Downloaded sims aren't there

I've downloaded loads of sims from this site and the exchange, and hardly any of them are showing up in my game. I've dowloaded meshes where relevant, they're in the right folder and all is present and correct. I'm enabling custom content. I must have downloaded about 30 sims tonight and not one of them is there. Any ideas what could be causing this?

Oh also, I downloaded lots of hair styles and only a few of those are showing up too. It's getting really annoying. :-/

I read it, and I'm doing everything it says right. The biggest mystery to me is why SOME sims show up and somes don't. Thanks for replying

Put all of your sims and genetics into the saved sims folder.
