Welcome to the fourth cycle of FemmeMALE! First, let me introduce my fabulous co-hosts, cycle two winner Be Ambitious and cycle three winner BlackSerpent! ^^ Both have all of the information for every round, so if you have any questions when I am not around, either may help you - so do not hesitate to ask! If I am unavailable for any reason and cannot close a round, post a new one, post scores, etc., my co-hosts will help me out. A huge thank you to both of you, I appreciate this very much!

As always, this contest will showcase the delicate, graceful, and sweet side of male beauty - but entries will be judged on many things.

For this cycle, things will be a little different. Each round will be set in a new location, and you must keep your location in mind when taking pictures. For example, your sim would not be posing in front of a snow-topped mountain in Miami. xP

There will be one 24-hour mini-challenge per round. It is optional, and while it will not affect your score at all, those who win a challenge (or multiple challenges!) will receive a special prize once the contest has finished.

There will be a total of four rounds, not including application round. Application round will close 6th May at 4:00 P.M.

Why did you decide to enter FemmeMALE 4? Why do you think this contest is right for you?
If you had to describe your personality with one word, what would it be?

One bodyshot on a background of your choice - showcase your sim's personality through choice of color, clothing, expression, etc.
(optional) One freeshot - everything is up to you!

-You may enter up to two sims.
-'Human' sims only - no fantasy races this time, please.
-Some knowledge of Photoshop or another image editing program is required.
-Follow all S2C rules (http://forums.sims2community.com/showpost.php?p=653118&postcount=1).
-Pictures may be no larger than 650 pixels by 550 pixels.
-You may sharpen and crop any of your pictures (and brighten them if they are too dark/darken them if they are too bright). You may also add a border to any picture unless I ask otherwise. Photoshopped poses are allowed. Though I will sometimes allow 'full' photoshopping, the term is a bit exaggerated as I do not want to see simmerizations or photoshopped backgrounds (unless the backgrounds are taken in game.)
-Incomplete entries will not be judged.
-Put your sim's name and the round number in the title bar of each entry.
-If you are unhappy with your scores, try messaging the judges (me too, of course) for additional information and maybe some more pointers. Do not post complaints here.
-Of course you may drop out at any time, but I and the rest of the judges would appreciate it if you would tell us before the deadline of a round begins to near. This way we won't be waiting on an entry that won't arrive.
-Extensions may be given, it simply depends on how much time the contest has remaining.
-Sim must be your own creation.
-The lovely femme males cannot be sim versions of characters from books, anime, manga, etc.
-Have fun, have fun, have fun! xD
-Be kind to each other.

Hmm. . . I have planned most of the contest already, and I can say that this cycle will definitely not require as much photoshopping as cycle three did. In fact, I have planned only one task that will require a bit of knowledge of some image editing program, but it is very simple. ^^ Pretty much, you are free to photoshop as little or as much as you are comfortable with, so do not worry. ^^

I am constantly traveling and this year I don't have too many big plans. Since I unfortunatley missed last season, I jumed at the chance to join in this time around. I have always wanted to try my hand at photography and modeling. I do not get to keep many close friendships, what with my traveling and all, and lately have missed companionship. Being involved in the occasional group event is both invigorating and inspirational.

Well, and I think it'll send a good message to femmes to be comfortable in their own skin. I know a lot of gals who hate being who they are, and I think that's entirely the wrong attitude. They need to know that they're just as beautiful as the other girls.

Because of the opportunity to travel! It has been a lifelong goal of mine.. to see the world! It is not right for me, it is perfect for me! And it seems like it would be an absolute blast and it will be great to meet some like minded people!

Like my brother, Morana, I too don't know where I came from. I'm the last one mother adopted from the streets; I was only 5 when mother found me down by the docks. Compared to my brothers, I'm a little more reserved, and a bit short for my age (to which they - especially Hayfa - like to tease me about). I prefer staying indoors reading or drawing with mother, but sometimes I do go outside with Morana and play with him.

Morana didn't want to enter this alone, so I got dragged into this as well. Hayfa's older, so he could refuse Morana, where as I'm the youngest one, I can't. A lot of people tell me I look like a girl - even if I dress in pants.

I entered because I want to test the competetive waters. If I'm ever going to be a rock star, I'm going to need the experience. It also sounds like a fun time to be had.

In this business you don't have a career if you don't have family, friends and fans behind you.

Well to be completly honest I never even thought anything of this contest at first I didn't see it as something that I would be interested in, but well.. I guess people change there minds and with some encouragment from my close friend Ryuzuki I decided to give it a shot. And maybe discover something more about myself while I travel and meet with all these new people.

I was born on the road. I live on the road. I'm actually very shy without heavy makeup. When I wear a mask, I am costumed and nothing can affect me. I can hide from the world when nobody knows who I am. My parents never really paid much attention to me and dressed me in whatever clothes they could find. My father called me his daughter for four years straight until he saw me with my shirt off, and he probably still would if he were still around. I moved to Japan and live in a dorm situation with two other men while we build our careers.

I've often been referred to as a girl by people and I never got out of the habit of wearing skirts and dresses. I don't really think I'm good enough, but my roommates convinced me to at least try. Also, I still travel the world even though I live in Japan. I'm trying to become an international journalist. I'm afraid to meet new people, but this is a good chance to socialize with my peers.

Chinese Zodiac (Task One)

In Chinese astrology, each personality is associated with an animal that represents it. The twelve animal signs of the Chinese zodiac are: rat, ox, tiger, rabbit, dragon, snake, horse, sheep, monkey, rooster, dog, and pig. Each of you will be assigned one sign to depict, using the information that I will provide below. Since there are sixteen contestants, I of course had to re-use four signs.

Information regarding the signs

To the Chinese, dragons are associated with strength, good luck, and health. You can see the dragon above doors and roofs in China, where it banishes evil spirits and demons. The creature is a symbol of power and wealth. It is strong and attractive, and filled with vitality. People born under the dragon are thought to be vibrant, noble, powerful, and magnanimous. But they can also be pompous, ruthless, and demanding. The colors gold and black are associated with the dragon, as well as the gemstone amethyst and the spring season.

The snake represents mystery and malevolence. People born under the snake are thought to be altruistic, intuitive, and discreet. But they can also be poor sports, clingy, and jealous. The gemstone agate is associated with the snake, as well as the spring season.

The horse is warm-hearted, intelligent, and able. It can be called the ethos of the Chinese. People born under the horse are thought to be generous, lovable, and sociable. But they can also be fickle, gullible, and quick-tempered. The gemstone beryl is associated with the horse, as well as the summer season.

The sheep (or goat or ram) is calm and gentle. People born under the sheep are thought to be the most creative of all the signs. They are artistic and have a great sense of style, as well as being gentle, modest, and empathic. But they can also be lazy, capricious, and insecure. The gemstone emerald is associated with the animal, as well as the summer season.

The monkey can be described as clever. People born under the monkey are thought to be humorous, lively, and inventive. They are thought to have agile minds and multiple talents. But they can also be superficial, egotistical, and careless. The gemstone emerald is associated with the animal, as well as the summer season.

The rooster represents fidelity and punctuality. People born under the rooster are thought to be meticulous, talented, and witty. They enjoy attention and flattery, and can also be vain, blunt, and fussy. The gemstone jasper is associated with the rooster, as well as the autumn season.

What better word to describe a dog than loyal? The dog can be regarded as an auspicious animal – it symbolizes the coming of good fortune. People born under the dog are thought to be caring, loyal, and dependable. They tend to worry and can be overly critical. They can also be pessimistic, petty, and self-righteous. The gemstone diamond is associated with the dog, as well as the autumn season.

The pig is free of malice, and can be regarded as a symbol of affluence. People born under the pig are thought to be charitable, shy, and patient. Aloof, they may appear reserved but are really warm-hearted. But they can also be competitive and obstinate, and may regard others as inferior. They love nature and are very peaceful. The autumn season is associated with pigs.


Additional Task Information
You can choose to use any information that I listed. For example, represent your sign through color choice or negative personality traits, etc. You do not have to use all of the information. You may use all of it if you like, or any combination of it. However, your assigned sign should be clear upon viewing your picture. Photoshopping is allowed, and you may use 3D backgrounds for this task. This photo should be a body shot. You may include other sims in your photo, but be sure to stand out! Lastly, please add your sim's name onto the photo.


The Five Elements (Task Two)

In their ying and yang forms, the five elements are: wood, fire, earth, metal, and water. Yin and yang is used to describe two primal opposing but complentary principles. Yin is the dark element, while yang is the light. When the ying and yang is broken down into the five elements, they modify the twelve personalities. Each animal is goverened by an element. So, you will be assigned an element based on which zodiac sign you were assigned.

By looks alone, Kane and Atley hands down. I'm a sucker for a cute face, and both of them are adorable!
I like Monet's sense of style. She's very expressive and I like her facial art (is that a tatoo?).
And Dai has a good attitude towards life, I think. She's a free spirit and I admire that.

What would others be surprised to learn about you?
Uh...that my natural hair color is blonde? I don't know. I'm not really all that surprising.

Yin and Yang (24-hour mini-challenge)

Yin and yang are two complimentary forces that make up all aspects and phenomena of life. Yin is viewed as earth, female, dark, and passive. Yin exists in even numbers, streams, and valleys. It is represented by the tiger, the color orange, and a broken line. Yang is viewed as heaven, male, light, and active. Yang exists in odd numbers and in mountains. It is represented by the dragon, the color azure, and an unbroken line. Together, yin and yang are depicted as the light and dark halves of a circle.

Instructions
You will need two photos of your sim, though you will submit just one image (please place the photos side by side, sort of like this (http://i115.photobucket.com/albums/n307/utagai/FemmeMALE3/apples/both.jpg) ). In one photo, your sim will represent yin; and in the other, yang. Both shots must be bodyshots. Photoshop as much or as little as you like. And, as always, remember the rules from my initial post. How do you feel about the score you received in application round? Absolutely stunned. I feel I should have recieved a score of a 50 or 60. I know to some of you, 7th place isn't too good, but to me, it's fantastic. My application was just thrown together in a hurry to get the application in, so I knew it wasn't too good. I'd like to thank you, judges for the amazing score you gave me. Is there anything that you would have changed to improve your application? Do you even have to ask? There would be a million things I would have changed! But since I was in such a hurry, I couldn't. For one thing, I would have written a more detailed biography, to tell everyone how unique I really am.

Based on the applications, who is your favorite contestant in FM4? Why?
Me! Just kidding. My favorite contestant in FM4 without a doubt would be Atley. I don't know why, he just stands out to me. He's just absolutely gorgeous! But the rest of the FM contestants are also stunning.

What would others be surprised to learn about you? Hm, I don't know. I never had a boyfriend or a girlfriend. I guess that's surprising? All of my surprising secrets I have to keep to myself, or else I'll have to kill you :P

Oh, Lord, I guess I didn't do so well. I'm not very surprised though, considering the beautiful people I'm up against... I suppose I'd better try to look a little more feminine, and I don't think I'll be wearing my glasses again. Good riddance!

Kane is just the sweetest little thing! And Morana has such beautiful purple eyes...very arresting. Let's see, who else...Jay's application made me laugh! Such a pretty child, but so conceited!

What would others be surprised to learn about you?
Well, despite this languid exterior, I used to be in a death metal band! Yes, that's right, I was the lead singer for a silly little band called P*sshorse (Sorry about the name of the band, it's not very polite.) We never got anywhere, but my friends and I certainly terrorized Greensboro!

Oh yes, I was extremely unhappy with my bodyshot. I don't even know why I used it at all... I actually had another one, but it wasn't really a "bodyshot." Hopefully my pictures are much better this round, but with all the other great entries.... gah! My head wants to fall off. But I am just happy to be in this contest at all... even with so-so scores.

Based on the applications, who is your favorite contestant in FM4? Why?
Julieth's Raymond (Sylvia) was probably my favorite. His pictures were so fun and innocent. Kinda wanted to steal them... yup.

What would others be surprised to learn about you?
Me? Who cares about me? Hmm, well I am nearly 20 and sadly I am only 4 feet 10 inches tall. Even though I obviously know how short I am, people never fail to TELL me how short I am.

How do you feel about the score you received in application round? Is there anything that you would have changed to improve your application?

I wasn't honestly sure how I would do in the application round, but I did better than my room-mate Yuri. He kicked me out of the house when he found out, but I know he's just kidding. I think, if I had to change anything in my application, I would have been more confident in my answers. I was worried, but now I feel better about myself. I think I can do a lot better in the next round than I did in the application round.

Based on the applications, who is your favorite contestant in FM4? Why?

There are so many gorgeous entries in this contest. I'd have to say my favorites are Atley and Monet, I just think they're both adorable. I'd love to meet them outside of the contest, but our paths will likely never cross again once we're all finished here. Atley's just a little cutie and I love Monet's complexion.

What would others be surprised to learn about you?

Actually, my favorite color is fuschia and I'm a big video game fan. Name a platform and you can bet I've had at least one.

How do you feel about the score you received in application round?
Absolute shock.. at the very least! I was a bundle of nerves waiting for the scores as I have never done anything like this before! Out of all the outcomes I had predicted.. being the application favourite was not one of them. I am still grinning!
Is there anything that you would have changed to improve your application?
Maybe a different headshot, that goofy little smile I was doing really got on my nerves after looking at it a couple of times!

Based on the applications, who is your favorite contestant in FM4? Why?
This was an extremely difficult question for me to answer, all of the applications were fantastic in my eyes. Citara seems so sweet, Gage is just lovely, Morana is cute, Raymond is gorgeous, Dai seems stylish, William is adorable.. oh wow.. I could go on forever! But since I have to pick a favourite I am going to say Monet. There is just something about him!

What would others be surprised to learn about you?
This was a little hard too since I am actually quite a boring person! I wish I had something scandalous to share with you all. I can play a mean match of soccer and I wear contact lenses? :p

Is there anything that you would have changed to improve your application? I should have put more effort into it, I was a bit nervous as this is my first big contest. Next time I'll try to relax more and hopefully it'll look better.

Based on the applications, who is your favorite contestant in FM4? Atley, Kane, Monet Why? Look at them. Need I say more? Kane is just gorgeous, i love his eyes, Atley looks D*mn fine in anything he wears and has an innocent quality to him that I really like. And Monet, I adore him especially his smile and fashion sense.

What would others be surprised to learn about you? I'm not all that suprising, But I am Dion Hawk's son. But I doubt that's suprising, There's nothing really except the fact that I like to catch butterflies and curl up with a good book.

How do you feel about the score you received in application round? Is there anything that you would have changed to improve your application?
I was disappointed that I got such low scores, I wasn't sure why that was the case. It's alright though, if it gives Kané such great self-esteem. I think if I had to do my application over again I would have spent more time on my pictures and I only tacked that free shot in on impulse which I probably shouldn't have done. Even Abel said my pictures looked rushed.

Based on the applications, who is your favorite contestant in FM4? Why?
Abel, because he wore the cat suit I pointed out to him, and I loved Atley's headshot and freeshot. I'd love to have -those- on my wall. I also thought Jermaine was cute, and he pulls his hair up like mine on occasion too.


What would others be surprised to learn about you?
I love reading books, and I think that's a little of the reason I liked Jermaine's application. I'd love nothing more than to curl up on the couch on a rainy day and read a book from cover to cover. I know I don't look like the type, but my favorite authors are J.R.R. Tolkien and C.S. Friedman.

I apologize for making you guys wait. I just need scores from one judge. I always wait at least 24 hours before messaging an emergency judge. So if the last judge does not have her scores in within the next four or five hours, I will ask one of my EJs to judge instead. I only have a few hours to add the scores, post them, and post the round. So basically if the last set isn't in very soon, you'll be waiting at least twelve more hours because I won't be near my computer for a long while today, like every other day. :(

(*O*) The first shot is incredible. The lighting, Atley's facial expression and pose, and the small touches that you added to the background are great. Atley is quite beatiful and delicate - the type of sim that comes to my mind when I think of FemmeMALE. ♥_♥ His sweet personality makes him very endearing also! Awesome work. ^^d

Dai is very lovely, but I wish that we could have seen more of his face. It is a small nitpick; overall, your entry was excellent. I love reading every word that you write, and find your ideas quite creative.

Sylvia is a lovely gal! I thought that the second picture was very cute. Syl looks shy and pretty. I thought that the first shot could have been more exciting, but still I enjoyed your entry and thought that it was very nice.

I love the second picture! A very creative idea. ^^ The first shot has a very lovely background. Monet’s responses show us what a genuine, lovable personality he has. Good work!

An orignal, creative entry. The first picture shows that a lot of thinking and planning went into it. The background is full and detailed, and I like how you incorporated as much detail as possible into it. Great! The second picture is creative as well, and is probably my favorite of the two. A very good job.

Morana Kapkin (Melodyway17)
To me, Morana’s pictures were very pretty but seemed a touch on the uncreative side as I have seen incredibly similar pictures before. The backgrounds are pretty and you paid a great deal of attention to detail, though. I felt that it was a good entry.

William Maas (ChocolateCake)
William is quite cute! He is indeed feminine and right for this contest, however I think that you should try to be a bit more creative with posing. I enjoyed reading his responses – he has quite the unique and sweet personality.

Jay is gorgeous. The second picture looks very calm and Jay seems very relaxed amid nature. However, you did not answer the questions? This hurt your score. :(

I like the first picture a lot! ^^ The second picture might have been a bit more detailed, but Jermaine is a beautiful femme male and your ideas are very creative. Not a lot of complaints from me!

The tops of volcanic mountains form eight major islands and 124 islets. Mountainous areas receive heavy rainfall in Hawaii, though rainfaill varies throughout the state. Trade winds carry moist air across the islands. The climate is a mild tropical one, as Hawaii lies below the tropic of Cancer. It is considered an ideal paradise by many. . . and it is the second stop for you beautiful ladies!

Task One
You take it easy for a little while - relaxing and enjoying the natural beauty of Hawaii. . . until you open a magazine one morning and find that you have been featured on one of those dreaded 'worst dressed celebrity' lists. No, it is worse than that. The magazine has dedicated an entire page to your fashion blunder! Your hair was a mess and, let us be honest, you looked awful by the standards of the media.

For this task, you will submit one photo. This should look like the page I described above - a page taken from a magazine, showing your femme male clad in his most hideous attire and looking anything but his best while out. Be sure to include text and any touches you feel are needed to make the photo believable. The photo of your sim should be a bodyshot, and you may include other sims if you wish. Again, this should look like a magazine page so choose fitting dimensions for your photo. Stand out and be creative!

Task Two
You decide to hide out for a while. After all, you have been publicly humiliated - or so the world thinks. You brush off the negativity of the media. You're a professional, right? So you lay low and decide to have some fun while doing so. Unfortunately, things get out of hand one night and, you guessed it, the paparazzi capture the moment and the next morning the photos are plastered on the cover of magazines across the country.

For the second task, you will submit one photo - a magazine cover. Think trashy tabloids. Remember, the paparazzi have captured your sim doing something scandalous, embarrassing, generally harmful to their reputation, or something that conflicts with their public image. Scandal does not have to involve romance and the like! Think outside the box, and again, be creative! Creativity is quite important in FemmeMALE. We want the entries to be as unique as the gorgeous femme males here. ^^ The photo of your sim should be a bodyshot, and again you may use other sims in your picture.

It is not a beauty contest (I know it's in the beauty sub forum - I did not request that it be placed here). T__T For each round, contestants are judged on about half a dozen things, and beauty is not always the most important factor - when it is, something else, say creativity, will be worth as many points. Your guy should still be beautiful in a really bad outfit. xD Bad fashion can be fantastic, lol.

I once heard that Anna Nicole Smith said:"There is no such thing as BAD publicity." I'm not to proud of the moments
that have been caught on camera, but there is nothing I can do about it. The paparazzi tend to blow things out of
proportion and make up stories. I'll just have to sit tight and behave till it blows over or Britney gets another tattoo or drops a kid.


Did you learn anything about Hawaii or Hawaiians during your visit?
I learned a lot actually! The first thing I did, was learn to Hula! I also learned some of the folk lore surrounding the Islands!
I think the huaka‘i po was my favorite one! It says that ghost of ancient warriors roam the islands where great battles took
place and that they can only be seen by a large group of torches, but! You shouldn’t look them in the eye or you will disappear
forever! Oh! I also learned not to wear chunky heels to go sight seeing!

How do you feel about the competition so far? Is it what you expected?
This competition has been so much more than I expected! I'm traveling to new beautiful places with eleven wonderful girls,
meeting important people in the fashion industry and putting myself on the map! Ofcourse I'm missing Mischal, he tries
to come see me when he's not absolutely buried in work, but this competition is paving the way for me, who knows,
maybe i'll be the next covergirl!
