View Full Version : Pixelation in areas of bare skin

I've been re-colouring Sims clothing for a long time but one thing has really started to bug me: that quite often clothing items seem to be producing pixelation over the bare skin areas of the underlying skintone.
This is a lot more noticeable now as I have recently upgraded my various skintones with SimPE to DXT3 quality. It's a little horrifying to see my lovely creamy-skinned Sims go all blotchy in all but the naked state.

This doesn't happen with all clothing, although all my re-colours are produced in the same way, pretty much as per the tutorials at MTS2... for some reason teen undies seem particularly prone to this affect.

Would I be right in assuming that better quality re-colours might be achieved using SimPE to post-process packages, or is this pixelation just something I have to live with?
Apart from working with skintones, I am not really very familiar with SimPE... I play TS2 on a Mac, so I have to ferry files back and forth between that and my partner's VAIO in order to use SimPE... and then navigate her Japanese operating system into the bargain. What a nightmare!
If anyone can suggest a way around this problem (the pixelation, not the Japanese OS!), I would be very grateful.

Thanks
Nina
