Thanks, I feel better knowing that.
Minena - I like your house - Did you do know that clicking on the options (...) button just before taking your pictures will make those grid lines go away?

Rascal, I love the wrap around covered patio and front walk brick. Is that typical NZ house design?

Rascal
7th May 2006, 09:46 PM
Yes, its a older design that you still see a lot of in rural areas and in the older parts of the cities. The roof recolour and veranda pieces were made by darylmarkloc on MTS2. He actually made them for Australian houses but the roof design is the same here. The diffences are the Aussies tend to have iron lacework but we use wood or omit it altogether. Our houses are usually made of wood and theirs are brick. I was so happy when I found them as I've wanted an iron roof for ages. Corrugated iron is THE roofing choice over here.

Everybody's home look amazing. I'm afraid the judges have their work cut out for them. I don't know how everyone does it so quick either. Best of luck to everyone

My little 4 year old grandson was helping me today and is now busy snapping pictures in his Sims neighbourhood so he can put them in a contest when he gets big :dmille:

That's great about your grandson taking pictures for a contest. Does he have an email? He could post his pictures to a picture album. Yahoo photos is free and allows lots of albums - I have one for a wedding, one for our trip to Europe, one for sims, etc. Maybe you could create an album for his pics and then send the link to his mom or dad. He might get a kick out of that. BTW - we were only allowed four pics this round. AND - I like those smilies too - very much in tune with your entry.

Seems my reading skills have not improved at all :doh I'll fix that shortly.

And thanks for the info. Not sure if he has but I'll check with my son.

I saw your entry was up Gypsy so I just spent the last 20 minutes studying all the yards. Now I'm really worried! They are all so good and all so different - I'm glad I'm not judging this. Good luck to everyone - I wish we all could win.

Rascal, we are winners - we made it to the finals. I honestly like all the entries.
Hisbeachgirl's entry makes me feel the cold - the shadows on gives it that feeling.
Minena's makes me think of little girls dressed up in their Sunday best for Easter.
Rascal's is a typical house decorated for the holidays.
And I picture parties I have been to at people's home with the keg in the garage in Gypsy's.

The mood is set, and like Christmas Eve, the anticipation builds ... and someone will not find the present he/she really wanted under the tree, but there will be other presents and other occasions...

I've been looking at them too Rascal and I know what you mean. Everyone has done a great job, but I do believe Ciane is correct, we are all winners and I would like to thank LyricLee for giving us this opportunity. I've had a great time participating in this contest.

Everyone's yards are beautiful :gjob:

This was so much fun. I'm so glad I didn't miss it this time around. I followed the last one closely and built along with it, as I missed the entry deadline.

Thank you again Lyric for these wonderful contests for us building/decorating nuts =)

I really like fishnet stockings and a long slit on a slinky black dress. I am on my way to put it in my game now. Thank you.

And thank you to everyone who made this contest an enjoyable challenge - LyricLee, judges, and fellow contestants.

Congratulations Ciane - you were my pick as the winner (and my daughter's - she's 10) and congrats to Minena too. In fact congrats to everyone that entered for a great contest! I'm totally chuffed to have made the top 3 but I wouldn't have been surprised no matter who the judges picked. Thanks to everyone for all the friendly chat and especially BlueSoup and nectere for helping me figure out how to get my pictures bigger in the first round.

Thanks for your unofficial vote, Rascal, and your daughter's too!
If not for this contest, I might not have ever gotten around to recoloring.
And, I won't have had the chance to "work/play" with all of you; so I am thrice blessed!

Thank you all for your inspiration and participation. Without all the fierce competition, I don't know that I would have pushed myself so hard and learned so much.
