Adopting Large Dogs

I adopted all the Large Dogs from the 'pound', and then I installed the patch.. but there weren't any Large Dogs there..
So I gave a large dog to the pound, then re-adopted it.. yet it didn't get replaced.
I adopted a small dog and that one got replaced, but because I adopted all the big dogs BEFORE installing the patch, will it ever replace any large dogs?

- what patch?
- why should dogs be repalced and to what?

The official Pets Patch.
And in the 'Adopt a Pet' option thing on the phone, ring up to adopt a large dog.. it should be replaced by another maxis made dog, shouldn't it?
It does with small dogs.

Did you download an something that would stop the game from respawning pets?

Not that I know of.
And Small dogs are getting replaced, but cats and big dogs don't seem to be.

I wasn't aware that the game will replace dogs with new dogs once you adopt them. In fact, it has never ever happened on my game before and after I got the pets patch. It isn't like adopting a child - the game will not re-create them straight away. The only way to get new dogs and cats in the adoption centre (and how I think Maxis intedend it to be) was for you to send your pet's puppies and kittens by giving up a pet and then that pet is in the pet adoption thing for another family to adopt (or for you to adopt them back if you wish).

My game replaces my dogs once in a while, but with puppies.It also does it with my cats. But the animals don't have names, the are just called 'male puppy' or 'female puppy'.

the patch might reduce amount of respans to prevent lag and glitched cus you got rid of all of them
