Well now you can!

Hi, I'm Delphy. You might remember me from such site news announcements as "Post Counts (http://www.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=73448)", "MTS2 Cafepress Store (http://www.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=151135)" and, not to be forgotten, "Welcome to Mod the Sims 2 dot com (http://www.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=30929)".

Here at MTS2, we regularly go through and discuss what we can do to make your life easier here on the site, and one of those things is downloads. We all know that many of you are here for the quality items, and sometimes it's hard to find things. The Search goes a long way towards this, but we've introduced a new feature.

You can now display only a particular creators downloads, using the "Creator" filter on the download page. This then allows you to browse through the download section as normal, but just with thier items.

An example of this is: http://www.modthesims2.com/download.php?username=Numenor

Linked into this system is a brand new revamped Member Profile screen. This displays a screen similar to the downloads front page, but with additional information relevant to downloaders. Want to know what the most popular download is, or what the ones the creator feels are their favourites? Now it's right on that screen along with the list of categories that creator has downloads in.

This new profile screen is limited to MooMoo Award winners, and Featured Creators only.

You may notice the banner on Tig's page. This is a new feature, so that creators in those groups can personalise thier page a little more. Also, you can specify your own favourites that will appear on your profile page.

I've also added a little trophy icon that appears underneath the member name when a creator is featured, and also appears on the download pages, as well as within the thread itself.

Finally, I'd like to thank everybody for using MTS2, and we hope that you'll like these new features.

Hi Moomoo Award Winners and Featured Creators,

To upload a Banner, go to your User CP (User Tools -> User CP), then select Edit Profile Picture. You must upload one from your PC, remote linking wont work.

To select a download as a favourite, go into Edit post (on the first post, as normal), scroll down, and there is a new section called "Favourite Creation".

To enter a customisable piece of text that appears above the downloads, go to User Tools -> Edit Profile, and fill in both boxes at the bottom (You need a title as well as the actual text).

If you have journal entries, they will also show up on the left. :)

However, i am somewhat displeased with how the user page new looks. the huge "user has uploads in this section" it far to large, and i like having my signature there since it has a link to my terms of use,is there a way we could customize what is to be displayed or use the older version if we prefer? but otherwise it is a worthmy improvement Delphy!

The "User has uploads in this section" is the same size as it would be on the downloads page. I had originally played with the idea of having peoples signatures on that page, however not everybody has a signature that has terms and conditions, rules of use, etc in it.

The idea of the new profile pages is for the people who download from the site, as well as to show off your downloads, so having the old page as the default shown to people would mean they are less able to browse through your downloads the same as with any other featured artist.

What you have to remember about the "old" profile pages is this: You actually have to scroll down a page or two on standard screen resolutions just to see the downloads! Even with the "huge" user has uploads section and a banner, as you have, the actual downloads you have are right there on the first page and higher up than on the older page.

All in all the new page showcases your downloads to other people.

I highly doubt I'll give people the option to remove the "User has downloads" box since it's integral to the page. I will, however, think about giving people the option of displaying thier signature on the default new page. Given the positioning of the other elements, it would pretty much have to go above the Member Downloads boxes though.

Just checked it out and found a tiny bug I think: on the profile pages, it seems like the last two links in the lefthand menu (first box) always point back to the page I'm on. For example, on the Creator Statistics page (http://www.modthesims2.com/scorecard.php?sort=download&u=178282) the 'Edit Avatar' and 'Edit Profile Picture' links both point to Creator Statistics (the exact same URL as above, but with a # at the end). It's the same for all other pages I tried -- it's always the last two links in that box that are off, the others work fine.

The above applies *only* if I try to open the link in a new tab, which is what I normally do -- if i just click on it (not specifying the target), I get a login popup (that's apparently missing its CSS), although I'm already logged in. And then if I try to login, I get

Edited to add: for a very long time now, I've had to login twice when uploading something (but it always worked, so no big deal) -- maybe this isn't supposed to be so? That would be a hint that there's something wrong with my browser/cookies/settings which might also cause the above issues ...

Edited to add, as well: the 'recursive links' issue happens when I view other people's profiles as well, not only my own.

I'm not sure if it's just me but the number of times people have viewed posts counter isn't updating. I know it only changes once every hour, but there's stuff that's been here for a day or two that still says it has zero views, even though people have posted comments so it was obviously viewed more than once.

I was testing out the "favourite creations" feature and set 4 downloads as favourites. Now I want to delete them but it won't let me. The "favourite" checkbox keeps reverting back to ticked when the post saves.

Also, only 2 favourites are showing up on my profile page even though I selected 4. Is 2 the limit? It makes sense to have a limit, I just didn't see it mentioned anywhere. Doesn't matter though since I'll probably delete them all. It's too hard to choose a favourite baby! :lovestruc :lol:

Look at the list of members for those with custom titles. Most of those are senior members. Judging by Alias' and my join dates, the light blue is for senior members who aren't original members.

I'm working on ways to improve the download situation but they wont be ready for another few days since thats when the bandwidth reset kicks in.

I am not featured or what have you but I have an option for "profile picture" and I put a pic there and I have no clue where it sticks it! I can't find it. I figured it if gave me an option to add a pic that I had a place it could go that was mine. So to speak.

Is the profile picture for the new profile option or is it for paid members or anyone?

EDIT: (removed previous statement here, it's Monday and I'm having issues lol, I figured out my question concerning colored names)

(EDIT2: I am a donator but I do not see a simoleon sign under my name. I just upgraded to level 2 supporter. I still have my old support subscription in effect for now until it expires. Could that be why? and my avatar still says 90x90. Does the text on that page change with your payment or does it stay default at 90x90? Sorry for so many questions ;) )
