Yeah, I guess in Sim-word even barf's can teleport ;)

Another discovery from Pleasantview: Morti Goth has 2 wants about Dina Caliente. One is "Dina becomes Zombie" and another "Drink Dina" ! And she happens to be alive :D Hmm, let me think... which one do I fulfill...

EDIT: Now there's nice little cowplant in Goth mansion. ;)

I have a weird one... Ally the servo taking over the the cafe bakery shop. I got someone who's restocking, and said out of berry pies. Alley got in the kitchen making pies, and headed back in the room. Odd thing it said, "Out of crafted items" I checked in inventory and NONE in there! I close down the shop so the raiting won't go down to negative red spot! I got her back in the kitchen making pies, and STILL showing no items! I said, "what the heck?!" I check her inventory and NONE of the pies were made not even showing up!! This just happen last night! I'm thinking it's a glitch or something. Did anyone had this?

I have another good one... Nina Caliente just got pregnant (by Don, of course ;) with twins and she was taking a shower after work. She didn't even have time to change when morning sickness striked, so she jumped from shower to throw up naked. And just then her cellphone started ringing. xD It's amazing how sims can keep cellphones in their pokets naked.

I think poor Nina really has good luck with all things ;) last night, her first night in new home lightning striked to only tree that was on her yard and fire almost spread to the house. And now twins... *evil smile* xD

Is the Servo the one who owns the business? If the Servo doesn't own the business, then they the items will appear in the business owner's inventory.

I discovered that some of my sims (like Nervous) gets scared by bathtub... any idea why they do that?! Even the maid jumps and screams when cleaning that bathroom. Earlier there were some ghosts who took baths but that was long time ago and all ghosts are now in the local cemetery. Nervous has a picture of the tub over his head and maid has just some strange lines. Strange... but what else could you expect in Strangetown? ;)

I learned today that elixir of life doesn't extend a sims life for nearly as long as I like. I miss my founder. :[

Sounds to me like the tub still thinks it's haunted. Try selling it and buying a new one.

That's Mary Sue Pleasant with the Burb twins. I made Jennifer ask Mary Sue to babysit while they are at work, and this is the mess she managed to do. Note that 4 (!!) of those dirty diapers are that baby's who is on the ground. I couldn't believe my eyes when she kept changing her over and over and over... and over again! And right next to two changing tables! So that was the last time I use Mary Sue as nanny.

And apparently Darren Dreamer dreams about becoming a werewolf :D dream on baby, dream on and live up to your name ;)

I discovered how sucky it is to finally have all of your EPs and CC reinstalled only to have to completely uninstall your game because it keeps crashing...yeah, I know, the user files have something fishy...that's why I just completely uninstalled the whole shebang. Back to the drawing board.

Well, I've decided to just start from scratch with my CC...I have to have my Insimenator (the Apartment Life version is okay with Mansion and Garden stuff, right?), custom eyes, hair, clothes and makeup, and, of course, my Bruno created Orlando Bloom. I had 6 GB of CC, so maybe Vista isn't as friendly to CC as Windows XP was (that was what I had on my old computer)...I know something didn't sit right with it. I'll get it back, but my game was getting really fun so it totally bums me out...thanks for the hug!

I have heard that it's impossible to have more than twins in the original game without hacks/mods. And it's definitely never happened to me and I never had hacks or mods. x3

I've had completely natural triplets before- and this was when I has no custom content or hacks whatsoever!

Well, I have the Apartment Life version of Insim, which I'm assuming is the most recent version (if not, I'm screwed because the insiminator isn't available anymore) and the game was fine after I installed Insim, Orlando Baby, the warrior sword, my custom eyes, some clothes and hair (oh, and the updated default witch skins from HP). I played for a couple of days and never had any issues. Then I spent 3 days sorting and installing the content from my back-up CC folder (I got 10 GB down to 6 GB). The hacks in the folder were the disease cannon, sim killing gun, warrior sword and mx sim gift. I had put mx sim gift on one of the community lots and my sim was visiting that lot. She had just bought a cell phone and the game crashed. I suspected the mx sim gift might be the culprit, so I deleted it and loaded my game and played for awhile. Things seemed okay and I went to bed. Yesterday I went to play and after I clicked play on the little pop-up screen I got this little box with a little red X in it and a button to click okay. So I screamed and beat my head on my keyboard (not really but I wanted to :D ) , uninstalled everything and pouted for the rest of the night.

And how this relates to "what did you discover while playing the sims?" is that it makes me think about what CC is actually essential for me to enjoy my game. I think I've discovered just what I can live without in my game.

If this is a community lot, he is looking out the window and seeing the community lot phone out there. At least that looks like the community lot phone as seen by a sim. (I like watching sims look out the window. I had one who kept looking at the pool ladder. I guess he had sneaked onto this site and learned about pool ladders being removed, so he wanted to make sure his was still there. )

And stygia, I've felt a similar pain as well. My husband accidentally deleted two of my custom neighborhoods and a lot of CC I had been using on my sims.

If you store a groceries basket in a Sims inventory when the fridge gets empty s/he will autonomously restock it. Now I always make them order two batched of groceries, one for the fridge and one they keep in their inventory.

I myself use TwoJeff's Sim Blender instead of InSim, it has almost all the same functions but it's more safe, from what I have read. I think it's better supported. Maby you should try? If the problem dissappeares, then it's inSim. Just wondering, did you by any chance download custom cellphone? In my game custom cellphones cause jump-bugs every time sim tries to call. I have all expansions as well, so I think maby those cellphones just are not compatible with AL. Anyways, I hope that the problem will be solved soon! :)

I discovered today, how funny it can be to watch close when sim is watching tv... Here Donny-boy is watching cooking channel :D

Stygia, the red X in a box when starting your game means that you need to delete the groups.cache file in your sims 2 game folder. Not the program files folder. It is a common error. You game should start again no prob.

:faceslap: Oh snap...I already uninstalled my entire game! For future reference (in case this ever happens again), what is the groups.cache file and do I delete the file itself or just the stuff in it? Does that mean I had a corrupted file...what would cause this file to screw up the game? And thank you so much for that bit of info, I could just hug you! Obviously, I'm not exactly savvy about alot of this so I'm really grateful for our boards! (Yet another thing I learn because of The Sims :D )

Maranatah: I haven't had any custom cell phone skins since I installed one a few years ago and it caused my newly acquired cell phones to disappear from my sims inventory as soon as they tried calling someone. I deleted the custom skin and have never done that since. I'm very familiar with Simblender...I've used it before and like it pretty well (I downloaded it for my daughter's game and she loves it), but Insim didn't seem to be the problem. I played for several days without it crashing with Insim installed. The problem began when I put mx sim gift on a community lot and I clicked on it for my sim to use it. Within a few minutes my game started crashing. Perhaps it isn't compatible with insim. If I do find that Insim is causing issues, I'll definitely be redownloading Simblender...thanks so much! :)

All I know is that it stores some information of some kind but needs to be deleted sometimes. Delete the whole file, not just the contents, it regenerates every time you start the game.
I had a similar problem but I didn't uninstall my game, I've spent way too much time on it and I'm not losing everything!
And yeah, you learn a lot from the sims, don't you!

Oh thanks so much for the info! I learn something everytime I play the Sims...there's always some detail that's probably been there the whole time, but suddenly you notice it. I didn't know they could just go out and stargaze until last week...that was so cool!

I also have to delete those cache.files quite often, or the game won't even start. Well, stygia, if you (and hopefully you are ;) ) going to install your game again, now you know to first delete those files if there starts to be problems. I guess we all have to learn the hard way sometimes :o I remember how I used to mess up the whole game because didn't have backups and in late hours had some kind of "brilliant idea" to uninstall the whole thing and start from scratch (is that the right expression??).

Oh man, I really have these discoveries today, again. Dina C. has strange wants... she wants to kiss Darren D., even though they have never even met! Not according to her "known people"-list (or whateva). Maby those pregnancy hormons are doing some tricks on her ;) I think she will give birth today and that my mouse will click the button to have triplets... or more ;) (I have TJ's hack) And father is of course our beloved Don. :D

I also discovered, how lovely Enayla's default replacement skintones really are <3 Now even NPC's look good ;)

stygia2002
20th Jul 2009, 01:14 AM
I have never had my game do this before, so I never knew anything about the cache files. That's good info. And I'm definitely reinstalling...I was just so bummed out that I didn't want to do it yesterday...and I went hiking today so I didn't get much of a chance to get anything started in the way of rebuilding. I've discovered that playing with previously unplayed EPs turns it into a whole new game...and I'm having more fun than I was having with Sims 3, mainly because I'm just into this method of gameplay at the moment. And yes, "starting from scratch" is exactly the right expression.

I usually avoid default replacements (bad cell phone experience :D ), except in the case of HP's witch skin replacements. But anything that can even make townies look good is definitely worth checking out!

Sim artists are sensitive of their work, I have a Sim coupe where one is an artist, I’ve sold all but one of her painting which I keep right beside her easel, well her husband viewed her painting and burst out laughing and she “reacted to dislike” by crying...this kept happening until I ended up selling the painting.

Oh my gosh, that's really funny! Well, I learned awhile back that sims can almost take on lives of their own and react in quirky ways to things. I had a lady sim who had the family aspiration but she was very picky about who she was interested in. She did eventually get married and have a family, but she was a little temperamental about finding Mr. Right.

that infants in my game have strange fears. My legacy's third gen. firstborn (again... still infant!) has three fears. First: Repo-man! Second: Fire! Third: Roaches! Roaches I understand somehow, after all he is very neat already ;) but repo-man... i think he is born to be wealth aspiration.

I also discovered (thanks to a tip I saw here) that Brandi Broke does make a good couple with Cyd Roseland (?? or something), a sim-bin man who came with Pets. Now poor Brandi doesn't have to have kids with Don :D Who is really busy now, as both Caliente's have given birth to his kids. -that smallest lots (3x1) are perfect for making legacy starter home-style apartments :D I made an apartment with 5 units, apartments are 4x4 tiles and there was only a toilet and minifridge. No wall covers or floor tiles! And moved in Daniel Pleasant.

-that those sims, you don't like at all, are good for experiments... :D Daniel just had 3 fights with Mary sue who walked by, two blind dates which he payed alltogether about 40 bucks and he also tested his date's reaction to all pranks there was as option.

- And that poor Brandi Broke is not so poor anymore :D She married Cyd R., and now they moved into large rowhouse-apartment. Fairwell trailor-home!

EDIT: I just had major discovery! :anime: If a burgular comes, take his/her name down so that you remember it (it doesn't necessary show up in sims people-list). Then if something gets stolen and cop looses the fight, you can use teleport to bring that burgular back to lot (make sure pause is on), make him/her selectable with testingcheats (or some hack object, like Sim Blender) and take all your stuff back from the inventory! :D This can be done with all burgulars on the 'hood, example... ->

I just played Burbs and a burgular came just when I was quitting the game. Alarm was yelling, cop came and lost the fight and he got away. After my sims were sleeping again, I teleportet that guy back and did just like that. Luckilly he took only one chair, but Burbs are almost broke and that chair cost 400, so... :) And best part was, that I managed summon also that burgular who stoled expencive exercise-machine from Dina Caliente, so now Burbs have that too  well, she doesn't need it, I think she has enough workout with her triplets :jest:

I think I discovered why vehicles can only get covered in snow on the neighbourhood view.

If snow was allowed to land on vehicles then the inside would be filled as well as the game has no way of knowing what counts as inside the car and what counts as outside. It just sees it all as one object that happens to be outside.

When certain conditions are met, you can use a mourn interaction of the painting Bella Squared. I was in Strangetown, and the Strangetown version of Bella was a houseguest, so I don't know which of those do it. But I thought that that's a really interesting touch.

-that even when Darren Dreamer and Cassandra have dark skin, they can have a child that has lightest skin :o Although, Morti has light skin so maby it just jumped over one generation :D

-that after good make-overs some boring families/sims become more fun to play with. I must have downloaded something like 200 new hair-files and clothes today. :D Maby now I can finally get to an end in my single mother-challenge.

-that I really want to start new legacy, since the old one has become so boring that I don't want to continue that... but still I don't like to abandon it :o And that reading other players legacies gives you inspiration and ideas for your own. :)

- and that how much I like AL, even after I sweared that I woudn't get it (I read bad reviews about it). Now I can't live without apartment-living, toddler+toddler hugs and baby items (they are not in AL but I can use them with AL installed) that can be downloaded from MATY (baby gym and that seating thing).

I discovered that if you use the boolProp cheat to make your sim friends, all of those friends will call him/her, one after the other, talking about how their friendship is lacking because the cheat sets you up with the minimun of friendship points.
My sim was on the phone from 4 until 9 >.<
So if you plan on doing anything like this, click the option to let them KNOW everyone, and build up friendships so your sim doesn't spend their whole day answering the phone.

Today's discoveries:
-Grim reaper can, not only sit on the sofa watching boxing and cheering about 2 sim-hours, but after that he wanted also used toilet. I almost fell asleep while waiting him to leave so that I can exit the lot! :D I saw once before him using toilet, but that watching tv was first time in my game :)

And that some pre-made sims are so ugly, that even make-overs don't work. I was doing make-overs to Ottomas (?) family, that came with seasons and it was really painfull. Talk about challenge! So that's it, no one in that family is going to have biological kids, ever again!

EDIT: well, I was wrong :) the pond has to be little bigger than just 1 tile.
And since no one has made any new discoveries in days (?!), I have to say few. ;) I'm playing now with Beaker-family at Strangetown, they had twin-boys (now toddlers). Both toddlers have strange wants: first one wants to buy new clothes and second one wants to buy a car
I also discovered for the first time in my game, how face lift's can go wrong :D Loki (is that the husband?) used that face lift-machine that's career reward and his face went wrong twice :D Best was, when the first bad face lift was actually more good looking on him than his original look! Certain animations and cut scenes fail to work properly, and oddly enough, Sims who attempt to rest in bed will get in and out of the bed over and over and over again until they focus on some other task. My sim's roommate sat on her bed waiting for her to get out of the shower, got off the bed and went in and started sweet talking her autonomously. And I don't have any hacks for ACR or anything like that.

I also discovered that sometimes the sims in CAS can be downright creepy...especially when they seem to be scowling and angry at you...late at night, when you are alone in your basement. No, seriously, I was futzing around and, you know how they'll get goofy grins and do all of these gestures in CAS while you're changing clothes and such...mine seemed angry with me last night. They were almost scowling at me. Kinda creepy.

I've read that in TS3, sometimes when you pause the game the Sims will keep moving for a few beats, sometimes turning to stare directly at you. I never saw that before I uninstalled, but people sounded surprisingly freaked out by it so it must have looked pretty creepy.

 I'd imagine that Bruno's creation is probably one of the more popular downloads. He's one of my "must haves" and the first CC I reinstalled. :D It's weird when he looks right at me though. I've had other sims do that sometimes, but for some reason it only slightly weirds me out. I'm also a little freaked out how my sims seem to have changing moods, like real people. I haven't played the House of Fallen Leaves yet, but I'm thinking I will use it for a scary plotline. If you mean the thumbnail portrait regenerates a lot (for example, your Sims' thumbnails will change poses a lot), I'm not 100% sure this was introduced with AL, but I've definitely seen it described as a bug. There are a couple of different mods to 'fix' this, and I use one because I finally figured out that the constantly regenerating thumbnails were making my game hitch a little each time.

I discovered that I grow way too close to my sims and that they must have something against me.
Before I start this, I'm new, okay? My old laptop couldn't handle the graphics and I usually had to abandon my sims before they did anything interesting.
Anyway! I got the notification that my teen sim was going to grow up. Being a knowledge sim, her big want was to get into private school, so I get all emotional and think to myself, 'Well, gosh I owe her this...it's not like I gave into any of her other desires. I was too scared to save her from death, and I didn't want to kill off anyone else and risk an angry ghost. I'm just not ready for that kind of craziness in the only family I've been able to play for more than a simweek. And anyway, how hard could it be? I've read so many legacies where they say it's easy!'
My final score?
28/90
*facepalms*
Okay, so she was in aspiration failure. Luckily, she realized how inept I am and quickly brought up easy wants, like go fish, eat spaghetti...yeah she felt bad for me, I know.
Anyway, for her birthday, I buy all these things--hot tub, bar, pool; and I'm so excited for her, I can't stand it.
Yes, it's my first sim growing up, sorry. Sue me.
And she walks out, greets the one person who showed up *sigh* and jumps in the pool before anyone can follow her out to the party area.
So I have her mother greet the nanny and hand off the new baby and I get a message saying she grew up well.
What?! Where's my sparkles? My spinny thing? I glance away for a second and it's all over.
So. Yeah. Anticlimactic, to say the least.
Anyway, sorry for my ramble. I got so upset over it I shut the game off. Anyone else have similar experiences?

Nothing quite like that, but I know what you mean about getting attached to the little buggers. I was really excited when I got my sim William married to the sim lady he liked (yes, I look to see who they like best before I hook them up with anyone). I was ecstatic when they started a family...and horrified when the baby became a toddler. She looked like a bald Chucky doll. I was sure they'd have beautiful kids because they're both "pretty sims". Needless to say, that little girl is an only child and I'm looking forward to growing her up to see if she gets any less creepy. :D Other than that, I can't say I've been so upset that I shut off my game (in that case, I just went and played another family until I was less freaked out)

Stygia2002, did you try changing her appearance with a mirror? The family I'm playing right now, the last two kids both were bald when they grew into toddlers, so I gave them hair. And sometimes, when they're a little older, the right eye makeup can make a world of difference...

Speaking of toddlers...I learned that sometimes a parent just doesn't want to help with a birthday! Or something took me ages and a maxmotives to keep everyone in the green to get her to help the baby boy grow up, even using a cake! o_O At least now that he's selectable I can grow him up myself, but I'm planning on two more children out of that couple, and then the grandkids... *is crazy and is recreating the House of Finwe from the Silmarillion with Sims, Fingolfin's the kid in question* I'm wondering if it's a hack conflict, but if it is it's not going to be easy to test for!

On a more mundane note...yesterday I learned that you should never EVER have a toddler and a litter of puppies at the same time!

Today I realised Teen Sims can break up for no apparent reason.
I had two teen Sims (self-Sim and one based off my muse -- lal let's try this again) and I was finally getting them together. They were friends, had crushes on each other.
They go on a date and as soon as they get out of the car, this thing pops up "What?! You're dumping me?!" from both of them, and Masaru (my muse) says "This has been the most horrible date ever!" or something to that effect.
I pause, and I'm sitting there, and I'm like "wth you haven't even done anything."
Finally I got them to a point they liked each other. It only took putting my muse's lot into the lots and houses bin and replacing it. XD

stygia2002, I totally know what you mean! I started a legacy and found that my founder, Isaac, had three-bolt chem with a townie called Shanna Parker. And she was one of the more beautiful townies I have seen. So they got married, and had their first kid, Joshua, and I waited for him to become a toddler. When he did, I took me a moment before I noticed that his thumbnail looked weird. So I paused the game, zoomed on lil Joshua, and found he was one weird looking toddler. He has a tall forehead and his nose comes to the top of his lip, sort of. But he looks a ton like his mom. After a while, his appearance grew on me, so he looks sorta cute now. He's a child and he looks a bit better. I decided to wait until he's a teen to do surgery, to see if it's really that bad. His little sister just grew into a toddler and she seems to have the same sort of appearance. Oh well. Just goes to show that nothings perfect.

Unfortunately I've found that the heavily 'sculpted' downloaded Sims--the ones who look superhumanly beautiful--can make some really deformed offspring if you breed two of them together. Although sometimes it doesn't show up for a few gens. I've gotten either extremely ugly kids (very sunken eyes, stub nose, etc), or ones that have no chin at all. I'm sure it's because, like you said, I hooked up two custom sims. In my old neighborhood the Orli sim made babies with both of the Caliente sisters and 3 other sims I made in CAS (yes, he was pretty busy) and the babies were adorable. I just about died when InSim was breaking Seasons for a while, and I could either have it in the game and NOT be able to Hunt Bugs/Birdwatch, or I could remove it and NOT be able to have an instant-teleport when clicking on a destination. (I'm way too impatient to watch my sims spend an hour walking from point A to point B.)

I like Insim because I don't plan on playing every sim I make in CAS...sometimes they're just NPCs, and I don't want to have to play them for a long time to get skills and such up (especially if they're part of a storyline I'm working on). Insim is nice because I just take a few minutes to set everything where I want it, and I can get to playing my main sims.

I thought it first came with Bon Voyage? Not that I would know, because I don't have Bon Voyage.

I found out that after surviving without University for the past few months, I really can't stand it now. The only reason to have it installed, imo, is for the cow-plant and the ressurect-o-nomitron. If there was a way to only have the careers and those career rewards without the stupid wants that every teen inevitably rolls to attend Uni, I would do it. Even if it required extensive work with SimPe.

Walking to community lots was introduced in BV (and carried over to FT if you didn't have BV, and possibly AL if you didn't have BV/FT). Walking to school/work came with AL.

I've found that you can place driveways side by side, if you have enough space on the lot-instead of one in back of the other.
Also:"If there was a way to only have the careers and those career rewards without the stupid wants that every teen inevitably rolls to attend Uni, I would do it."
Have you tried Squinge's hack for "College from Home?" (probably not the right title.)-I have it in my game and it's working very well. Although it does not remove those stupid aspirations for the teens, it automatically enrolls them into college when they transition to YA, and it fulfills the want, while they're in college.
The only problem with this hack is that you have to have accompanying mods to really use it well-like TwoJeff's college adjuster. Of course it does remove the need for you to create a Uni neighborhood (and thus all those darned townies). That's about the number one reason I'm using it. Too many character files added and a PITA for playing a Uni hood.

I've learned many things in the past week.

Monday, I learned toddlers can dance to the music on the stereo, and that said dance goes perfectly to the David Crowder*Band Remix of Family Force 5's How in the World?.
Tuesday, I learned that a vampire can continue to autonomously bite a toddler/child and the child isn't turned into a vampire. It's in his memories like eight time that he bit his child.
Wednesday, I learned that said vampire, with the hair I gave him, remarkably looks like Gary Busey.
Thursday, I learned it's best to also back up your music folder along with your SavedSims, Downloads and Neighborhoods.
Today I learned nothing. XD

The game has height restrictions, not arbitrary limits on the number of stories. I found this out while playing with the terrain height tools today:

I only saved this because I was amused by its appearance. The main building is two stories with a foundation and the hillside tower is three stories with a foundation.

My doors used to stay stuck open all of the time when I first started playing the game. I then found the reason: I had placed a ceiling light just above the door opening. I've since moved all ceiling lights back one space and have never, ever had that problem again.

For all other "stuck" issues I always have luck with the "moveobjects on" cheat as rosesforme17 mentioned.

What is really weird with a servo is when you have two servos move into an empty new house together they have the normal "new house" wants to get a fridge, a toilet, and a shower or tub. They don't need any of those. And they aren't expecting any human visitors because they are in hiding. SO what do they want the appliances for? Company? (And a servo who has a bath is suicidal.)

(Servos can also "tune up" each other" which is really cute. I think humans can tune up servos too, but I had two servos who fell in love with each other and ran away from their master after my initial shock of discovering a servo with a Lifetime Want.)

Not true. It seems like that in residential, houses, and dorms in Uni as well. After around 9:50 PM, they all conk out (due to what, if I know, because the kids never seem to have the equivalent of stress or work as we do in real life). I played a Romance Sim through Uni and his LTW was to WooHoo twenty different Sims; most would still refuse to come over at nights even though their relationship score was a perfect 100/100.

I had a husband who was glitching when it came to his job (He couldn't get into the carpool or take his own car to work, but none of his vacation days went away when he ultimately didn't go). So I decided to try just moving him out and then putting him back in.

Apparently, Paranormal career pays the best — at least once you reach the top. §4,725 at level 10.

Other jobs I've seen just §1,000 or §2,000 in, maybe a §3,000 for one that I forgot.

All the scamming paid off (and with Uni, it adds the Resurrect-O-Nomitron).

Actually, the Nat science career makes more. Makes about 10,000+ simoleons in one day, but the nat science sim only has one day of work and they're gone for 24 hours or something, I think.

it really depends on how many days that sim work though. If they work more, they get less pay per day..work less, get more.

I never really understood it, tbh.

I found out that creating a roof on a house when an external wall is diagonal, is a b****.

How totally hysterical Dina Caliente is when you direct her to make the bed. She looks at you, grumbles a complaint and then just grabs the cover and tosses it up towards the pillow. No smoothing out the cover like the other sims do.

Also, Cassandra Goth is pregnant for the 2nd time and I caught her doing something she never did in her 1st pregnancy...she was standing while watching her daughter Anna play with her doll house and at one point Cassandra looked down at her pregnant belly and rubbed it for a while and smiled. It was so sweet.

The only Sims I've seen who just fling the covers up and don't smooth them out or anything are those who have 10 neat points. It's like they're sooo neat that everything they touch automatically becomes clean or made-up or whatnot LOL

You're lucky you got to see Cassandra rubbing her belly... I don't think I've ever seen that in my own Sims, and very rarely in Sim stories...

hmmm...I had a kid with Benjamin long and he was adorable until he became a teen. That was when the terrible nose showed up. There's a picture of little Kurt as a toddler over in the toddler thread. Maybe Nina Caliente, the mom, fixed up the genes a bit. I learned that not having a pc to use sims on stinks to the high heavens. But I also learned how to only install one expansion pack, when there are two games on one disk!
Edit: If you do a portrait of the pregnant sim during her second trimester, she will do that tummy-rubbing when she poses. at least, that was when it happened to me.

If you actually turn free will off for a bit, and just have the pregnant momma stand there, she should autonomously rub her belly without being posed or anything. I see it all the time. Especially in family sims though, but I've had romance sims do it a few times when given the chance.

Adding to my Benjamin Long rediscovery... His daughter is actually kind of pretty. She's not drop-dead gorgeous, but she definitely turned out better than I expected. His son on the other hand looks *exactly* like him with different hair and eye color LOL They're currently teens... the son became a townie and the daughter is the heiress (I'm doing a Matriarchal legacy).

I found out that my sim made a brick from toy making station and pet it, and wanna to teach the brick a trick?

Is it possible for a brick performing trick? :)

Spal, the brick doesn't do the trick actually, the sim does. ;) And you hardly can call it a trick anyway :D

I discovered the other day that ghosts can cry :o Never seen that before in my game.

I found out that if my sim is on a community lot and someone is playing the piano for tips she gets some of it. Was really nice since I was doing the poverty challenge and she was completely broke.
Also I found that if the sim is a total slob- having 0-1 neat points she goes digging in the trash and EATS it!!
She also was making food in the toaster on a community lot and ran off to go to the bathroom and some random guy came up to the toaster and finished cooking it.

Here are pictures of the ONLY Sim I have ever seen do this;

Don Lothario and Nina Caliente (who live together) just had twin boys!! :bunny:

It was obvious by her pregnancy that she was having twins. She started showing alot sooner than other pregnancies in my game.

She did something really weird....after she fed one of the babies and put him in the crib she turned her back on the crib and she "lectured" the baby (a description of her action appeared at the top of the screen that read "lecturing baby" or something like that) ...she started wagging her finger and saying something in a "lecturing" tone. Weird :wtf:

Also, Don's a surprisingly good Daddy...who knew?

It's probably because the baby soiled itself. It's just one of those wtf moments on the sims - scold a baby for something it can't help, but smile happily when a toddler TELLS them they need a bath because they were too busy playing blocks instead of going to the bathroom, or because they playd in the toilet all day.

I agree. I also prefer the chair over the baby gym 'cause... I know it's illogical, but I don't like the gym on the floor. In real life it makes perfect sense, but in the game I feel like a sim will step on it :x

Interesting -- in my game, I can call non-apartment Sims until 2 AM. (Double Deluxe, University life, all other expansions.)

I spotted a couple of things about the 52 Card Pickup table - they've gone to the trouble of animating the cards with the proper suits, and even the game they play is Texas Hold Em poker, but the cards have no bearing on the result! Why bother animating the cards as if they were real, having the exact rules of a real game, but not having the proper hands win? It can't be that difficult. I've had three 10s lose to an Ace high, and sims folding when they have a pair in their hand. Rather sloppy if you ask me.

I discovered that vampires will burn in the sunlight even when the windowless doors are closed and they live in a windowless, brickless house. And that if you put them in their coffin at 6:59 AM they will wake up a few seconds later because their energy is already replenished and it was night when I put them to bed. And then burn. And then go back to bed. They have a butler take care of their baby during the day (who is fifteen million times better than the nanny!)

I only see my sims bump noses. Do they do something else too? Because no matter how cool and romantic I want suck face to be, it isn't because they always hit each other and then have this exaggerated reaction.

This isn't really a discovery, so much as a rediscovery after not playing standard Maxis Sims in forever. In my current neighborhood, I have all the standard Sims, and my legacy founder married Benjamin Long... My rediscovery: that man makes the ugliest babies ever :P Ok, not ever... I have seen worse, but oy... these twins are scary. Plus they're only toddlers and they already have the face of an adult LOL

He made two beautiful daughters in my game. One is a complete clone of him and I think she looks alright. I'll find some pics. :bunny:

It's one of my favorite cut scenes. There's just something so normal about it, and my sim always picks the sim I want them to have in the video with them (when they must choose between besties with all the same level of relationship).

Apparently Lilith Dreamer (she married Dirk) has the worst pregnancy ever. She is expecting her first baby and on the day 1 she nearly died because of hunger, then she wet her pants, then she threw up causing the hunger go down again and finally she fainted in kitchen floor. My 3rd generation sim Astrid has recently had triplets. Adam, April and Sookie (yeah, yeahXD) and they have just turned toddler. So, yesterday I was playing Sims 3 and I had just downloaded AwesomeMode. (It's awesome!) I had done up my own specialized settings and noticed Pedophile, I was like "Wtf? I already know how to make pedos without a mod." But I decided to have it anyway, just to see the difference.. BIG DIFFERENCE-- they go to JAIL. o_o I was SHOCKED and in awh at it. I still am! And am quite angry too.

See, to make a pedo without having AwesomeMode all you have to do is make two teens, have them fall in love, have them become boyfriend/girlfriend, then make one of them age up. They won't be able to kiss 'n shiz, BUT, if you have the teen woohoo mod then they can woohoo. I found that rather sweet(in an INNOCENT WAY) because well, love has no boundaries. Or at least to those that believe in it. (Am not one that does. ;D Am quoting a sister.) Anyhoozer. So then I got the AwesomeMode pedophile thing all downloaded and they CAN now kiss and flirt and such... But he goes to JAIL. Wtttttffffffffffhhhhh? Wouldn't the cops find it a little more DISGUSTING that they are woohooing?? (Note: I have yet to try woohooing as a pedophile yet because, well, HE IS STILL IN EFFIN' JAIL)

Anyway, that's what I found out today-- or at least realized just now-- Pedo in AwesomeMode, sucks. Dx (It wouldn't suck if the cops did not pop out of NO WHERE with their psychic powers of KNOWING a Young Adult is flirting with a Teen!)

That's one hell of a first post. You join and the first thing you can think about to talk about is pedo's? I always felt the introduction threads were the best start. Hi and welcome anyways :) EDIT: You waited a long time to post! XD

I learned that children are manlier than husbands.

I downloaded the teen Nanny hack, and I made three sims to kill off the elder nannies. A dad, a mom, and a child. The husband's name is Nannykiller. rofl

Anyhoo, I named the event in my game 'the Nannylenic Wars'. Two were killed.

The wife, Anna, was an accident. (I meant to make her, use the make baby option, then delete her, just leaving NK and Jake, their child.) So, I killed her via boolProp with hunger, and explained to myself that there was a famine in the Wars. Obviously, son and husband cried. After crying once, the action disappeared for the child. NK cried three times, and after I made the house, he greeted somebody then cried again.

I honestly don't understand why Jake is so calm when NK is sobbing every few seconds.
