regarding the number of tiles windows/doors can be, if there is a two tile window, can we just use 2 one tile windows? do you understand?

LyricLee
16th Apr 2006, 06:42 PM
Chique- no you must replace a two tile window for a two tile window and so on. No swapping sizes this contest.
(makes it more difficult to coordinate :) :)

Note: Ive updated the contestant list.
Please do me a favor guys (as im old and my eyes dont work properly all the time lol)
If you happen to spot anything off in anyones entry- PM me so I can look it over and contatc the contestant.
From what I see so far everyones done a GREAT job on replicating the lot.

Oh yay! I missed the deadline for applications last time so i am glad you're holding a second one. Here is my entry.
Just a quick question, i have used the same windows throughout and these aren't the ones i intend to use in the rooms, are we allowed to change window style in later rounds when we know the theme?

chique4591_SC

What types of themes do you mean?
Like modern, medievel ect. or frogs and flowers and so on?

LyricLee
16th Apr 2006, 09:18 PM
Ok I have everyones names up now.

1- You may change the type of window to suit the theme youre given- If you use a brown one tile window in yourl ayout- and want a white one tile window of a different style but SAME tile size you can change- You jsut can not change a one tile window for a larger one- or use two one tile windows for a two tiled window-
It must match the legend as presented in post 1- whereever there is a one tile window or a two tiled window or door or arch there must always be one, understand?

you can substitute different types of windows though.

2- The themes are the surprise part Candy- Ill give one cheat tho- Think spring :)

I noticed some of the room pictures seem darker and thought I'd share a tip given to me. If you click the day/night option when you enter buy mode to make it night before you buy a light, it will be on when you place it in the room. (I used to think you needed a Sim living in the house to turn on lights and scoot the chairs up to a table. Now I just type boolprop snapobjectstogrid false to move chairs in and hope I don't forget to type it again with true when I'm done.) Good luck everyone.
I hope no one was upset by the reuse of Meshkiste's nautical set - it is the only one I know about. I didn't notice until I had finished that my bookcase is the same, and in the same spot, as a couple others - it was a perfect spot! I do have another bookcase that would have worked, and no one else used; but I kept getting distracted when I went looking for it and would find something else to add. Does that happen to anyone else?

nectere
26th Apr 2006, 05:25 PM
Not that anyone asked my opinion or anything, but I assume the list was smaller because it was the price of two rounds instead of one, because doing two rooms at a time only leaves three rounds instead of six. So you end up having to cut the entrants by twice what you normally would just so you dont end up with too many entrants at the end.

LyricLee
26th Apr 2006, 05:49 PM
Ok last time we did this we cut half the first round as well.
What we look for ina nutshell is not the most beautiful room- but the room that truly has the most "nautical" or "beachy" feel to it. Sometimes a room may be gorgeous but it doesnt quite feel like it fits the theme properly.
Also too much clutter is bad- too little is bad too... we look for a room that youd generally be comfortable to be in.

If you all would like to post some photos here (those who have been cut) you can feel free to share your takes on further rounds.

hope that helps ya guys :)

1- the first round has the heaviest cut- look at the contest before-
there is always a top 5 to compete for the last round.

2- if you cant afford pay content it has no bearing on your skills- Theres no way to tell from looking at the rooms what objects are pay and what arent. and there are a gazillion free sites out there. To limit people would be ridiculous

LyricLee
26th Apr 2006, 07:59 PM

[QUOTE=Rayea]

No Pay Content.
i dont see it as fair to use pay content when some folks cant use it.
i noticed quite a few entries had some pay content, and although it never botheres me normaly, it does bother me that folks that cant afford or have no way of getting hold of pay items have a harder time of competing than those with access to it.QUOTE]

Why is it fair to not use it, pay content isn't necessarily better content just different. Why should we be penalised because we can afford it? I understand that have it and some don't and if this contest was all about the best downloads then you'd have a point. However its about room design, what you do with what you have.

Minena

I understand that have it and some don't and if this contest was all about the best downloads then you'd have a point. However its about room design, what you do with what you have.

Have to agree with pink on this, I dont have FFS which has nautical content, so I had to hunt far and wide to find any, and to use my color scheme to give the room a nautical feel. I had exactly 5 items that were specifically "nautical".

While pay sites sometimes have nicer content, thats not a hard and fast rule and I have found a zillion things all for free.

alayaya
26th Apr 2006, 09:46 PM
you guys, saying that people should use content from pay sites is like saying people with really nice graphics should turn their settings down in order to compete in the contest.... this contest is about using your skill and the tools you have available to you and doing the best that you can.

I learned all the tricks (like cheats and stuff) by surfing around and looking things up, and there are so many sites that offer amazing content that is free. I won't deny that i have used content from pay sites for my entry, but i don't really see why its such a big deal. Sites like aussietopenders, chinafansims, mango sims, reflex sims, and so many more are mostly free sites with amazing content, you should check them out.

this contest isnt about who can gather the best stuff and stick it in a room, its about design, layout and sticking to a theme.

LyricLee
26th Apr 2006, 10:20 PM
OK lets just end this debate right now-
If you don ot like the rules of this contest then dont participate its as simple as that. I am not going to change thigns around just becuase someone can not find suitable content- There are plenty of people who created very nautical feeling rooms without pay content or family fun stuff installed. Its about fitting themes end of story.
If this contest isnt suitable for you then enter someone elses.
I ran this second one becuase so many people enjoyed the first one and wanted another. They seem to have no problem with it.
There is no bias in judging over who has what content. Its all about how you decorate your room. We dont know where you got what from. In fact the themes were set up 2 weeks before ffs even came out so theres no way we even expected those items to be used.
the point is mute now. If you cant comply with the rules in this content then dont play ok? I think every single entry in round one was amazing. And this is supposed to be fun not fighting over silly stuff.

:howdy: I have a question Lyric - you state we have to choose an insect for our nursery - can we have more than one? For instance bees and butterflies - or do we have to just pick one?

For those upset about pay-content. I didn't use any and I'm sure I remember one of the winners last time stating she didn't either. I'm not sure using it would make any difference - sometimes too much choice is a bad thing! I'm finding this round a real challenge because I can't recolour - I'm seriously thinking of trying to learn.

Hi all! just my 2 cents worth on the pay site discussion. I was one of the winners in the last contest, and I don't pay for any objects except Maxis ones. I actually bought FFS so my daughter could have the princess stuff, and didn't realize that there was nautical stuff in it until I got to looking through my catalogs. I just download like a maniac. One time my download files topped 15,000. I have since learned to make theme files and swap them out, so my game will respond in a reasonable time frame.

I just love all of the custom content available, and downloading seems to fulfill the same need as shopping for me, so my husband LOVES that I play the Sims 2.
He actually has been impressed with my decorating talents, since I have toyed with ideas for our basement den by doing in-game recreations. Nothing beats repainting walls with a shift-click, rather than a paint roller!

These contests are more about your creativity and having fun than anything else, so everyone, just have a great time!

Thanks for all your hard work, LyricLee and the judges! You guys are making it a challenge once again. I am off now to find more bugs.

Well today I found one of the items I was looking for late last night/early this morning, so I put that in. Then I realized I forgot the hanging plants, so I put a couple of those in. Then I decided the corner had room for a few potted plants, so I added some like those outside inside. I tweaked a few things and retook my pictures. my ladybug nursery stuff came from simsquirts, at least the ladybug crib and changing table did, the little ladybug toy is from mts2 and LyricLee had it listed in her toddler/child list in where can i find. As for the jungle stuff, its MTS2, TSR (pay and free) and then I think i did a search on http://chukhin.brinkster.net/Lynne/sims/themes/wild.html for the jungle stuff, not a lot there but worth looking and again on http://chukhin.brinkster.net/Lynne/sims/themes/nursery.html for the nursery stuff, its a humungous great list!! I can't remember top of my head where the ABC comes from, I think its an MTS2 creation though. I feel bad becasue I use it in all of my nursery designs!!

Im glad people liked it and Alyaya feel free to add green lights to your room, I have no problems people taking ideas from other people, i mean thats what sharing is all about, you'd use them differently then I did anyway!

Hisbeachgirl - I find when I put in too many folders and sub-folders, I have a bunch of folders to sort through. So I have the folders that cleaninstall lists - clothing, makeup, etc. I subdivide the objects and recolors folders into build & buy. If you have a lot of one thing, like windows or beds; then add another subfolder for that. That's my system - a seperate folder for each artist or site was just too many places to look for me, and cleaninstall (or the item's description) gives you the properties/info when you want to give credit to the originator. I also have another folder for non-object meshes and items that have been modified (such as hair and clothes).

LyricLee
28th Apr 2006, 06:54 PM
Ill throw my 2 cents in here for anyone asking about subfolders and what works best for me-

I have my downlaods foldered subfoldered in a systematic way-
there are certain sites that I download all the time from so I have created a folder for each of those. Then there are random objects I grab so I have folders for each, same for body shop. SO my folders look something like this

BS-Hair
BS- Make up
BS-Eyes
BS-Skin
BS-Donation Hair
C-ReflexSims
C-SimsConnection
C-SunairSims
C-TheSimsVault
OBJ-Livingroom
OBJ-Dining
OBJ-Decorative
Z-Hacks
Unsortables

obj=objects
c-creator
bs=body shop
hacks i have some in last and unsortable is for all of those files like 0737987nbkj43gkjh43.package that im not sure if i can throw out or not.

Then when i go on a download frenzy i dump the newest batch directly in the main downloads folder- I boot up, try everythign to be sure it works, then close the game and then subfolder that stuff into the appropriate folder.
It works well for me so far.

Ms. Useless Knowledge_SC
28th Apr 2006, 10:43 PM
Hi HisBeachGirl! I have a similar system to LyricLee's, but I don't have subfolders for particular sites. Mine are based on content. I download a pile, and then sort into folders using the CleanInstaller. That program is awesome.

I just looked and I have about 5.5 gigs of custom content. Yikes!

My regular Folders are:
Accessories and Makeup
Art (pictures, sculptures, etc.)
Adult Clothes
Business Stuff (OFB recolors, uniforms, etc.)
Careers
Collections
Costumes (period clothes, hair and jewelry)
Doors, Windows & Mantles (also includes fences)
Elder Clothes
Face Templates
Farm Stuff (mostly the Harvestable Farm stuff from MST2, plus animals)
Floors, Shingles & Terrains
Hacks
Hair Styles
Majors
Meshes (I put them all in here)
Objects and Recolors (I really need to sort this one out better - general buy mode stuff)
Plants (indoor and landscape)
Realistic touches (all the clutter that makes rooms look real)
Rug meshes & recolors
Skin, Eyes & Facial Hair
Teen, Child & Toddler Clothes
Walls
YA Clothes

Since starting this contest, I have added the following folders:
Nautical stuff (for the beachy bath and nautical den)
Jungle Bedroom
Buggy Baby Room

I just take out all the stuff I won't use when playing during a particular session. When I play a family, I take out the college and room folders. When I play a college town, I take out the elder and Teen/kids clothes. The costume, farm and business folders I usually leave out of the game as well, unless I intend to play a lot needing that stuff.

Why do I do this? To decrease loading time and increase how well the game runs while I am playing. It really bogs down if I am actually playing a family with a lot of stuff in the game that I don't need. My computer is pretty maximized for playing the Sims 2 now, so the only performance improvement I get is from taking out stuff. I hate to turn down my settings, since things look so good most of the time. I love seeing the detail on lots of the great custom content out there.

Hope that long answer helps! I know, I spend almost as much time organizing my stuff as I do playing, but it is the price I pay for being such a downloadaholic. I also do regular cleaning out, especially when new meshes and better textures come out.

Good Luck everyone! This jungle room is kicking my butt so far, so I had better go looking for more downloads!

Minena
28th Apr 2006, 11:20 PM
I like your system Lyric. I had everything seperated and then combined my downloads with my friends, and found duplicates since we used different naming on our folders. Out everything came into the main DL folder to sort out the dupes. Now to redo all the folders again. Think I'll try your system as having upteen folders broken down very specifically confuses me..especially now that I am topping 14K downloads.

Your system is generalized, yet still quite organized. I also forget to switch folders if I break the categories down too much while saving DL's to my system, so I end up with hair in objects or seating, while looking for chairs, since that was the majority of what I was after, but just couldn't pass up that nice new hair texture I might not find again =)

I know these contests might be a bit of a pain for you Lyric, well maybe a big pain =), but I will do them over and over if you will. I love decorating, and now, recoloring to suit a theme. Maybe I'll go wild and try my hand at meshing, who knows.

Fantastic rooms so far everyone. So many different views on a theme, sparks the old imagination and gets the grey cells going. Love it.

Mostly I have mine broken down by creator, and any recolors anyone does goes to the original creator folder where the mesh is. Inside each creator folder there are subfolders of what the items are, buy mode and build mode folders with thier respective subs and keeping all meshes with their recolors etc. The exception is Sim Mods, Game Mods, Vehicles and the occasional speciality folders like for this contest. Sim Mods is the only other one broken down by the way they are in cas i.e. a root folder for makeup with subs for eyeliner, blush, lipstick etc. Game mods all go in one folder to minimize conflicts, I dont have a whole lot of vehicles so I keep all those together with their recolors. I try to stay organized but its difficult with 6gigs of content...

However since OFB I "play" without CC, so the only time I play with my 6 gigs of junk (with exception to game mods which are always in) is when I enter a contest or or just feel like building something fun because I am a nutter when it comes to build items, I have so many doors, windows, stairs, fences etc it isnt funny - pretty much every one I have ever seen on some 30+ sites or so....

So this time around I am trying to be really super uber organized and put pictures in each of the item folder and by creator so I know exactly what it is and where it came from, plus renaming any funky file names along the way so they make sense. Its rather daunting and I doubt I will ever get my old cc fully organized, but going forward I am making sure to keep everything super tidy.

Nectere - Wow, six gigs is alot. My deco was having problems with just three gigs - curtains were loading as other curtains. I am almost as bad when it comes to doors and windows - they are my soft spot, but I only download the really good ones.

Hisbeachgirl - If you use cleaninstall to help you, you can sort by type - select from the first of that type to the last and choose move to...new...(create your new folder and away they go) or you can sort by name. (Some creators/sites start all their file names the same.) You can load all the downloads or just one folder at a time to sort. If you already knew this and were just looking at folder organization, sorry.

I hope to goodness that you have another contest. I'd like to try it for the fun of it!

I have a question for Simrunner... how did you place the OFB teddy bear on the dresser in your nursery? I've been trying to figure out how to do that since I discovered the moveObjects cheat. Actually, if anyone has any tips or suggestions on more advanced decorating using the various cheats for objects placement please share them. I'd love more pointers since my favorite thing to do in the Sims is to build/decorate houses and I'd really like to get better at it so I can share my work either in contests or lots on MTS2.

simrunner
29th Apr 2006, 05:12 PM
julianarosalia, I put the teddy bear on an invisible table or shelf (I can't remember which--whichever was high enough to put the bear on top of the dresser :-) and used moveobjects on and boolprop snapobjectstogrid false. TSR has a set of build your own shelves (by Bitzybus, I think), and I use the invisible ones a lot to place objects on different surfaces.

julianarosalia
29th Apr 2006, 05:20 PM
Aha, an invisible shelf! Thanks for an answer, now I'm going to have to track down those shelves. :)

*edit* Found the shelves over at TSR, they're pay items :(. I guess I have a moral dilemna on my hands now, since I don't believe in pay sites (only taking donations to pay for upkeep).

Ciane
29th Apr 2006, 06:32 PM
julianarosalia - you can use non-invisible shelves and counters, and just push them far enough back into the other item that you don't see them. I placed a deco cat on a plain endtable and pushed it into a crib so that only the part that was taller than crib blanket showed. The end table looked like a pillow because it was curved on one side and I put the flat side against the crib edge. Then I had a cat sitting on the pillow in the cradle. With moveobjects, snapobjectstogrid, and allow45degreeangleofrotation, you can change almost anything. They just don't work for doors and windows, in my experience, so put those in first.

And I updated my pics for the final time. They aren't the best shots, but they show the most of the rooms.

And I lied before, I wasn't done tweaking my pics, but I am now. I finally got the deco items I wanted to load for me. I think I have too many again and must spend some time cleaning out the unused ones out so I have room for more to load.

Okay, I have to ask an ignorant question - how do you get the lamps and hanging plants to stay in the pictures? Do you take a big far out pic and then crop it? When I change the UI settings and another one that look like they might be the ones affecting the fade out in graphic options, my plants and lights still fade out when I get too close.

LyricLee
30th Apr 2006, 04:07 AM
Ig you use the Tab key I believe things shouldnt fade like they do when you take your photos- I know it works with the trees. If you get used to using that key they should stick visible- correct me if im wrong

chique4591_SC

re: fading stuff - you can open *Livecameras.txt and set objectFadeDistance to 0 if you dont mind mucking about the script files...I kept forgetting to do that, rather I made a little mod that at least stops hanging lights from fading, if interested let me know. I plan to make another for hanging plants and then one for trees eventually.

* thats in the ea games folder not the root folder - you edit it in the "my documents" path folder not the root of c: or wherever you installed the game...if you mess up your games cameras you can restore them from the root folder. I set my cameras to read only after editing them so they dont get reset, as they do occasionally for some reason. (i.e. neighborhood camera)

Ciane
30th Apr 2006, 02:32 PM
Thanks for the info. I thought tab just put you in camera mode, and it often gives me almost a top down view that I have difficulty adjusting from. There's the zoom in and out and the move right and left, but I can't get the camera to adjust to a normal Sim view (lower) well. The right click and drag to adjust the camera view doesn't respond the way I'd like. I guess I need more practice. I tend to avoid it, as I always end up looking down on my Sims. But knowing that camera view will keep the lamps and plants there will make pictures better. I'm not sure I want to mess with the camera settings without a step-by-step explanation of backup procedure. Maybe you cou PM a simple, but exact explanation and I'll see what happens. Thanks again everyone.

Well, to all of you who wanted to see what i created...here it is. I just wich that is was able to actually be in the contest:( But as i said before, there is nothing you or i can do about it, i misread the rules....

NURSERY
http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f298/chique4591/snapshot_0000000e_315fa85d.jpg
This is on end of the nursery! I choe to make this nursery a little boy's nursery because alot of the other contestants seemed to create the room for a girl. So i wanted to be different! The bugs that were mainly focused on this room were flying ones! SO this includes, bumblebes and dragon flies!
http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f298/chique4591/snapshot_0000000e_515fa88a.jpg
This is the other side of the room! As you can see, this is the changing and reading nook part of the room. The changing table was placed on top of the counter, to add to the built in look of the whole wall! The diapers and clothes go into the drawers in the cabinets. The gliding chair is purposely placed next to the bookcases for those late night story times with mommy and the baby! The darkwoods of the cabinatry/built-ins are to resemble the tree trunks in the forest!

Master Bedroom
http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f298/chique4591/snapshot_0000000e_715faf9c.jpg
So, as you can tell, this is the bedroom. The above picture shows the seating area in the bay window and the dresser. The two chairs are placed there to look over the whole room. The dresser, area rug, green of the chairs, and table(inbetween chairs) all have the exotic feel to them which really relate to the jungle bedroom!
http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f298/chique4591/snapshot_0000000e_b15fc5bd.jpg
Yes, yes....i diduse the maxis made bedding...but i just couldn't resist! I fel tthat the leopard print worked PERFECTLY in this room! It ties together all of the colours! The fabric mesh around the bed are to make sure that those nasty mosquito's dont get into the bed and bite you while sleeping! ZThe three pictures hanging on the wall really set the tne from the room because the contained a bunch of different jungle animals, aswell as the coour scheme that i wanted in the room!

WEll, i hope that you guys liked it!

Well, I've almost finished the livingroom garden. Now I have to learn to recolor. I have read and taken notes on a tutorial that should get me through it. And I surfed for an image that I am hoping will work. I have to clean it up in photoshop and size it. I am hoping it will cut and paste okay and not require too much blending, but I may have to get another image or two if the colors don't work out. Hopefully I'll have a little beginner's luck and not mess up because I am following a step-by-step easy-to-understand tutorial.

I have my livingroom pretty much nailed, just gonna let it stew, and see if I still like it tomorrow. I'm having problems with kitchen walls. Can't quite get the color I want. Good thing I have a few days. I like to put the rooms together right away, then revisit them over and over and see if they still make me smile :)

Recoloring, using either SimPE or Wizards of SimPE is easy, as far as what you actually do with them. Mostly just open a file, export it then import it back in to get the recolor into the game. The hardest part is the graphics program to get the images you are using the right size and scale. I have really been having fun with it though.

I once tried to recolor a counter, but a really strange thing happened. The color showed up fine in the game except when I zoomed in it would revert back to default colors... kind of like how trees disappear when you zoom in too close. weird eh?

First of all, I want to say that I love the flamingos. Reminds me of a friend of mine who has a 'thing' for them. :) And as for your problem with the zooming that's an easy thing to fix. After you import the image back into SimPE, you need to Right-click on the imported picture and choose 'Update All Sizes'.

All done, check them out :)

This is probably to little to late but I just saw your message. I just learned to recolour for this contest because I wasn't able to find any bugs items for the nursery that I was happy with. I found 2 tutorials on MTS2 to be most helpful, they had me up and running in very short order so if the tutorial you found gives you any difficulty you may want to check these out.

This first one http://www.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=102356 is good for recolouring Maxis objects (you will need to download the file to get the complete tutorial). The second is a little more complicated but will work with custom meshes as well as the Maxis content http://www.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=102356. Sorry if this is to late to be of help, but perhaps it will then be helpful to others.

Gypsy - Thanks, that is the thread I used. (They are both the same.) It just hasn't been so simple. First, I couldn't find the next button. I was scrolled too low to see it. After reloading, I made several objects. I went into my game, couldn't find the cabinets or curtains; found that because I had flattened my image, my rug was now a rectangle instead of an oval; crashed my game when I looked for my lamp (that I had rotated in photoshop, and SimPE did not like that); and only had one picture and one chair (after looking in cleaninstall, the game, and simPE for the file that had a different name everywhere) because I didn't put a copy of the CEP file in my working folder (that was outside of my downloads folder). I have figured out how to correct all the stupid mistakes on my own, but I am still trying to solve the cabinet and curtain problem. I am using Maxis ones to make it easier (I thought), but I think I have to clone them first. I am rereading the posts in the thread to try and figure it out. I am glad we still have two more days. (I have packaged my lot and taken pictures of the garden room, so I have some leeway. And I have already made the cabinets and curtains in photoshop so I only need to cut and paste when I figure out what I need to do.)

LyricLee
2nd May 2006, 02:16 AM
You should never clone an object to recolor it- ever-
Ciane when you wentinto the game to find your curtain recolor- did you try using the color swatch tool on the curtains to bring up the panel to change colors?

Ciane
2nd May 2006, 02:23 AM
No I didn't. I looked for it with the other recolors there.
I thought I read on the other thread that you needed to clone an object to pull all the associated textures with it to the new object. Then, you made a copy of that to recolor.
As I said, I haven't done this before. It's all new to me. I'll go see if the design tool will show the cabinets and curtains, but I am confused why wouldn't drop in like other cabinets and curtains.
I thought if I just made them again, I might get lucky and they'd work.

Ciane - I'm sorry, that first link should have been http://www.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=86424. It is a much easier tutorial to follow and may be of some assistance. This is the one though where you have to download the rar file to get the complete tutorial. Hope this helps.

Ciane
2nd May 2006, 02:39 AM
Here's the quote on the cloning - it doesn't really apply. I just knew I'd read something about it, and thought I'd double check that approach:

You could follow the article on the repository technique, but instead of creating the custom repository object, clone the Maxis object you want to borrow the textures from with all of the cloning options unchecked (you only need it to get the filenames to link to, and this way you'll get the deafult filenames without the usual custom object codes).

As I said, I'll just redo them if they don't show up with the design tool. And I'll check out that tutorial as well, gypsy. Thanks.

JessicaRitchie
2nd May 2006, 03:06 AM
Ciane, you should never clone objects to recolor them, if you clone a custom object it will cover over the object and the original won't show. I've done a lot of recolors and if you like, your welcome to email me at [email protected] and I will be happy to explain in detail how to do it, instead of putting everything here.

Congratulations to all who made it *breathes big sigh of relief... and even for those who didn't because you all did really amazing!

And does front yard only go from the front wall of the house forward, no side yard; and all the way to the ends of the property?

depending on the size of your lot- this is in my opinion the front region of the yard

Are we allowed to add walls, half walls, fences, etc.? I have finished decorating the house and front lawn except for a few finishing touches that could take another day or two...

Yeah! I am almost finished. You will get pictures tomorrow. I am sure my idea won't be that original, but I am happy with it.

Hisbeachgirl, thats fantastic, I love it!! I like the stable scene (my dad puts around 3000 lights on the front and side of our house each holiday season and we have a stable scene almost identicle to that its soo cool!

His beachgirl - Sorry, I used some of the same snow people and the baby penguin in my front yard as well, though not intentionally. I was sure that several people would chose this holiday and ran a risk of repeating objects. But you'll notice (maybe) that I used snow people in the tapistries in the windows, and they are kind of a second theme - winter wonderland - for my yard. I hope you don't mind too much. If I find something to put in their place that will look as good, I'll redo it.

Ciane, great use of llamas for reindeer. :)

Thanks! I couldn't find reindeer, just kept chasing after Berg; and I thought Sims would use llamas anyway.

Thanks. I'm not sure whatelse I would have come up with. I do love the crisp, clean feel to yours. I didn't know how to get rid of the green grass on the edges. I wasn't sure if we could crop pictures or not. Unfortunately, I built this this home next to other playable lots, so I didn't want to change all the neighbors' lots.
