Help! Wont let me place windows or doors?!

Hello.
I am having a problem in the sims 2 where i build a building but when i go to place a window or a door it says "must be places in centre of the tile" so i do that but it still says that.
I dont know what i should do to stop this from happening can somebody please help?

Are these diagonally placed doors and windows? Are you trying to place them with 'moveObjects on'? If so, you must turn off the 'moveObjects' cheat in order to place them diagonally.

Also, you did not mention whose windows they are, but if you remember where you downloaded them from, I suggest you check for updates. The creator may have had a conflict that has caused this to happen and the problem may now be fixed.
