World Zombie Modelling Association

Itís fabulous! Itís amazing! ItísÖgrotesque?!
At the World Zombie Modelling Association, the founders like to believe that our undead fiends have feelings too, and that on the inside theyíre a bunch of beautiful flowers. Well too bad modelling is all about whatís on the outside, but fortunately the leaders of WZMA know what this gig is all about. Itís not about beauty - its about the Creep Factor. And this month the world is going to see what Zombieís, trying to make it in the world of glitz and glamour, are really all about.
Itís going to be painful.

Picture Creativity: 10
Creepiness: 10

Picture Creativity: Each round is going to require, for at least one photograph, a scene to be set for your picture - and itís your chance to try and make it stand out amongst the rest.

Okay, how do I get a zombie other than bringing somebody back from the dead? Sounds like fun but that's the only way I know that you get a zombie. Is there another way since we need a real one, not a CAS one?

TRIriana
31st Mar 2009, 12:11 AM
Chowgilly, I'll add you as a judge right now. :P

Deatherella as far as I'm aware, that's the only way to get a Zombie in the game - unless anyone else is aware of another way. :).

More questions, since I have my game loaded at the moment . . .

Male or female? It doesn't state a gender in the ap or rules list. I found likely candidates in both sexes.
Teen or Adult or Either Or as long as it's a zombie?
If I'm photoshopping, can I use a picture from something outside Sims2 for a backdrop? And save myself the trouble of making a ton of wall panels to paint it on in game?
Would you like a nice collage of my Sim dying and becoming a zombie for the other shot? Just an idea. Don't know if you're taking collages.

TRIriana
31st Mar 2009, 2:38 AM
Male or female and teen to elder. I'll add that to the initial post, so thank you for reminding me!

Any backdrop is perfectly fine, though extra points wouldn't be awarded for Photoshopping ability. Collages will be accepted for the application round, as it is an Other picture that's required. However they won't be allowed during subsequent Rounds.

Ok, thanx for letting me know. Wasn't looking for extra points on the background, just a faster way to get it behind my zombie.
I'm so mad at me -- I found a ton of cool creepy stuff to use and then forgot to put all the stuff I just downloaded in my game along with all the stuff in my stash folder that usually isn't in my game. Now, I have to do part of the pics, quit the game, add cc, start up again. And find some spanish moss to hang from all my dead trees. LOL.

Sounds really interesting. I might join this, if I have the time to cook up an application form.

Just a few questions:

1. Can we put some kind of grisly makeup on our zombies, you know, to make it more zombie-ish? The sim will be a zombie, of course.

2. When exactly is the deadline for the apps? I know it's one week, but when will the exact date be?

That's about my questions, I guess.

Name: Briar Ailey
Age: 16
Place of Residence: Uncle Albert's Basement, Strangetown

Short Biography: My parents died in an insect related disaster when I was ten years old leaving me with my only living relative, my Uncle Albert. Uncle Albert is an incredibly wealthy man who lives in a mansion in Strangetown. He has a wife and his own kids so itís safe to say he didnít want the burden of me. I used to be such a happy child, my favorite part of the day was when school was out and I could spend the afternoon climbing trees and exploring the woods. Now Iím just lost, lost and aloneÖand hungryÖIf I scratch at the ceiling enough Iím sure I will find a way out of hereÖI hear the children running across the floor above me; I hear their high-pitched laughter and squeals. I can almost reach themÖ

How I Became a Zombie: Uncle Albert is very interested in science experiments. He has too much money, too much time on his hands, and too much evil in his heart. I don't remember much except blood and pain, but I know my uncle did this to me.

Name: Charlene Blooms
Age: 38 (died at age 36, resurrected as a zombie a year later)
Place of Residence: A small, abandoned house in the forests

Bio: I was born into a wealthy family, with no morals inherited from either parents. Nightclubs, bars, boyfriends and some shots of cocaine--I attracted danger in short words.

By the time of my death, my personality had been mysteriously switched--maybe it was something that happened in that strange afterlife, or it really does happen naturally with zombies. I came back to life, now driven away from the high society life I lived before. I live in a small house in the forests, in fear of people finding me--and discovering my true self.

Road to Zombification (How did I become a zombie?): Now we get to the grisly details: I died under my lover, at his bed. Apparently he won't let me go and won't let anyone else have me, so he smothered me with a pillow. I was dragged outside to the forests and was buried there. Two months later my body was discovered, but it was buried again there, left alone to rot. A year later I was resurrected by a group of college students who thought practicing necromancy wouldn't be so scary. So the rest--you probably shouldn't know, lest you lose your lunch.

Oh don't worry--I'm sure a bit of blood and gore here and there is a plus :D

Thank you :) The story was something inspired by the numerous crime shows I've been watching lately. I've also been in a moody state as of now so I thought this would be a great contest to express that moodiness.

The Basics

http://i265.photobucket.com/albums/ii217/deb666/Sims%202%20WZMA%20Contst/DD-Ap-3.jpg
Residence of Late

When I was a young, foolish, naive, stupid, whatever teenager I ran away from home to live the rock life. Things were moving along just fine and dandy until I found myself about to become an unwed teenage mother. Oops. Since even lighting up a cigarette made me barf, I opted out of the latest tour to lay around living the rock life without the screaming fans, booze and "bus" sickeness. Some lover of mine drove his drunken arse head-on into a semi truck along with everyone else on a Texas roadway. During the next few years I became really depressed scratching maudlin, sinister, dark writings into my notepad and marrying the next loser that asked. After getting smacked upside the head a few times, I decided I had enough of this poop, and so one morning I crammed my car trunk full of stuff, crammed my kids into my car, grabbed my guitar and took off. I spent the next ten or so years working in a battered women's shelter and re-living the rock life. After a few years, being surrounded by idiots full of booze and full of themselves, I thought I'd just come live in this old schoolhouse with some of my sons outside a Wisconsin boonie town and enjoy the good life out here in all this fresh air with three cemetaries within walking distance if you consider a country mile within walking distance.

The Becoming

http://i265.photobucket.com/albums/ii217/deb666/Sims%202%20WZMA%20Contst/DD-Ap-4.jpg

There was a time when I could say to my youngest son (I have five, you know) that it's "MY TV, MY PS" and take it over. But I haven't lived for thirty-six years without learning a few tricks, being a smart mommy, I sent him outside to split some wood for the furnace and then took over his X-Box. Finally! Time to play my new RE5 -- which I bought the day it came out and haven't been able to pry my kid away from since. Ooooh, some time to play my favorite-est PS game ever -- on an X-Box.

I quickly ran up to the loft and plopped my derrierre in front of my television before my kid could see he'd been had, fired up my latest Resident Evil and feeling confident I could piss off some ten-year-old in New Jersey, I went online for my zombie killing joy.

I was happily slaughtering the undead to my black heart's content when suddenly there was a loud banging outside and I felt a jolt run up my arms into my body through my game controller. My tv sizzled into snow and faded to black before a nice big Umbrella logo filled the screen. I heard the most unearthly howling outside, jumping up thinking, "Omigod, my kid! He must've hurt himself with the splitting maul and got zapped or something on the satellite dish." Never mind the wood pile is out back and the satellite is on the front of the garage -- a good panic is a good panic. I ran out the door and my world had changed. The yard had gone dead, there were zombies coming from everywhere, and where are my kids?

This couldn't be right. Do I have a brain tumor? Did someone slip something into my last cup of coffee other than whiskey? Frantically I tried to run about like a chicken with its head cut off but I was surrounded by creepy undead things.

"Mila! Mila! Help me! Carlos? Claire? Chris? Jill? Somebody!!! HELP!!! HELP!! Hellllllll . . . . ow."

I was overcome. I fell to the ground whimpering, succumbing to the merciful blackness. I was killed? I felt my body changing and pulled myself up from the ground. So hard -- my parts just don't seem to be working right anymore. I looked down at myself . . . aiiieeehhhhhh!!!! I'm about as blue as a social worker in hell. I ran into the house and found a mirror. I screamed and smashed it as I saw my face change. I ran outside, ran past all the zombies gathered in the yard, ran down the road, ran into the nearest cemetary when I smelt something tasty in the air. I ran out the cemetary gates to the house on the corner, ripped the door off the hinges and found my daughter's friend and her husband pretending they were Siamese twins in their livingroom. They jumped off the couch, backing up, shouting out something I couldn't quite understand. Oh, they are so nice to invite me to dinner, huh? Mashed potatoes, my favorite. Mmmmm, red wine gravy. Nummy.

"Get up, you two. Make me dessert."

Oh-oh. What happened? Did I do that? Oh-oh. I better get outta here.

I ran back outdoors, back to the cemetary and hid in a crypt hoping no one would find me and arrest me for . . . for . . . red rum . . . ? What is word? I have brain cramp . . . brains . . . . must have brains.

Oh god, now I now I am one.

Zombie Name: Cynthia Flinton
Age: 33
Residence: My house in Alpria Hills
Bio: I have two kids and I am a stay at home mom. My favorite thing to do is take care of my kids.
How I became a zombie:
One day Cynthia Flinton was home alone while her two kids of ages seven and nine were out at a Carnival with her husband. She had been cleaning the house all day and was getting ready to lay down for the night upstairs. As she was reading a book, she heard a loud crash and immediately after came loud footsteps like work boots walking over a wooden floor. Cynthia didn't have a gun, but insisted to check out what happened. She grabbed a golf club and proceeded to slowly glide down the stairs.

When she got to the bottom of the stairs, which seemed like an eternity to her, there was two ways to go. She nervously put her back to a wall and checked around both corners very hastily. She then proceeded to go down the right hallway, leaving the left corridor to lay silently throughout the night. Cynthia then entered the dining room, which was paved by moonlight shining through the drape covered windows. As soon as she reached half way across the dining area, she heard a loud thud in the kitchen, which was directly after the dining room. Cynthia then became reluctant to want to go any further into the depths of her night ridden two story home. As Cynthia was standing near the entrance to the kitchen, she noticed some movement in the darkness that has fallen over her kitchen like a demonic spirit inhabiting her home. Cynthia then immediately realized that it was a burglar, and tried to run back upstairs. As she went to bolt around the corner back into the hallway, she was grabbed into a powerful embrace...

Cynthia was now in a struggle for her very survival, against the beast of the night. She struggled to break free, but it was to no avail. The burglar reached for the golf club and pulled it out of her clutches, immediately after throwing it aside into the corner of the moonlit room. The burglar then held her down, and attempted to take off her apron and dress, but Cynthia was able to free a leg and kicked him off of her. The burglar became enraged, picking her off her feet and punching her in the face and throwing her violently against a wall. Both the burglar and Cynthia were pouring blood out of their noses. The fleeting woman ran into the kitchen, desperately looking for a knife. As she was searching, she had gotten blood on the refrigerator. Cynthia then found one on the counter that she must have forgotten to pick up after cleaning for the day. She quickly turned around to see the burglar standing in the entrance to the kitchen; her only means of escape. Cynthia then threatened to stab him if he didn't let her go, he then laughed and proceeded to step aside. Cynthia took this as her only opportunity to get away and ran past him into the dining room. As she looked back through the corner of her eye, he had pulled out a gun and fired. It was too late for Cynthia, as she instantly fell motionless onto the floor in a pool of fresh blood.

About an hour passed before her husband and kids pulled into the driveway in their SUV. The kids had big stuffed animals and everyone was joyful and gay, unknowing of the horrors that await them inside their own residence. When they had gotten inside, they then went into the living room to sit down their stuffed animals to play with the next day. The older child insisted on getting a glass of juice before going to bed for the night. The child went into the dining area and froze solid like a deer staring into headlights. The child then let out a half muffled scream, as the child could barely talk because of what lied before her. The husband and younger child charged into the room only to witness their dead mother and wife laying on the floor, still as can be. The father attempted to cover the children's eyes, but they began to weep and let out mournful yelps. The husband ran up to Cynthia to see if she was still alive, but she was well into her eternal slumber...

Three days has passed since that terrible, and unspeakable night. The family had been moved into an apartment because the crime scene had been left how it is. The body was quickly buried. The father thought that the kids would be in psychological care for years because of the incident. The father is even more upset over what happened than the kids are, and he blames himself for not being there to save her. He had heard about the occult, and made it his duty to try to see if he can bring her back by any means necessary. Later that day, he went to the Library in Alpria Hills, the town in which they live. After searching for about two hours, he came across a book called: Tome of the Occult, a Necromancers' Fancy. It depicts the study of necromancy and its teachings, as well as supposedly how to do it. The husband knew that it was a dark study that he shouldn't tamper with, but he desperately wanted his wife back into his arms. He purchased the book and quickly went home.

When he got home he dove right into the book. Spending entire nights and most of the day devoted to reading the book while the kids were in bed and at school. The book describes bringing forth souls to inhabit the bodies of the deceased, which the husband didn't like the thought of. He knew he would have to pull through with this if he wanted to make any progress. So he sent his kids off to a nearby Aunt. He purchased a shovel and waited till nightfall. He then went to the local Cemetery to dig up the body of his recently dead wife, Cynthia Flinton. As he dug deeper and deeper, he became more and more anxious to see his wife, even after being dead for over a week. He finally got to the coffin after about 3 hours of digging. The husband then bashed open the coffin and removed the stiff body from its vise. The book requires that you bring the body to the site in which it died, as well as bringing all the required materials and scrolls. He drove to the house in which the incident had occurred, and laid the body down on the floor where she was shot. The blood that was once running red is now nothing but hardened crust on the floor and fridge.

The husband began to partake in the ritual, calling out the name of his dead wife so that she could inhabit her body. After a few hours of calling her name, he got a response. The soul of his wife had been inhabiting the house the whole time. The husband then beckoned her to return to her body, which then the body began to twitch. The body then began to stand up, and started to moan a grizzly howl into the night. The husband was delighted that he was now reunited with his wife, knowing that, even after death there is still life, if you look in the right places...

Thanks, ktbcca. I liked your story, to, happybunny.

I have a queston for you others, where did you find the scars that don't leave white patches around them? I took the scars I had on mine on her eye and cheek off since the big regular colored skin patches bugged me. You can see what I mean in my little "conversion" crops.

I'll work on my application later today or tommorrow. This looks like something I can't afford to miss. My zombie skin is currently broken and dodgy but I'll fix that. If I by any chance can't fix it (it's one of like 10,000 downloads so it isn't going to be easy to find) is there any way I could use a normal sim with one of my many gorey skintones and frank it into a zombie pose? I will try my hardest to find the dodgy skinton, delete it and get a new 'un.

I have been wondering about something like this as well - - - I thought we were supposed to have a regular Sim that got turned zombie in game and there's skin tones on entries that I can't figure out how they could've gotten those if they died and got resurrected in game. The only thing I had on mine before I changed was the blood and scars. That's why my face is hid in the two pics where I'm not a zombie.

The Zombie in the contest must be an actual Sim/Maxis Zombie - so that the poses, and the "droopy" facial expressions are still there. The skintones in the other entires, I assume are CC default Zombie skintones, which is allowed as stated in the initial post. :) Unfortunately beki franking a normal Sim (even if it does have a gorey skintone) wouldn't be allowed.

Great entries everyone - I sincerely hope we get enough people to progress to Round I!

I think I fixed the skintone. My app will be up within the next hour :D

Also I can understand why you disallow using a normal sim. I wouldn't be able to get the pose or facial expression spot on anyway. My sim will probably outdo the others with gore. I do love using all my bloody/gorey makeup.

Zombie name Clarabell James
Age I'm over a hundred years old, born in the Victorian era but I forget the exact year. I was merely 20 when I was murdered.
Place of Residence In life she resided in the city of London. Now she rarely leaves the small abandoned house she found herself in after her death.
It's in the middle of a dense woodland.
Story of my life I worked the streets at night in the more seedy part of London. A prize pony for filthy men to ride upon if you understand my meaning. I had no family as they had died of cholera but I did have a man who wanted to make me a happy bride. He bought me a wedding dress ready for our union. I loved him and looked forward to making a family with him, vowing to give up my job and secret life at night.
Story of my death Anyone with half a braincell will remember Jack the ripper. Notorious murderer of girls like me, I was a secret kill. No-one ever found my body as I was dumped in his old family home in a woodland a few miles from the city. What he did to me was gruesome and I forced the memories from my dead brain, but I remember him and then I remember waking up in the abandoned house that I realised from looking at a smashed portrait was his. I searched for a while and found an old wedding dress in a wardrobe. It reminded me of my own wedding and I decided to keep it to keep the fantasy of being married. I know nothing of what happened to my love, he no doubt suspected I had run off with some rich factory owner.

(I forget if they had cholera in the victorian era. My history is completely crappy.. but y'know suspend your disbelief and think of it like a historically inaccurate movie where you just have to ignore the idiocy :]
EDIT: oh and try to ignore the electric lamp in the corner of the freeshot. I'm a rather tired thirteen year old who doesn't claim to be an artist or perfectionist xD)

Good job, beki.

And, yes, they had cholera as well as influenza. I think those were the two top killers -- other than Jack the Ripper -- of the time.

Application

Zombie name: Evangeline Depresse

Age: 17~19

Place of Residence: Depresse House

Short Biography:

I was born in the spring...I remember that, because I died on my birthday, and the smell of Easter Lilies lingered as my other senses fled. I had a mother, a father, and at least two siblings, and I think I must have loved them very much. I wept when I saw their graves, at least, and I imagine that must mean something.

I cannot tell you exactly how old I am...my best guess is somewhere between seventeen and nineteen. No memories accompany those numbers; I've simply assumed them from the contents of my room and the appearance of what's left of my body.

I do remember my name, however, because I always hated it. I was named for some long dead relative on my father's side, back when the family fortune fit such a pretentious bit of snobbery as "Evangeline." I was not born into such wealth, and the house was already falling into disrepair when my life ended.

http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b354/shorea682/humanshots.jpg

How did you become a Zombie?

My memories are all very vague, but I know that it was my birthday, and that something special was to happen that day. I hardly slept the night before from the sheer excitement of it, and began to ready myself as soon as the first hint of sunlight peeked over the horizon.

As the morning wore on, I found the late night catching up to me, and I returned to my bed. I remember worrying that I would wrinkle my dress. I laid it out carefully about me, and determined to rest my eyes for just a few moments.

When I awoke, the late afternoon light was filtering dimly through the curtains. My mind was fogged from sleep, but I knew that something wasn't right...whatever I was waiting for was supposed to take place mid-morning, and I couldn't imagine my family letting me sleep through it.

A soft rap on the door cut through the air, and I jumped. I had not realized it until then, but the whole house was oddly silent. The knock came again, more insistently this time, and I hurried to answer it. That's the last thing I truly remember...after that, there was nothing but darkness, and pain, and the smell of Easter Lilies.

http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b354/shorea682/applicationheadshot.jpg

I woke slowly, as if from a long, deep sleep. The last few moments of my life drifted back to me like a hazy dream, but they were soon forgotten as a terrible stench filled my nose. I gagged - the smell was so strong that I could taste it - and looked around wildly for the source. My eyes were blurred from sleep and unaccustomed to the darkness, but whatever the smell was seemed close at hand. I cannot begin to describe it properly...a metallic tang, mingled with the rot of meat gone bad and decaying flowers. I fell to the floor, heaving, but nothing came up.

When at last my nose began to grow accustomed to the scent and my stomach calmed, I wiped my mouth with the back of my hand. I was certain I had not been sick, but my hand came away sticky and wet, and the putrid smell hit me afresh. I fumbled through the darkness to my dresser, finding inside the box of matches and candle that I kept for when the lights went out. Once I had the thing lit and set in its holder, I made my way to the mirror and stared in horror at the image reflected back at me.

Since then, I've spent my days wandering the estate, looking for clues as to what happened to me. My room had not been touched, though a thick layer of dust and grime covered every surface. Other parts of the house appeared much the same, but some of the rooms had clearly been used more recently.

Whatever has transpired, it is long over now. The grounds lay abandoned and uncared for, forgotten by the outside world. The landscape is so overgrown that I hardly recognize it, and it took me days to find the graves of my family. The dates of death are all scattered throughout the first week of May. There is no mention of me anywhere.

http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b354/shorea682/applicationbodyshot.jpg

Perhaps I should be grateful that I don't remember the details of my passing. From the state of my clothes and my body, I would probably rather not know. Still, the unanswered questions nag at me, denying me my rest. I cannot help but feel that I will never be at peace until I understand who or what did this to me, and why.

Round I
Wild and Weird/Scary and Sexy

Alright, Zombies the world over, it's your turn to shiiiiiine!

Yes...yes...you can also carry on lurching, drooling and drooping over too. Just make sure you at least make an attempt at concentrating, so that YOU can be the one to maximise your potential and become a leader of the Round!

Okay then! What is it exactly that you have to do?

For the first Round you have to choose between the style you're going to go for - Wild and Weird or Scary and Sexy?

Where you go for the ol' WW or SS, you will also need to choose clothes/hair/make-up/blood/gore/set pieces that will match up to your chosen theme.

I would like two pictures of the actual "themed" you and an In-Progress shot. For an all around three photographs.

The In-Progress Shot
This could be taken in the studio as you're trying to prepare for the first shoot or in between the two "themed" shoots. For this shot you must portray how exactly your Zomodel is feeling at the time...and how the people around him/her are reacting/acting.

WW or SS
A little more on the main photos. Whether you go for Wild and Weird or Scary and Sexy, the photographs must reflect both of these aspects...it should be a challenge! The shot can be as small or big as you choose - for wild it could be in a forest, for example, with some weirdness factor thrown in for your Zomodel. For Scary you could be in a graveyard themed runway.

All date deadlines can be located in the main page. The Round will end at 10PM on that date.

BodySHOT

bio and my becoming

I used to work as an EMT that pulled night shifts as I attended med school during the day. I was studying to become a pediatrician, so I could get my dad out of the home I had to put him in, after it was getting too hard for me to go to school, work, and deal with his psychiatric problems. I had two weeks left of school when one evening...

My partner and I were returning back to the city in our ambulance, after we picked up a victim of a hit and run accident. I stayed in the back, as I worked to keep her stable, while Carl, my partner, manned the steering wheel upfront. He was surprised when he found out the city was barricaded, and that we weren't allowed in, even though we had a critically injured patient in the our van, that required medical attention immediately. The cop at the barricade told us to do what we could, until the quarintine was over. Carl asked him what the quarantine was for, and the young officer had no clue. He just said we'd be safer out here, than in the city.

Carl and I did our best to keep our patient stabalized, as we waited for the barricade to be lifted. Though suddenl and out of nowhere, the victim went into cardiac arrest. The second she did, I toiled to bring her back to life, and gladly I was able to get a heartbeat out of her again. When I had her stabalized again, I took a moment to catch my breath, and that's when it happened. The woman bit me in the arm.

Since that night the city hasn't been the same, the night the dead walked, and neither have I. I lost my job at the hospital, that was forced to turn into a refuge for survivors, after I tried to attacked a collegue that was trying to treat my bite wound. I was changing, however I was still me...but I was different. I couldn't bring myself to see my family, or my friends, or Carl again, if for their safety. I hid away, after I abandoned my life and my career. I used to save lives, but now I mend the wounds of the undead. I have to look out for my kind, since nobody else will, however much it pains me to see where my life has ended up...now.

Round One: Charlene Blooms

Pre-Photoshoot Thoughts:
http://i44.tinypic.com/qxrk90.jpg
When I was told that I was to reenact my resurrection to this world as a zombie, mixed feeling surged into me. On one hand, I am particularly interested--and partially psyched to do the scene. I had showed up in the very outfit I died in--and the very outfit I allowed my ghastly boyfirend to lavish my body with. We shot the photos in the very place that fateful day happened--the old, abandoned house in the forest--the same house I now call my home. Everything was accurate to the actual happening--because I requested it to be. Everyone was just willing to comply--just as long as the shots were as scary as they could be.

Yet--a part of me wanted to forget that day. A small part of me remembered the way I surged back to consciousness--and how it hurt. I wanted to forget, pure and simple. It was one of the darkest times of my life. The process of resurrection is a painful process--make that double if you were brought back to life as a zombie. The feelings of pain, fear, and anger mixed into you in such a potent way it was enough to kill you--granted that you survive the process.

How did I know? Well dear--I've been there.

Not a day goes by when I shed a tear due to that experience. The second my soul had been jolted back to life, it was like diving into a pool--then being electrocuted with a thousand volts of electricity. It will bring you back to life, granted, but by then, your brain had been roasted to a point where you can't think straight anymore; like your brain had been roasted on an open grill. Add to that the feeling of your skin being plastered back to you. It wasn't like the-skin-is-pasted-to-body sort of deal. No, it was like the-skin-is-stapled-back-to-the-body-with-rusty-staples sort of thing. Let me sum it up to you in two words: IT HURTS.

Everything else after that was a blur. But for this round, I'm willing to tell the story of what exactly happened that night. Memories might fade away, as some say, but a few will stay in your mind to rot with you in your grave--my words.

Photoshoot (Sexy and Scary):
http://i39.tinypic.com/4l4nrp.jpg
http://i44.tinypic.com/2ebeqm8.jpg
It--was like a small point of light, growing gradually into a huge circle. Soon enough, it would engulf my whole sight of vision, bright white light all around me. Then things started going into focus--I could see bloodstains below me. I was coughing, choking on the air that I so desperately needed before. I heard footsteps outside--someone had been here. Soon, the light grew fainter and fainter, until the whole world was plunged back into total darkness.

I looked around and saw myself in a strange room, all sorts of stuff plopped around the room. I looked harder and saw a spellbook--a moderately old one. I skimmed through the pages and saw a page with blood stains on it. And it had the title--Resurrecting The Dead.

It can't be. It just can't be.

I crawled my way outside the house, bumping into different objects until I had felt the cool breeze of the outside. I held my head up and saw the moon shining on me. I looked at myself and saw not the whitish skin I so proudly wore before, but rotting skin that smelled of rotten blue cheese.

I broke down and lost consciousness again. I knew no more...

-------------------------------------------------------

(Well that was my Round 1 entry. Hope I did it right--if I need to change anything, please don't hesitate to tell me. I might've misinterpreted the stipulations of Round 1, so please do tell me if I did everything right.)

I think I know what Deatherella is asking, as I was wondering the same thing.

Basically, here's how I've currently got things laid out in my mind. Could you please tell me if this is okay?

I start with my "in-between" shot, which sets the scene and moves forward the story for my sexy/scary shoot. Then I move to my first shot, and describe it. Once that's done, I use a different set and costume for my second shot, which is also "sexy/scary" and takes place during the same photo shoot. Is this okay, or does the second shot need to be changed so that it uses the same costume and/or set as the first shot?

How did you become a zombie:
It was Prom night, the stars were just right, a full moon was out. I smiled as i saw the limo looking car pull up. I was in a black elegant dress, that was when Blake gave me the tiarra that i shall never take off. We were driving to Prom, we were late, so we sped through a red light and boom! a car had hit us on the side I was on. He must have called the ambulance and that was when they found out i was dead. He didn't go to prom, instead he was at the hospital waiting and hoping. His hopes were not fulfilled, instead they were crushed. He went days and nights sleepless, he was looking at ancient occult spells to bring me back to him. He gathered his friends and tried the spell at my grave. They got scared and ran off to their houses. The next night he came back seeing if it had worked. He looked to see the grave was dug up, he once again got scared and ran home. The occult spell didn't work all the way. That same night i came to his window were he was, i tapped on it until he looked at me. He screamed at the sight of me, and locked up his house and called his friends. I ran off crying with a broken heart knowing he rejected me for what i was now. I found my crown and told myself I'd never ever take it off, so i can always remember him in my heart. I found myself a abandoned house on Death Row and decided I'd live their for the rest of my life that would never end.

In Progress Sexy and Scary
http://i43.tinypic.com/2mo60cx.jpg
I was limping out of my grave hoping to see my boyfriend for the last time, but then i remembered it was hopeless. I felt depressed, mortified by the reactions of the photo shooting people. They acted as if i were a... freak. I told them i wasn't a true freak, but did they stop? No, they didn't they were scared of me, i bet they new my secret of being, you know, undead. I planned on telling no one, not after my prom date Blake's reaction. He topped the cake of all the reactions I have gotten in all my years as i zombie, and his was the the most painful, i remembered that reaction in this photo and went berzerk. That may explain their reactions. But it still hurt, like knifes diving slowly through my heart.

Photo Shoot (SS)
http://i44.tinypic.com/xlgun5.jpg
I took this photo in the grave yard my grave was in, it is the only place I can try to be sexy, but not ever pretty. I pretended i was beautiful young girl, like i was when i was alive and human. But pretending will never cover my scars and my ugliness. I felt humiliated, trying to be sexy hurts a lot if your not beautiful. I knew i was ugly but i still acted if i was the same girl before. I'm still wearing that crown that he gave, i wouldn't do the shoot with out it! When i told them that they rushed to get it before they thought i would eat them, they freaked when i told them i felt ugly and was unhappy. They told me they would edit the picture but the obviously didn't!

Photo 2 (SS)
http://i44.tinypic.com/290u0y1.jpg
Once again, another hideous picture of me trying to be sexy, but turned out sexy but scary, just like the last. But in this picture i felt more into it because they told me they would edit it and give it to Blake! They didn't though, I thought they would. By the time I found out, i yelled at them, and they told me to get a new photo shooting person as they ran away in fear. I bet this will happen again until this is over, and i can't wait, i am just humiliating myself in front of all these people. I hate being ugly, i sure hope the next photographer will make me pretty again, or at least for that moment. I want that Cinderella ending! I wish, I wish that would happen for me.

A crypt can be a lonely place to drag your leg and flop your neck -- there's nobody to talk to but dead people. Not that they aren't good conversationalists and all, but their skulls are empty. I know, I looked. I was hungry for mashed potatoes so I figured it was time to venture forth into the new world and expand my horizons, or at least, find some fresh meat.

I hobbled the highway for what seemed like forever. I kept sticking my thumb out but all of the three cars I saw just sped on past me, except one that tried to hit me. I was so hungry and there was nothing to eat. Not even small animals. Oooooh. So, hobble on I did, singing to myself some song stuck in my head . . . . if I could just remember how it goes . . . I I I got rain booze in my head . . . L L L ? has done some ding to me . . . Hmmmm, my cousin will tell me. He wrote it.

When the big yellow circle was starting to drop below the trees, a van pulled over. It was people. I told them I needed a "ride" and they told me they needed a new model for a new story mega mega -- forgot big word already. They offered me tons of money like I needed it and said they'd take care of me; all I had to do was make pick-tours for them. Since I was starving for attention, I said, "Sure," and sat right down by a man that smelled soooooo good. He leaned away and then asked me I wanted some chips. Chips? I don't think so.

The first job I did was for new Grim Fairy Tales. It was fun. We went out into the woods to do it. The bears and I got along famously because we have a lot in common. We all come out at night hungry. Oh, look. Porridge has fallen right into our laps. I mean into the big bowl, I mean hole in the ground.

Between shoots I like to have a nice bath. Dirt, yuck. I like to sing in the shower, too . . . (hummming) mm-mm-mmmm-mmm . . .

Where is everybody? I want to ask them how I do.

Oh! There they be. Sing with me boys, bears . . .your heart beats for me . . . as I hold it in my hand . . .

I think I'm doing good so far. Everyone is nice to me and they never take their eyes off me. They must really like me.

Welcome to The Concrete Jungle

My next shoot was for the cover of a story from a video game where some evil company let loose a virus that made people turn into zombies and soon there was only a few people running and hiding from all the zombies and animals and . . . and . . . why does that sound familiar?

While I was on the maryground, they threw tons of money around it, saying it was for me, thanks for doing such a good job, and then they ran away. Hmmmmmph. Now, I'm starving for attention and affection and . . .

Yep, that was good porridge.

Lighting is completely up to you. It helps having light in the picture, because when they're too dark it's more difficult to see specifics. But yes...it's up to you.

Okay, I'll tell you right now that I wasn't too happy about having to use my place as set pieces for the shoot...but then the fact that I had to allow delicious strangers into my house and not be allowed to eat them? Yeah, that's where I draw the line in the sand buddy. Sorry.

However, I realized I was going to have to let my guard down and get along with these people, whether I liked it or not. I need this career change, since nursing injured zombies really doesn't pay too well...or at all. So I opened up my doors and to tell the truth...I was expecting the worst. I've watched enough ANTM to know how these people are, and they definately weren't my kinda people.

Hours passed by and so did the daylight, and strangely enough...they weren't too bad of people. The photographer was really cool, and knew exactly how she wanted everything to look...dark and bloody. Wooo! Score for having something in common! Then there was the totally hot hair and make-up artist. He had a hilarious sense of humor and a story for every tat he had on his body, and he had a lot, and he had a great body to boot. Rawr.

So, all and all I had a great time, and I realized I could get pretty used to this modeling thing. I'm just keeping my fingers crossed as I hope the pictures turned out as great as the day did.

I used to attend church every Sunday, well at least until I changed. The last time I tried to attend, that church cleared out faster than a trailer park caught in a tornado.

Since that disappointing attempt to relinquish any human part of me remaining, I've been looking into other religions that better depicts the undead. So every Sunday morning is better spent now on reading up on devil worshiping, while I'm having a cup of coffee in my underwear. Heh, you should stop by one Sunday and join me! I make great crow blood fritters.

Round I - Wild and Weird

Uncle Albert didn't have much use for me after he tortured me to death and brought me back who knows how many times, I guess he just got bored with that, so earlier this week he explained to me that he finally discovered how I could be useful to him. I will not go into what sort of disgusting and vile things were going through my head but I can say, modeling was NOT one of them. I didn't protest, how could I? Being a prisoner does not give you many options, my only hope is I can work out some way to escape. If only I could go faster than my limpy legs can take me. My uncle bribed one of his poker buddies to be the photographer, I suppose you'd have to bribe anyone to come anywhere near me. The only good thing I got out of this whole situation was a brand new dress. It's quite weird for a sixteen year old girl in the year 2009 to wear, but then again my whole existence is pretty weird isn't it?

http://i295.photobucket.com/albums/mm155/SophieraEQ2/zombiecontest/round16.jpg

I had a lot of trouble at first. It was TERRIBLE out there in the hot sun, my skin just melting off, literally. Uncle Albert threatened me several times until I finally decided just to buckle down and get the whole thing over with.

http://i295.photobucket.com/albums/mm155/SophieraEQ2/zombiecontest/round17.jpg

http://i295.photobucket.com/albums/mm155/SophieraEQ2/zombiecontest/round14.jpg

In the end I think I did okay, though it did take several hours to get these two shots. I hope my uncle gets good money for these, I'm sure he can sell them to some weirdo magazine or underground organization, who knows? All I know is I was able to scope out the area and just might have found a way to escape, but only if he takes me outside again and there is a car nearby I can steal...oh I'm never going to get out of this hell am I?

After the makeup artist put all of the makeup on me I felt beautiful for the first time in a very long time. I stood up and checked myself out. The two makeup artists standing in the corner smiled at each other and looked like they were happy to see me happy.

They put me in a cemetery and had me sit on a bench next to a pumpkin scarecrow. I felt so gorgeous in this really sexy outfit. They felt that it would look scary and sexy at the same time.

I didn't really like sitting on a grave next to a tombstone. But in the end I felt the pictures looked great and I looked great in them. Being a model is probably the best thing that has happened to me in this past life besides coming back in the first place.

quick heads up:

I'm well on my way to having my entry finished, and, with any luck, will have it up by 3 my time (two more hours). BUT...

We're currently under a Tornado Warning (means that a tornado was either spotted in the area, or conditions are such that a Tornado could spawn without warning). If something happens and we lose power, or if we need to take shelter, I will not be able to post until things are safe again. I'm really, really, sorry!

And, so you can see I'm not making this up, here's a live stream...I'm near the top of the screen:

Am I still within the deadline? I wasn't sure if I was 45 min. 'till or 15 min past. I'm really, really sorry if I'm late, and I appreciate your patience with me.

Man, that was scarier than any zombie photo shoot...especially when they announced that there had been a tornado spotted on my mom's road *shivers*

I managed to catch her on her cell...her husband was on his way to work (driving through the storm!!) and she and my baby brothers were taking shelter in the linen closet. They'd lost power, so I stayed on the phone with her until the weatherman gave us the "all-clear". Now it's nothing but blue skies and sunshine for us (and some minor tree damage), but the reports are already coming in of severe damage and serious injuries (not sure if there have been any fatalities) just to the north-east of us.

Sorry...I tend to ramble when I'm shaken up. Anyhoo, here's my lovely zombie, ready for round 1!

Round 1 - Sexy/Scary

I don't know how long I've spent wandering my family's estate; my days tend to run together now. My life has been one of solitude and silence since I awoke, but that all changed yesterday.

"What do you MEAN, she's not coming? We've had this shoot scheduled for months! She can't back out on us now! wha...I don't CARE if her mother just died. She made a commitment, and I...a replacement? You sure as hell better be sending me a replacement! And don't expect me to be paying full price, either. See if I ever work with your agency again!"

The peaceful quiet of my eternal unrest was shattered as the screech of tires and slamming of car doors brought a rude, gruff voice into my sanctuary. Unsure of what was going on, I hid behind a column on the front porch as a host of well-dressed humans swarmed out of a car and a van. Most of them hurried around like worker bees, unloading large crates, oddly shaped packages, and what looked to be camera equipment. I was trying to figure out a way to make them all leave when a middle aged man dressed all in black spotted me.

"So YOU'RE what they send me to work with instead of Katrina? ha!"

I opened my mouth to protest, but quickly closed it again; the breath I had taken filled my nose with the most heavenly scent I'd ever smelled, and it was coming from the people in front of me. I wanted nothing more than to rip, tear, and devour. For a moment I almost lost all control, but my last shreds of humanity held me in place.

hm...I see you've been informed about the topic of our shoot. You DO bear a passing resemblance to Evangeline Depresse. I may be able to do something with you after all...but that dress has GOT to go. No Depresse would ever have worn that!

While I tried to puzzle out the meaning of his words, the man turned back to the crowd of workers, clapping his hands obnoxiously and calling for order.

Alright people, look alive! The agency has failed us, but now that we're here, the show must go on, as they say! For those of you who don't know, you're standing at the front entrance to Depresse House, so named for the family who lived here.

The family was massacred some 50 years ago right here on these grounds...they're bodies were mutilated beyond recognition, but their killer was never found. Most interesting of all was the disappearance of Evangeline Depresse, the teenage daughter of Miles Depresse and heiress to the family fortune.

It's unclear what happened to Evangeline, but their are all kinds of grizzly theories floating around, most of them involving the occult. As you can imagine, the story has captured the imagination of many, including the...esteemed writers and editors of Necro-Play Magazine...which, of course, is why we're here.

Now, I know this may seem a...distasteful subject, shall we say, to many of you. My advice is to try to look at it as an artistic look into the darkest corners of the human psyche. We will be recreating one interpretation of the events which may have occurred here, in photographic form. Now, let's get to work!"

I stood there, shell shocked, as the director of the shoot so casually described the wholesale slaughter of my family. As he talked, strange, blurry images began to form in the back of my mind. The urge to kill was no longer overpowering - not when faced with my need to understand what had happened to me. I determined, then, to do whatever I had to in order to learn what this man knew.

http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b354/shorea682/round1shot2.jpg

And so it was that I found myself in a revealing, "gore" covered gown, loosely bound to a rusty old table and surrounded by set pieces that looked like they belonged in a horror movie. It occurred to me that this was why parts of the house looked like they had been used more recently. Men like Kevin, the one in charge of the shoot, had been using my home for photo shoots and movie sets. It made me angry, but I had a hard time hanging on to that feeling.

Instead, I was overwhelmed by a terrible sense of deja vu. The place was wrong, and so was the male model playing my killer, but there was something about being strapped to that table, surrounded by the beep and hiss of medical equipment, that sent a thrill of terror straight through me. Kevin didn't have to tell me twice to act "frightened and in pain." A door had opened into a hidden corner of my mind, and suddenly I was.

According to some, the killer was a spurned suitor of Evangeline's. He vowed to the family that if he could not have Evangeline alive, then no one could, and that she would be his in death.

I shivered as Kevin spoke, dredging up memories my subconscious had buried. Yes...yes, I had rejected Dimitri, and he had vowed revenge. My father had written him off as a harmless lunatic, but he hadn't been so harmless after all, had he?

He held the family hostage in their own home, torturing and killing them one by one. But Evangeline suffered most - he tested the limits of his control with her - pushing her to the edge of death, only to bring her back and begin again.

Unable to take any more of the pain my new memories were invoking, my mind slammed the door which separated them from my conscious thought process.I lay there, still as the grave, grateful only that I had faced the worse and survived. Or so I thought...

http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b354/shorea682/round1shot1.jpg

The next half hour proved to be one of the most difficult of my entire life. The crew moved to my parent's bedroom, which had already been defiled by some b-movie producer in search of a "gothic" setting. But worst of all was the chain suspended from the ceiling near the bed. I stood there, fighting memories of the living nightmare this scene represented, while kevin filled the rest of the crew in on the kinds of activities "the killer" filled his nights with. That Dimitri had, to the best of my knowledge, never stepped foot into this room didn't matter. The cold bite of steel against my wrists was enough.

Just then, the door opened and a hush fell over the room. A young woman with red hair braided much like mine stepped in, dressed like the model she was. I might have been able to salvage the situation, but one of the makeup girls took that opportunity to touch up my "make-up" when her fingers made contact with the burned and rotten flesh on my left cheek she screamed and pulled away, falling into the arms of the male model in front of me. They backed away, the woman sobbing, as everyone else froze in place.

"Call the police," Kevin muttered to the assistant next to him. She never got the chance...I reached her first.

http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b354/shorea682/round1shot3.jpg

When all lay still and quiet again, I padded into the bathroom and sat down under the spray, still in costume. At first I just watched as the fresh layer of gore swirled beneath my feet. Soon, however, my mind turned to the things I had remembered, and to my plans of revenge. I had taken a few minutes to go through the crew's belongings, in hopes of seeing how likely they were to be missed. While things looked bleak on that front, I had discovered a few bits of info which were much more promising. For one, the model I had just killed looked enough like me that I wouldn't have to worry about suspicion being raised by the photos. Second, Kevin's bag had a wealth of contacts for any aspiring model, and I thought I had picked up enough from my first shoot to be able to fake it in that world.

Most promising of all, however, had been the letter head on kevin's assignment. It was from Necro-Play, the sick, twisted magazine he was working for, and it came straight from the top - Demetri Donaldson. The spelling was different, as was the last name, but wasn't it possible that it was the same man? His interests certainly ran in that direction, and the timing wasn't impossible.

I stood up, searching for a towel to dry off with and something to wear that wasn't covered in blood. For the first time in years, I had a future again...and it involved giving Dimitri a taste of his very own medicine.

Now that Round 1 is wrapping up I have a question: Is this a modelling contest or a writing contest? Seriously, I am not asking to sound stupid but it seems that a lot of effort has been put into writing long elaborate stories by some of the contestants. I re-read the rules several times and it does not tell us to write long stories to go along with our entries.
I'm wondering if I'll be getting judged on the hours I spent pouring over my downloads and on the net looking for "creeepy" objects, making creeepy sets, and then taking pics from every angle to get the just right one; or the hours I didn't spend making up a story to go along with the life of my Zombie model. I could write long dark sinister stories that will keep you from sleeping at night if that's what you're really looking for but I was under the impression we were making sets and posing the model in them.
Any feedback?

It's a beauty contest - as sardonic as that is, considering they are zombie models! That's why the contest was not put in Other, unlike most of my previous contests. It is a modelling contest. I fielded a question earlier, where someone asked if there was a limit ot how much they could write and I said there was no limit. That still stands, but I didn't say anywhere that scores would be based purely on text. ;)

I like to think that they wanted to write more, because it was helping them get to know their zombie better for the contest.

Everyone will be marked on the factors stated in the "Parameters" section of the initial post. This means on sets, lightening, how good the picture and Zomodel looks, creativity and atmosphere. The writing underneath will be a small portion of the atmosphere mark - for the absolute majority, it's all about the photograph.

You're still able to write as little or as much as you want to.

It's hard to explain how I felt leaving my small woodlands for the first time in around a hundred years, if someone with no stomach could really feel physically sick then that's how I felt. But I had a task to do, I was to meet with a modelling group. They specialized in horror shots to turn into posters, these would be sold to the 'goth' teenagers and would grace their walls until they're phase had passed and they moved onto something else. They had snapped up the chance to work with a real zombie and had asked me what I had in mind for the shoot. I decided I'd like to bring the memories of my rather undesirable job to the modern era, they accepted my decision and proceeded to design a set and find costumes for their other model's who would be acting as extra's in the photoshoot.

I left the woodlands in the dead of night trembling with fear, waiting on a road nearby was a car to pick me up. When I arrived at the set I was ushered into a dressing room where a kind woman helped me into my costume and gave me a little touchup, she attempted to make conversation but I had been away from others for so long I lacked conversational skills. I made my way onto the beautiful handpainted set, it was incredible almost exactly fitting how I had described my memories in the letter I had sent to them.
The models were gathered in a group chatting amongst themselves, I wanted to talk and laugh with them so badly but I didn't know what to do or say. I was scared they wouldn't want to know an ugly little dead girl.
[In Progress shot] (http://i271.photobucket.com/albums/jj133/Beki_cookie/INPRGREZ.png)

We'd chosen to show a normal night for me and we wouldn't be leaving out too many details, the model portraying my customer was kind but it was horrific to have a man touch my decaying skin, the last man to touch me was the reason I'm stuck in this form never reaching the afterlife the vicar had told me so much about. We had to attempt the shot several times because my nerves got the better of me
[Shot one] (http://i271.photobucket.com/albums/jj133/Beki_cookie/sexyandscar1.png)

The next shot was a follow on from the first, what came after the luring in of the customer, this time I was less nervous. The model gave me a few comforting words and we got on with the shot. Though this was less realistic, no customer was ever that gentle, no alleyway that clean and it would follow on to nothing, I would get to walk away and go back home with my pride intact. Not like the old days.
[Shot two] (http://i271.photobucket.com/albums/jj133/Beki_cookie/Saczansez.png)
The team congratulated me on a brilliant shoot and I felt, for the first time in my life, proud of myself. I was able to head home knowing that perhaps I was welcome among a few mortals, maybe even admired.

[Edit: I write walls of text because that's something I enjoy. Giving a backstory to the model makes the pictures easier to take and shows whoever is looking why the pictures were taken and what they mean. I really do enjoy doing it and being thirteen I'm still learning a lot about writing so I try and get all the experience I can xP]

Deatherella - just to echo what beki said - I know my entries read like novels, but I hope you (and the judges) will feel free to skip over them if that's not your thing. It's my hope that the pictures will stand on their own, as that's clearly what this little "beauty" *snicker* contest is about.

For me, knowing WHY my zombie would turn to modeling is crucial for understanding her, and thus understanding what sets/costumes/props she needs. I've shared that with all of you because I thought that there might be others out there who wanted to know, too. I've never been good at short descriptions. I'm a writer of the most long-winded, obnoxious sort. Seriously...I crave a delectable bit of description the way our models crave brains. It's just my "thing."

At this point, I admit to having fallen completely and totally in love with Evangeline and her story. If permitted, I'd like to continue to fill you all in on her tale for as long as I'm in the contest, and I'm not sure I'll be able to stop even when I get booted out, lol. I wrote lots of stories using Sims 1, but I've never (and I mean NEVER) done anything with sims 2 pictures until I joined this and the Real Estate challenge. You and others made it look incredibly addictive, and ya'll have hooked me now :D.

So please, bear with me when I ramble. I know I have a problem, but I figure a literary high is better than a narcotic one, yeah? I'm just a dork with a love of words - I'm not trying to turn the contest into something it's not, or in any way diminish the absolute awesomeness of your entries...like I said, you're one of the reasons I decided to jump in the ring :D.

oh, and becki - you're zombie is just yummy!! I LOOVE your round one, and while I know the writing isn't what we're being judged on, I just had to tell you what an awesome job you did. Not to say that someone your age can't write (I've been writing since preschool, lol), but I NEVER would have guessed that you were only 13. You have a much better grasp of grammar and flow than most people your age. Heck, you've got a much better grasp of grammar and flow than most people MY age. Keep up the great work!!!!!!

Okay, people, I wasn't knocking your entries. I read all your stories and love them, too.
My main concern was that I spent most of my time coming up with the pictures and if the writing counted to a high degree, I was feeling a little screwed for not going as in-depth as everyone else. I was having my fun coming up with strange stuff for my pics instead of concentrating on the story behind them.
Take my word for it, I've been known to write a book or two.

The story even though it was long gave the emotion to the pictures, without it the pictures wouldn't have been as good and helped telling the story. If people feel that they don't need to right long stories then that is good, but for me the story is a big part in the way the pictures are being portrayed.

So.. Suicide SimGirls.. Contacted Me. They're One Of The Major Websites Across SimCity. They're Main Focus Were Hot Female Sims.. With Tattoos.. And Piercings... But Zombies?? Thats A Surprise.

They Said They Were Doing A Horror Edition.. For Halloween. I Demanded That NO Males Be On The Scene. They Said That Was Just Fine.

So I Guess This Could Be Fun..

Well We Decided To Do The Shoot In A Run Down Hotel. When I Met The Model I Would Be Working With. I Was In SHOCK. I Didn't Expect Other Zombies To Exist..

The First Shoot Was On The Bed. We Were Supposed To "Play Around." Wasn't A Problem.. The ZombieChick Was A Hottie..

http://i419.photobucket.com/albums/pp279/BeautifulKeyanna18/snapshot_56dfa3dd_b6ecd30c.jpg

After That.. We Took A Break. Everyone Stared At Me.. At First I Thought It Was Because I Was A Walking Dead Corpse Of Course.. But Then I Heard Some Of The Human Female Models Say "Good Thing She's A Zombie.. Or She'd Actually Be Competition."

I Was Rubbing A Little Of My Personal Bloody Mixed Lipgloss On.. When The Prop Guy Walked Up To Me.. I Could Smell His Odor Before I Saw Him.. Smelled Like Food.. I Braced Myself..

I Have To Control Myself.......

He Told Me I Was One Of The Hottest ZombieChicks He'd Ever Seen.. And That He Would Like To Get To Know Me.. Off The Clock..

Hmmph.. Figures.

I Got The Urge To Dig My Nails Into His Skull.. && Rip It Apart.. Thankfully.. I've Been Working On Controlling These Certain "Urges" .. So I Slowly Rubbed My Hand Down His Delicious Cheek && Told Him "Sure Handsome."

http://i419.photobucket.com/albums/pp279/BeautifulKeyanna18/snapshot_56dfa3dd_36ecd8fc.jpg

So It Was Time For Our Second Shoot.. We Did This Standing Up..

http://i419.photobucket.com/albums/pp279/BeautifulKeyanna18/snapshot_56dfa3dd_36ecd6a9.jpg

Overall It Was A Fun Experience.. I Have To Make Sure.. I Keep Intouch With That Model.. She Could Be Fun To Have Around. Modeling Is Actually Hard Work.. Makes Me Tired.. && Kinda..... Hungry....

Hmm.. Were Did That Prop Guy Go Off To....

Round II
I'm Ready For My Close Up

This Round is all about emotion, and it's all in the face. We want to see fierce, we want to see dispair and we want to see your Zomodels attempts at keeping from eating whilst in a crowd of would-be fans.

Shot I: A headshot, shoulders up - of your Zomodel looking fierce! If you want to use bloodied face masks, or even try make-up, then you can.

Shot II: Another headshot, shoulders up - transitioning from normal human to a Zombie wasn't exactly a happy thing...so I want to see despair as your Zomodel thinks back on that moment. No make-up allowed.

Shot III: Waist up shot, with regular people in the background. I want to see your model trying to get by in a crowd, feigning normalcy, whilst trying not to attack the fresh fleshy people around. Normal, everyday clothes are a must.

Olliepop
12th Apr 2009, 6:01 PM
quick questions for round 2 - in every shot of Evangeline as a Zombie, she's got a series of burns and abrasions on her face that are achieved using makeup. When you said that we weren't to use makeup in shot 2, does that include these? Not a biggie if that's the case, I just wanted to be certain.

Also, I know this is probably a stupid question, but are these shots to be "on location" at a photo shoot, or are they a transition to the next shoot? And if it's a shoot, is it all one shoot, or can the shots be from different shoots? Like I said, I know that's probably a stupid question (or, well questions, really) but I just wanted to make sure I understood exactly where we could and couldn't go with the round.

TRIriana
12th Apr 2009, 6:46 PM
To your first question, Shorea, I meant simply eyeshadow, lipstick - normal make-up. Blood and burns and such are allowed, because they add to the overall "Zombie" look. :)

The two HS can be either on a plain background, on location or...anything! That part is entirely up to you. The waist up shot however, must be in a normal setting - so no "official" photo shoot setting.

I hope that makes sense.

TRIriana

I guess Uncle Albert made a good killing on those shots of me, because we're back at it again this week. Unfortunately, we didn't go back outside this time, otherwise I would have definitely made a break for it. Instead, we headed to my uncle's library.

At first they directed me to look fierce. This was definitely hard for me, especially with Uncle Albert screaming at me constantly, but I finally managed to get a look down. I just thought about strangling my uncle and it seemed to work into a good photo.

Shot I
http://i473.photobucket.com/albums/rr100/ktbcca/zombie/roundII5.jpg

Suddenly, they went a completely different direction with the photo shoot. They wanted to see pain and agony, they wanted true emotion. Oh I could do that. Thinking back to when I awoke on a surgical table in the basement, covered in blood and reeking...it was the worst moment of my life. I felt such horror at what he had made me and so much sorrow because I knew I would never get my happy life back.

Shot II
http://i473.photobucket.com/albums/rr100/ktbcca/zombie/roundII6.jpg

During the photo shoot, Uncle Albert's wife along with their two daughters, and her friend Darcie showed up unexpectedly. To say they were shocked would be the understatement of the decade. His wife was furious, his children were scared out of their minds, Darcie was utterly confused, and Uncle Albert was mortified, to say the least. I was feeling none of these emotions. No, I felt something completely different. Suddenly, with all that fresh blood and soft flesh in the room, I felt incredibly hungry. It took every ounce of my being to summon the power to deny myself. Oh believe me, I would be happy to see these people gone from my life, but I wouldn't be able to live with myself if I brutally murdered them!

Love the costumes and in-progress shot, but be careful of rogue models in the background in the first shot - they should be posed! They looked a little lost otherwise. ;) Second pose was good but perhaps could have tried a more interesting, risque angle?

Cassidy Cadell
'Nurse Cass'

RII

The Japanese have quite an affinity for the undead and darker natured things in life, which I think is great...since all I'm looking for is acceptance. So, with this said, I decided to take up the oppurtinity to shoot with Tomoko Tomoyama, a famous Visuel Kei photographer from Tokyo. Now, I've always been a huge fan of the traditional meets new aspect of Japanese fashion, so I was really excited to get a chance to be a part of it! Let's just hope it's worth the fifteen hour plane ride.

saki

Warm, smooth, and at times, sweet...like a feirce, yet loving woman.

http://i288.photobucket.com/albums/ll176/HEART_shapedballoon/CassidyR2Iclicky.jpg (http://pics.livejournal.com/hell_sings/pic/0002xw2g)

Wow, I look like a little bit of Memoirs of a Geisha and a little bit of Billy Holiday in this get-up, and to tell the truth...I kinda like it. Especially since all I recall was her screaming more expression, more expression while she was behind the camera, and it was kinda freaky, since I'm already aware that expression is my weak point with the judges. So I'm surprised I didn't turn out looking completely confused and scared in this shot. Heheh.

sushi

Wrapped in layers, and always surprising...like an emotional, yet passionate woman.

http://i288.photobucket.com/albums/ll176/HEART_shapedballoon/CassidyR2IIClicky.jpg (http://pics.livejournal.com/hell_sings/pic/0002ys4y)

This is the most emotion I've put into a shot, though I can't say it was easy to get to this point. I was really having a hard time not laughing, when I was trying my best to cry. Tomoyo was getting frustrated, even though her crew found it rather amusing to see a giggly zombie. At some point she began taking personal stabs at me and eventually...this is what came out of it.

Now I'm just wondering whether or not she was just trying to get me to cry, or if she actually meant the things she said...oh well, I guess it's all lost in translation now.

blending in

So the day ended, and rather quickly, and before I knew it I was packing up to head back to the states in the morning. I got my jammies on and crawled into bed, until I heard the sound of my phone vibrating on my nightstand. To my surprise it was Tomoyo calling me, in the middle of the night. She said that she and her sister were having a small get together, and asked if I was interested in stopping by for a few drinks.

So decided to go, I'm nocturnal anyway. I showed up and I was surprisingly greeted by a pink skinned, alien girl named Fukuru, Tomoyo's neice. To tell the truth it was kind of unexpected, those kinda thing your really never prepared for, and I was quite afraid of what else I'd see as soon as she let me in.

Tomoyo and her sister Keiko were in the kitchen serving up cocktails and sushi, and they could tell in my face that they had a little explaining to do, since it seemed that Keiko's other children showed up too. Wa, her twenty year old son, and Fukuru's twin sister...Fuu.

I wanted to run right back out. I don't do big groups, especially when I'm hungry.

However, I reconsidered when Keiko told me her daughter Fukuru was my biggest fan. Fukuru, finally speaking up again, told me that she looked up to me and that like me she wanted to become a model, but all her life she was discouraged by her unusual features. I told her that there's nothing to be ashamed of, and that she isn't alone.

http://i288.photobucket.com/albums/ll176/HEART_shapedballoon/CassidyR2IIIClicky.jpg (http://pics.livejournal.com/hell_sings/pic/0002zbkx)

Not too long after this the small get together mellowed out, we took pictures, I had a bit of sushi so I wouldn't be tempted to eat anyone, and Fukuru and I realized we actually had more in common than our unique attributes. It was really fun, and worth it, and for once...I'm glad of who I am.

When I think of what that robber did to me I immediately get angry. I want to kill him like he killed me. When the director told me to think of a "fierce" shot that is what came to mind. Overall I felt that that was my favorite picture.

See image 1

The next shot had to be sad. I thought of my children and husband seeing my lying dead on the floor. It kills me inside to think that they had to see that gruesome mess.

See image 2

The last shot had to be of me trying to fit in with the rest of society. I did the best that I could while still wanting to look like a zombie. I put on some human makeup and stood around people in the city all talking and acting like they were ok being near me.

Fiercitude:
http://i39.tinypic.com/1ruveb.jpg
If it's fierce they wanted, then--they got it. Anger is my way of being fierce. And when I'm fierce--I'd rather not say what happens next. People say I am always serious or fierce-looking--well, doesn't it show? Sometimes I'm glad that I'm a zombie--then people can take me more seriously.

Looking Back:
http://i42.tinypic.com/ibvrl1.jpg
...Then again, I'm not always grateful that I've become the living dead. There's this part of me that wishes to die again. To end the pain that started that fateful night. To let go of things that I can never seem to let go. Death is the ultimate answer to pain--my ultimate answer to everything. Sadness comes to me when I think about how I've led my life--how many times I've pierced myself with a syringe. How many times I've gone all the way. Then how I was buried underground--half alive, to be exact. Now you imagine how that feels like...

...Creepy, isn't it?

Sheep Amongst Wolves:
http://i43.tinypic.com/2j9qba.jpg
Well, how do I exactly mix amongst the living? Well, let me share to you one incident and you analyze how I did:

Lillie (the one with the blue sweater vest in the pic) was one of the first people to see me as a zombie. She didn't run--she was one of my best friends ever. The usual things--what happened to me, why did this happen to me, and what am I going to do with it. Long story short, she still accepted me as a human being--even though I'm not really that alive.

So one day, she invited me to a party with all her friends--and some of mine. When I came through that door, looking as proper and prim as could be, they couldn't believe it. Why would she invite a zombie to the party? Some of my former friends thought it was cool. Some, though--had the guts to make secret jokes about me behind my back. What about me? Well, I was sticking out like a sore thumb, apparently. I wasn't the life of the party--figuratively and literally. And them the urges to eat brains came in--it was a hard addiction to remove, like a drug.

Longer story short--I didn't fit in; I came alone to the party and I went home alone. So now how do you think I do amongst living, breathing humans?

----------------------------------------------------------------

(Thanks to the judges for giving me such a high score. And to everyone else--GREAT JOB! You all deserve such great praise for your work!)

singing_Noel - AMAZING ROUND TWO. The second shot just radiates sadness. And the first one--OMG THE HAIR.

Fierce:
http://i40.tinypic.com/e7o0fl.jpg
This shoot was difficult for me because the photographer wanted me to think about things that are best left forgotten. So he was making me mad, very mad. He said "That's what I wanna see!" So he took the shot.

Despair:
http://i44.tinypic.com/1p87lv.jpg
The photographer wanted a lot of emotion from me in this shot so he asked me to think about the night Blake no longer wanted me because of what I had become.

A memory brought to life:
http://i40.tinypic.com/fz3z4g.jpg
The photographer took me down town to a local coffee shop. I was a bit hesitant to be amongst people in day light. But he assured me everyone was prepared and that it would be fine. Then it happened the boy of my dreams walked through the doors and I couldn't believe it. He was not the boy i remembered he was an old man. I hadn't realized that time had stopped for me but not for him. I couldn't believe I had spent all this time and angst over him. I couldn't control my emotions and the photographer thought it was the best shot of all.

Well, there I sat wondering what next when one of those people came back and said there was plenty of work for me, a living dead girl, if I would quit trying to eat them. Sometimes people just expect too much. So I crossed my fingers behind my back and said I would be "nice" and work with them.

http://i265.photobucket.com/albums/ii217/deb666/Sims%202%20WZMA%20Contst/DD-R2-2.jpg

So, the next morning, we stopped to do some shooting outside an ugly old cement building. They kept telling me to look mean. Oh, it's so hard to look mean and mad when I'm a "nice" zombie girl.

http://i265.photobucket.com/albums/ii217/deb666/Sims%202%20WZMA%20Contst/DD-R2-1.jpg

Do this, do that, do this, do that . . . I got so sick of hearing them tell me to look like this, look like that. I sat down on the curb and thought about how life used to be. So sweet. No one telling me just how high to lift my eye brow. No one telling me don't eat me. No one calling me mean names. Just my kids calling me nice names. Where are my kids? I miss my kids. Oh, it makes me so sad, I could hang my head and cry.

http://i265.photobucket.com/albums/ii217/deb666/Sims%202%20WZMA%20Contst/DD-R2-3.jpg

I think they felt bad for making me feel bad because they said that since I worked so hard they would take me on a toot. My clothes were all raggy and I wanted to be like everybody else -- for once. I staggered over to Hot Topic and found something new to wear. Everybody liked my outfit and said I would fit right in on the tour bus. I think I look just like everybody else now, don't you? See me? Here I am taking the tour of forty drinks in forty winks. Silly living people -- drinking like fishies makes them smell so good to this girl who used to drink tequila like water. Oh, they smell so good.
If they only knew what I was thinking . . . not about drinking.

***Please excuse my cheesey tour bus. I couldn't find anything that would work for one to download so I just made one in build.***

Round II - Closeups

I sat in that shower for as long as I could, but time was a commodity that I was suddenly short on, and I knew it. Once I'd dried off with a dusty old towel, I padded back to the scene of my crime.

Of all the remains (for most of the people were so mangled that "remains" was the only proper term for them now) the REAL replacement model had faired the best. I'd gotten to her last, and she looked enough like me to be unnerving. I'd taken a couple of swipes and broken her neck, but that was it. I decided her dress would do; it was torn, but not bloodied.

I took a moment to admire myself in the mirror. In the warped glass' reflection I looked almost human; anyone seeing it would have mistaken me for the girl I'd killed.

That gave me the idea...I riffled through her belongings, and was pleased to see that my plan would probably work. Her wallet had two credit cards, an ID, and a handful of cash. There were no personal pictures, no notes - nothing that said anything about who she was as a person. Her cell phone was even more depressing; the only numbers she'd saved were the number for the modeling agency, "Wong's Wing House," and the American Idol hotline. I was beginning to think I'd done the girl a favor.

Pawing through the pockets and briefcases of my other victims proved more immediately fruitful. I came away with more than a thousand dollars in cash, contact numbers, names, and addresses for dozens of different agents, and a half-dozen back issues of Necro-Play. Throwing everything into my doppleganger's tote, I took a deep breath and screwed up every ounce of courage I had. This was it...the moment of truth. I was going to destroy all evidence of what had happened here, and walk out that door as Jessica Smithson, an aspiring young model with no social life and a desire to be a star in the dark, seedy world of necrophilia. I knew if I didn't act now, I never would...so I grabbed the oil can from the garden shed out back, doused everything, and struck the match.

http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b354/shorea682/round2shot1.jpg

Nothing could have prepared me for the pain I felt at watching my childhood home burn before my eyes. I wouldn't dwell on it - I couldn't; if I did, I'd break down and never leave. Instead, I thought about the people who had invaded my privacy. They were the reasons the house was burning...them, and Dimitri.

The hatred that overcame me as I thought of that man was nearly overwhelming. It filled me with a raw energy, and I used every bit of it to walk away. I had lost everything...everything but my desire for revenge. Dimitri would pay, and I pitied anyone who tried to stand in my way.

Unfortunately, the high didn't last long. The plan had seemed so simple when I left home; I would take over Jessica's life, and use the contacts I'd found to get a full-time job at Necro-Play. Then I'd bide my time, working my way to the top, until I finally got my hands on Dimitri. I wasn't sure what I would do after that, but I knew it would be very bloody, very painful, and very satisfying.

It all sounded good in my head, but I hadn't really thought out the details. For instance, how would I find Jessica's house? Sure, I knew the address (it was on her ID) but I didn't know my way around the city anymore. Everything had changed with the times...everything except me. That was another problem...how was I supposed to pretend to be a hot young model when I wasn't even sure the world still worked the same way anymore?

http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b354/shorea682/round2shot2copy.jpg

My fears, together with the trauma of the last twenty-four hours, were simply too much. The apathy which had shrouded me all these years finally cracked. I stopped where I was, sliding down the side of an old, torn up car, not caring who saw. I feared no predators - not anymore. Instead, I feared myself, and the uncertainty of my future. I mourned for the naive young thing I'd been, and the privileged life I'd lived. Evangeline Depresse had died nearly 50 years ago, and I was nothing but a shell of that young woman. I had nothing to love -nothing to live for, and at that moment I couldn't even hold on to the sense of revenge I'd clung to these past few hours.

I believe that the time comes in every life when we must decide whether we will accept what we have been given, or fight for something more. Fate had not been kind when it handed out my lot in life, but I knew, deep down, that I didn't have to accept it. I could survive, even thrive - and the strength I needed to do so could be found in my determination to make Dimitri pay. I had never been one to hold grudges, but I needed this one. I would be okay. No - I would be better than okay. I would be famous.

After a night of walking, followed by a harrowing cab ride from an old man who smelled worse than I did, I finally found my way to Jessica's apartment and let myself in. The place was small and sparsely furnished, but that suited me just fine. I didn't want mementos of someone else's life clouding my purpose or showering me with unnecessary guilt. Some little part of me was appalled at how easy it had been to kill...and about how strong this newfound hunger was, now that I had tasted human flesh. I pushed that to the back of my mind, and concentrated instead on the next item on my agenda.

According to Kevin's agenda, there was to be a party at some co-worker's house, and all of the agency's new models were to be invited. The evening was something of a test for the young women...the agency wanted to see which girls fit into Necro-Play's "ideal" category after-hours, and which were just putting on a show for the boss.

I spent a few hours looking through the old issues of the magazine, and was both sickened and encouraged by what I saw. The men who ran it were absolute pervs, but the women - their hair and clothes were wild, and they wore layer upon layer of crazy makeup. While I knew I could never pass as a normal human being, these girls were purposefully trying to look the way I did. With a little hair dye and the right get-up, I thought that I *might* just be able to pull this off, after all.

Jessica's credit cards and the local phone-book provided me with everything I needed to get ready for the big night. I managed to find a couple of specialty boutiques, and with a few subtly dropped names (ala Kevin's address book), I managed to avert any suspicion. I was a bundle of nerves as I arrived, but that all changed as soon as I stepped through the door.

I had decided to arrive "fashionably late" so that I could slip in unnoticed, but it didn't quite work that way. Instead, I found a dozen pairs of eyes trained on me as I walked through the door. To my surprise, the men's glances were nothing but appreciative, while the women seemed to be eying up competition. All around me I saw makeup similar to my facial scars, some of which looked real.

Within moments the conversations had started again, and I was no longer the center of attention. It didn't matter though - I was on top of the world. No one had run screaming from the room; no one had called the police. These people really thought I was one of them. Better yet, I heard more than one whispered conversation involving phrases like "stunning" and "perfect" and "who does that whore think she is, waltzing in here looking like that!" all with covert glances shot my way. As I surveyed the room around me, I couldn't help the wicked little smile that played across my face. I was going to be a big hit in Dimitri's little world...and oh, he would suffer for it!

No Problem. I Was Actually Hesitating On That Word.. Because It Didn't Sound Right.. When I Reread The Story. I'm Thinking Its Supposed To Be.. Just Spit.. Or... Spat? :hmm:

I Officially Feel Slow.. Lol. :slow:

No need to feel slow...the debate over "spit" vs. "spat" is one that gets argued all the time, especially between those who speak "proper" English and those who speak American English.

Technically, "spat" is the past tense form of "spit" and thus what you would want for your sentence. HOWEVER, one of the key rules of American English (or at least of writing in it) is that you may do whatever it takes to make the sentence flow correctly and convey the proper emotion, even if that means breaking a few rules (they're more like guidelines, anyway.) You don't want to do it too often, but if an "improper" usage of the word sounds better, you should usually use it. College English professors hate it, but Creative Writing and some Lit professors will tell you to do it.I once had a prof. who taught all three, and he would dock points from his English Comp. students any time they used the wrong grammer, but dock points from those of us in CW who didn't, if the "wrong" usage sounded better. Go figure.

Anyhoo...wow, sorry, I'm rambling, aren't I??? The point I should have gotten to from the beginning is that, while "spat" is the proper grammatical usage of the word, you can use either "spit" or "spat" there, depending on your preference. Sorry :D.

*edited to fix my own grammatical mistake, lol. See? It happens to everybody*

Guys. I'm so, so sorry. Schoolwork has forced me to drop out. Basically I'm on a fastrack English GCSE which means I start a year early. We get less lessons so our homework is piled onto us, with two essays to complete I don't have time for this. I'm so sorry guys D:

Good group shot, I love the expressions on their faces! I would have liked to see some dynamic lighting in your close-ups and more in the background - a painting, maybe? It was a good round though and you write the story well!

1306
Atmosphere: 9
Picture Creativity: 8
Creepiness: 7
Adherence to Rules: 5
Total = 29
This was a great round for you - the background of your first two pics were simple but the cracked wallpaper and effect really added atmosphere, and her facial expressions were perfect. Well done! :D

Deatherella
Atmosphere: 7
Picture Creativity: 7.5
Creepiness: 7
Adherence to Rules: 5
Total = 26.5
I loved the idea of the bus setting, it was really well done! I would have liked to see more creativity in the look of your first two pictures - especially with lighting and background. It would have made your "despair" picture look much darker and emotional.

Happyasabunny
Atmosphere: 7
Picture Creativity: 7
Creepiness: 6
Adherence to Rules: 4
Total = 24
I liked your group shot and the dark lighting you used. I thought your model's facial expressions weren't quite right though - the "fierce" expression came across as very sad and the "despair" was very angry. Keep an eye out for detail like this and how your pictures come across!

BeautifulLiar21
Atmosphere: 8
Picture Creativity: 7.5
Creepiness: 7
Adherence to Rules: 4
Total = 26.5
Your settings are very gothic and they create a perfect tone for your pictures. Be careful, though, about facial expressions. Your first picture didn't really seem fierce enough! Also in your third picture I think she should have been wearing more casual clothing, to really get across the struggle to fit in!

Shorea
Atmosphere: 8
Picture Creativity: 10
Creepiness: 8
Adherence to Rules: 5
Total = 31
I was really impressed with your Round II - I gave you the perfect ten for creativity because your backgrounds really struck me, as well as the monotone wash of the despair picture. You captured a really powerful moment for your character, I felt. Well done. :D

Singing_Noel
Atmosphere: 8
Picture Creativity: 8
Creepiness: 7
Adherence to Rules: 4.5
Total = 27.5
I love that you're getting in close to your model, it feels much more intimate and emotional. Your second picture was creative in the posing and very thought-provoking. Your first picture seemed more serene than fierce to me, so I couldn't give you a perfect 5 but your group shot stood out as colourful and a great contrast.

Rawr_Bunnii
Atmosphere: 7
Picture Creativity: 8
Creepiness: 7
Adherence to Rules: 5
Total = 27
Your group shot was perfect, she looks like she's really struggling there! The first two were also well done but I would have liked darker lighting to get across the creepiness of your model.

Round III
Undead Advertising

Everyone has come so very far, and all of you should be proud of yourselves! We're at the last hurdle of the contest and things are very close - it definitely won't be an easy win for anyone. As the title of Round III suggests, your Zomodels will be doing a little advertising this time around. Photoshopping is not required, however if you choose to use the program, then it's entirely up to yourselves.

Advertisement One
As unusual as it might be, the local Health group has decided that hiring Zombies to advertise their new wonder drug is an incredibly good idea. The drug itself can be absolutely anything - a medicine on the market today or something of your own creation.

Advertisement Two
Zombies are known as killers, bloody-thirsty abominations, things that should be sent back to their graves! ...So who thought it was a good idea to let a Zombie advertise Crufts? Note: If you do not have Pets installed, then the advertisement can be subbed for something similar - a cooking competition/swimming tournament for example.

Advertisement Three
As a result of W.Z.M.A there have been a slew of memorobilia for sale - dolls, teddies, Undead action figures...even a cartoon. Perhaps the most bizarre of all however, is perfume: Eau de Undead. This one is going to be a hard seller...so you have to make it look good!

Picture Requirements

One: One picture.
Two: Depending on what you're advertising (crufts/swimming/cooking/etc), dogs and/or people are required in the shot too.
Three: Your Zomodel should definitely be the focus of this one, and you may have someone else in the background showing their reaction to the "perfume". There must also be a snappy slogan to go with it.

This time around, some writing is needed, for an extra five points. I would like your Zomodels reactions to the contest, and to the advertisements they've had to do... Simple!

I'm super sad to say this, but it has to be said...I'm going to have to drop out. I'm moving in less than a couple weeks, and as much as I was hoping I'd be able to get this done before then, I really just can't. My mind is just too pre-occupied right now, and I'd rather not rush or half @ss it.

Whoot! I was sooo nervous about this round, but inspiration has struck :D. A few quick questions before I get started:

Can we "finish" our photos in order to give them the appearance of the final ad? It sounds that way, but I just wanted to double-check.

Also, when you say that we need to give our zombie's reaction to the contest, does that mean they need to be self-aware for that post? (ie, does Evangeline need to know that she's in a zombie modeling contest? Or is it okay to continue the way I have been, with her as the only zombie model she's aware of?)

Last but not least: questions about the drug company ad. I have something I think would be really funny, but I'm not sure that (a) those outside of the US would be aware of the drug (and thus get the play on the drug's catchphrase) and (b) because it's a real drug (vaccine, actually) I wouldn't want to be insensitive to anyone who may have had it. Hmm...maybe I should PM you on that one first.

These past few weeks have actually been the most exciting of my new life as a zombie. I thought I was doomed to be locked in that dreaded basement forever but instead I've gotten to actually experience things some normal people don't even get to. Of course, this all would be so much better if my despicable uncle wasn't forcing me into it, and breathing down my neck constantly, but I will take what I can get.

As for the advertisements I was asked to pose for, all I could say is, "What? Me?" I was dumbfounded when I heard the news. The first ad we worked on was for some weird new anti-depressant. The makers claim it is all natural, but strong enough to require a prescription. I didn't bother to ask what exactly was in it. I was stuck in a dingy bathroom and told to look depressed, they really didn't provide me with very much inspiration. In order to get the look I figured they were going for I went to a place I hadn't gone in months. I thought about home, my parents, school, friends...and the grief and depression just welled up inside of me. I finally snapped out of it when the photographer yelled, "Got it!" And then we were on to the next ad, Crufts.

What surprised me the most was that the Crufts people actually trusted me around their dogs. It was quite hard being so close to such poor defenseless animals, the dogs smelled like a mixture between meat and dirt and it made my mouth water. I was completely disgusted with myself. How could I eat those cute little fur balls? I summoned all my strength and just posed, ignoring the tasty treats just inches away from my fingertips. Thankfully, we got the shot quickly and the dogs were whisked away.

Finally, the last ad was for "Eau de Undead". It amazes me that this Zombie modeling thing has gone mainstream. I only expected freaks like my uncle to get into it, but wow was I wrong. I can't say I understand why a woman would want to smell like rotting flesh, but whatever float their boats, right? The set was made up of a long dark hallway for this shoot, and in my mind all the closed doors represented all the ways I could escape, if only they weren't locked.

I genuinely hope the ads are effective, I did do my best.
As for my future? Who knows what will happen to me. I still hold the hope of someday escaping from my uncle's grasp, but only time will tell.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Edit- I went ahead and added photos to the thread in case the judges don't want to view the larger ones (but I linked those just in case :) )!

I want to thank TRIriana and all the contestants and judges for such a great contest! This was my first and I have learned so much. Zombies will always hold a special place in my heart :D

Eau de Undead

Once there were rainbows.

The world is not a pretty place anymore. I remember stuff, sometimes, from before I turned Zombie girl. I had a nice home. A happy family. The house was falling apart the last time I saw it and my family is gone. I canít find them.

I was hungry and lonely when I joined up with the peoples who wanted me to model for them. I thought I was the only Zombie left until we got to the city. In the city, the living people lock up Zombies and only let them out do the dirty work.

I guess Iím lucky Iím a model. All they make me do is wear this, wear that, stand here, stand there, smile, pout, stick your tongue out . . . If I get lucky and win this contest, maybe they wonít think I will eat them anymore. They will think I have been ďrehabilitatedĒ. They can think what they want since I wonít be telling them how I think their brains would taste good smeared on toast while I look at them from under my lashes.

My ďfriendsĒ said it was time to do our best work. First we made an ad for some drug for men. Why do living people always think Zombie girls love to sit around graveyards? Oh, yeah, they found me down the road from one, didnít they? Well, that drug. Hmmmmph. Silly living old men Ė rushing out to get Viagra. I think they have worse things to worry about. Donít you? The gooey white stuff I want to lick off my fingers comes from heads on shoulders.

The next ad we made was for a dog show arena. It was bad. Very, very bad. People always try to kill what they donít understand and the new dog shows prove it. What happened to flowers, wine and candlelight? All people want to see is blood sports. I cried and cried the day we made the Cruftsterdome ad. It was a bad place and I donít want to ever go somewhere like that again. My ďfriendsĒ promised me I was safe with them. I think they will find out how safe they are with me if they ever take me around that awful place again.

We were almost done making our ads for the contest when some madder than heck Zombie ate the mayorís brains. No Zombie is safe there anymore. I had to hide under the seat in the van to get out of town with my friends. I guess they really are my friends so I wonít eat them after all. When we left town, the sky was on fire and I could hear gunshots firing. We drove far away to the hills.

Our last ad was for a new perfume. We had fun making it at an old falling apart castle. I danced around so much that I couldnít smell anything but me. Oh. Maybe it was the perfume. Ha-ha. I got you.

Now, Iím back to hiding from all living people. I guess I will stay here with my new best friend and have some Whiskey on the Rocks (http://i265.photobucket.com/albums/ii217/deb666/Sims%202%20WZMA%20Contst/DD-goodnightsweetprince.jpg) while we wait for the other guys to come back from delivering our work. Nobody is safe. Not people, not Zombies, not even dogs.

Once there were rainbows.

The Advertising Gig:
Well, I guess I've come so far from just scavenging corpses for brains, now that I'm advertising stuff. Well, I was quite excited to try out whatever thing they're going to make me endorse...

Ad One: Schizno Risperdia (Anti-schizophrenia medicine)
http://i39.tinypic.com/jze3b4.jpg (http://i40.tinypic.com/skuki9.jpg)
...And would you know it, they decide to star me in an ad about a drug that seems to help schizophrenics get over their delusions. It's funny, because I use to suffer the same symptoms of schizophrenia, and now, here I am, reliving a scene in which probably every schizophrenic out there might relate to. When I saw the set, I knew exactly how to inject the feeling of loneliness and hopelessness. Those feelings came naturally with me--it's been the only two feelings present in me since being a zombie.

Ad Two: The 75th Expebury Awards (an art expo/competition)
http://i44.tinypic.com/24fmno8.jpg (http://i42.tinypic.com/123s4gn.jpg)
...It's a very unlikely choice for the advertisers' part, to pick me, an entity with no singe of artistry in me, to star in an ad about an upcoming art expo/competition. But I could not say yes, so they made me pose in front of a painting. But that was it. Unless they were trying to sell a painting, they were doing it quite wrong including me in it. But when I saw the final product--which is the one you see above, it all made sense to me. And it was--what else, but art.

Ad Three: Eau De Undead
http://i39.tinypic.com/25jjehf.jpg (http://i41.tinypic.com/2gtp88y.jpg)
It was weird, how a bunch of zombies come from being just the undead to becoming undead icons, idols even. It was more amazing that memorabilia and such are releasing and selling like wildfire. A perfume, Eau De Undead, was one, and was the one I was chosen to endorse. With this one, I had the privilege to work yet again with Nod Lambert, a fellow model, who I've worked already with in the Expebury advertisement. This time, he takes a bite out of me--or, as it should look like in the ad. And the slogan makes sense of the whole thing--The Delectable Smell of the Dead.

If there's anything I gained in this competition, it's the chance to show everyone how different zombies are in real life from how they've been portrayed in movies and media. But what about life after the contest? That has yet to be seen. Still, I thank the organizers of this contest for making me part of it, and I wish all my fellow ZoModels the best of luck.

-----------------------------------------------------------

And in the words of my ZoModel, thank you TRIriana for making such a great contest for zombies! Good luck everyone and great work! :)

Notes: This has been SOOO much fun! I can't believe it's over...I'm sad to see it go. Everyone's zombies rock :D.

I know this is really, REALLY long. I also know that I'd never have finished this up if I didn't finish it here. Feel free to ignore most of the text under the third picture if you don't care how everything ends...I'm fairly certain I've addressed all of the requirements of the entry before then. I just couldn't make myself leave this with loose ends, 'cause I hate it when people do that to me. Sorry :(.

Also, please excuse any typos...I don't have time to comb over this the way I usually do.

Round 3 - Undead Advertising

The weeks flew by as I acclimated to my new, stolen life. I had always been a quick learner, and I used that to my advantage as I absorbed modern technology like a sponge. Once I figured out some computer basics, I spent all of my free time on websites like Wikipedia and eHow, learning all about current pop culture and modern living.

Fortunately, models were commonly perceived as being dumb as bricks - a stereotype I shamelessly exploited to avoid raising suspicion. It was scary just how quickly everyone believed me.

I was surprised at just how hard modeling was. For a career that supposedly required no talent, the hours were long and the shoots arduous. Tempers often started to flare about six or seven hours into a shoot, and I found it incredibly difficult not to ruin everything by slaughtering the whole bunch. Humans smell delicious when they're angry or upset. To distract myself, I imagined how wonderful Dimitri would taste and smell once I got to him.

Another thing I just couldn't get over was how highly inappropriate the work I was doing felt. I had been horrified when I learned that a magazine like Necro-Play existed, and was certain that it must be an illegal publication which was available only on the black market. While I have no doubt that humanity was just as sick and twisted while I was alive (look at Dimitri, after all) NOTHING like that was readily available on the mainstream markets at the time.

Now, however, Necro-Play (and other companies like it) was everywhere. What's more, honest companies and corporations bought advertising space in those publications, tailored to the "living undead" as the Necrophiliacs were called in polite society.

http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b354/shorea682/round3shot2.jpg

One such shoot was for Crufts - a dog show overseas. I never did manage to wrap my mind around WHY they wanted an ad in Necro-Play. Something about "reaching a new demographic" and "modern re-invention". It felt like a cop-out to me, but I didn't complain...every job I took was leading me one step closer to my goal. The animals were surprisingly easy to be around. I guess it was because of their breeds; the dogs I posed with had been bred for aggression and strength for centuries. I expected them to react violently to me, but I think I just confused them. I may have looked delicate to the human eye, but I know they could sense a kindred spirit in me. Our natures were very similar. I decided, during the shoot, that I would get a dog once I killed Dimitri. It was the first thought I'd had as to what I would do after he was dead.

The more I learned about this new culture I was immersed into, the more my assumptions were challenged. I had assumed that the girls I worked with were being exploited - that they were desperate for money, or attention, or approval - any one of the myriad of reasons that a woman would allow herself to be taken advantage of by sick, twisted men. The longer I spent with them, though, the more I saw that I was wrong. These women were here because they wanted to be - not because anyone was making them. I didn't know what to think about that. I wanted to hate them. I wanted to scream at them that they were being idiots. I wanted to tell them what had happened to me - every gory detail - and demand that they stop playing at something they didn't understand. Instead, I just played along.

http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b354/shorea682/round3shot1.jpg

One of the hardest shoots I did during that time was an ad for Gardasil. I couldn't believe that Necro-Play had enough female readership to warrant such an ad, but I was assured otherwise by those who would know. The whole thing felt surreal. I wondered, had there been a funeral for me? Was there anyone there to mourn me, or did our friends vanish after my family died? What had happened to my aunts and uncles? My cousins? Was there anyone left?

When I got home that night, I couldn't concentrate on anything. My mind was a jumble of conflicting thoughts and emotions, and I didn't know which way was up. I knew I needed to focus on Dimitri...that was what held me together. This life, as full as it was becoming, was not mine. I couldn't spend eternity around people who romanticized the way I had died and the creature I had become. The truth was, I didn't really want to live at all. My existence was a painful abomination; a curse I had never asked for. I wondered constantly what I had done to deserve this, and whether I would ever be at peace.

http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b354/shorea682/round3shot3.jpg

I will never forget my last shoot; so much happened so quickly that I'll probably spend the rest of eternity processing it all.

It was for a perfume - some ridiculous crap about smelling like the undead. I WAS the undead, so I knew exactly what I smelled like...I doubted anyone would want that. Still, I nearly balked when I DID smell the stuff. It was nice...like old linen, spiced tea...and Easter Lilies.

I knew at once that Dimitri had to be behind it, and my desire to kill him increased ten-fold. My suspicions were confirmed when the others arrived. Word on the set was that Demetri Donaldson, editor-in-chief of Necro-Play, was the creator. That he would also be involved in the shoot in some way was all anyone could talk about.

I always did my own hair and makeup, so that no one would be able to touch my face like that first makeup artist had. By the time I stepped out to the set, everyone had arrived. I didn't even have time to properly introduce myself to the male model I would be working with before we were being told to take our places.

The set itself was nice - the motto for the perfume was "Glamour Never Dies" which I thought was actually pretty catchy. The young man I was working with was very courteous, but also nervous. He kept giving me funny looks, and more than once he opened his mouth to say something, but he always seemed to think better of it.

I wondered if it was his first shoot - the photographer was incredibly patient with him. Still, his inexperience was costing us time; when we stopped for lunch, we weren't anywhere near finished. I usually headed back to the makeup trailers at lunch, so I wouldn't have to watch the humans eat. I was headed that way when I heard one of the magazine's producers calling across the lot.

Demetri, man, good to see you! Look, I heard about the Depresse mansion. I'm sorry...I know how important it was to you."

Dimitri was here? I whirled around, just in time to see the producer slapping the male model on the back.

A million thoughts twirled around my brain, and a wave of disappointment crashed over me. It wasn't him. I searched the young face again, just to be sure, but I knew. There was something vaguely familiar about him, but he was younger than Dimitri had been, and his features were not the same. Actually, if I had to compare him to anyone from my past, I would say he looked more like my father than the man who had committed my murder. Everything I had worked for had been in vain; I was no closer to revenge than I had been the day I died.

I felt dizzy - disconnected. I wanted to crumble into a million little pieces, but the last bit of my stubborn self-preservation prevented it. I thought, for a moment, about killing them all, just to distract myself, but decided against it. These people deserved better than that - I was not a cold blooded killer, and I would never allow myself to be one - no matter what. Perhaps I could return home...hide out in the shell of the mansion, living off of vermin...

The thought of my home brought with it the distraction I needed. The producer had told Demetri that he knew "how important to him" the Depresse home had been. Why? How had this young man come to own the property that would one day have been mine, and why did it matter to him?

I took a deep breath and headed over to Demetri, determined to get some answers. As I approached, he cocked his head to one side, studying me, a strange expression on his face. He said nothing when I reached him - just motioned for me to follow him to the end of the drive, away from the crowd.

"That's excellent makeup you have there, Ms. Smithson. It looks very real, even close up. Where do you order it from?"

I was surprised at the direction the conversation had taken, and at a loss for an answer. Instead, I returned his question with another.

"I don't mean to be rude, sir, but does something about me bother you? You've been looking at me strangely all day."

Demetri looked away, not meeting my gaze. I thought for a while he wouldn't answer, but after a while he whispered softly, "You look like someone who was important to me."

I didn't know how to respond, so I just waited. When I lost patience with the silence, I pressed on, knowing I would probably be fired and not caring.

"And that is..."

"My mother. Well, more like my grandmother, really, but I never knew her - my mother favored her, though. She and my grandmother are the ones the perfume was inspired by, and the reason I requested you. I just didn't realize how uncanny the resemblance would be in person."

The silence descended again as I tried to puzzle out what he was saying. I felt like I was working a jigsaw without the box - I had all of the pieces, but I couldn't see the bigger picture. Something dawned on me then, and I returned to my previous line of thinking.

"Why was the Depresse house important to you, Demetri?"

I don't know why I used his given name, but he didn't even seem to notice. Instead he smirked, nodding to himself as he prepared to answer. He knew something I didn't, and it irritated me.

"My mother was born there. It belonged to her family, though most didn't know that. My grandfather bought the home shortly after my grandmother died, but never lived there. By the time I inherited it, all it was good for was photo shoots and movie sets, so I've rented it out. Still, I never wanted to see it burn. I had hoped..."

"Yes?" I was enraptured by his story, as illogical as it was. Who was his mother? Why had she been born there, especially if his grandfather purchased the home only after Demetri's grandmother died? I was confused, but I wanted to know more.

"You aren't the Smithson girl, are you?" The question surprised me, and I panicked. How did he know? I had thought my cover was perfect, and I had no other story to go on.

"I arranged for that shoot - it was very important to me. I wanted the story out - I didn't want to be the only one to bear the burden of it. I hand-picked the girl to play Evangeline, and when she canceled, I hand picked her replacement. You aren't her."

I tried to stutter out a reply, but I couldn't manage anything. Demetri, seeing my reaction, smiled at me.

"Don't worry; I won't tell anyone. Instead, I want to tell you a little story. Would you mind?"

All I could do was shake my head, listening with rapt attention as he began.

"My father was a soldier, and he died before I was born. My mother named me after her father, who had raised her by himself; her mother had died in childbirth. Still, I never felt deprived...our little family of three was nearly perfect. My mother and grandfather doted on me endlessly, and I had every advantage I could ever dream of.

Still, something wasn't quite right. My grandfather was a quiet man, haunted by some demon of his past. Everyone assumed it was my grandmother's death which had upset him so, but I had no idea how right they were.

When I was eighteen, my grandfather took me to work with him, and introduced me to the publishing house he had created from the ground up. It was sick - twisted, and I understood at once that he had never wanted me to see it. That he was showing me had to mean something important, but I was afraid. I waited for him to explain it to me.

'Your grandmother may not be dead. Not in the traditional sense.'

When he said those words, I was certain he'd lost his mind. Of course she was dead - she'd died giving birth to my mother, we all knew that. Why else had we never seen her? And what did he mean, 'in the traditional sense'? I started to interrupt, but he just held up a hand for silence, and I obeyed. I understood that he'd somehow opened a flood gate inside of himself, and that I he couldn't stop for anything now.

He told me the truth. All of it, in full, gory detail. He told me about how he'd fallen in with a bad crowd as a young man, and learned things from them. Unholy things. He told me how he'd fallen in love with an angel, but that she wouldn't have him. Something in him had snapped at her reaction. He knew he didn't deserve her, but he was determined to have her anyway. He was sure that if he loved her long enough, she would come around. But he had to get her family out of the way first. He killed them...every single one, slowly and painfully, right in front of her.

I wanted him to stop, then...I wanted to make it untrue - to walk away and never look back. I couldn't believe that this man, the man who had acted as a father for me, was capable of murder. But he didn't stop there. he kept talking, and I kept listening, because I couldn't move.

He told me that he thought, in his mind, that losing her family should have made her love him. When it didn't, he changed tactics. If he could make her like him, he reasoned, then she would have him. She was too pure, too perfect - she needed to see the things he'd seen, and experience the things he'd experienced, to appreciate his love for her. He...he tortured her. He did terrible, terrible things - things I can't get out of my head, just from the descriptions he gave - and it went on for over a year.

She shouldn't have been alive, and yet she was. He had brought her back to life again and again, always hoping that she would return his love, but she never did. Then he discovered that she was pregnant.

He became much more careful with her then. He was sure that once the baby was born, it would change everything. He didn't touch her for the entirety of the pregnancy. But it was rough - her body had already been broken so many times, it couldn't take the strain. She died, again, when my mother was born, and this time he couldn't bring her back.

He finally left her side to care for the baby. When he returned, her body was gone. He mourned for her as dead, but he knew...he knew.

You weren't dead after all, were you, Evangeline?"

There are no words to describe the state of my mind and emotions by the time Demetri stopped talking. Flashes of what he described came back as he spoke...hazy memories of those nine months - practically heaven compared to the year I had spent before them...the sound of a baby's cry...complete and utter darkness. I still didn't know where I had gone or what I had done in that blank period of time, but that was the last thing on my mind at the moment.

"He's dead, Evangeline."

The words tore through some of the fog, and I turned to look at the familiar young man - my grandson. My grandson?

"When he finished telling me the truth, he pulled out a gun and shot himself. He lived only long enough to pass the burden on to me. I took over his company in the hopes of destroying it and everyone who worked for it from the inside out. But it sucked me in - much the way I imagine it did him. Much the way it has you. When I saw you, though, I knew."

I don't know what he expected me to say. Instead, I said nothing - there was nothing left to say. It was all too much.

"I don't expect you to accept me. I just wanted you to know. I wanted you to know, so that you can get out. I need to know that someone can get out. That someone who's seen too much can walk away...because if you can't, then I never can, and I have to believe that this doesn't define me. Please, Evangeline - please tell me. We can walk away, can't we?"

Dimitri was dead. I knew that the young man in front of me was saying something, something important, but I couldn't really hear him. Dimitri was dead. He'd killed himself for what he'd done to me. He could never hurt anyone else. I sighed, relieved, but a choked sob at my side brought me back to the present.

No, Dimitri couldn't hurt anyone else, but he could and had left behind another broken person. His grandson. MY grandson. I couldn't let go until I had made this one, last thing right.

"No, Demetri. You are not that man. You can walk away. I promise. We'll both...walk away."

Even as I said it, I could feel the tension leaving my shoulders. The heavy burden I'd carried for so long was finally lifted, and there was nothing left but peace. I still didn't understand everything that had happened, but it didn't matter. It was finished, and I could rest. My eyelids drifted closed and I felt myself falling, but I never felt the ground. The last thing I heard was Demetri, frantically calling my name...

The sound changed as I fell, until it became my father's voice. It was time for my birthday party, and there was an extra special surprise waiting for me downstairs.

Congrats, Shorea. Good job. You, too, 1306. And Ktbcca and HappyasaBunny, we did good, too.

This was a great contest, TRIriana. Can't wait for Cycle 2.

And let's not forget to say great judging there, judges!
