Having been greatly underwhelmed by Simcity 4000 and Simcity Societies I've got back into Simcity 3000 recently.
I've got a city and have got into a bit of a cashflow problem (I have a road festish), so have had to accept some business deals. I've been able to work out how to mitigate the negative effect of most of the buildings:
Toxic Waste Recyling Plant - put it on the edge of your map (so that most of the pollution goes to your neighbour and therefore is not your problem :nana: ), plant tries around it and maybe a park to increase land value
Maximum Security Prision - Either near edge of map or on an industial zone. Again, parks nearby raise land value
Casino - Two police stations either side reduce the crime rate. Actually seems to increase land value of commercial properties slightly.
But cannot for the life of me work out how to combat the negative effects of the GigaMall:
Gigamall
Income: §300
Negative Effects: Traffic upheaval, causing some pollution, landvalue will dwindle, and it will really reduce the commercial demand.
Does anybody have any tips on how to combat the negative effects? Particularly the Commercial problem?
I need the cash from the deal, but I miss my shops :weep:
