View Full Version : Need help; can't get my glasses recolour to work!

I'm sorry if this has already been posted somewhere, but I've been searching for an answer all morning and can't seem to find one.
When I replace the texture file for the black wide-rimmed glasses, the colour doesn't show up properly. All I get it mostly white, with little flecks and a chunk of black. The colour was supposed to be a smokey grey (also tried pink), and absolutely none of the intended colour is coming through.

I have been successful at doing a recolour of these glasses a year or so ago, but my memory is foggy and I can't for the life of me figure out why it won't work for me this time. :cry:
Any help would be appreciated!

You don't need to change the "black" texture. Go to the TXMT (material definition - i'm sure that will have one for "lens" and one for "frame" - to all ages and genders) and change the colour by there.

Selecting the "stdMatDiffCoef" you can change "any" color, in the tab Categorized Properties there's a "color pallet". The values are R; G; B, so you can go to your image editor and copy&paste this information of your color, if you prefer.

I made a print.

Thanks for your help, but I wasn't able to change the colour via this method.
Maybe I opened the wrong file? I used the one created by Bodyshop inside the project folder ...
When I did this last time, it was all in Bodyshop, I didn't realize I could do it in SimPE.

Yeah, it's wrong. You have to open the file already imported to the game. Make a recolour, change the "description" and import, so you can open the imported file and change the color by TXMT, after, open the BodyShop and see the color. If is not good, close and change the color of TXMT again.

I think it's easy than make a new texture.
