View Full Version : Footprint Issue

I cloned an end table, and it seems to work in game, except for the fact that it takes up two footprints, one for the table itself, and another footprint to it's left for no reason.

I used a few different search terms and had no luck in finding an answer to my question, so I caved in and decided to ask.

Hopefully someone can help me ( I am guessing this is an easily solved dilemna)

:help:

It sounds like you cloned a two tile coffee table instead of a one tile coffee table. You can either reclone a one tile table or reduce the footprint. I would recommend recloning simply because by reducing the footprint you will still have two OBJD, whereas cloning a one tile table gives you just one.

But to reduce the footprint you could follow this tutorial by Numenor http://www.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=242079

Thank you for replying!

The problem is this, the original table mesh (the sonate table from mango sims) is a one tile object...

Since my last posting I have noticed something...it seems the extra tile is occupied by a shadow which confuses me even more...

When remeshing the object in maya, I made sure to not exceed the size of the table, and I kept it in the center of the original object as I was rescaling to prevent any problems...

I guess maybe in my case it would be easier to follow numenor's tutorial?

Again, thanks a ton for the help, and for the link to the tutorial.

Do you actually have a green square for the shadow and the table? If not then maybe you just have the table and/or the shadow positioned incorrectly. The shadow mesh parts are separate and are mapped separate, maybe one of them needs to be moved.

Maybe a better question is, does the Mango Sims table do this as well?

I ended up cloning a maxis table instead, it was, as you said, much easier.

The shadow took up a green footprint as well as the endtable, but for some reason I had deleted the shadow from the mesh :wtf:

Anyways, problem solved, thanks so much for helping out.

BTW, while I am here, do you have any clue how I delete certain items from packages?

In GMDC and plugin view, choose the tab called 'Groups' then hihlight the part you don't need and click on 'delete','commit' and 'save' the package.

Yes as Maylin said, but also delete the corresponding entry in the SHPE.
