Porsche Carrera 911


Howdy Folks, this is very long time from my last upload. My very first object, it is a car for nightlife. The mesh originally from http://dmi.chez.tiscali.fr/index.html. I had worked this mesh few weeks before Nightlife available. The mesh heavily modified, UV Mapped and textured by me.

Slightly higher than the Maxis mesh, sorry I can't make it lower since this was my first object.

Recolor:
You may recolor this mesh as you like or put anywhere you like but never with the mesh. Would be appreciated if could give a link to this thread .


The only problem with this mesh is I can't link the glass fog while sims woohoo or making out, the others you could see like on the pic.

I just found how to link the woohoo fog, its no longer will bug U, I feel wierd when I need to edit Effect List using HexEditor. Have fun.

To everybody that ask about the girl hair, I made the hair mesh but it troubles me alot but the similar mesh is now can be downloaded at TSR that created by Milla M and I will never upload the hair anymore.

Anyway I already stop all of my hair projects till multiple joint assignment will be availabled (I hate to do this). Currently I continoue a few object projects and then all of them will be cars and I included the Mini Cooper on my list, anyway I won't create it anymore if someone else upload the model earlier.

Just download the zip file, the site is where I got the car from and I made it available for nightlife you won't found any Sims mesh but the raw mesh files only.

Any plan to do recolors? (I'm fond of Red n Yellow... but this one is going in tonite!)

About fog problem, in my theory to fix this, is need to edit Effect List file but SimPE still can't read it. Hopefully, one day, it will be availabled and off course I will update it.

I already have few on my own projects, but I will look what can I do for some suggestion (I'm not promising anything).

The poly count that you mentioned is actually very low and as a serious modder myself I tend to go considerably higher than that. There is a rumour going around that maxis reccomend that meshes have no more than 800 polys per square but that is exactly that, a rumour. In actual fact, Maxis have made no statement to that effect and do them selves break that limit all the time. One example is the enigmatic energizer (aspiration reward) that has a poly count of 10,000 so to expect a working car mesh to have a poly count that is only 15-17% of that is a bit harsh. I personally would rather have a car than an enigmatic energiser in my game any day of the week.

Obviously there is a limit that modders should stick to but it certainly isn't 800 per square.

Unfortunatly I had a problem with it today.

I used it to go to a restaurant in the Nightlife downtown area. The car was left on the road, near the phone by my sim. I was never able to get back into it to go back home. I tried about 30 times and it never worked. The restaurant didn't have a parking area, just the road in front of it.

I don't know if that was the problem, but I finaly gave up and had to leave the Nightlife downtown area without beeing able to go back home ( with the car or with a taxi ) so I lost that part of the game since there is no game save if you live a community lot without your own car or the taxi.

Anybody else had this problem ?

Nice job anyway but I won't use it anymore before I can find an explanation for this problem.

Wow fabulous, take no notice of Max3D, there are many sites with car meshes available, plus as this is your first conversion to a game model you've done an amazing job.
As to zarmor's problem, this is a game problem, not a problem with your mesh, I have the same thing happen to sims using Maxis made cars, it must be a bug in the game because I've seen several people post with the same problem. Unfortunately no one seems to know what's causing it at the moment.

As others are posting their fav cars I'd love a Jag XJ220, a Rolls Royce, old style Mini Cooper(think Italian Job original film), VW Beetle and a VW camper van for my hippies :lol:

I think the problem is that there is no parking area on some of the nightlife community lots. Therefore you can only take a taxi to use them otherwise you get stuck and you can't leave it. I hope EA is going to fix that bug because it's annoying.
Maybe if somebody finds out how to add maxis home car driveways to community lots then it would work ?

I downloaded this into my game and have a problem. When my sim comes home in the car it won't shut down, it stays in the driveway and continues to rev it's rather cool sounding engine. :)

I'll try to reinstall it again and see if that helps. Will keep you posted. :)

Thanks for an awesome car it plays fine for me . Only thing i did notice though if its sat on the driveway and i click the recolour option thing on it while its there the one that costs $15 a time it disappears from view but reappears when ive re coloured it

Wierd to me, I already test it and I never have the problem to get back home. My sim just go to the restaurant and the carrera will stay park on the road when the sim was eating and have some fun. I just make it sit in the vehicle and back home easily, wierd to me when you have the problem.
Note: I just have Inteenmeter hack in my game.

Errr... I don't mean to bust your bubble or anything, but that hair is from Kozaburo, a japanese artist for poser, I know this, because I use that hair for some of my renders and I bought it about a year ago (I can post some of my renders from a year ago so you can see if you want), I don't know what his policy is for using his mesh like this, but unless you are him... I'm sorry but you seem to be taking credit for something you didn't do...
