I all of a sudden started to get some issues with my game yesterday, wich I havent been able to fix yet.

It started out with a car disapearing when my sim was late for work. I got the message stating that my Sim was late for work and bla bla bla... and all of a sudden the sim was back home and the car was gone. Then the message for my sim missing work showed up. Very odd.

After that, I got him a new car, and tryed to go to a community lot, game froze up along with my PC, had to reboot. Couldent do anything at all.

Right after that, same lot, same sim (same bat channel ;-)) my screen turned all blue and started to flash or blink or what ever you describe this as. I couldent really interact with my PC in any way. I tryed everything possible, and a few times the PC sort of interacted with me, but just to revert back to the flashing stuff... I had to reboot.

Any suggestions regarding these issues?

Further information: Yes, I have lots of downloads and a multitude of various hacks and other game modifications.
No, I havent tryed taking them out and trickled them in again, but will do that, as a last option.
The car that disapeared was a downloaded car, not a maxis original.
The lot was a resturant made by me.
I have all expansions installed except Seasons.

Thanks in advance.

well like you describe your problem there are 2 alternatives for me.

1. your computer is haunted, poltergeist or something (call the ghostbusters)
2. you have to muck out your download folder (hint !!!)

you choose ;)

Heh... well the PC should be sort of clean and well functioning, just made a complete reinstall. So dont think its the PC, think its some of my downloads, be it CC or some hack.
The sad thing is that it has gotten worse, now the game crashes all the time, most lots refuse to load. And the lag is unbearable. But considering what I have been downloading in the past few days, its nothing that I can imagine that would cause this. Its only a lot from here, checked that, and it seemed clean, and it was made with the expansions that I have and so on. No new hacks installed. Guess the only option is to take out stuff and do the tedious and extremely booring process of checking what works and not.

Your problem might also be game file related, so backup your entire My Docs/EA Games/Sims2 folder then go through the steps in this faq (http://www.sims2wiki.info/wiki.php?title=Game_Help:Game_Problem).

Ahh Juliana, that is why I wrote: "No, I havent tryed taking them out and trickled them in again, but will do that, as a last option." hehe. But thanks for your tip, I guess that is the only way to sort it out. Very anoying thing this, but inevitable I guess when one are like me, no order and on a downloading spree.

Do you have an Nvidia graphics card of the 5000 to 7000 series? Then you may be running into a bug in the TS2 code.
You will probably have to turn off shaders, or play in windowed mode. I heard old nvidia drivers also help. The new DX10 cards do not suffer from this bug.

The command to turn off shaders is boolprop useshaders false. Apply on the console or in the userstartup.cheat file.

You will lose fish and maybe some other effects though.
