Need Help with recoloring teenstyle rug

Hi. I've been spending the day making recolors of the teenstyle stuffpack bedroom objects and all was going well untill I got to the rug. I'm using SimPe object workshop. I go through all the steps like all my other recolors but after I click start on the last dialog and give it a file name it creates an empty file instead of letting me choose which base color I want to start from. The rug I'm chooseing is called "The Pounding Waves Rug".
I was hopeing someone could tell me what is happening and how to fix it.
I'm sorry if this seems jumbled I'm not very good at writing.

The "Pounding Waves Rug" is from FamilyFun, not TeenStyle; and reading your profile, I don't see FFS listed in your game configuration.

You should go to SimPe Preferences and check the File Table: be sure that only the packs that you own are active (a "Reset file table" should work, too); then go to the Settings page and clear the cache; and lastly restart SimPE.

I've understood what happened...
Every new EP contains the definition of all the existing objects, including the ones from the previous packs; but of course it does NOT contain the mesh, the textures etc. When you open the Buy catalog, in game, it excludes the objects that come from packs that you don't have, so that you don't see them in the catalog. But SimPE is NOT capable of excluding them: Object Workshop shows ALL the objects, including the ones for the EPs that you don't have. If you select one of these "ghost" objects, trying to recolor or clone them, SimPe can't find the texture and the mesh (because you don't have the required pack).

In some cases, SimPE tells you which pack a specific object comes from; but sometimes this info is inaccurate. Apart from looking at the game catalog, you can associate each object to the required pack by reading the CEP documentation.


Back to your problem, you should recolour another 1x2 rug; the "Dirty Clothes Pile" from TeenStyle should be fine (the only other rug from Teen is 2x3).

Ah ok thank you. I suspected I had the wrong rug when I started up the game later and saw the rug I was looking for had a different name. Thats anoying that SimPe shows objects I don't actualy have. Thank you for your help.
