The Kilo Family Poverty Challenge *THE END*

Hey everyone, Im starting a new story! Although it says "Poverty Challenge" in the subject title, I will only be using the challenge rules as guidelines. That means that there will be some different and "illegal" things about the story which do not exactly follow the rules of the challenge (For example: If my sim kiddies want to go to college, they shall go to college). But ALL MONEY RULES are the same. The Kilo Family started out with only $100.

So here is The Kilo Family Poverty Challenge!

Introduction

This is Khai Kilo. Khai has always been somewhat of a flower-child and has always embraced the whimsical side of his personality. After four years at Academie Le Tour, Khai graduated with the highest of honors. After moving back to Summerset, Khai looked high and low for a place to call his home. When he finally found the perfect place to start his life, Khai spent a couple of weeks trying to settle back into Summerset and into a whole new life as an adult.

Chapter 1

Here is a small, closer look into Khai Kilo's recent past...

Well, Khai was always the quiet type. He never spoke up in class, but he was always a top A student. His disposition was one of strength and tenderness, ambition and hope. Khai's mother and father wanted nothing more than to raise their son to follow in their "natural footsteps." But Khai never felt as though their lives and their beliefs were very important. That's why Khai decided to attend college at Academie Le Tour. He spent most of his free time on the bubble blower.

So when Khai graduated with the highest of honors with a degree in Biology, he moved back to Summerset and set up a life for homself which brings us back to the present. After only a few days, Khai buckled down and looked in the paper. He found a job in the medical field and quickly proceeded to take the job. In fact, it wasn't long after Khai was promoted all the way to Cheif of Staff, fulfilling a lifetime want. Yes, Khai acheived the forever platinum status only a few days into adulthood. He felt great.

It was because he felt so great about his accomplishment that he started spending more and more time outside enjoying the long summer days. Khai loved spending time outside... In fact, he spent most of his life outside as a young boy. Hippie parents, remember? Anywho, it wasn't until that fateful Tuesday that he met her.

Khai and Dagmar hit it off well, and the two started seeing each other regularily when Khai would make it a point to sit outside every time Dagmar would deliver his mail. So the weeks flew by and the two love birds finally found themselves falling in love with each other.

Khai and Dagmar exchanged the sweetest of words day after day. About a week after they fell in love, Khai kissed her for the first time. They both smiled into the small kiss, and Khai couldn't believe the overwhelming feeling he had in his heart as he held her close.

Dagmar pulled away and smiled dreamily into Khai's eyes. He was her dream man. Not only was he ambitious, Khai was so loving and cared so much about her. Dagmar thought to herself that this could be the man who could change her past romance aspirations into family aspirations. That night when Khai dropped to his knee, Dagmar was too happy to speak.

Tixi... Well Im so happy that you are growing fond of Khai. I loved him from the moment I created him, and I knew that I just HAD to incorporate him in a story.

Chapter 2

Dagmar couldn't have been more happy than she was the moment that Khai asked her to be his wife. It was like Khai could see nothing other than Dagmar's beautiful face shining in the moonlight when he asked her, and he knew that there wouldn't be one, single day that he would ever regret asking her to be his. Khai was on cloud 9.

When Dagmar eagerly accepted Khai's proposal, she moved into the home. She brought with her a good chunk of money, so the two recently-engaged love birds decided to add onto Khai's small abode. Since in the past, it was just him living in the home, there was only one small bed and not nearly enough room for even a small table and chairs. But with their money now combined, they built another small wing onto their home, including a brand new little car.

When Khai had quit his job from being the Cheif of Staff at Summerset Hostiptal, he decided that it was time to buckle down and start the family of his own that he has always wanted. The night that Dagmar returned home from her job, Khai met her outside to slip a small, simple wedding band on her finger, making Dagmar his wife.

Dagmar returned the action by slipping a matching wedding band on Khai's finger. They smiled lovingly at each other before sealing the marriage proposal with a meaningful kiss. When they broke apart, Khai remembered that he and Dagmar would be able to WooHoo. Finally!

Needless to say, Khai was happier the next morning than he had been in a LONG time. Dagmar and Khai could not seem to keep their hands off each other, whether it was a fleeting touch or WooHooing. On their days off, they usually found themselves in each other's arms.

As you can see, Khai is a little more cleaned up. Dagmar had told Khai that he needed to cut his hair and was annoyed that hid beard made him look like an old man. Khai visited the local barbar shop and did as his wife wished. He liked the look... Plus it wasn't as scratchy. The new, cleaner look definitely increased Dagmar's want to WooHoo...

They WooHooed on every spare occation, which made for an extremely happy and blissful Khai. Dagmar felt as though her life was so on-track now that she was married to Khai that she quit her job as a mail carrier and got a job in the Military career track so they could start making more money. This move turned out to be right on time as Dagmar felt her stomach expand as she stood from the couch.

Khai felt as though he was about to burst when he layed eyes on the tiny bump under his wife's shirt. They clutched onto each other as they shared a congratulatory hug on their new soon-to-be addition to the family. Khai was so nervous and excited at the same time that he put his extreme cleanliness to the test as he cleaned nearly everything in the house!

Throughout the last couple days of her pregnancy, the General or Summerset called Dagmar and invited her to stay home until the baby was born. The two soon-to-be parents were thrilled that she would get some time off before and after the baby was born. During these last couple of days, Dagmar felt as though she was the only person in Khai's life. Her heart completely melted every time Khai would lean over and gently rub her big belly as he sang lightly to their unborn baby.

Chapter 3

Dagmar was simply glowing as she held up to the light her newborn baby. Khai clasped his hands together and watched as his beautiful wife held their tiny bundle of joy. Khai smiled when Dagmar asked what they should name their new baby, and Khai simply said "Parker."

Khai was so excited about having a baby that he went to work immediately on finishing the nursery. He had been working so hard on it lately that he nearly missed the birth of his son if he hadn't have hear Dagmar's screams in the room next to him. The two proud parents stood in the door of the nursery and smiled at the tiny room.

The next couple of days flew by in a flash. Being parents sure was tough! The General of Summerset had told Dagmar to take some more days off until she was feeling 100% again, so Khai decided to get a temporary job in the Artist career track. Because he had graduated from college, he was able to get a very high-paying job right away which helped the family a lot.

Dagmar loved staying at home with baby Parker. She thought he was the cutest little baby she has ever laid eyes on. Khai was happy to see little Parker's reddish eyebrows and big brown eyes... He had gotten something from each of them.

Every day after Khai returned hom from his job, he rushed in the house to give Dagmar a quick peck on the lips and cuddle with his new baby boy. This was the life he had always wanted. Dagmar would turn baby Parker towards his father, and Khai would stand and talk to him very often.

When baby Parker's birthday rolled around, Dagmar set to work on baking a birthday cake for their little one. Although Parker wouldn't be able to eat the cake while he was a baby, they knew he would enjoy it after her transitioned into a toddler. Happy Birthday Parker!

Khai, Dagmar and Parker had the time of their lives on the day of his Birthday. Dagmar knew that Parker would take after his father as he was already nearly walking and crawling over everything! Khai chuckled to himself when he found little Parker on top of the kitchen counter and walked over to take him down before Dagmar saw and got to worried.

I love Dagmar! She married a sim in my poverty challenge, and had really beautiful children. She also had nearly all her skills maxed, and the ones that weren't were the easy ones (creativity and logic), she was the resident cook and repairperson in the house. The romance sim aspect of her didn't get in the way too much with my family either, she mostly focused on things for her husband, the most trouble I had from it was when she got a crush on her sister-in-law's husband.

Chapter 4

After Parker's Birthday, things for Khai and Dagmar started to get back into the normal pace. Khai was unemployed again, but Dagmar was doing rather well climbing the ladder in the Military career track. Khai was so proud of her. Dagmar came home one evening with the biggest smile Khai has ever seen on her face because she had personally received a promotion from the General of Summerset himself! She was simply beaming.

Because Dagmar was gone so much with her new promotion, Khai was rather happy that he was unemployed at the moment so that he could stay at home and raise Parker. He taught little Parker many things, and in no time at all Parker was nearly walking on his own!

In fact, because Dagmar was gone for such long shifts Khai had to manage Parker on his own. For never being a dad or even watching someone take care of a little toddler, Khai though he was doing a pretty good job. He even learned how to make Macaroni and Cheese for Parker! Yes, things were going well.

The day that Dagmar came home to find little Parker walking was another big day in the young couple's life. Khai could barely stand it as Dagmar jumped up and down trying to keep her secret to herself. Finally she put up a finger as to motion 'hang on' and then it happened...

Dagmar was pregnant!!!

Khai was so overjoyed about his lovely wife being pregnant that he almost forgot about little Parker's Birthday! Yes, today he would be transitioning into childhood. Khai was so proud of his little man (that's what he always called Parker), and he decided to wow both his little man and Dagmar with his baking abilities. Khai baked his first ever layer cake for Parker's Birthday. Mmmm it was good too!

Dagmar was getting tired earlier now because she had the baby to think about, so she waddled off into her room to slip into her jammies while Khai and Parker talked about anything and everything. As Dagmar slipped into her jammies, she thought about how hard it would be now to keep up her new busy hours at her job and still take the time to spend with her two children. But she was determined to make it work.

She waddled back into the living room where Khai was putting away all the dishes and Parker was sitting on the couch watching TV. Dagmar sat down gingerly next to her son and reached over, pulling him close to her. She knew that she wouldn't be able to do this when he was a teenager! She loved her son. And she loved Khai. Life was going well indeed.

The next couple of days went by rather fast. Dagmar was put on maternity leave AGAIN (which she did not like very much), and Khai went out and got a temporary job cleaning houses in the meantime to support her and the kids. Parker won the spelling bee at school, and the two parents threw him a little party to show him just how proud of him they were.

After they had eaten a filling meal of hotdogs and french fries, Dagmar stood up quickly. She eyed Khai and he stepped in front of her. He asked if it was time, and Dagmar nodded her head. The two asked Parker to wait in his room while Dagmar gave birth to their second child. A healthy... baby... BOY!

Chapter 5

Khai and Dagmar spent the next couple of years together in complete and utter bliss. Khai was back working in the Artist career track as a canvas stretcher while Dagmar was making loads of money as an officer in the Army. The two boys, Parker and Lucas, were growing up so fast!

Parker was enjoying high school and had a lot of friends, although he never really dated much in school. He spent most of his time trying to make friends as popularity was very important to him. Lucas on the other hand was flourishing in many areas of his life but was struggling with school. He said that while he was in class there was always something else on his mind besides school.

Khai and Dagmar did their best to encourage Lucas to try harder in school, and Lucas certainly tried his best. But everyone always knew in the back of their heads that Lucas would never be a top A student. They never told this to Lucas, but rather they praised him for all his good, average grades. As long as he was trying his best, Khai and Dagmar were alright.

Because the boys were getting so big, Khai went to work on his off days building a new room for his sons. Parker was really into science fiction, and Lucas was into whatever Parker was into. He really looked up to his older brother. So Khai built their room and painted the walls black so the boys could pin up all sorts of posters all over their walls.

The boys loved it! Khai was so proud of himself and felt even better when Dagmar said congratulations after she looked the room over. Khai had a smile plastered on his face for days after he had finished the boys' room. Because of his permanent good mood, Dagmar suddenly felt something familiar happening...

The two lay in bed talking about their boys and wondering if they would be able to afford the new baby when Dagmar stood from the bed. Khai looked over and jumped out of bed, taking a stance behind his wife. Dagmar clenched her fingers into little fists and tried to control her breathing as she gave birth to her third child.

Khai and Dagmar welcomed their third son into the family with cheers and hollers. They were thrilled to have another bundle of joy, and the two boys were equally as thrilled. Khai took baby Matthew from Dagmar's arms and gently placed him in the crib before sitting down on the couch. He talked to Dagmar for a while about the new baby, and they both decided that Khai would keep his job to earn some more money for the family.

When the boys came home from school the day after their baby brother was born, they made sure to set aside some time to play with little Matthew. Lucas was still too young to hold his little brother, but Parker took baby Matthew outside so the three brothers could bond a little before dinner. They sure were good to little Matthew.

It was that night that Parker decided to talk to his father about college. Because Khai was a knowledge sim himself, it was really important that all of his children get a good education. Parker told his father that he wished to become an influencial man in Politics, and Khai was happy with this.

Having a life in Politics was sometimes hard, but Parker was a hard worker. Khai knew that he would do well in college and acheive his dreams rather easily. Parker talked to his father about going to Academie Le Tour, which pleased Khai greatly because that was the college where he graduated from. Khai hugged his oldest son, and Parker walked over to the phone to call about scholarships.

Khai thought about everything that Parker had told him. His som was growing so much, and Khai couldn't have been more proud. He snuggled into bed after talking to Dagmar about everything and kissing his three boys goodnight. He was certainly going to sleep well tonight.

Chapter 7

Dagmar woke up very excited remembering that her oldest son was leaving for college in the evening, PLUS it was baby Matthew's Birthday! She walked into the bathroom to take a shower where she found Khai shaving. Dagmar's eyes popped out of her head. SHAVING?!?! She could hardly believe her eyes as she watched Khai's face starting to show...

Khai smiled through the thick, foamy shaving cream. He told Dagmar that he thought it was time for a change... Plus the boys had been teasing him about looking too old for his age. Dagmar chuckled and hopped in the shower after Khai was finished.

The boys liked his new look, and Parker said that he actually looked his age. "Plus dad, the hippie look is totally out of style," Parker added with a giggle. Khai just laughed along, wondering if any of his children would ever look like he did in his college years...

As the commotion of little Matthew's Birthday subsided, the whole family sat down for a while and talked about Parker leaving and starting a whole new life in college. When the taxi pulled up, Parker kissed his parents goodbye and then kissed his two younger brothers on the cheek and walked out the door. Parker drove off to Academie Le Tour, leaving behind his parents and his two younger brothers.

Chapter 8

When Parker arrived at his rented property in Academie Le Tour, he immediately called the registrar to declare his major in Economics. Because he wanted so badly to climb the Politics career ladder, he thought that this major would help him achieve that quickly.

It wasn't before long that Parker had gotten into the swing of things, and he was really starting to enjoy college. Although he was getting perfect A+ grades, he felt as though something was missing. Until he met her, that is. Her name was Laci...

Laci was honestly the most beautiful woman that Parker had ever seen in his entire life. He grew very close to her very quickly, and he started to invite her over between their classes. It seemed to Parker as though Laci was very comfortable around him. They even played together and had pillow fights like they were kids again! It made college very bearable.

Back at home, Lucas was already a teenager! He was getting along fine in High School, but definitely not as well as Parker did was he was in High School. But Khai and Dagmar realized that all their boys were going to be very different from each other, so they knew that they must treat them differently. Lucas was enjoying hanging out with his skater friends, and he was still into science fiction like Parker had been.

Lucas was also certainly flourishing with the ladies in his class. There was one girl in particular that he liked named Gretchen. The two love birds would get together nearly every day, and they soon were going steady. Lucas felt like a million bucks when he was with her. He even had his very first kiss with Gretchen.

Well, Parker soared through college with flying colors and was only two days from graduating from Academie Le Tour with the highest of honors, just like his father. Laci was graduating at the same time as Parker, and they had grown very fond of each other. They had kissed for the first time the other night, and it was really all Parker could think about.

When Parker got home, all he could think about was inviting Laci over so she could meet his parents, but he wanted to get settled first. The first thing that Parker noticed was that little Matthew was a child now! He was so handsome and was looking more and more like Khai and Parker every day.

After Parker had unpacked and everything, he talked to his parents about Laci. They seemed so happy for their son which made inviting Laci over so much easier. Parker kissed his now elderly mother and father before dashing to the phone and calling up his girlfriend. Yes, Khai and Dagmar were certainly proud of their son.

Parker waited outside for his girlfriend to come over. He was excited and nervous all at the same time because he didn't know what his family would think of her. But he knew that he loved her, and that was all that really mattered. Parker smiled as he saw Laci, and he quickly pulled her in for an excited kiss.

Chapter 8 - Continued

The first time Khai and Dagmar met Laci, they liked her immediately. Who couldn't? She was sweet and so very friendly, and she was absolutely darling. Parker knew that this was the girl that he was going to marry. Later that night, Parker dropped to one knee and asked Laci to be his wife.

Matthew was always trying to fool everyone! He had gotten his first A+ which he and the whole family was extremely proud of. The same day Matthew got his first A+ was also the day that Parker's helicopter flew into the street to pick him up for work. He was now the co-Mayor of Summerset!

When Laci woke up to feel her husband's arms tightly curled around her stomach, she smiled and snuggled into the pillow again. Thats right, Laci was pregnant with her and Parker's first child. The bump in her stomach had suddenly popped out one sunny afternoon, and Laci was a little relieved that everything was alright with her - She was just pregnant! She called Parker while he was at work, and he was so excited that he cut his day short to congratulate his wife.

Laci was a little moody for the next couple of days, but everyone in the house tried their best to make her life as stress-free as possible while she was still pregnant. Dagmar especially knew how important this was in order to give birth to a healthy baby boy... or girl. Matthew, who was now a teenager, loved to poke and sing and rub Laci's belly. He was a very gentle young man.

It wasn't a day later that Laci felt her stomach tying up into knots... She knew it was time. Ironically, everyone but her and her husband, Parker, were away from the house, so the two had a private and rather quiet setting for the birth of their first son... or daughter.

Dagmar let Parker set baby Nathan in his crib so that he could sleep a little bit before everyone came home to see him. Khai and Dagmar talked to their children about baby Nathan, and said that they were so proud of the two young parents. Everything was just so wonderful!

When Lucas got home from school, he didn't say much about the baby. Not that he wasn't happy by any means, but he was a little preoccupied with a certain someone... Yes his girlfriend Gretchen was over and was stealing away all his attention.

But when Matthew came in the house, he snuck into the baby's room and tucked his nephew under the soft blankets. He was so happy for his brother and Laci, and he literally coudn't stop talking about Nathan. When they heard the little baby, Dagmar and Matthew went into his room to steal some of his time away from his parents.

The night after baby Nathan was born, Lucas had decided that it was about time that he left for college. Although he really didn't want to go to college, he knew that his father would be very upset if he didn't. Lucas managed to scrape together about $2,000 in scholarships, and he was off to La Fiesta Tech.

Chapter 10

Well, the days have sure flown by in the Kilo household... Khai and Dagmar were still working nearly every day, and Parker and Laci were busy raising their little boy. They decided that they were only going to have one child, so Nathan was their first and last. Matthew was practicing more and more for basketball, and he actually won a scholarship for playing basketball at Sim State University, which was Matthew's first choice of colleges. Baby Nathan was now a toddler, and was eager to learn everything new!

Lucas was now home from college... Oh how the years go by. Khai and Dagmar were so proud that their second son had graduated from college with his 4 year degree. I mean, how much could one really know about grilled cheese? So Lucas was back home for a couple of days until Khai was fed up with his laziness...

Chapter 11

Back home at the Kilo house, things were swinging along... But some things that were happening lately were definitely not good things. Khai had turned 68, and received a visit from the Grim Reaper.

Dagmar was heart-broken. She stood in their room and watched through her tears as the Grim Reaper floated towards Khai and checked something on a dingy clipboard. Dagmar hung her head as Khai gently reached for the summery drink which the Grim Reaper was holding out for him.

Dagmar stood in her empty room. Khai was gone, and she had to care for all three of her children AND grandchildren alone. She was comforted by the thought that they were getting older and getting jobs of their own. Dagmar sighed heavily and thought of what she would have to tell the children.

On a lighter note, Matthew had now graduated from college! His scholarship he recieved for Sim State University carried him all the way through 4 years. He had origionally wanted to major in something having to do with sports, but after thinking about it thoroughly, he decided on an Economics major. It was his lifetime aspiration to become a business tycoon.

While Matthew was in college, he met someone as well. Her name was Tiffany Sampson, and she was a member of the Tri Var Sorority. She was the most beautiful girl on campus, in Matthew's opinion. They spent their entire senior year together. After graduation, they both moved into the Kilo home to start their life together.

Dagmar welcomed Matthew and Tiffany back into the house with open arms, although her heart and head were somewhere completely different. She couldn't stop thinking about Khai. She would sit in her room and stare at their bed, thinking about all the good times they had together - intimate and other. She was definitely taking her husband's death hard.

But Khai was certainly making the rounds around the house. Every night, his tiny urn would shake and sputter and out would pop the ghost of Khai! He would watch over Dagmar, but he was certainly not happy when he would see his children or little Nathan act out. He kept things clean even in his afterlife.

Chapter 12

Tiffany said yes! Matthew couldn't believe how happy he was as he heard Tiffany accept his proposal. She lept into Matthew's arms and they kissed through tears of joy. They grabbed each other's hand and ran into the house, busting to tell everyone the good news! Dagmar didn't say much, but she was all smiles and completely overjoyed that her son was getting married to such a wonderful woman. Little did everyone know that the reason Dagmar hadn't said much was because she was not feeling to well...

Little Nathan didn't know what was happening as he saw the big, grey hooded man waft over the lawn and towards his grandmother. He knew that Dagmar was alright, because she was now going to be with Grandpa Khai forever. He ran his fingers through his hair and hugged his father's leg as everyone watched Dagmar dissappear into the mist.

Everyone in the house tried to keep their spirits high, especially for little Nathan. He didn't quite understand what all was going on, so they didn't want to confuse him any more than he already was. Dispite all the sadness, Matthew and Tiffany tried and tried for a little bundle of their own. And one day...

Tiffany was pregnant! Matthew was surprised at how many times it took them until she finally became pregnant, but he was overjoyed as well. Laci was talking to Tiffany almost every day about having a baby and then raising it. It was definitely hard work. Therefore Tiffany thought it was best to put her career on hold for the moment until she had more free time to work after the baby was born.

Everyone in the house was buzzing about the gender of the baby. Since there was such a long line of boys in the Kilo family, everyone was wondering if the string would be broken or if they would in fact have another baby boy in their midst. Tiffany was not worried about the gender, but Matthew was hoping for a little girl.

The day that Tiffany's bump grew to its final stage was the day that both Parker and Laci grew into elders. Their transition went well, and the now elderly couple were happy that they were still together after so many years.

Nathan was now a child and was on the very edge of becoming a teenager. In fact, he was only one day away from his birthday! He was a bright young boy, and he always did very well in school. He was interested in Art and actually won an Art Award for an outstanding painting of a family portrait. Parker and Laci were very proud of him.

Matthew was SO excited that the birth of his first child was so near that he got to work building a small nook onto his and Tiffany's bedroom for the little baby. He still wanted a little girl badly. In fact, he was so excited about having a little girl that he built the nook and furnished it completely in pink and frills... just like a baby girl would want.

It was time! Matthew ran through the house towards a screaming Tiffany. She was clutching her stomach as she let out another scream, and Matthew asked if he could do anything. Tiffany just shook her head and told him that the baby was almost here. With a whoosh and another tiny scream, Matthew and Tiffany became parents for the first time in their lives. Matthew took his little baby from his wife's arms and looked at her.

"It's a girl," she told him.

Chapter 13

Well time was sure flying by in the Kilo household... Nathan was now a teenager and was loving every second of it! The day of his birthday, Parker let him take the car out to the Summerset Strip to pick up some new duds. He bought a few new things including a cell phone and handheld game. He was always on that thing! Yes, Nathan was growing up to be a fine looking young man.

Baby Kayla was now a toddler! Matthew and Tiffany were so proud of their little girl... she already knew how to walk! Although she was walking and nearly speaking, Tiffany still stayed home days to teach her daughter new and exciting things, which Kayla always seemed to enjoy. But if Tiffany didn't keep a close eye on her, everytime she would turn around she would see Kayla reaching into her toybox and pulling out a new toy. Matthew came home every day with a new toy for her.

Kayla was loved dearly by the women in the Kilo family. Not to say that the men didn't love her, but she got the most attention from the women who knew what a refreshing suprise she was when Tiffany gave birth to her (and not another boy). It seemed as though no one could get enough of her!

Remember Lucas? Well, he was certainly dissappointed by the news of his parents passing away, but he was happy to hear about Matthew getting married and about having a new neice. Lucas' home was on the outskirts of Summerset, so he wasn't able to make it over to the house that much anymore. The family missed him of course, but he was trying to make a life of his own as well.

And especially after hearing the news about his parents, Lucas was driven into a deep depression... He went a little nutso! Because his love of grilled cheese had increased dramatically over the years following his college graduation, he couldn't seem to get any other part of his life in order - He was ALWAYS worried about perfecting each and every one of his grilled cheeses.

One bright and sunny day, Lucas met a young woman named Brandi. She was so baurtiful, and Lucas was immediately attracted to her. He knew that because she was still a teenager, he would have to be extremely careful getting to know her as to not upset her parents. It felt so good for Lucas to talk to someone else who was interested in the same things as he was.

He promptly invited Brandi inside for an afternoon snack, and she kindly accepted. Lucas rushed into the kitchen and started his famous grilled cheese.

Brandi smiled as Lucas handed her a plate of grilled cheese, and she complimented him on how tasty they were. Lucas was only about two bites into his first grilled cheese when he started to feel a strange little pain in his stomach. He never felt this way after eating grilled cheese... He LOVED grilled cheese! The pain intestified, and Lucas fell to his knees.

I tried to make him go to bed so that he could get some rest, but NO! he wanted grilled cheese. Literally halfway through a sandwitch, he got up, put his plate on the floor and keeled over. *tear* Sad I know... But I didnt cheat, it just happened.

Chapter 14

The news about Lucas' death was a shock to everyone in the Kilo house. Parker was most effected by the terrible accident, but he tried to stay as calm and collected around everyone as possible; he didn't want everyone to be more sad than they should. Plus there was still young children in the house who didn't completely comprehend what was going on. Parker would retire to an empty room and cry softly as he remembered his younger brother.

Matthew never spent a whole lot of time with Lucas. When they were younger, he was always so involved with sports while Lucas was so involved in girls. Matthew remembered how much he loved Gretchen and wondered what ever happened to her... He was pretty torn apart by Lucas' death.

Although things were hard, the Kilo family pressed on. Matthew was determined to help his daughter, Kayla, grow up well. He wanted his wife to know that everything was alright. That was one reason why Matthew didn't tell her that he was demoted to from co-Mayor of SUmmerset to the President of a major company in the neighborhood. He didn't want to upset her.

As Matthew and Tiffany had some "fun" in their room that night, Kayla was busy thinking. She was now a child and had a very serious and mature outlook on life even at such a young age. She already knew that she wanted to attend college where her grandfather went, and she knew that she wanted to do something in the medical field when she was older.

As the long days dragged on, things were changing around the Kilo house. While Laci was still working hard as a celebrity chef, Parker had decided that he was too tired to work anymore (taking into consideration his old age and weak bones). Parker therefore decided to retire from a life of crime.

Nathan bleached his hair and went off to college. He was attending La Fiesta Tech like Lucas had years ago, and he was loving every minute of it! The thing Nathan loved most about college is how loose college girls are. In fact, he never saw one of them drink more than two drinks and (most) were always ready to go! Nathan loved his life.

Things were also happening between Matthew and Tiffany. Matthew thought that everything was going alright with him and Tiffany, but she had been acting so strangely lately. Matthew would sometimes drive Kayla to school just so that he could spend a little time away from his wife, thinking that maybe she just needs some time alone. He hoped that nothing was wrong...

Chapter 15 - Final Chapter! Part 1

Matthew smiled from ear to ear as he heard his wife tell him that she was going to have another baby. Matthew reached for her and hugged the living daylights out of her, being careful of her tummy of course. The couple couldn't be happier!

The next couple of days went by pretty quickly. The fast pace of the Kilo's lives had taken recently lead to Matthew slacking off slightly... He was late to work several times because Kayla was late for school. Every time Matthew would have to take her to school, he would be a little late for work. Therefore, Matthew was demoted.

Tiffany reassured Matthew that everything would be alright. After all, they were still living with Parker and Laci both of whom had jobs. Matthew was determined to get his title back and worked extra hard. Tiffany, on the other hand, was working hard to stay healthy.

When Tiffany's belly popped out, she and Matthew decided that they had better tell Kayla that she was going to have a new baby brother or sister. When the two sat down and talked to her, Kayla responded very well. She was actually very happy to have someone to spend her time with. Matthew gently rubbed his wife's stomach and smiled to her, knowing that this baby was just the thing to get the Kilo household back into the swing of things.

In the meantime, Nathan was flying through college at an alarming pace. He was at the top of his class and never needed to study! He always had a Friday night party ot his dorm, and everyone on campus loved him and his free lifestyle. He was nicknamed "campus bigshot" shortly after his Junior year.

Nathan had always wanted to know more about his grandfather, Khai. He thought that majoring in Philosophy would be a great way to try and get a handle on how Grandpa Khai worked and saw different situations. He was always so carefree - Nathan loved that outlook.

While Nathan was away studying, Tiffany was taking care of the house and watching her daughter, Kayla, grow up so fast. It was soon less than a week until Kayla would grow into a teenager! But first, Tiffany decided to have her second child...

The Kilo household was thrilled to have another baby girl in the house! There was always such an abundance of boys in the household that it was so nice to see a little baby girl looking up at you with those adorable little eyes. Baby Polly was adorable, and everyone in the house was so happy to be around her. She barely ever cried, and when she did it was so soft and only for a moment.

Even Kayla loved her. The family was a little concerned with the possibility of Kayla feeling a little sad because someone new was going to steal her attention, but the two sisters seemed to get along splendidly. Nathan was welcomed home from college with a degree in Philosphy. Parker and Laci were so proud of their little boy.

When Nathan moved back home, they redecorated Khai and Dagmar's room for Nathan. So Nathan moved out of his room which Kayla then moved into with her little sister, Polly. Nathan was very happy with the spacious bed he was given...

The days and months and years flew by, and Polly was now in college with her older sister Kayla. They were having loads of fun being in college together, and they have grown to be best friends over the years. When Polly was merely a toddler, she was practically glued to her older sister Kayla.

Over the years, the Kilo family lost both Parker and Laci within days. It was hard to cope with more death, but the family held on strongly and get through it. As mentioned before, Kayla and Polly were attending college at Academie Le Tour, where their grandpa Khai went as well. Kayla was majoring in Medical Biology while Polly majored in Philosophy.
