Question about recolouring plants with seasons

I have made some recolours for the Maxis Fountain of Grass Shrub that came with the Mansion and Garden stuffpack.All recolours work fine until it's starts to snow.Then they go back to there original colour.Is there a way to fix this?.I did recolour the texture images with the snow on it.I've checked that I did not forget to do that.

edit:I was playing and I noticed that when there is a thick pack of snow the recolours start to flash blue.Anyone know how to make my recolours seasons friendly?.

I did not find that tuturial.Thanks,I just had a quick look at it.Looks a bit more difficult then what I normally do but I'll give it a try tomorrow.Thanks for making the tutorial and for your reply.
