Thanks button fixes and server donation drive

Hi All,

Two things to cover today - one of which is something that people have been commenting on a while.

Firstly, the Thanks button found on Download pages has been changed so that it no longer "decrements" thanks counts when clicking the button - the correct thanks count now goes upwards instead of down.

Secondly, you may recall back in January of this year, I installed a second public fileserver onto the MTS2 cluster. This was called Freya and is outlined in this site news thread: http://www.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=216236

Edit: Server donation drive complete! Thanks to everybody who donated :)

At the time I placed the order, I actually paid for 6 months of the server rental. It's now 6 months later, and obviously the next payment is due. Here are the details:


Package(s) Total: $1254.00
Package(s) Setup: $9.50
Discount : $106.80
Tax Due : $0.00
Total Due : $1156.70*
--------------------------------------------------------------
* $1147.20 will be due (plus applicable tax) on the next renewal date


The $1147.20 is arrived at by the Package total minus the discount - $1254 - $106.80 = $1147.20. Edit: I've calculated overruns from previous months including from the original server purchase, so the amount needed for the donation drive is set at $821.60.

To help keep an eye on the status of the drive, I've added a counter page here:

This should keep you all up to date with how much is left to raise. I'll be adding a banner to the top of the page but once you donate this will disappear.

So, with that all said, I'd like to take this opportunity to thank you all for using MTS2, and thank you to all who have donated or will donate. If you can't donate, don't worry - your continued contribution to the site in other forms is always welcome.

I would like to make a donation, this site and all the downloads are awesome but actually I can't, I'm only 17 and don't have a possibility to donate. And, well, my parents are very conservative in this questions, they think that this is stupidity to spend money on something like that... I wish you good luck and a lot of donators.

I've gone with the MTS2 Supporter monthly subscription to support the site :anime: Took me ages but last time I donated I hit the one time one not even realizing there was a monthly one lol. 91% of the total there is wicked! It may not be as easy as that, unfortunately, so I don't think that's fair to those of us who can't donate. I Luv this site soooo much but can't donate. I would gladly give what little I could but for some bizarre reason they won't give credit cards to broke people :) And I am officially entrenched in the "broke" category :(

I just want to tell you all that I am VERY impressed with your website. I just got the Sims 2 recently & I had no idea how addictive & time consuming it can be just playing it. I give y'll KUDOS for the time you spend creating, writing tutorials, & moderating this website. I wish I had some $$$ to donate but I am hooked & studying. I'm a very smart cookie & have lots of time on my hands which I would be willing to donate to do any small tasks. Your creations make the game some much more fun!!!
