OFB: No control over employees?!

I JUST installed my OFB and can't for the life of me figure out what to do with my stupid employee who keeps trying to tickle me and grill up burgers instead of um, i don't know,... working?

why, oh why can i not control her?
i can do everything that i can normally to a sim, but i can't for the life of me figure out how to control her.

am i doing something wrong? am i retarded?
or is it a mod that i need to uninstall?

those tips aren't helping one bit >_<

You can't control your employees like they're playable sims. You have to use the Management menu that comes up when you click on them to direct them to what you want them to do.

You can control them from 9:00 to 17:00 and usualy the next day they come to work .
There are more bugs in the game that seem to be cured the next day :s

Did you try to disable (take out) all hacks? For me the same problem was solved by taking out the MoveInAll-hack. Other hacks that change or add something to social interaction might cause this problem

oh, that might be it. i have something that makes all other sims selecteble on demand.(handy for people that like to sneak away frome families for weeks on end)
i'll try disabling that and see what happens.

Like wireframe suggested, sort through your hacks and see whats causing it. I was unable to hire employees on the phone, there was no employee menu on the computers, and I couldnt hire them by clicking directly on sims. I sorted through all my hacks and by deleting 2-3 needless ones, all my employee options work again, and some other options I wasnt even aware i ever had XD.

i had the same problem as you obe earlier. It was an odd file called f6082090e327a7f5eb5a3d0ae3fceca1_0001 god thats long. The maxis tells you odd items that might mess up your ofb. I just happened ot see it with a ! sign on it.

I have the move-in-all cheat (no friends, EP), and it's not a problem--I can still assign them to do this and that. Now whether they actually DO their job is another matter entirely. :rolleyes:

About the work hours--same here. I had to click "close business", AND "send employees home" before they'd leave. But it means crap though. Those buggers do nothing but walk around socializing, leaving their posts and queueing up in front of the podium when they're 80% full. All the while making me pay them by the hour. :mad:

OFB needs hacks/cheats like ramen needs water. :grumble:

I had the fasterpaintingplusskilling cheat and it caused me all kinds of problems. But I still have a hard time in the beginning getting my employees to do what there told instead of swinging on the swings or going to the exercise equipment. But it does seem after a while they start behaving a bit better. By the way anyone know why the familyfunds {familyname} +/- {value} wont work? I think there are some glitches in the game for sures.

Familyfunds works for me with OFB. Most of the problems detailed here are likely due to conflicting custom content, not game glitches.

well, now i can do SOME things. but my bartenders get stuck when drinks get ordered and they keep charging for the drink over and over again...
