Anita (the black girl) just moved out from home. I want her to become a jazz musician, but because she is too poor to buy any instruments (the 4x3 box in the background is her house), she's getting her upkeep from rapping. And the only way to have enought people hanging around is by opening a business. The woman with the red hair is her mother. The moment she came for a visit she started poking and slapping the guy in the suit, they had two fights - and when she was done with him she started poking the other woman. Her dad just bought her a :guitar: so Anita can stop rapping now.

Apart from the fact that the credit list would take forever to compile, a large part of it is pay content, which I would have to remove for MTS2 to accept it. I actually didn't base it off my local aquarium, but given that my memories usually work themselves into what I build (and I've only been to two or three aquariums in my life), I wouldn't be surprised if there were some similarities.

All the businesses are amazing! The donut shop is my favorite. It's so creative looking and pretty. I made an art gallery today, but it's nothing special so I won't share a picture of it. My sim just likes to paint so thought she would like to sell paintings too.

This is Quinn Duffy's fresh produce and fish shop. Now that she's retired she upgraded it from a little roadside stand to a full-fledged shop above the garage.

These are the stairs up, there's an entrance to a bathroom there as well. Can't have an elder running all the way back to the house every time she's got to go ya know :lol:

Before she retired, Quinn was an Adventurer. Space Pirate, actually. The Tiki Idol is hers and she thought it looked cute in her shop. Plus it has this interesting effect of making shoppers stay longer in better moods... This is a department store. It was built as a film set, so there's only this room and I didn't decorate the exterior. But I started playing it as a real business once I stopped filming.

It is one of the smallest lot, and it is on a community lot. It just have two chairs and two sofas and only one employee other then the owner, so it is a really small shop. I think that the trollies and the shelfs (from simsplan-x.com) makes it look more real. I don't know if it will be able to make any money - that tend to be the hard part, but they are fun to run.

Yeah, beauty salons tend to start slow because your sims need to build up the makeover skill or whatever it's called. But they eventually become profitable.

My latest community business, the Investments Bank. :rofl: It's basically a shop, it sells the investment silver by Worship4ever0227 (@ MTS). I hated letting the sims to buy lots of useless clutter, so I decided that investmetnts are a good way for them to spend the money. And I figured they can be passed along to kids when they move out as extra money.

I downloaded the motel from Caravan Sims and renovated and decorated it then decided it was too big so I made another. It's still bigger than some like but I wanted to maintain the look and couldn't really figure out how to go smaller.

I don't know if anyone noticed my absence in the pictures forum the past couple of months, but there's been a reason for it. I've been simultaneously working on three huge projects and am pleased to announce the completion of the first one!

Northshore Mall is a fairly large community lot for sims who love to shop, want lots of variety, and/or are simply looking to fill all their shopping needs in just one stop. It's also a great hangout place for teens.

I took 18 photos, (which I've meticulously organized into four groups to post), so please bear with me while I bombard you all with them over the next few days. :)

First, an overview, so you can get a good idea of the overall size and placement. There are seven boutiques, a food court (with three restaurants), one kiosk and a department store.

Well, this isn't a shop or a business, but it is a community lot, so I hope that counts! (Didn't know where else to post this.)

I had been wanting to make a park for the longest time and got inspired a few days ago by the new sports objects that came with Free Time. I finished this yesterday and am really happy with the way it turned out.

Purplepaws, you inspired me to make this "community lot". My sister, Kiare, and I build this European Football club. It is a small community Football club, so they just play for fun and they don't have a lot of money or anything.

Lillubi, thank you. It's the biggest lot size. One or two of the shops are slightly too large so I cut them down in size with internal walls (also, all the top floors are empty facades).

Fantasyrogue, what a beautiful park! I just love the playground area and those tropical trees surrounding it! It looks like a great place to fish and go roller skating, too. Everyone's businesses inspire me to be a little more patient when it comes to decorating my Sims businesses. And I also love some of your ideas for businesses, as well!

Collectively, my Sims highest interest right now is sports. So I made them a sports bar they could hangout in.
