"Deleting an employee work outfit and exiting lot without saving will no longer cause lots to disappear upon returning."
lol sorry but itīs funny to see that said so naturally ī^^D
I still donīt blame MAXIS but EA for so many errors on a retail game.. MAXIS always did excelent stuff, nway, here we are, a bit more happy with this patch =]
[ edit: thanks LyricLee, I usually take months to see some official update on TS2, MTS2 is the only site I go on it ]

While I am not sure how many people are having issues with the new patch, I would be wary and watch on the official thesims2.com forum feedback from the users regarding the patch not to mention see if you NEED the patch from the patch list.
A warning that some of the comments are extreme, ranging from rabid angry gamers to fanboy loving craziness, but there are some that are levelheaded and informative such as this one.
Well as for me I have mixed feelings on the patch. Prior to the patch I had few glitchs. I was able to drive to community lots and the only real bug that was an issue for me was that my game would hang when trying to load a lot with reward object on it.
I downloaded the patch, installed it and after loading my game I couldn't load any house in any town. <edit>
I can not say the patch didn't help though. The houses that would not load before do load with the boolprop cheat, where they didn't before. In fact that seems to be the only way i can enter any house right now. So does the patch do any good...yes you just need to be open minded.
Just a caution for those who may not need what the patch fixes or who don't feel like backing up neighborhoods.

Thanks for the warning, corapanther. For everyone else, if you have any problems with the patch, please do not post it here. This thread is announcing the patch and should not be turned into a help thread. Please post any problems you might have in the Help section (http://www.modthesims2.com/forumdisplay.php?f=31). Thanks.

Now I have a silly question: I don't have any bugs that are listed on the TheSims.com in my game since I got OFB. In fact, I have no bugs at all other than my game being really slow ever since I installed the new expansion which is probaply my graphics card. Should I get the patch anyways or would it just be a waste?

Btw, I think I may add that ...
If right now you can play TS2 relatively okay, don't patch. :P
Many times patches create new problems w/ little or no help to old problems.

Man, All the stuff people say is wrong with their game, I have never experienced, and I hope not to. But still, I think Maxis should be in charge of all the stuff and EA should just kinda back-off, and go their merry way. Anyway, thanks LyricLee, I usually never find out about these patches untill, like a month after they come out.

I'm surprised to see the patch released in such a timely manner! There are a lot more little things I wish they would have fixed, but I'm glad to see some really major problems apparantly fixed.

Also note that some custom content that you have for sale in your store will not always be restocked the first time, simply place the items there again and it will work fine.

The only bug that I have is that when a sim has custom created hair and I go to change their uniform - all the other hair styles are gone and I'm only left with the horse head :( But I guess I can get around this and perhaps the patch isn't necessary?

incredibly disappointed that they didn't fix the lot boundaries issue, but not as disappointed that i no longer have the option to delete object recolours from within the game ! what in the heck ?

I have installed the patch and for those who use cheats, don't install it. Now the boolprop allow45degreeangleofrotation cheat doesn't work and the moveobjects cheat is also more restricted. You can't place objects on the road area and footpaths anymore. There is probably others as well I haven't checked yet. I am now reinstalling open for business to wipe off the 'patch'.

My angle cheat works jsut fine- and the move objects/road issue was an issue before the patch.

I don't really want this patch as when I installed the NightLife patch everywhere around my lot when I was in the lot was completely blue and the Lot View options were greyed out! Just my opinion.

They still haven't fixed the Prof. Berjes thing either! Some guy called Professor Berjes came into my shop and looked at the wall mounted plasma TV. I used my amazing powers of manipulation to make him buy it, and he waltzes out of the shop without paying for it!

Katgyrl, I've honestly got mixed feelings on this too.
I was happy the patch fixed some people's serious issues, but I could always drive off and on lots armed with the information regarding the renu-orb. The biggest issues for me were the graphics glitches (it's now just getting worse) and also the make many cooking and restocking glitches.
In a sense it is less important than blue screens and disabling of live mode, but it would make the game more enjoyable.
Anyways, I am eagerly awaiting the new patch which hopefully addresses gameplay/aesthetic issues.

I have instailled the game but, I Keep haveing on issuse, When I start the game, It goes to the screen where it will be starting to load it crashs and says this game will be termated, also, when I unstailed just that game, It made night life do the same thing

Thanks for the heads-up on the patch.
This is my favorite one:
Furious setting will now decrease over time so that Sims do not stay Furious forever.
When a patch is released I look at the list of fixes. If none of them are really bothering my game I don't download the patch. Even if there are one or two problems on the list that are bothersome, if it doesn't affect my gameplay I do not download the patch.
Now, if they release a patch fixing the bounderies issue then I will download it.

Als does the patch fix people buying the umm i forgot what its called, but there is always a restock sign with the sim transporter thing where people come from when they walk past a lot. So somehow I didnt even put the invisible thing up for sale but people buy it! Oh well I guess its free money! lol

I don't think I need the patch just yet. Some bugs but not anything it (edit: the patch) solves. I have the location out of bounds warning as well, and the camera issue (noted in the help section under Camera Issues/Viewing) but I miss being able to move that phone and trash can to where I wanted it.. Now if I pick it up, it won't go back. lol
I'm gonna wait.. I usually do wait until they figure out if the bugfixer causes more bugs.
Best to y'all who do, and don't..

I havn't experienced anything wrong with my game and i don't particulary want to.
Is it just the different copy's of the game that may cause problems or the different computers?

I can't delete custom objects while in the game after the patch. Was it the patch or something else?

31st Mar 2006, 7:30 PM
I know this doesn't belong on this thread, but I can't find where it does belong. I'm having the same problem since the patch. I can't delete custom content in game. This is an issue because I've never been able to get the content manager to work. Should I just reinstall OFB to get rid of the patch?

chaotess, my suggestion is you put that question in the help section.

I downloaded the patch when it came out as I'd been experiencing problems with my lots. IE the owners of the lots were getting stuck there. The patch has made no difference whatsoever. Ah well. I just deleted the affected lots and built new ones. :-)

hello, I have spend 2 evenings looking for advice/help in the help-section, but could not find my problem.
I found you here and maybe you can help/give advise
if I want to change a house, I cannot get rid of the nice new patio-covers, outside-sunshades, or however you call those things in english (I am dutch and have the Dutch installed... sorry)
furthermore... ROOFS... they go crazy on me, I make a lovely house, add roofs, also the new great round roof and then the "normal" roofs are suddenly sky-high after I stopped palying and start the game again.
it is most annoying, what is wrong? any idea?
(I have the patch downloaded, got rid of loads of RED things in the cleaner but refused to remove numenor's see-through walls etc. they always did fine, and more things... I threw even the dead nanny and her grave out because they showed up red  and I will miss that)
but still.... silly high roofs and no way to remove the nice new "patio-covers"
Please give advice
thank you very much

I was hoping that when I installed the patch the cakes and things I baked would actually stay in my simmies rucksack, but nope they still disappear! I lose stock from the fridge but don't gain any items for it.

I hope you already got it but just in case you didn't:
You download the patch from http://thesims2.ea.com/update/. It's an executable file that you just double click on to install.

GYAHH! I installed OFB, ran the patch, and I can't freaking download custom skins! It's making me mental! The weird thing is that it shows up in the list of downloadie stuff, but it doesnt show up in my game! And yes my custom content is enabled. I can get new OBJECTS, and PATCHES, but not skins or genetics. HELLLPPPPP MEEEEE!

Well, it certainly would explain a thing or 20. I just relaoded the entire game a couple of days ago onto a dedicated hard drive (it makes a difference performance wise BTW) complete with the new patch. Now some of the saved lots won't appear in the bin, some clothes and hairstyles have defaulted to Maxis originals, etc.
Looks like I'll need to reload OFB...
I REALLY hope that this isn't going to carry on to EP 4 "Pets" when it comes out.

I hav also scanned the help part, and tried to ask for help on the forum about ths issue. I probably did omething wrong, because my thread was promptly deleted and the moderator told me to look in the tech help section. And so I did, again. But I didn't find anything to help me in this issue.
It seems that the "bunnybear", along with very many downloaded plushies, disappear from the game when you go into a shop to put it in said shop.
Also, the charisma toy for toddlers sinks partially into the shelf when restocked.
