We am inviting designers from around Sim land to join this competition and BECOME the next Top Designer
Have you ever seen the show Top Design on T.V when we aired last time? Well this contest is going to be run like the show did. Do you have what it takes to have the top design?
Each round will have its own room to design that you will have to build. A picture of the floor plan will be posted and then you will have a certain time period to design the room.

http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h173/annay49/rules.jpg

1.Follow all forum rules
2.No rudeness. Please remember that people as young as 13 use this forums.
3.Please do not just drop out without saying anything. Please PM me if possible.
4.Extensions may be given but not by more then 24 hours.
5.You may sharpen and add borders to your pictures but no other Photo editing is allowed.
6.Please remember that the Sim designer that you make has to be your own creation.

8.If I have forgotten anything please don’t hesitate to ask.

http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h173/annay49/Time.jpg

This contest will run for a period of 30 days with each round being 4 days and the application being 6. Judging will be 1 day long. This will allow for 1 or 2 small extentions. If an extension will not be needed then we may have a 5th round.
Round dates will be added after the contest is approved.

Cinamun and I will be hosting this together. Cinamun’s Sim won last cycle and now she will be co- hosting with me. Any questions may be answered by her when I am not here which may be a bit more then usual.

annay (or Cin lol) when you say:

"One picture of your designs that you have made for a house: Please show the finished results."

Do you mean a room or a whole house? I'm guessing you mean a room, but I'm not sure. Thanks :)

I just knew that would confuse someone. It confused me at first too. (I wrote this out very late at night) Well I do just mean one room as in this contest you will never be designing a whole house.

Vaalyah- well I can't give you an very good example but I can try to explain better. Each round you will be given one room and some details about the room. You may be given descriptions of people and their styles. I hope this makes more sence.

Everyone will have a picture of a floor plan so you can see exactly the size room your designing if you mean. NO the floor plans will not be typed letters if thats what you mean.

Sorry for everyone that can't enter. I know how you feel. I've been staying away from contests for a very long time because I don't know when I get my computer reconfigued. Hopefully I get my dads computer soon and he fixes my little laptop :D.

Yay another entry. I'll go add it to the designer list now.

annay49
22nd Jul 2007, 1:14 AM
No it will be a picture of the floorpan and then u will take that floor plan in game and design the room around it. I'll try to find an example from last cycle if anyone would like. :)

Here we go.

This is an example not an actual round.

http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h173/annay49/snapshot_d32aa403_532aa4a3.jpg

Then with this you will be told its a kitchen for example. You will be told the style of the round for example ultra modern or retro. Then you might have a discription of a person who will give a short bio about themself. Knowing all this you will have design a room and take the required pictures for the round.

Short Bio: After graduating from Parsons School of Design in Manhattan, I accepted an internship with the renowned firm of McLarson & Phipps Ltd. The pay was so minimal I often ate nothing but ramen noodles for weeks on end, but the experience and potential for growth was priceless and I persevered. Within three years I made my way up the ranks to senior designer and project manager. There I met my partner, architect James "Jojo" Hastings, and we eventually took the risk of cutting the ribbon on our own Design/Build firm here in Manhattan.
Profession: Interior Designer
Design Style: A luxe mix of classic and mid-century modern, with a large dose of the unexpected.

Well I just needed one picture from everyone but this round has no judging and everyone will continue on to the next round. So really the picture you put of this space will have absolutly no effect on anything later. I would say keep the links and that will be ok. :D

As long as the footprint of the room itself is exactly as shown, can we do anything we want inside the footprint? Adding interior walls for example? And can this be presented connected to the rest of a house, or just alone?

Also, can be this a suite with bath or is it ok if it is only the bedroom?

Just exploring my options lol....thanks :)

What was the hardest part of this room?
Well the hardest part of this room was planning what to do with the big open spaces, and the colour scheme I feel that as Mrs. Klein wanted pastel colours and Mr. Klein wanted bold colours I feel that I have incorporated them both as there are yellow pastel colours but there are accents of bold red fabric’s.

What is the most important point of this room?
I feel the most important part of the room is the closet, I designed it to allow you to shut it off so if its untidy you don’t have to see all the mess and clutter but if you are neat then you can subtly showcase you carefully selected items.

Gerbera- the open end just close that up with a wall.

SimsArtThat- Inside the footprint just add anything in buy mode. Also you may add windows and doors. No walls though. Seperators in buy mode are the only thing that you can add inside.
The room should just be alone not in a house. (I think that will take away from the room shot)
Its only the bedroom (lets pretend that the rest of the house is done.);)

1. What was the hardest part of this room?
The hardest part of the room was the color type for the room, pastels and bold colors. I just blended everything together and I hope its doesn’t look odd.

2. What is the most important point of this room?
I believe it should be the study corner and the living area because it has the most boldness yet have a sprinkle of pastels.

Questions- please answer the following:

1. What was the hardest part of this room?: As with almost every project I’ve ever created, the hardest part was subjugating my personal preferences to my clients’ wishes. I’m aware of the importance of my clients’ tastes, but in the best of all possible worlds I would be designing rooms for myself only. Trouble is, I can’t afford me.

2. What is the most important point of this room?: The comfort and warmth throughout. (Also please note that although there are many windows in the sleeping area, they face west and south and are sheltered by high shrubbery, which provides both privacy and the limiting of light.)

*The interior portieres are just drapery, they are not windows*

1. What was the hardest part of this room?
The hardest part of any project is making everyone happy, especially when designing for a couple who seems to want two very different results. Colors preferences are important clues to the desired “mood” of the room; in this case, Mr. Klein wanted something assertive and exciting, while Mrs. Klein was more interested in having a calm, relaxing retreat. For this space, I achieved the boldness that Mr. Klein wanted by using high contrast, high quality materials, with some graphic repetition. The softness that Mrs. Klein requested was accomplished by including a restrained palette with complementary colors. They have their shared space as well as spots they can call their own, all unified by the silver faux-finished walls and consistent quality. The hardest part of this project was the interview process to determine where each spouses wishes could be met without including elements that the other would find bothersome. The end result is a boldly styled yet relaxing and luxurious retreat that will suites their needs and lifestyle for many years to come. The hardest part of the room itself was the odd footprint, which required much more planning that usual.

2. What is the most important point of this room?
Every square inch of the design of the room is important, but the most important part of any project is the designer’s repore with the clients. Mr. and Mrs. Klein hired me because they wanted a “Christopher Arden” room personalized for their needs. From my point of view, the most important elements in the room are the high ceiling, the large amount of frameless glass, and the finishes and materials. These combine to create several lines of vision, which were all essential because of the odd footprint. Several focal points had to be created, each with equal importance. So, the most important point of the room is that the final result is a success, and it’s a success because of the client’s trust in me as a professional with a clear vision.

Questions:
1. What was the hardest part of this room?
Well, thre was no hard "part", the room itself was very challenging because of it's size and shape. I found it difficult to let the room neither look empty, not crowded.

2. What is the most important point of this room?
The most important point is the dark wood furniture. It calms the room down and makes it look more comfortable. Also, the pictures are important. The are modern and add the bright colors Mr. Klein wanted.

What was the hardest part of designing this room?
To me, it was all fairly easy! The hardest part was deciding where to put the 'office area' and the home theater system! I must have flip-flopped them a dozen times!

What is the most important part of this room?
I think the most important part of the room is the sleeping area, because it is the focal point of the room. The bed is so unique, and the sheet set I chose is bold, yet muted so as to please both Mr. and Mrs. Klein.

cassieandra

What was the hardest part of this room?
I think the hardest part of this room was overall the shape and size of it. Trying to make it look like you’ve used the space efficiently and it’s not too crowded nor too bare was quite hard, as was matching the colours with the furniture. I like the way it’s come out though, slightly wooden until you go through the arch and it turns modern but it still carries a light brown into the room.

What is the most important point of this room?
Probably the arch that goes through the middle as it separates the different themes and when you walk through from the bedroom it gradually shows that the other side of the room will change.

Are we allowed to use a real fireplace? Or is that a no-no because it's in build mode?

I never considered that...ditto, annay :)

Also, there was nothing in the rules about raising the ceiling height; I didn't change the footprint at all, but I should ask if that was ok too, lol

cassie and chelley, great entries! And thanks Gerbera :D

I love seeing how different everyone's style is

I wouldn't want to change my design either :) but I would if I misunderstood something about the rules. I like rules lol, and I'm sure we can all appreciate having them clarified if something wasn't explicitly stated or if we just aren't sure.

I'd like to agree with this, but I've tweaked entries before if there was time until the deadline, and I'm sure I'll do it again, lol

Yes. But I never thought of it. You can use those. As for the double ceiling its again ok because its something I never thought of. ;)

redwing- I think its fair to change your entry anytime durring the round. Who knows when you get a creative spark and feel like changing something or making it look better. Just let us know of any changes. :)

I think I'll have avatars for everyone by tonight as soon as I finish the last few.

Even when the creativity is sparked by others' entries? I guess the solution is not to post until just before the deadline. :)

Oh now I see how you feel. I think I will make a rule for the new round and try that out. I've never tried it but it just might work. But next round should be the most exciting. But thats all I'm giving out about it. ;)

But when you post your entry last minute, you could also take your ideas from other people's entries, couldn't you?! So it doesn't really matter whether or not you are allowed to tweak your entry until the round has closed ...

I think we should just try it for next round but I can't tell you why without giving to much out. :)

I try to make fair rules but thats impossible as both ways no one wins. But right now just follow rules that I gave and I'll add/ change any rules that I feel nessasary for next round.

What was the hardest part of this room?
I found it a bit of a challenge to marry the pale and bolder hues. I decided to use a neutral palette of white, pale green, muted yellows and cream - and accentuated it with bold elements like paintings, cushions and lampshades.

What is the most important point of this room?
The fountain is the central focus of the room, the element the brings together the sleeping area, sitting area, study and walk in closet.

I'll make newer ones. I'll only take me a second. But it will have to wait a few hours. I used Adobe Photoshop Elements 5.0. They say there is not option to make an animated GIF but there is and it comes bundled in the package so I just made layers and got this result.

By the way I'll post all the slower version here since I;m sure that someone will want something slower.

What was the hardest part of this room?

The hardest part was making sure I used delicate pastel colours but make sure there are bold colours to accentuate this.
I have designed two specific areas designed to suit each person a girly dressing area and a bold masculine area perfect for dressing and listening to music.

What is the most important point of this room?

The sleeping area is the most focal point in the room. the way the narrow passage way opens into the large sleeping area really draws you into the area. I love the calm pure feel of this part of the room and you can really imagine getting to sleep in this part of the room.

Perfect for getting ready for a girly night out:

Hmmm, post early so no one can influence you or post late so no one can be influenced by you, hmmmm lol. I was just so worried someone would use the same sofa (redwing lol...j/k!)

Anything in these contests that encourages people to push their limits and grow as artists/creators/designers is totally cool with me. I'm sure Cin would agree - :howdy: - in WNEP the quality of everyone's work just blasted through the roof with every round exactly because of that.

annay, the next round sounds really intriguing!

bekbek your photos aren't totally loading...is it just me? I refreshed a few times but they are all half gray to me. The halves that I can see look good though! lol

What was the hardest part of this room?

The hardest thing was probably finding things that sort of went together to fill the whole room. There was just so much space, it was challenging to make everything "go together".

What is the most important point of this room?

Well the most important thing is probably the bed, since it is a bedroom, but my favorite parts are the sitting area and entertainment area. I think it really finishes off the room.

What was the hardest part of this room?

The hardest part was creating a free-flowing space around a very awkward design! I got around this difficulty by sectioning the large space off into several smaller spaces: a spacious and inviting entryway, a traditional bedroom with fireplace, a sitting lounge with modern bookshelves and a big screen tv, and a walk in dressing room.

What is the most important point of this room?

The most important point in this room, as any room, is the moment you walk through the door. Since this is a master bedroom suite, I wanted to create a relaxing and romantic getaway for the Kleins, while still utilizing the boldness Mr. Klein loves.

I'm thrilled that hathompson has chosen this thread for one of her rare messages. I hear it's lovely in Australia this time of year.

LOL! There is nothing "just sims" about the amazing creativity on this forum. This is an interior design contest, not "just a room for just a sim" contest. Think outside the box, hathompson :) By the way, to preface a comment with "no offence" (is that spelled that way in Australia?) and then to say something offensive is...offensive lol

And wow these entries are really exciting and beautiful and unique and...wow :D

What was the hardest part of this room?

The hardest part was definitely trying to balance the requirements of two different people. You can't please everyone all of the time but I hope I have managed to give them both a room the will like and enjoy.

What is the most important point of this room?

The most important part of any bedroom is the bed! Most of their time spent in the room will be spent asleep so it was important to make sure they have a comfortable and relaxing bed.

1. What was the hardest part of this room
It was pretty hard choosing which colours to use, but I think I've found a pretty good way out of it. It was also hard decorating because of the shape, but again, I think I did it pretty good! I'm satisfied myself, so I hope Mr. and Mrs. Klein like it.
2. What is the most important point of this room.
The fireplace area is very important. It's a place to sit and relax and maybe get a glass of wine after a hard day's work. But also the bed area and the closet area is very important. The closet area has lots of space for clothes and for putting on makeup. The bedarea has plenty of space around it, and a lot of tablespace behind the bed for sculptures and lights.

The Most Important part of this room is definitely the bed. Hopefully I captured the comfort and relaxation a bed is supposed to offer. The elegant canopy top gives an impression of grandeur.

The hardest part of this room wasn't really the shape, but the colors I wanted to use... the room is spacious, so darker colors are more appropriate to bring everything closer together.

Ok scores are now going to be up. I'm really sorry about the long delay.

Comments: I like the way you tried to include both bold and pastel colors. The dark wood looks great! I like that you chose the walls to lighten up the room and meet Mrs.Kleins wish for use of pastels. You could have used one less dresser in the area near the bed. I couldn't quite see the area across from the desk and wish you had taken a 5th picture showing it.

Total = 102/150
Comments: I love the modern style of the furniture, it looks awesome. Although I don’t like how you used so many different main colors. The Kleins asked for modern and you did a mixture of modern, country and asian.

Comments: I love this bedroom! I like the all the details you included in your design. I’m not sure that you used enough bold colors to satisfy the husband though.

Total = 119/150
Comments: I like the design on the furniture you selected, and I think the room looks very cool, but unfortunately I don’t think you used enough pastel colors to satisfy the wife. I really like the room, however I think you just sent Mrs. Klein into shock. She wanted the use of pastels.

porcelainwhisper
Total = 124/150
Comments: I like the layout of the room, it looks well planned out and nicely decorated. However, I don’t think the color scheme really fits with what the clients had in mind.

eedgan
Total = 142/150
Comments: This is fabulous! I think you achieved the perfect blend of bolds and pastels and kept with the modern style the clients wanted. Your room looks very professionally designed. I love the walkin closet.

romyhorse
Total = 140/150
Comments: I love the unique design, it looks very professional. You included a lot of great elements in your design, I especially like the huge windows.

redwing
Total = 133/150
Comments: Hmm this room feels kind of cluttered to me, and I don’t really see anything that ties it all together.

cassieandra
Total = 95/150
Comments: I think your room is a little plain, nothing really stands out to me and there is a lot of empty space. No closet space?

Daltonism
Total = 120/150
Comments: I like your choice of green for the main color, it looks nice to blend bold and pastel greens together. My only complaint would be that the layout of the room is not very unique.

bekpek
Total = 119/150
Comments: I think you had a nice idea to divide the room so that there was an area for each spouse, however I think it would look too cluttered and poorly put together in a real room. What you could have done is used some design element to tie all the areas together, like same wall color, furniture style, etc.

SimsArtThat
Total = 146/150
Comments: Wow, this room looks incredibly professional! I love the angles that you take your pictures at. I know that you tried to blend both clients wishes but I do feel like the room comes off much more bold than pastel.

Chelleypie
Total = 120/150
Comments: I love the bed! I think you did a good job picking a color scheme that satisfies both husband and wife.

IceAngel12891
Total = 119/150
Comments: The design on the room is clearly very unique but it doesn’t appear that you spent much time considering the wishes of the clients. The room doesn’t come off very modern, and I don’t see anything about how you tried to pick the colors.

dannyboi888
Total = 107.5/150
Comments: This is nice, I like the blend of colors. There isn’t much to it, but in this room I think it works better to have more open space, so nice job!

brook_lynn
Total = 100/150
Comments: Your room is pretty, but I don’t think it’s bold enough to satisfy the husband. You were't supposed to change the size of the room or add walls.

For this round your client will be a company. More to be exact the Eternity Modeling Agency which can be found here (http://eternitymodels.proboards47.com/index.cgi)
Pleae look at the outside of this building:
http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h173/annay49/f_LLm_37ccdbd.jpg

The room that you will be designing is the front lobby of this agency this means the front desk and waiting areas and anything else you may like to include:
http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h173/annay49/f_LLLm_0b78e2f.jpg

http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h173/annay49/f_Jkjkjkm_73edc8e.jpg

Please note: You are just doing the middle room not any of the rooms around it. Please include the doors of the rooms on the side it should only take a few minutes to figure out where they are located. If you have any trouble with that please let me know. Also since I realise that not all of you own OFB the elevator may just be replaced with doors.

Rules- Please remember to put your sims name, your username, and round # int the title bar. Also no adding extra doors, windows, or walls unless they are already shown in the pictures. One extra rule to this round is that once you post your entry you are not allowed to change it. I would like to see how this will work.

Pictures-
*please take 4-9 pictures of detail shots of the room.
*One overhead shot of the whole room.
*1 picture of just the front deskAlso for this round
*please also take one picture of your sim and answer the following questions.

Questions:
What is the most important part of this room of the agency?

What in this design makes the room stand out compared to the other designs?

Would you like this room featured under the front desk section of the agency with your credit to your S2C profile? (Yes/No)

Room style: Please have this room be mostly modern and use your creativity for the rest of it.

Thanks guys and I hope you like this round!

Wow, another cool challenge.
Just to be sure: Are we allowed to change the flooring and the style of the doors and windows? (I mean we keep the doors / windows where they are, but replace them with others.)

Edit: Oh, and where's the front door? I can't see one in the pictures ... ^^

Go ahead and change the flooring and the doors and windows. Please just make sure that they are in the same pleace as found before. There is no front door. There is an elevator. If you do not have Open For Buissness please just replace the elevator with a door.

Also I don't know how clear I made this but the winner of this round who gives permission can have their picture of the front desk posted in the front desk catagory of the site with a nice little recognation to your S2C profile.

This might be a silly question, but I just want to be sure. Is the wall that has the 7 on it to tell you how long it is a part of the room or is it just to tell you how many tiles there are? Sorry if this is a dumb question..

wow...wow thanks judges! wow lol... :)

Sorry to see eliminations! :(
and congrats to those who made it to Round 2!

annay, I didn't expect a commercial project in this contest! awesome lol. A few questions (of course):

"no adding extra doors, windows, or walls unless they are already shown in the pictures." I'll take this to mean other things in build mode are ok, as long as they aren't doors, windows or walls...like the fireplace in the last round as an example?

Other than "mostly modern" we can do anything we want with colors, etc?

Er...how can we answer "What in this design makes the room stand out compared to the other designs?" unless we happen to post last, lol (sorry if that sounds silly, but I can't figure it out lol)

This is a reception/lobby/waiting room, NOT office workspace, correct?

I might as well ask lots of questions now, before I post lol.

Oh wait, most importantly..when is the round deadline? thanks! :)

1. Yes fireplaces are ok so are other things in build mode.
2. You can do anything you want with color.
3. "What in this design makes the room stand out compared to the other designs?" It means that just how is your room different from what it could be. If your room is bold tell why it deminstrates more about the agency then if it was not bold.
Make it an origional question saying you did something in your room and its better then what it could have been when you pictured it.
There is no wrong answers on these questions so just use your imagination any answer it anyway you want. ;)
4. This is a respeption room with a front desk. So a reception desk. No the offices are on the side and you are not in charge of those.

5.The round deadline is the 3rd at 10 PM eastern standart time. If anyone wants an extention just let me know and I'll give it to them for a reasonable amount of time. :)

This is a great round Annay! Worth the wait.

But, as always, I have a question: Do we need to construct the rooms around the lobby? Or will a 1 wall thick surrounding area be enough?

No just constuct the reseption area the rooms are just there as part of the picture.

A little table with books. All waiting areas have to have books, right?

http://i17.tinypic.com/4qd5mhj.jpg
An area to pour yourself a cup of coffee, water, lemonade, whatever your drink of choice is. I especially love the photographs of the models.

http://i12.tinypic.com/4znch9u.jpg
A little area to spread photos out, hang out with your drink, or whatever you might choose to use it for.

http://i12.tinypic.com/5z4k51e.jpg
This is the front desk. I wanted a functional, pretty space where the receptionist can be comfortable.

http://i14.tinypic.com/4ka10sy.jpg
I included a little area to read or lounge in, complete with fireplace.

http://i17.tinypic.com/52yjw3k.jpg
I also put a flatscreen in here, with a lot of plants to soothe nerves while waiting up front.

http://i13.tinypic.com/4kvchgh.jpg
And here I am, in front of the reading area, to conclude your tour of the Eternity Modeling Agency waiting and reception area.

What is the most important part of this room of the agency?
The front desk, I would think. It's the first thing people see and the first place people stop off. So I wanted it to be functional, and pretty. But most importantly, I wanted it to be easily accessible for the receptionist.

What in this design makes the room stand out compared to the other designs?

I think my use of space should be factored in. I also had the posters custom-framed just for the agency. I also think that my modern design style is very fluid, with lots of clean lines, and I think that the client will appreciate the professional, clean look.

Would you like this room featured under the front desk section of the agency with your credit to your S2C profile? (Yes/No)
If I win the challenge, definitely!

What is the most important part of this room of the agency?

The most important part is the front desk. It's the first thing clients see when they walk through the door, so it should be businesslike but eye-catching.

What in this design makes the room stand out compared to the other designs?

Well, as I have only seen one other room I can't really compare them! But I've used the colours of the agency to make it a bright, bold space.

Would you like this room featured under the front desk section of the agency with your credit to your S2C profile?

redwing, when you have uploaded the picture to e.g. photobucket, it will give you the URL of the picture. Just copy that and paste it in your post here, it will automatically turn into a link.
I hope that helped, if not, you can PM me and I'll explain it in a better way :)

Ah, and you can also name the link. To do that, go to "Go Advanced" and then click the Earth symbol (it says "Insert Hyperlink"). This way, you have to enter a name for the link first (like "This is the kitchen"), click "OK". And then you enter the URL you have just copied. Then click "OK" again, et voila, there's your Hyperlink :D

What is the most important part of this room of the agency?
I think the whole room is important because it's the place clients come in to and gain their first impression. But I suppose if I had to chose one section, it would be the front desk because it's the first thing anyone will see.

What in this design makes the room stand out compared to the other designs?
I haven't seen any designs as of yet, but I think mine will stand out because of it's simplistic layout and the fact that it has 1 bold colour - red.

Would you like this room featured under the front desk section of the agency with your credit to your S2C profile? (Yes/No)

Daltonism: you did obsess! it looks terrific!

So...I was late for work because I uploaded all my photos, figuring I could post them during lunch, and I find that, even though I "saved for web" at around 165 kbs, some of my photos are suddenly closer to 190, sigh. Does anyone know how this happens? So frustrating *grrrrrrrrr*

I'll have to resize them all later  lol, I thought I was done

Those are spectacular so far! Dalton, I want your graphics card!! :D

I have a question, though. I couldn't find a painting I liked for behind the desk so I made one that says "Eternity Modeling Agency." Is that okay? I know it's okay to use any custom content, but is this okay since I made it specifically for the round?

Thanks, pieridae

And I should think the painting is okay. I wish I'd thought of that! But I'm so bad at recolouring objects and I can't change it any more. :(

And thanks guys! I kind of liked how it turned out too! :)

What is the most important part of this room of the agency?
There is not exactly an important part, the whole design of the room is important. I made it very open to allow the sunlight to also reach the wall opposite the windows. I think natural light just looks better and feels more comfortable for the people.

What in this design makes the room stand out compared to the other designs?
That would also be the open style, along with the simplicity. I prefer to use only few colors. Here the dark wood and the white of the walls and the furniture or the main colors. Red sets special accents. This way the room looks more calm but still comfortable and very sleek and grown-up.

Would you like this room featured under the front desk section of the agency with your credit to your S2C profile?

I decided to divide the room into a reception area with two desks, one on either side of the entrance, a refreshment area as well as three seperate sitting areas. I know from my days as model, that models can be very competitive and occassionally moody (probably 'cos they're always hungry!), so I created three bold, sitting areas so that clients can 'keep their distance' if desired.

What is the most important part of this room of the agency?
I do not think that any one feature is more inportant than another. The elements come together to create a dramatic, functional room.

What in this design makes the room stand out compared to the other designs?
The bold and unusual use of colour.

What is the most important part of this room of the agency?
I think the first thing you see is very important. Therefor I decorated that wall with some great lamps and a great picture to give people a nice feeling. But also the frontdesk is important. I choose to make it simple and clean, and while you wait at the desk, you can look on some nice fish!

What in this design makes the room stand out compared to the other designs?I don't know. I think the colour-combination I used. Not many would had put green and purple together in a roomdesign, but I did, and I think it looks great together!

What is the most important part of this room of the agency?
Well, I think that the front desk is because once you walk into the room, you want to make a good impression, so its important to have an entrance that will dazzle your clients. I also think the waiting area is, because it provides your clients with a comfortable setting while they wait

What in this design makes the room stand out compared to the other designs?
I think the colors make it stand out, even though I used red and blacks with some accent colors, it still looks soft and inviting. I think its just enough, not too much so that it overwhelms your clients, but it has enough to where theydon't think you just threw in some stuff from a discount supply store.

Plum's Q & A:

What is the most important part of this room?
It simply must be the reception desk and waiting area. While I knew bold and modern was important to the client, I also wanted a space that wasn't so intimidating as to scare new clients away. I worked the boldness angle with lots of red, but also made the entry space a friendly and inviting place where nervous new clients can sit and relax while waiting to find out if they could be the next Tyra or Gisele.

What in this design makes the room stand out?
Definitely the photography test shot space. This allows new models a chance to get test shots taken by the agency without having to go to a different location. It also gives the agency a chance to see how the model will shoot first-hand.

Would you like this room featured under the front desk section?
Absolutely, yes!

I had great fun designing this room, so I hope you enjoy!

Gerbera I love love love the colour red you used! And those lights are so funky!
Eedgan Oooh, it's really symetrical! <3 And I really like the use of colour - it's really funky and fresh!
Sawcarn That's such a nice room! It looks so cool and purple! I really like the curved sofas, they're so pretty!
Redwing That's so striking! The dark wood and the purple roof thing, it looks amazing! <3
Iceangel I really like the use of colour to create a real smoothe atmosphere! In other words, it's v. good!
Pieridae There are so many good ideas in this! Like the test shot section and the area to relax after go-sees! Plus the colours look really nice together.

What is the most important part of this room of the agency?
~ It was very important to have this Reception Area and Lobby/Waiting Room showcase the beauty of actual Eternity Models. I’d like to thank TJSIMS05 for his express permission to use and edit images of these models to create 16 pieces of custom artwork exclusively for this firm. I was also sure to repeat the company’s name and slogan within the space.
~ Equally as important is how the space was planned. Because it’s large and open, visual separations (the complex flooring pattern, different types of seating) allow each area to function uniquely for different uses. The over-scale chandelier anchors the center of the room and ties each area together with its “roundabout” seating.
~ There are areas for clients to wait for an appointment, for models to relax and socialize or review details of their assignments with the Booking Agent, for having coffee while enjoying the view and the sound of the fountain; this is a very busy agency so lots of seating was essential. It’s also a fabulous space for receptions and parties because typical office clutter is relegated to the private offices.

What in this design makes the room stand out compared to the other designs?
~ For Eternity Models new location in Crystal Crove, I decided to go very upscale and luxe since TJSIMS05 indicated they’d be open to a whole new “high class” look. The moment someone walks in the door, they will know this is a very successful modeling agency because of the high-quality materials and expensive details.
~ Although I kept it modern, I stayed away from trendy colors, and I used one very expensive antique in the reception foyer to drive home the “Beauty is Eternal” slogan. To create a functional and stylish space is always a priority, but my aim was to bring this space to another level for Eternity Models by also focusing on comfort, luxury and quality.

Would you like this room featured under the front desk section of the agency with your credit to your S2C profile?
Yes, I’d be honored just to be considered.

What is the most important part of this room of the agency?

Having space for the models to sit and chat and chill out before they have to go under pressure again.

They also have space to eat and speak with their agents if necessary.

What in this design makes the room stand out compared to the other designs?

The wildly different areas I have created. The different colours and the use of lighting is quite different.
