I posted a problem with my computer falling asleep in game a few days ago. I thought it may have been a problem with CEP, but I was not able to find anything to support this due to inconsistency with the problem appearing when testing.

I read a response to another post that said that she had experienced something similar and thought it may be due to a limit on her downloads folder. I've heard of other simmer's folders having 4GB, 6GB and up to 35000 files in game, but they are all on PCs. Is this limit for a Mac a myth or does it have some validity? And I do realize how ridiculous this sounds :)

I've realized that since I became very strict with what I allow in my DL folder, and now have under 1.9GB, I've not had the problem occur, though I've not actually tested for it. I've been building rather than playing. I'm just curious what the general consensus is because I've realized the problem didn't start occurring until I had about 1.94GB in the folder. Thanks to any who respond.

Yes, the limit is very real for Macs. Do a search and you'll find plenty of info and information for workarounds.

Although I've haven't heard of any instances where going over the file limit caused a computer to go to sleep. It makes sims & lots and entire neighborhoods disappear and creates wireframes of neighborhood pics, but putting a computer to sleep... that would be a new one... :)
