I'm following the directions of a tutorial, heres a link: http://www.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=80621
When I attempt to export wavefront.obj files into SimPE and open the Resource tree, the Object Data (OBJD) folder is selectable, but will not open. The real issue is that I can't get meshes into SimPE, get a GUID, then back into Wings3D. I've scoured that tutorial for any helpful posts, and I have somewhat of an idea what my problem may be. And with SimPE not accepting the exports from Wings3D, I doubt I'll continue learning to mod in a week from now.

Okay, just clarifying here - the OBJD is almost completely unrelated to a .obj file. The mesh needs to be imported using the import options under the GMDC files...

Dont give up just yet! :)

Click on the GMDC and find the word import. Click it and select the maya file type import and find your object and click import. A message will pop up from there and you need to either replace the original object or add it to the list.

When I first started making objects I got frustrated too, but I ended up figuring it out and doing it my own way. I use 3ds max, but then import it into Wings3d then into Simpe so its even more tedious and annoying, but I didnt find any tutorials on how to do it, so i fiured it out on my own. It takes alot of practice, but you will eventually get the hang of it. :)

If your getting an error or something is missing, then thats a different issue.
