Seasons changes, the Upload Queue, and you!

Hi All,

As you all know the latest Sims 2 EP has been released and a lot of you are picking it up and playing it and hopefully enjoying yourself immensely.

With the release of an EP the amount of uploads on MTS2 usually goes down a bit, and we are taking this opportunity to update some key systems and procedures to take us into the future and make things better for people uploading.

With this in mind, I am announcing that:

The Upload Items screen will be DISABLED for the period of this work

This means that no new uploads may be submitted to MTS2 - however existing uploads will be processed as normal, as it is required to clear down the upload queues completely before restarting and updating for Seasons.

We hope you all understand the need to do this, and rest assured uploads will be enabled very soon. :)

My world is flashing blue, nothing works, recolors absolutely nothing. I started playing it last night. Went in and eww had to go almost right back out. Nothing but flashing blue lights. At least all my custom hair, eyes and clothing works and that's it. Insimenator gone, all furniture, stairs, windows gone. They all flew away and became Japanese fans, etc or blue flashing lights...Color enabler gone. Did I mention everything is gone? Going now to start building some new homes and slowly start moving my sims family by family over and just bulldoze the old ones. Too much to try and fix. Can't wait for the updates; as my children would say...Are you/they done yet? lol

i hope those of you getting Seasons have fun with it....I promised myself that I wouldn't get it until a patch is released, because since the Livin' Large EP(from sims1)was released, ALL of the games have been a bit buggy..plus I need to wait until my cousin moves out anyway to get all of his crap off of my pc so I'll have some more space to play it!!

I know this is not the right thread to post so forgive me, but I would like to know if anyone has any trouble getting into their favorite lots after installing Seasons. The new 'hood works just fine in my game, but my usual "hood lags/freezes up when trying to load. the ep is otherwise pretty friggin' sweet!

From the preview screenshots,
the pool material shader has been changed for the mirror reflection.
Probably, a weather/snow shader was added?
Codes related to comfort should have been altered.

I'll wait for bugs reports before buying it.
I can't install it shortly anyway.

Well before you do be sure to read this thread (http://forums.sims2community.com/showthread.php?t=35490) about it's minimum system requirements because I noticed for example - The base game requires a 800 MHz processor but seasons requires a 1300 MHz processor which counts me out by 100 :|

Before people space out on the minimum system requirements I'd like to point out that the link for running a check on system requirements gave me an inaccurate report. It said my graphics card is below minimum requirements for Seasons, but the EA's site lists my card as supported for WindowsXP. Granted, it's only just barely good enough, but it clearly is on the list.

This is the direct link to EA's page detailing minimum system requirements: http://thesims2.ea.com/help/detail.php?help_id=280

If you read it carefully, or find their help page explaining The Sims2 and Vista compatibility, you'll see that requirements for Vista machines are different than XP machines.

By the way, Delphy, thanks for all you do to maintain this as the best Sims2 site on the web!

I would like to point out I am running a AMD Althlon XP 1.1 Ghz CPU , 640 Mb Ram and an ATI Radeon 9550 256 Mb 8x AGP graphics card and I have seasons installed along with EVERY other EP and SP and have over 17 k downloads and I can play the sims just fine ....It gets a little laggy some times but for the most part it runs good ....And if it turns out your computer wont run it then if you have a compusa or similar store near you , you could always pickup a MB & CPU combo for usually under $200 ...

The first time I booted Seasons, I had the same thing happen. All I did was quit the game and restarted it, and that fixed the problem.

yes, bad timing for me to. just compelted a church converted into a cottage (antique style) for seasons. This is much more important though so i am glad :)

Arghhhhhhh i went to get Seasons today and it was sold out. I'll try at a different store later. I got a new shiny 200GB hard disk though and it feels great i have all the space i needed and even more now -Freedom!!! (judging my other was left with 1.50 GB's only) lol

And i'm getting anxious for the uploads to be back now, my everyday habbit to browse new things, i miss it :-P

My Pets spazzed out with Seasons, too. Is still spazzing. Says O uninstalled it, but I did no such thing. Pets still appear in my neighborhoods, but none of the pets items or getting pets. Tis strange.
