There's something I want so badly to do, and I so badly hope that somebody can point me in the right direction. ^__^;
I want to make a tattoo on the arm of one of my sims. The only problem I'm having is that the sim is already made, and I've been playing with him for months now. I've read that the only way to get body tattoos (wearable with any clothing) is to put them directly on the skin.
How would I go about editing my sim's skin? Can I somehow find his skin's texture files (using SimPE or another way) to edit his skin in my graphics program? Or do I HAVE to use the cloning or Sim Surgery technique? (I'd use that...but it's more difficult and I don't want my sim to lose all his memories...I don't want him to lose anything at all!) >__<
I searched all over this site and the internet, and it seems impossible to just open up a sim's skin somehow. It's probably a false hope, but until someone tells me straight that it is not possible, I'll keep researching. :|
EDIT: After a lil' more research, I came up with this crazy plan, that I would like your critique on it before I implement it. Dx
What about...if I used Body Shop to clone the maxis skin that my sim is currently using, then edited that skin's texture file in my graphics program and added the tattoo on it. After importing that newly edited skin back into the game, I would move the package file from its project folder (in sims 2->projects) to the downloads folder.
Next, I would make sure that it had everything it needed to be recognized by christianlov's custom skintone selector (http://www.modthesims2.com/download.php?t=284572). Then, I would use the skintone selector in-game to change my sim's current maxis skintone to the new, tattooed maxis skintone I edited (or "recolored").
Basically, a kind of sim surgery technique I guess...Do you think that will work? :wtf:
