How did you find out about our sorority? At this club... I think it's called Rum-a-Boom or something? I heard some girls talking about pledging your sorority.

What makes you the perfect canidate for Var Cham Annya? I'm different. No more too-high-heels, too-low-neckline, too-much-makeup girls. I prefer not so shiny and tight dresses, but something different and colorful. Also I really like hanging out and I'm new at the college so I don't have any friends yet. I used to go out with a group of friends back in France and I heard about all the fun you gals have - Var Cham Annya, here I come!

Where are you from: I am from the Desiderata Valley, a haven for upper-class housewives.
How did you find out about our sorority? From my advisor. She suggested, with my mom's urging, that I try more feminine pass-times.
What makes you the perfect canidate for Var Cham Annya? Well I'm a well rounded student and an all-round nice girl. I was my high school senior class president which I think means I'm personable. Right now I have a 3.5 gpa and am starting for the college's soccer team. Besides classes, soccer, and the occassional dorm party I've become a bit of a shut in. It's time to become my full self again.

How did you find out about our sorority? My older cousin pledged for this house, said she had the time of her life, I'd love to have a similar college experience.
What makes you the perfect canidate for Var Cham Annya? I' the life and soul of the party, very socialable and friendly and I can generally get on with anyone. If I can have roof raising parties in my tiny dorm room, think of what I could do in a whole sorority house!

How did you find out about our sorority? When I transferred here I had to attend a transfer student orientation one week before all of the other students arrived. Var Cham Annya was at the meet and greet the first night in the HUB and I got to meet some really great girls. After orientation my second day, I walked the campus and ended up on Greek Row. As I admired the architecture of the houses there, I stumbled upon the VCA house and saw a bunch of the sisters outside having a water balloon fight. It looked like a ton of fun.
What makes you the perfect candidate for Var Cham Annya? Well, I'm smart, funloving and loyal. I want to help better the school and town and I think that being in a sorority is the best way to be active in the community. I also want to meet a lot of great girls and make friends that will last a lifetime.

How did you find out about our sorority?

My class counselor.

What makes you the perfect canidate for Var Cham Annya?

Far from school, I am a popular, well known runway ruling model. In school, I rely on my brains for suceeding. Though I have hardly made friends...my class counselor says my fellow collegues can be nervy, 'cause of my rising fame. Really I wish my peers would see how fun, and layed back I can be. Being regularly harrased has forced me from many dorms I considered home, and dropping many of my classes. I realized, if I could join Var Cham Annya...I could probably change everybody's view of me, and also see my own place in a real school...versus being road schooled.

I usually chill in my dorm room, on my own. If I plan on socializing, I'm as far from my school as possible!

Love your girl's freeshot heart-shaped!
We only need 3 more apps... hopefully brooke will post round one while waitng on the final three(or more) so we can get this show on the road!

I'm so sorry- I said I would join, but I really don't have the time to be doing two contests at once and I've already drawn up my app for the other. You probably don't need to know, since it's not like I'm dropping out or anything, but I just didn't want to leave you guys hanging thinking I would be one of the three entries you need. Sorry and good luck to everyone :)!

"I would be the perfect candidate for Var Cham Annya for I am an academic student with a 4.0 in Physics (I intend to be a natural scientist so if you don't let me in my cow plants will eat you! KIDDING! ^^). Also I am incredibly neat and would be a perfect roommate except for the loud, late night parties I would be throwing but you would be there anyway...Additionally, I take pride in my appearance (as you can see!) so I would keep up the appearance of the sorority. Overall, I am the perfect candidate and I am determined to show people that blonds have more fun but can pick up a 4.0 GPA on the way..."

*sorry i am a couple hours late, family and i were out all day!!
Hope my entry still counts..!*

Hey! I'm Aurora Elisa Jase & I am 18 years old. This is my first year of college, [yes I am a freshman but don't let that fool you!].

I have lived everywhere, bouncing back and forth between foster homes, but now I live in Sunny Florida. I love it there!

It's kind of a funny story how I found out about your sorority. I wasn't at a huge party, but at a study group! Yep thats right..it was even in a library! I can have fun & party, while getting great grades at the same time. That's very important to me because I want to make something of myself.

I would be perfect for this sorority because I can make any time a good one. Growing up in foster care taught me to make the best out of what you got.
I finally was adopted when I was 16. Most kids don't ever get adopted that old, but I never lost hope. Now, it's my time to finally shine and I am going to make college the best time of my life. This sorority would be the icing on the cake!

I am always smiling!

Round 1

Optional Task

http://i35.tinypic.com/6ofxxz.jpg (http://img520.imageshack.us/img520/9025/julyjy2.png)

This is my hectic schedule. My major is kind of strange that some months I don't attend class at all but this month my class was really early, starting at 4:00am. I have to go everyday except on the 14th when I go home to see my mother and her 5th husband. Joy. Occasionally I have two classes a day like on Tuesday the 8th when I had a special Genetic class to prepare for the test a week later. I actually end class a little early this month and start a little late next month because my teacher is going to the Galapagos to complete a research paper. You may have noticed I didn't do anything for four of July.... I actually grew up in England until I was 15 (I don't have an accent though because I was around Americans...darn it!) so I never really celebrate it. I have to get 5 hours of riding lessons in a month in order to continue to receive free access which isn't that difficult for me this month because the stables open at eight and class ends at eight. Additionally I am the substitute manager at the local Deli, "Mmm" (yep! That's the name!) so occasionally I get called in if the manager is out sick or whatever. Err... this month I am having a little trouble. I am going out with this great guy Brad... but yeah, I met someone else; I'm going to tell him the last Sunday of this month when we always have a movie night. A major event this month is my internship at Natural Selection Magazine, the leading Physics magazine. I'm like major excited, I'm just worried all the guys will be nerdy. Not that many parties this month but I have the huge Summer bash at the end of the month which is always fun! You may have noticed my little notes about the parties I'm attending "HGs" stands for Hot Guys meaning that Hot Guys will be at the party. "Lil C" means a limited number of girls will be going which is always nice. Less competition! ;D

Task One

http://i34.tinypic.com/2l8gj1l.jpg (http://img359.imageshack.us/img359/9773/aerialviewofroomcu9.png) http://i33.tinypic.com/oaoqiv.jpg (http://img178.imageshack.us/img178/1593/mirroedk2.png) http://i35.tinypic.com/eqw4ck.jpg (http://img183.imageshack.us/img183/218/deskez0.png)

So urm... yes. This is my room. My roomate, Aurora and I aren't the weathiest people on the campus (despite scholarship money, I still have to pay $20,000 for college and I can't get financial aid because my millionaire-mother refuses to pay for me to study a "boy" major!). So most of the stuff in this room was found in garage sales. Except for the desk and the laptop we coined all our money to buy that, leaving us with 100 bucks to buy the rest of furniture! The T.V. was there when we moved in as were the plain brick walls that we managed to cover on one side. Err... you may have noticed the trash; we had a party last night. You should have seen it before. The second picture is our mirror. Neither of us smoke so I can't explain the ash tray is there. 0_o

http://i34.tinypic.com/14ik18y.jpg (http://img516.imageshack.us/img516/5825/roomiegh1.png)

This is my roommate, Aurora Heart. Although her appearance may be somewhat... scary shall we say she is one of the most kind-hearted and intelligent people I know. Aurora is only 18 (like me!) but she's at college for her PHD in Psychology after graduating high school at fourteen. Aurora and I met on the first day of this school year being assigned the same dorm room. We discovered a mutal love of musicals (yes, I am an in-the-closet drama geek) and Thornton's chocolates (Aurora's aunt is English) by the end of the day and have been best friends ever since. The reason for her extreme appearance right now is because she has challenged herself fit into all the different social groups on campus by graduation. So far she has been Prep, Jock, Emo, Goth and now currently, Punk. I think she has a few days to go when her next target will be stoner minus the drugs. The reason for this "social experiment" as she calls it is to help her understand different cultures. Don't worry; I don't understand it either.

This is me trying to teach Aurora a few yoga moves back when she was "prep" - I don't think she appreciated my effort. That's what I'm going to miss most about Aurora. Her dark sense of humor you don't get at first but then half an hour later you're like; O---M---G, she just insulted me. Yes, her jokes are mean sometimes but they're so clever you can't help but laugh. I will also miss the girly bonding sessions we sometimes have when she decides to be herself for a day.

Task Two

http://i33.tinypic.com/1xxt7c.jpg (http://img521.imageshack.us/img521/2093/aerialwz8.png) http://i33.tinypic.com/8wy3gk.jpg (http://img147.imageshack.us/img147/7318/pic1pz7.png) http://i34.tinypic.com/153u34l.jpg (http://img147.imageshack.us/img147/4823/pic2po8.png)

My pledge room is quite a practical yet pretty room with a simple kitchen, a study area and a living room as well as my bed. I chose a double bed because decorating this time around I have extra cash from a new scholarship I discovered just recently. Red is my favorite color but I thought it was a bit too hard for a bedroom so I used a softer, slightly lighter and pinker shade as my main focus for this room. My favorite part of having my own room is the kitchen. When I first started college I must of gained like a zillion pounds from having to eat chinese take-out or gross soggy sandwichs from the canteen so it's nice to be able to cook if making burnt grilled cheese sandwiches could be considered cooking. Although my boyfriend Josh does make a mean tuna-pasta bake. The one thing I do miss about the dorms though is the peppy cheerleaders that randomly run past and cheer. It really installs a sense of school spirit into you. GOOOOOO TEAM! The best part of joining Var Cham Annya is the fact I will finally settle somewhere. Growing up, I moved all accross England as my mother went through four husbands. Now at college I know where I'll be living for the next three years. Another plus is the parties of course! ;D

I know this a stupid question, but how do you tell if a room's 7x8 or not?

10th Jul 2008, 11:08 PM
when you place the walls, the blocks inside should be 7 on 2 sides and 8 on the others

Thanks so much! :3

Home sweet home! Or, rather, dorm sweet dorm. My roommate, Jamie Greenly, and I couldn't initially decide on a decorating scheme, but Jamie eventually gave in and let me decorate it! Jame isn't as much of a girly girl as I am, but we still get along well. She's a Mathematics major, and wants to be a natural scientist. Science and math aren't my strong suites, so it works out well. She can help me with my math and science homework, and I help her with her English and liberal arts classes. But anyway...our room is very pink, and it's very fun! I'm so glad I didn't get stuck with an ugly, small dorm. It's a good place to hang out and watch movies, but it works as a nice study area as well.

http://i159.photobucket.com/albums/t130/roselegacy/preview4.jpg (http://i159.photobucket.com/albums/t130/roselegacy/calender1.jpg)

Jamie and I both went to the same high school, although we didn't know each other until the last half of senior year. It was a complete stroke of luck that we ended up in the same dorm together!
Even though Jamie is usually serious and of course, super smart, we're both pretty playful and love hanging out together. Don't tell anyone that Jamie has pink PJs; she'd be so embarrassed!

Even if my dream comes true and I'm the next Var Cham Annya sister, I'll miss Jamie. She's the best roommate I could ask for, but I know we'll stay friends throughout university and afterwards.

http://i159.photobucket.com/albums/t130/roselegacy/roompreview1.jpg (http://i159.photobucket.com/albums/t130/roselegacy/room1-1.jpg) http://i159.photobucket.com/albums/t130/roselegacy/roompreview3.jpg (http://i159.photobucket.com/albums/t130/roselegacy/room2.jpg) http://i159.photobucket.com/albums/t130/roselegacy/roompreview.jpg (http://i159.photobucket.com/albums/t130/roselegacy/room3.jpg)

Yep, my new Pledge room is a bit different than the one I shared with Jamie. I guess it shows that I've matured a bit since the beginning of my freshman year...I designed it to be a calm place that I can come home to after long parties and even longer study sessions.
I'm sure that it'll be very quiet without a Jamie, but it will also make things easier. I don't have to turn the lights off just because my roommate is going to sleep, and I don't have to stay up because my roommate is staying up. Still, I'll miss the company of one of my best friends.
I think that the best part of joining Var Cham Annya will be the friendship. I'm a very social person, and I'm always up for spending time with people I like. And by joining this sorority, I'm continuing a family tradition.

Sorry for all the questions!

Having been moved over, and over has really given me very few chances for really befriending any roomies. Luckily...my counselor had a remedy for my bad luck finding a dorm for my kind of problem.

My counselor had found, Lauren Black...offspring of a famous lead singer of a popular rock band. Her dorm was pricey, plus far from school. Though I had no room for complaining.

Four weeks passed, and I realized my advisor has overlooked informing me of Lauren's horrific drug problem. Much as I enjoyed being her pal, I realized when L was abusing, she would be very dissimilar from her daily persona. I was scared. Though really, I was more scared for her.

I helped her. This had only driven her from me. Clearly, I could never save her from her personal demons. Now I'm moving, leaving her behind. I pray so hard for her, hoping God will help her vanquish her dilemma.

I will miss her dearly. She's my only friend. I promised her...when your ready, I'll gladly help.

http://i288.photobucket.com/albums/ll176/HEART_shapedballoon/DormMeMyRoomieTry2Clicky.jpg (http://pics.livejournal.com/hell_sings/pic/0000eawf)

In our office space.

Growing up an only child, has made living in a room with a complete stranger quite difficult. Now in my own room, I can walk around in my undies again, without anybody staring! The best part of leaving the dorms, was never having to wake up next to a sleep talking, naked drunk in my bed. Even more so, I'll never have to see cat hair, and floor cleaner on my toothbrush anymore.

Truly, I really enjoyed the casual atmosphere in our dorm building. However abnoxious my neighbors were, I can walk away knowing I was able to live through...complete torture.

Now I can look forward to a new beginning in Var Cham Annya. Where I can prove my real worth, to people who really want to get to know me.

Application - Meet The Pledges

Deniece McGillicuddy

Where are you from:

How did you find out about our sorority?
Natalie was in my Visual Anthropology class and we ended up working as a team on our final project: a photo ethnography of single mothers living Downtown. She and I hung out together outside of our project and she mentioned that I might like to join Var Cham Annya. So here I am!

What makes you the perfect candidate for Var Cham Annya?
I may be older than some of you, but I can still have a great time! My age difference is due to the fact that I took two years off recently in order to travel the world; I've got a zillion stories and had many adventures. I really like that your sorority is different from some of the other more "we're here in college to snag a business major hubby" and I think that my personality meshes well with what Var Cham Annya is all about.

The application round will not be judged, or counted as a round. I hope that clears that up. Let me know if there is any more questions!

If you would like to, but only two pics are required for both of the rooms.

How did you find out about our sorority? I found out about Var Cham Annya when I looked for universities to apply to, but forgot about it until recently; my friend mentioned the name during our conversation about her older sister. *sigh* Where would I be without my buddies?
What makes you the perfect candidate for Var Cham Annya? I love to meet people and no matter the situation, i'll always try to put my best self forward. I'm just going to say that I'll be bringing a crazy new kind of confidence with me! That may sound like I'm not very mature, but really, I'm usually described as energetic but sincere. You'll see when you get to know me - Can't wait, I'm so psyched!!

Although I have to dye my hair often for various reasons, I'm very proud of my natural blonde beauty! :D

New Faces, New Places

- Task One -

HER part of the room

Vannila Despret

http://www4.slikomat.com/08/0712/ipl-10.jpg (http://www4.slikomat.com/08/0712/z7n-10.jpg)

I've met her months ago when my dorm's principal put us together in a dorm room. She's goth or something... but she also has a "Sheena is a PUNK" poster so I guess she is like a metal-punk nerd. She is also very grouchy and doesn't seem to bother about anything. We didn't get along well - she said "oh is this dres suppose to look hippie or what?", chose the darkest side of our room and turned on the music. I got the sunny part of room and left her alone-
Oh I'm gonna miss the annoying sound of loud, creepy music and her lurky existance... NOT!

http://www4.slikomat.com/08/0712/uqu-9.jpg (http://www4.slikomat.com/08/0712/3m2-9.jpg)

- Task Two -

http://www4.slikomat.com/08/0712/ek3-14.jpg (http://www4.slikomat.com/08/0712/hrh-14.jpg)

The best part about having own room is the all-known "no-annoying roommate" thingy.
What will I miss? Tiny, old, cheap windows! This is way too fancy for me! Feels like a real castle... not that it isn't homely ;) But it is bigger than our whole lot!
Hey if all of the rooms are that big, then we could throw totally bitchin' parties! And I am almost sure none of you are noisy, gothic nerds.

Dorm Room:
My desk area and our couch & TV.

Our beds and "kitchen area."

We were lucky enough to get placed in a dorm that allows you to paint your walls whatever color you like as long as they are painted white again before you move out. We also have a bathroom that we share with the room next to ours. Sure beats walking down the hall to the public showers.

I was trying to show Audrey the sweet new dance I learned over Spring Break. She was not impressed, I guess.

Questions for Task One
1. Roommate's Name: Audrey Pennyworth
2. How Long Have You Been Roommates/Known Your Roommate: I was randomly placed with Audrey my sophomore year. Since I transferred here I didn't really have anyone in mind for a roommate and since room assignments filled up quickly, I got put in a room with a freshman (Audrey). It's kind of odd being older than her, but her trying to act more mature than me. I guess she doesn't want to be looked at as a silly kid anymore... but I'm holding on to my silliness for as long as possible.
3. What Will You Miss Most About Your Roommate?: I'll miss the times where she would let loose around me and act silly. The nights we would stay up until 4:00AM trying to make brownies in the microwave, watching girly movies and painting our nails. I will miss listening to her talk about her "guy problems" and giving her advice (little does she know that I never had a boyfriend until this year!).

My Room at the Sorority House
My bed, sitting area, wardrobe and desk. It's so nice to be able to spread out.

I was placed in a room in the front of the house, so I can look out and see everyone who walks past the sorority house.

Questions for Task Two
1. What's the best thing about having your own room?: I like having lots of room to spread out. It's nice being able to fit my ballet bar in my room so that I can practice whenever I feel like it. It's also great to have a full sized bed instead of a single! Now I don't fall out of bed when I toss and turn at night
2. What will you miss most about dorm life?: Being on the middle of campus and being able to get to my classrooms in 5 minutes. Now that I am on the outskirts of campus it takes about 15 minutes to walk to my first class. That's not a good thing at 8:00AM when you like to stay in the shower for an hour. I have to learn to better plan and leave the house in plenty of time.
3. What do you think will be the best part of joining Var Cham Annya?: Being surrounded by like-minded girls. I know the girls here share the same values and aspirations that I do. It will be great to share ideas with each other and help one another become amazing adults.

My Calender:
I'm only taking two classes this Summer term, but they are definitely keeping me busy. Not to mention all of my Greek activities and meeting Logan.

13th Jul 2008, 1:17 AM
Lenoba and ashleybrooke!!
Talk about hidden talent, i luuuurrrrrrve your rooms!
I've never bothered to decorate a room before,
so Round One will be challenging! :D

Actually, i was looking at those walls yesterday, Lenoba.
They look pretty good like that!

13th Jul 2008, 7:35 PM
I had to change my room, when I realized my black walls looked blue.

New Faces, New Places

Task One - Current Dorm Room

http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j96/emodawg/beaanddeeroomariellink.jpg (http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j96/emodawg/beaanddeeroomariel.jpg)

Me and my roommate Bianca kinda metaphorically drew down the middle of the room and decided we'd keep to our own sides which I think was the best way, avoids any awkwardness and it seemed the best way to kinda feel like we each had our own space. The somewhat childish wallpaper and the cartoon cutouts are a result of our combined lack of maturity.

My Side

http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j96/emodawg/deesidelink.jpg (http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j96/emodawg/danasside.jpg)

Ta da! I'm not usually very tidy but seeing as I have limited space I can't really afford to be messy. My drums are my most prized posession and I tend to decorate to match them.

Bianca's Side

http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j96/emodawg/beesidelink.jpg (http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j96/emodawg/biancasdide.jpg)

Bianca is a rather complex individual, despite being a complete studyoholic as the mini library suggests, she still has the most childish bedsheets ever! She plays the harp (which drives me absolutely insane! Relaxing my ass!) and is an English major, which explains about a quarter of her book collection.

http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j96/emodawg/beefagelink.jpg (http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j96/emodawg/tellittomyheart.jpg)

Me stumbling in drunk and waking a not to pleased Bianca...

Bianca Lovett

Bianca, or Bea to friends, is my friend Mikey's girlfriend but we were pretty much just aquaintances till the middle of freshman year. I helped her get rid of her previous roommate who was rude, noisy, messy and liked to bring *cough* "friends" back to their room at all times of the night. She asked if I wanted to room with her after I'd gotten rid of her roommate. I agreed because my dorm room at the time was MILES away from the middle of campus.

Bianca did look out for me a lot so I'll miss that, she would usually nag at me to get my work done which was REALLY useful and when I did come stumbling in drunk she'd usually get me coffee in the morning to aid the long and painful process of sobering up.

Task Two - Pledge Room

http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j96/emodawg/ariellink.jpg (http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j96/emodawg/pledgeroom2.jpg)
I had a pledge room warming party that's my room is full of balloons.

Extra shots

http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j96/emodawg/roomlink.jpg (http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j96/emodawg/headshigh.jpg)

http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j96/emodawg/roomlink2.jpg (http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j96/emodawg/summeroflooove.jpg)

All the bottles by my door? Erm I'm just a keen recycler...

I'm an only child so I'm not the best at sharing, having a room to myself again is awesome! Having my own room means I have sooo much more space and I can decorate or do what I want with it. I also don't run the risk of annoying someone else, I can stay up as long as I want without disturbing anyone for example and if I choose to I could walk around naked without making anyone uncomfortable, not that I would...

I think the biggest thing I'll miss about dorm life is boys: Not inn the obvious sense because I have a boyfriend but in th sense that too many girls all togetehr for long periods of time do usually result in unbelievable bitchiness which I wouldn't really want in a place I see as home. Dorms aren't as "exclusive" as soroity houses either, you're more likely to meet a varied bunch of people, living in dorms I think.

The best thing about joining Var Cham Annya will probably be making the friends and connections that will last me a lifetime oh and the parties, can't forget about those haha.

Schedule (http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j96/emodawg/CALL2.jpg)

My schedule was pretty relaxed schoolwise. July was pretty exciting as our band played our frist big gig and me and Chris celebrated our first anniversary! I'm really looking forward to me and friend's roadtrip at the end of the month too!

13th Jul 2008, 9:38 PM
Brooke, is it possible to get about a day extension?
I just realised that our family's trip to Wellington interferes the due date. :(

Very muchly appreciated. :D

14th Jul 2008, 1:56 AM
emodawg, I love her bottles of...EHEM...drinks.

14th Jul 2008, 2:13 AM
I have a quick question regarding Round 1, Task 1:

Are we allowed to add partitioning walls within the 7x8 space? (e.g. wall in a portion of the room to be a closet space)

14th Jul 2008, 8:44 AM

14th Jul 2008, 10:16 AM
ugh, I am so sorry. I have to drop out and i am soooo bummed about it :( my boyfriend suprised me with a vacation to the beach 6 hours away and of course i couldn't say no. This is the first time i've been able to get online since we left, and i have no sims since this isn't my computer. :(
Have fun everyone and good luck! i really wish i could of stayed!

14th Jul 2008, 12:57 PM
Walls are allowed and I will allow a one day extension :)

14th Jul 2008, 3:49 PM
Brooke, could i also have a one day extension? My science teach told us we have a test tomorrow, and i have to revise. So i will have no time on sims tonight. I'll try my best to get it done tomorrow straight after school but incase i can't - could i have a extension. Thankyou.

14th Jul 2008, 10:19 PM
The extension will be for everyone :)

14th Jul 2008, 10:21 PM
My main color scheme is blue because its my team colors and soccer is a big part of my life. I've got the basics plus the bunk beds that i'd always wanted as a kid but my mom shot it down. In a tight space like this one the only mess you can find is shoved under my bed.
My roommate Brittany is a typical girlie girl and her side of the room displays that well. She's a pink-a-holic but the screens help ease the transition of having to room with her.
Her full name is Brittany Bella White - no joke! I barely make it through being named Elizabeth but she definately lives up to her name. She is a beauty queen and has this annoying habit of doing her aerobics (in that pukish pink ensemble) directly in front of the tv... when i'm trying to watch! We've lived together since freshman year and I know she's gonna miss me. She loves to watch me eat -honestly. It was a bit strange at first but I think Im gonna miss having an audience at the dinner table. I'll also miss the way she gives a narrative of her day every night before bed. She's quite an eloquent speaker despite being very blonde otherwise and she's pretty funny. How will I ever fall asleep without her self-centered chatter?

I love that I have more space in the pledge house but I find myself missing Brittany - just a little. My mom stepped in once again and nixed my bunk beds but the rest was all, well, mostly me. The best part about having my own room is the fact that I'm now able to just relax after a long day of practice without any interruption. Besides Brittany- who calls me everday regardless- I think I'm gonna miss being able to go to the best parties in my pjs right on my floor. Plus their is always an instant study group whenever you need it. So far pledging Var Cham Anya sorority has rewarded me wth this awesome room. I can't even imagine what the actual sisters' rooms look like. I'm actually excited about the process of meeting all these new people. Not to mention the frat house across the street that has me considering 'bird' watching. ;)

Soccer keeps me pretty busy not to mention exhausted. Adding sorority stuff to that plus finding time to do stuff with my friends has been pretty hectic.

The answers are underlined. I hope that's okay!

14th Jul 2008, 10:41 PM
i love your round, TLAWBLIQUE360.

Round One
New Faces, New Places

- Task One -

Roomate's Name:
Margaret "Maggie" Rothson

How Long Have You Been Roomates/Known Your Roommate?
Maggie and I were randomly assigned as roomates in Castor Hall during our freshman year. Maggie's a Pre-Med student with a buttload of drive and energy but who still knows how to have a good time. We gelled really quickly as friends and, as a result, both signed up to be roomies in Theta during our sophomore year.

What Will You Miss Most About Your Roomate?
Maggie has a great sense of humor and quite a mischevious streak as well. She's the one who cooked up our plan to smuggle in and hide candles, incense, and her ciggies (normally a big no-no in the dorms) in our old tampon boxes whenever the fire marshall would come in for the semester inspections!

- Task Two -

What's the best thing about having your own room?
It's great to finally be able to have the ability to paint the walls and put up my own window hangings (goodness I hated those awful blinds in Theta Hall!) It's also been great to really be able to express myself in my space; it was really hard to let my personality and creativity flow in such a confined space.

And to be 100% honest, I totally love having my own bathroom! My first personal activity of the evening will be to take a nice, relaxing bubble bath!

What will you miss most about dorm life?
In the dorm room, we always had the other girls in Theta popping by and inviting us to go out and do things. I'll also miss "Shirt-less Thursdays," in which the boys on the second floor would run around sans shirts, knocking on our doors in the evening; I'll miss seeing Jason's rock-hard abs on a weekly basis!

What do you think will be the best part of joining Var Cham Annya?
It'll be great to make some new friends with similar interests! I really like the focus on "sisterhood" and belongingness here. I already feel like part of the family!

Thanks Brooke!
I've just gotten back - Wellington is a wonderful city.

I'm doing my pics now;
do all the dorm rooms have to have a door?
Stupid question, I know, but... :D

Wow I love everyone's entries! :)

16th Jul 2008, 9:39 PM
Task One

1. Roomate's Name: Lucy Meary.
2. How Long Have You Been Roomates/Known Your Roommate: I've known her since freshman year but we became rommies in sophomore year. We met in art class.
3. What Will You Miss Most About Your Roomate?: I'll miss her arty picutres being all over my walls. Nah i'll miss the fact that i don't live with my best friend anymore. We became really close mates in art class and we'r lucky that we live in a dorm where we get to chose our roomies.

Dorm Room.
We didn't pick sides as we mostly have the same intrest in designs and colour we just decided to stick Lucy's easel next to her bed and my sewing machine next to my bed.

We try and keep it as tidy as possilbe and that quite hard when you have a one art student and a textile student in the room.

Meet Lucy.
She's really nice and down to earth and she a really creative person who loves art.

Me and Lucy have really simular intrests so we get along perfectly. We both love art, even though she's better at me i still join her with drawing and all sorts, if i'm not in the mood to paint she asways paints me. She proper talented and can go a long way.

Questions for Task Two
1. What's the best thing about having your own room?: Well i don't have paint all over the floor. I can study in peace & quite also i can clean it as much as i want, i'm a neat freak btw. Dosn't matter right? Save more money because we won't need a maid.
2. What will you miss most about dorm life?: well i did'nt really 'party' over at the dorms so i guess the only thing i'll miss are the ready cooked meals and a study group a door away.
3. What do you think will be the best part of joining Var Cham Annya?: The partys and boy and meeting some great new people. i want you girls to bring out the fun in me!

My Plegde Room.

I can't help that i'm a neat freak.

---Bonus Task.

( i had no time to re-size pic so you'll have to click the link :))

My Schedule is pretty calm this month, i don't have any classes but i have some end of semester papers. I really can't wait for my dad's wedding even though i hate the bride! i can't wait for summer break me and lucy are taking a road trip to twikki island, Three lakes, tazmui village - FUN FUN and more FUN!

EDIT: YESSS! hope this is ok now because i have no time to change it and im tired. lols bedtime:D

17th Jul 2008, 4:42 AM
All done!

Everyone has such lovely entries! I'm having a lot of fun reading through them all!

17th Jul 2008, 7:39 AM
Wow, I survived more than 12 hours of crashing!
I really owe my family one, i used up all their computer time. :(

- Still in progress -

Task One

Arial View Of Our Dormroom

http://i277.photobucket.com/albums/kk71/jSQUIDGY/Contests/thumbsdfhg.jpg (http://i277.photobucket.com/albums/kk71/jSQUIDGY/Contests/ScreenShot00001.jpg)

Our dorms, in my opinion, were pretty nice. I mean, they didn't clash the wall and carpet colours too badly! :D
In the corner is our little kitchen area - I cook, and Betsy cleans up.
It's not much, decoratively or even practically - but we cope. :)

My Bed

http://i277.photobucket.com/albums/kk71/jSQUIDGY/Contests/thumbwgrhjl.jpg (http://i277.photobucket.com/albums/kk71/jSQUIDGY/Contests/2008-07-17_223934.jpg)

See, this is the 'bed' part of our room. We have a little wall for some privacy and personally I love the chandeliers - naturally I took the blue bed. A simple bed, some pictures on the wall, a plant in the corner. That's my trademark - I always have to have some kind of plant beside my bed. Betsy insisted on decorating a bit more, but i thought it was enough already! Haha.

The 'Living' Part

http://i277.photobucket.com/albums/kk71/jSQUIDGY/Contests/thumbrydfwgiuo.jpg (http://i277.photobucket.com/albums/kk71/jSQUIDGY/Contests/ScreenShot00002.jpg)

This is my favourite part of our room - where the couch is, and mostly where we hang out. It's not easy trying to live on a student budget, so Betsy and I always buy something comfortable and cute.

Roomate's Name: Betsy Jopler

Isn't she just too cute? I think she might do well in make-up ads! :D

How Long Have You Been Roomates/Known Your Roommate?
I've been fortunate enough to be dorm buddies with little miss Betsy for the past few months! We met each other back when we were still wearing High School uniforms, two or three years ago.

The year we graduated, she was in my class and we bonded instantly. She was an absolute girly-girl with an unusual passion for chemistry, while I was the sportier psychology freak. :D

It was great hanging out with her; we have huge debates and discussions every night and I taught her how to cook and Betsy taught me how to pick out gorgeous outfits from the most outrageous places!

What Will You Miss Most About Your Roomate?
I'm going to miss Betsy completely, especially how she never wore anything yellow. But I'll miss her even more because she's supposed to fly over to Austria in a few weeks. I wish her luck in my home country, and we promised each other to keep in touch! :)

Task Two

What's the best thing about having your own room?
It's so spacey and I can do whatever I want without having someone critique me about my decorating skils. (Not that Betsy did this often. :))

What will you miss most about dorm life?
Probably that Betsy and I could share chores, etc.
Also, having wild events happen everyday outside my door.

What do you think will be the best part of joining Var Cham Annya?
It'll give me new opportunities, and a chance to look at the world from a different perspective, with the help and influence of the Var Cham Annya sisters. I'm hoping Var Cham Annya can help me get closer to the woman I'd like to be - Picking up important life qualities on the way. :)

Meet The Family!

The family portrait that hangs in our dining room

From left to right: Melissa my stepsister; is 15 and yeah we fight like cat and dog (her being the dog obviously...). She's almost as spoilt as me which I don't like too much. Martin my stepdad is cool, a little boring but he usually backs up my case when me and my mum and me desagree. Rochelle my mum has to be my favourite person ever. We get on really well most of the time but like most mother-daughter relationships we can get on each other's nerves from time to time, and Me!

For a long time my family was just me and my mum because my dad was a (insert approipriate 4 letter word here). So me and my mum and I are really close, I use to follow her around all the time when I was little, hell when I come home now I still tend to do that! Martin came along when I was 13 and as can be expected I didn't get on with him too much and couldn't stand his then 9 year old daughter Melissa. By the time they got married when I was 17 we had settled into a normal dysfunctional routine.

Our house

Our house is the only one on outr street that's coloured, I think the people who owned it before us were hippies or something.

All About You

About me? I'm a philosophy major so when I graduate, if I don't get a job, I can atleast be a wise hobo. I'm 5 ft 8 and my favourite food is jelly beans lol. Shopping is what I do best so I relcutantly work at a little coffee shop to fund my habit. I'm also in a band with my boyfriend Chris, my best mate Adam, and my two other good friends Patrick and Mikey and we play predictable self indulgant screamo music and are proud of it! We mostly play for the fun of it (we don't aspire to be fulltime musicians) but sometimes do gigs for extra cash.

From left to right: Chris on rhythm guitar, Mikey on lead guitar, Adam on vocals, Patrick on bass and me in the back on drums.

Me and chris have been a couple for a year now, friends since we met during a freshers event and he has evidently been dropped on his head a few times but he's lovely!

My Hero

I genuine nice guy and friend to all, I feel we should all aspire to be a little more like spongeboob. His innocent childlike demeanor appeals to my total disregard for all things serious and boring and that is why he's my hero. He is also always very dapperly dressed.

22nd Jul 2008, 6:07 AM
Getting to know YOU!
Task One
My mom got the family home in the divorce. I dread going home nowadays so I usually just spend my days off school hiding out at the vacation house or hanging with my dad and my brother at his new place.

Here is my newly extended family. From left to right; There is my dad, James Monroe II, the media mogul and sports fanatic. I got my passion for soccer from him. He played when he went to private school back in the day. My relationship with him hasn't been affected by the divorce much. He's still my biggest supporter. There is his new wife Carolyn. Despite my best efforts to dislike her I can't. She's only seven years older than I am, model gorgeous, super smart-she's a journalist, and she loves my dad. Next there is me. I'd just gotten an aweful haircut so I wore the hat. It was pretty great that it also pissed off my mom. Next in line is my little brother, James III. He's 16 going on 21 based solely on the fact that he parties like one. He dates more than I do and doesn't do much else. Then there is my mom Sabrina and her beloved choodle(chow and poodle) Coco. I love my mom but she is very much a blond and so our personalities clash. The only things she knows how to do is be an heiress or a trophy wife. I used to resent her for it but now I think we understand each other better.

Task Two
I am a soccer fanatic! Just in case you haven't noticed. I've been playing with my dad since I could walk and have been ever since. Right now Im the starting goalie on the college team, "The Blue-Jays". I'm almost never caught in anything thats not blue. I'm studying to become a physical therapist but I plan on going pro. I volunteer at the YMCA when I can and coach the kids' soccer team. Its more fun for me than anything else.

Last spring break I managed to convince Brittany to go camping instead of to the beach. I offered to foot the bill for all the expenses and I kept quiet when all she bought was bikinis and flip flops. Despite her being mad at me for the first 24 hours of the trip, we had a pretty great time. We even tried log rolling. Right now Im single but I go out alot with my girlfriends. Last year I was seeing a male soccer player (surprise, surprise) but we were both too busy and so he found someone who was less busy and I found myself spray painting his car. Single is less stressful.

Bonus Task
My personal hero is my aunt Samantha but we call her Sam. Believe it or not, she is my mom's identical twin sister. She is a pop star and has been making albums and touring for almost twenty years now. Despite growing up in the same blue-blood environment that my mom did she managed to break away. She basically ran away from home at eighteen to follow her dream. She's fiercely independent, incredibly talented, and at forty she is in better shape than most of the girls on my team.

22nd Jul 2008, 6:23 AM
wow everyones round 2's look great so far :) cant wait to see the rest

22nd Jul 2008, 11:47 AM
**ATTN: I am posting this for Lenoba as she is on vacation and asked for the rounds before hand**

Round Two
Getting to know YOU!

- Task One -
Introduce us to your family!

These are my folks, sister Roline and my father Trew.
My mother left when I was only a couple of months old and Roline just learned to talk.
They are my dearest treasure. All the sacrificies and help they've given to me are just invaluable. Roline went to work instead of college to help me enter academy and shortly after she anounced she was pregnant and married the father. I hate to see how her life is not going anywhere... but I still love my only niece, Wind, she gave birth to last year.

http://www4.slikomat.com/08/0713/pxx-16.jpg (http://www4.slikomat.com/08/0713/v7m-16.jpg)

This is where we grew up. It is small, but filled with nice memories of my childhood and I would NEVER keep dark where I come from - a trailor park. So what, Father's hard work made it easy for me and my sister to grow up and my nature is stronger than most people's that grew up in a fancy suburban neighbourhood!

http://www4.slikomat.com/08/0713/5oj-17.jpg (http://www4.slikomat.com/08/0713/m6d-17.jpg)

- Task Two -
All About you!

http://www4.slikomat.com/08/0713/nt-18.jpg (http://www4.slikomat.com/08/0713/km4-18.jpg)
Playing with my puppy Weirdy

In highschool, I was known of my reputation itself. Just because I didn't fit any stereotype, I became infamous.
Here, pledging, I can't say I want to get in because my mother and cousins did. They didn't. I'm the first female of my family to ever leave for college - my mother was a hostess and my other relatives didn't bother studying either.
I was working hard to get here, because I know I can do BETTER!

Americha Hoff

http://www4.slikomat.com/08/0713/1js-22.jpg (http://www4.slikomat.com/08/0713/f6v-22.jpg)

She's a real hero. After raising her baby brother after the car accident alone, she fell into financial trouble and had to sell her body for money. She got aids and happily defeated it. After that, she opened her own hairdressers and earned herself enough money. She started to help other girls in her old bussines by employing them there. While her business grew, she slowly became famous and the city awarded her with a glamour prize.
I wish I would posess the courage and will she does.

I'm really sorry guys- I'm afraid to say i have to drop out. I finally loaded the bailey gang and after i built their house it crashed. haha emodawg! spongebob! i love it

23rd Jul 2008, 2:02 AM

My dad, Reed, remarried in December 2007. I really like knowing I can have a mom again. Even more wonderful knowing my new mom is my high school friend's older sis'! My pop really deserved remarrying, he had been working so hard raising me, he would overlook his lacking love life.

http://i288.photobucket.com/albums/ll176/HEART_shapedballoon/FAMILYPORTRAITClicky.jpg (http://pics.livejournal.com/hell_sings/pic/0000q7rh)

Reed, my dad, decided on adopting me, a week after his wife had passed from her long battle with cancer. He's really my cousin. Though he raised me as my dad. Being he was my only family member willing on keeping me, after my biological mom and dad had passed.

17 years passed, and Jay, and his older sis', Aria, came in our lives on a summer day in San Francisco. My dad fell head over heels for Aria, a 28 year old Sicilian sergeon, and I found a good friend in 19 year old Roman blondy, Jay. And our lives seemed fresh again.

http://i288.photobucket.com/albums/ll176/HEART_shapedballoon/OURPLACEClicky.jpg (http://pics.livejournal.com/hell_sings/pic/0000ssk3)

So now my friend is my Uncle, and my dad is happy again. They purchased a Georgian place. They'll be needing more room for a growing family.

Much of my younger years practically involved living in airport lobbies.

http://i288.photobucket.com/albums/ll176/HEART_shapedballoon/SECONDClick.jpg (http://pics.livejournal.com/hell_sings/pic/0000hz50)

My dad had his demanding job, which always had us moving, and my successful work as a child model, surely forced us living with chronic jet lag. Though enduring family bonding in the Sahara, can definately get a kid to appeciate their parents more often.

http://i288.photobucket.com/albums/ll176/HEART_shapedballoon/FIRSTClick2.jpg (http://pics.livejournal.com/hell_sings/pic/0000kc04)

Now...I have grown older, my dad has grown older. He's decided on passing down his wisdom, so one day I could show my own children how much our world can give, for somebody willing on a journey.

Though, since I currently don't have any kids, I figured my friends wouldn't mind experiencing my pride and joy. Atleast, for now.

Speaking on land hopping...I dropped in on my Jay's childhood buddy, and my supposed ex-lover a week back. He's been busy running his diamond mining company down in near Johannesburg, Africa...which means I've been seeing him less, and less. Which could mean breaking up...again. I need him. Though in same, I should move on...so he can move on.

http://i288.photobucket.com/albums/ll176/HEART_shapedballoon/LOVEYDOVEYClicky.jpg (http://pics.livejournal.com/hell_sings/pic/0000ryf8)

When I was old enough, my dad explained why he named me Josephine. I am only hoping I can fill her shoes. Why you ask? Well...Josephine Baker is famous for being a world renowned French performer, during an era of opression. Though, everybody should never disregard her glorious mind, which changed a racially divided business. Being seen as an individual was her reason for being so involved in making sure everybody would hear her speak up, and bring on change. I hope one day, I can as well.

[Sorry for using a real pic. I could never reimagine her splendor in such a simplified form.]

23rd Jul 2008, 2:22 AM
My family at Christmas - (back-left to right: my mom Jayne, nephew Louis, sister Isabelle, and brother-in-law Darin - front-left to right: sister Dawn, father Mitch and Me!)

My family is relatively normal. I was lucky, because my parents stayed together through thick and thin instead of calling it quits like many people do nowadays. I vow to be just like them when I grow up and find the man that I'll spend the rest of my life with.

My family is extremely caring too. When my sister, Isabelle, got pregnant with her second baby, Noelle, she quit her job thinking that her husband, Darin could take care of her & Louis. Well, Darin's company was downsized and it left them destitute. My parents went to Isabelle & Darin's apartment, packed them up and moved them into the apartment above their garage.

So whenever I go home I get to see all of them. It's great having an older sister to give me advice and a younger sister to keep me carefree. I love being the middle child. My parents treat all of us with love and respect. I couldn't ask for a better family.

My house.

When I'm away at school I really love spending time with my friends. I like relaxing by the community pool, gossiping with Shay & her boyfriend Eric. I love living in the VCA house, but sometimes being around all of those girls can be a bit much. So pretty often I spend the evening with my boyfriend, Logan.

Logan and I just met in May through a mutual friend. We didn't really click at first, but after spending some time with him I learned that he really is more sweet and sensitive than he comes off in public. Plus I'm really bewildered that a guy as handsome as him would want to date me. Sometimes I worry that things are moving too fast with Logan, but I really do like him.

Along with pledging Var Cham Annya I decided that this would be the perfect year to join student government. It doesn't hurt that Shay is the Secretary and introduced me to a lot of really cool people. This year SG is vowing to make the school more eco-friendly. I can't wait to participate in all of the fun green activities that we're going to hold this year.

Bonus Task

Something that a lot of people don't know about me is that I'm 1/4 Jewish. My grandmother on my mom's side was almost a prisoner in Auschwitz. If it wouldn't have been for her older sister, Chava (pictured above), she would have been taken and most likely died.

My great grandparents were taken early during the Holocaust, leaving 19 year old Chava to take car of her siblings Mariam (my grandmother) and Oren. Chava worked as a seamstress in a factory in Warsaw and learned one day that the Nazis would be raiding the ghetto that afternoon. Chava rushed home, grabbed Mariam and Oren and hid them in a crate in the factory. She told them not to come out until they heard the workers leave the following day. As Chava ran back to the ghetto to collect all of the belongings she could carry, she was arrested by a Nazi soldier. She was taken to Auschwitz and put to death after four months of being in the labor camp. She was one of over a million Jews murdered during the Holocaust. She perished but managed to save her brother an sister. She was selfless. That is why she is my hero.

Round 2
Getting to know YOU!

Task One - Introduce us to your family!

I come from a fairly close knit family. My dad, Richard McGillicuddy runs Llamasoft, a very successful software company, while my mom Kathleen is an accomplished classical vocalist (she used to be the star soprano with the Riverblossom Hills Opera Company before she had me). My parents were pretty overprotective when I was growing up (e.g. curfew of midnight, they have to meet all my boyfriends, having to call frequently to check in); when I was in high school, I thought that was incredibly lame, but now when I look back on it, I realize that they're merely being loving and involved parents. They've been great at instilling a love for balance between logic and creativity in me and my younger sister Joanna. Joanna is currently in her sophomore year at Crumplebottom High and I'm really proud of her academic drive. She's currently going through the same rebellions against parental authority that I went through at her age, so she's often calling me on the phone to complain about how "unfair" my parents can be.

Family Photograph
That's my dad and mom behind the sofa and my sister and I seated together. We don't normally look this cheesy; we took the photo as a gift for my Grandmother Janet.

My Family Home
Dad's a big fan of older homes. He bought this house when I was 15 and did a lot of the renovation work himself; I think it's really sweet that he painted it green for my mother, as it's her favorite color.

Task Two - All About You!

I'm an Anthropology major in the College of Arts and Sciences. I'm currently involved in the University Dance Troupe as well as occasionally joining up with the University Chamber Singers. As far as clubs go, I'm pretty active in the Anthopology Club, Classics Club, and Travel Clubs. I played intramural girls' hockey last winter and I'm considering signing up for it again this year (unless I get a role in the Ballet Company's production of Sleeping Beauty). I'm also pretty active with the various women's associations and helped coordinate last semester's Take Back the Night March, an event where rape victims and their friends, family members, and supporters gather to raise rape awareness. Having nearly been date raped myself, I found the event to be psychologically freeing.

With regards to other "extra-curricular activities," I'm currently seeing Todd Smith, a senior in Accounting; we met at a Take Back the Night March. Todd's a really great guy with a fabulous sense of humor and we gel like nothing else in this world! We love to go out to Mystic Bowling once a month and can often be found at the local Modern Art Museum on weekends.

In order to help pay for incidental expenses, I occasionally take up tutoring. I primarily focus on tutoring in French (of which I am fluent) or in History. I've also been known to breakdance for tips at some of the local clubs. I did do a brief stint as a bartender at the Ratskeller, but after one too many jerky frat guys felt me up, I had to quit.

Right now I'm looking to make some great new friends and have some fun new experiences and I feel that Var Cham Annya is a great place to do exactly that!

Here I am practicing for the big audition for the University Ballet Company's production of Sleeping Beauty. I probably won't be cast, but it's a lot of fun to try; besides, if I don't get a part, I might just sign up to help with costumes or set design.

One of my most important and favorite activities is... CAFFEINE BREAK! Oh, if there wasn't coffee, I don't know what I'd do!

Bonus Task - Your Hero

Portrait of My Hero

Photos of my Gramma Laura Bow which are featured on my mother's fireplace.

I really admire my maternal grandmother Laura Bow. She was a flapper and feminist before the word was ever popularized. She was one of 16 children and was consequently married off to a local businessman when she was 15 years old. Discontent with the concept of a loveless marriage to a man over 30 years her senior, she bravely divorced him (which incidently had her becoming practically disowned by her devoutly Catholic family) and set off on her own with the goal of educating herself.

The first woman in her family to go to college, Gramma Laura studied medicine and wanted to be a doctor. In order to earn the money for school, she got a job as a speakeasy dancer and singer in the 1920s, where she met my Grandpa Herman. She struggled against the accepted norms of the day, but in the end achieved her goal with the loving support of my grandpa and ended up becoming a great doctor. She died before I was born, but my mother told me so many stories. I really wish that I had been able to meet her; I like to think that she'd be very proud of me today.

Here's my family and our house back in Veronaville. The woman to the far left is my mom, Lana. To the right of her is my dad, Richard. My little sister Teri is sitting on the ground, and I'm giving the peace sign.

I get along with my family pretty well, although I'm glad I have a place of my own . I'm not very close to my dad, because he was always on business trips and at work when I was growing up. Even at his age now, he refuses to retire. He's stubborn, but loving.
My mom is awesome. We're really close, and talk on the phone almost every day. Although she was a university professor, she quit to raise her children. She's now a guest lecturer at several different universities.
Teri is 4 years younger than I am. We fought a lot as kids, but now we're best friends. She is a super talented singer; I wish my voice sounded like hers!

http://i159.photobucket.com/albums/t130/roselegacy/round2pre3.jpg (http://i159.photobucket.com/albums/t130/roselegacy/round2-3.jpg) http://i159.photobucket.com/albums/t130/roselegacy/round2pre1.jpg (http://i159.photobucket.com/albums/t130/roselegacy/round2-4.jpg)

Even though I'm very social and love being around my friends, I'm also an avid reader. I'm in the university's book club, which is also a great place to make friends with people you might not usually talk to.
In high school, I was the kind of person who would befriend freshmen and transfer students; whenever I saw someone sitting alone at lunch, I'd sit with them. I think I have a talent for understanding and relating to all different kinds of people. My circle of friends is very, very diverse.

My mother had her birthday party at a very upscale restaurant, so I dressed up a bit. I look so much different with make-up on!

HEY! Round 3 sounds like a BLAST!

23rd Jul 2008, 10:47 PM
Sorry about it taking so long!! :(

Each of you were judged on the following:

1. Overall decorating: X/5
2. Resemblance to an actual dorm: X/5

Task Two
1. Overall decorating: X/5
2. Creativeness of room: X/5

Optional Task
1. Creativiness: X/5

Total: XX/20
With a maximum score of 25 with the bonus points.

1. Lenoba/Duana Oetker - 17/20
Comments: I love your use of maxis objects in the dorm & your pledge house room is amazing!
The Calender was a tad too small. I couldn't really read any of it. Task two was what I'd think a Sor. would be like.
i really cant make out a "dorm room" in task 1. it seemed to fancy and/or boring. but you deffinately made up with it with the pledge room. its colorful and bright. love it.

2. TLAWBLIQUE360/Elizabeth Monroe - 21/20
Comments: i loved how you decorated your side of the room. i didnt care for her side that much, but i didnt deduct points for it. i loved the layout of it. The pledge room looks okay. but it didnt "wow" me. your calender is awesome though. i love the little stickers you put on them. very creative
I love the calendar, you really had fun with it!
Task Two lacked the deco. that the dorm did.

3. simcharley1990/Ameila Bailey - 18/20
Comments: Very romantic rooms, gorgeous!
Task Two really lacked deco. Your in a Sor. Pledge house let the creativity come out.
i really didnt like the pledge room, it seemed kind of boring. i DID like how you put what each of your girls liked in their side in the dorm room (painting/sewing) your calender looked amazing. love the little scribbling.
You worked extra hard on the dorm and left the Sor. Pledge room really empty.

4. emodawg/Dana Lewis - 22/20
Comments: The dorm is big but you have to show that it's cramped like real dorms.
i just love the dorm room! so much STUFF! i loved how you made it "lived in" the only problem i had was with the pledge room, it could of had more walls for a kitchen/bath area. your calender is nice. it seems to fit her well
I love all the clutter, so realistic!

5. ashleybrooke/Naomi Kirklin - 20/20
Comments: I love that couch in your dorm room!
the beds are alittle close to be dorm-like.
your "dorm" really doesnt look like a dorm room and the pledge room seemed kind of empty. but i do like your choice of furniture

6. Simply_Sims/Emily Clark - 17/20
Comments: your rooms seem empty and boring. although i did like how you have each room with a color scheme. i just thought there could be more "stuff" in your room
Your calendar is adorable! Very neat & clean rooms.
Loved that you added the picture to the calender. The decorations were really lacked in both rooms.

7. HEART_shaped/Jo Douglas - 21/20
Comments: I like the "lived-in" feel of the pledge room.
I love the dorm! It's not just a big open space.
i like the modern look to your rooms. and i also love the pictures of you and your roomie on the walls in your dorm room. but i think its too sophisticated for a college student. but otherwise great job

8. NiamhIE/Josie Holt - 19/20
Comments:I like how the Pledge room showed that she wasn't limitless and restricted.
i think your rooms look "good" although i really didnt like the wallpaper or windows of your dorm room (i didnt knock off points). i like your pledge room, its so cozy compared to your dorm. but i think it needs more walls and "stuff" . your calender is good. she's a busy girl
I like the fact that u made the dorm room messy, it really gives the feeling of it being a dorm!

9. _RIPMYJEANZ_/Cheyanne Cordelli - 9/20 **INCOMPLETE**
Comments: Incomplete entry!! I really wish you would have finished this round! :(
Task Two?

10. CisteCaise/Deniece McGillicuddy - 23/20
Comments: I like how the dorm room is seperate, I love privacy
Clutter EVERYWHERE! I LOVE IT! i love the closets in the dorm room. your a great decorator
I like how you sectioned everything instead of one huge square.

11. xJOLFx/Yulia Rose - 9/20
Comments: Incomplete entry!! :(
love the dorm! but its incomplete

TOTAL Score: 37/40

4. HEART_shaped/Jo Douglas
Round 2 Score: 23/20
Comments: Very good round 2 and a very creative story however i did have to read it a second time just to make sure I got it right, so it could have been a little bit clearer but otherwise great.

TOTAL Score: 44/40

5. ashleybrooke/Naomi Kirklin

7. Simply_Sims/Emily Clark
Round 2 Score: 14/20
Comments: While this entry has everything required in future I would recommend perhaps slaying it out using headings as I found it a little difficult to judge. However I did like your family story so well done there.

Round 3 - Scavenger Hunt

I was pretty excited to get to do this scavenger hunt. Of all the sorority events this was more my speed, Just childish fun. Also, Ive got a competitive nature that I just can't shake so winning was on my mind. Unfortunately I had soccer practice so I had to do as much as I could in two hours. I donned the most ridiculous disguise(it was all I could find and I was roasting all day) and headed out on the hunt.
This one was pretty easy. I just called up my brother and had him loan me his sixteen birthday present for a few hours. He wasn't too happy about having to trade his mercedes for my jeep wrangler but he's a good little brother so he obliged.

This felt like a scene right out of Wedding Crashers, one of my favorite movies. As luck would have it, I found a couple having a wedding in a nearby park. After the vows I just jumped in as my friend quickly got the shot. I didn't wait around to see if anyone was p-o'ed.

This was the last photo I took but it wasn't the hardest to find. The college campus is full of eccentric hair styles but I was just a little timid about kissing a stranger.

This was by far the hardest and most embarassing task to complete. I had to make several calls to find a video set I could visit in time. When I arrived at the location I quickly realised that it was a pop video...with choreographed dancing! It took quite alot of coaxing for me to sneak my way behind the dancers and bust my best dance move, all while trying to remain inconspicuos and failing horribly.

I knew the fashion building on campus had some pretty awesome mannequins so I wen there first. I did my best to immitate drawing inspiration from Madonna's 'Vogue' video.

If your first thoughts are that we stole our groceries then tsk tsk! The cashier seemed weary of our fake IDs as she scanned our various bottles but we thought we were home free when she finished ringing up our items and told us how much it cost. Our hurry to get packed and out of there raised her suspicions though and before we knew it we were being chased back to halls by the police. We got away but have avoided that sumpermarket ever since in fear of being arrested for stealling a shopping trolley and some baskets...

My step dad's pride and joy! Buying that Mustang is probably the only unsensible thing he's ever done in his LIFE but he's serious about who gets to drive it... It took three hours of convincing before he let me just take it round the block!

Me and my two best girl friends always said we'd go skinny dipping before we finished college. The opportunity came when we found perhaps the only deserted beach in the country during spring break. We didn't waste it though!

After 20 minutes of liberation we got dressed again and headed into town for something to eat. When we came back a few hours later, someone (we thought it shag carpet to begin with so imagine our shock when it started coughing...) had washed up on the beach in a pink gorilla suit! After screaming for about 10 minutes we did get help, we never got the opportunity to ask why the outfit choice though...

Getting Chris to agree to a mowhawk (much quicker then dreadlocks) was tough but even he had to admit he looked amazingly hot with one. Waiting for the bus home was definitely enjoyable haha.

Round 3
Scavenger Hunt

Number 1 - Deniece with a Streaker

When I was going to meet with Professor Heim in his office in the Louis de la Parte Medical Building, this strange guy was streaking around the building. When Maggie took this photo of him, luckily the bust of ol' Louis covered the streaker's naughty bits (which really weren't all that impressive, hence my snickering expression in the photo).

Number 3 - Deniece with a Bride & Groom

I had this photo in my personal album; it was taken when I was the Maid of Honor at my dear friend and TA Carla's wedding this year. The wedding was really beautiful and she and Dennis seem awfully happy and cute together. I also had some happy fun myself with the Shaun, the handsome Best Man...

Number 4 - Deniece Behind the Counter at a Bar/Number 11 - Deniece with a Biker

I used to bartend for extra spending money and I did a brief stint at Club Sky downtown. We had all sorts of interesting customers, including the Hell's Angels. I actually got pretty chummy with Tortuga, the biker in this picture, as he was a *huge* fan of my Whiskey Sours.

Number 7 - Deneice Kissing a Male with Dreadlocks

This is a picture of me giving a good-luck kiss to Dennis, Carla's brand-new hubby. Before anyone gets suspicious or judgy, Carla herself took this picture for posterity. I may have an eclectic taste in men, but I definitely stick to the non-committed varieties.
