OK, I have started a new thread for this, as I ended up discussing it on a previous thread.

I have created several windows, all working fine. But I am trying to make them visable in the n'hood, but I can't understand what I am supposed to do to be able to do that.

I have looked at the tut in this but can't make any sense of it. I read elsewhere that I need to open by cres name the LOD90 of the original object I cloned, but it doesn't open anything. The original object is the Midnight Ride window, which shows up as windowColonialDoubleHung.

If I try the open that name via Open by cress, it opens fine, but when I add the LOD90 to the name, to open up the LOD90 version, it opens a blank file...

I have added one of the windows I have made to this post, as I said, it was the Midnight Ride window, available in the base game.

If someone could give me step by step instructions on what I need to de to get it to show in the n'hood I would be eternally grateful :D

Sorry, I had no chance to get to SimPE yesterday, and probably wouldn't be able to get to it until weekends :( so I can only offer suggestions where to look.

First, to Open by CRES something, you have to make sure that such CRES exists :) not all objects have lod90 versions, so you probably typed a name of nonexistent cres. You need to verify first, via Object Finder, that such resource exists at all. You may try to do a Match-type search - for 'window*lod' (for lod-versions of windows, if any), or 'lod90_cres' (for any lod cres-es), to find available lod resources and pick one which is most suitable to you.

Second, you can search for minimum changes which would make your object visible in neighborhood - it's certainly possible, but I never went this way, and didn't studied how it made. I don't remember exact examples, but I think DrPixel's outhouse (http://www.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=257737) was visible in neighborhood and didn't had lod version. I'm afraid that, unless someone else replies, you have to do small research by yourself of what to change. You certainly wouldn't need to change more than in my tutorial - but which steps can be skipped is a question.

OK, I am an idiot, I wasnt changing the search to 'Namemap', thats why it was finding zip. I had to uncheck all of the expansions, as it would only display the first 2000 items for 'lod90_cres', and as I knew the window is in the base game, I knew roughly where to look.

So, it doesnt appear that the window has a lod90 package. So I am guessing I need to make one from the actual object package I have. I have worked out that I only need to extract certain parts of the main package to build a lod90 package, I am just not sure which one. And when I do make the new package, do I need to give it it's own GUID's as all my attempts have either ended up with a recolour or two of the same thing...
