View Full Version : Star Trek: Maverick RPG (continuation 2) *positions open*
29th Apr 2008, 11:40 PM
Lt. Woods walks into the shuttlebay looking cross, on top of everything he now has to deal with a missing shuttle he notices that commander Melena and Lt.cmdr. Hal and his faithful dog are taking charge of the situation. He approaches them just in time to hear the commanders plan to dispatch a probe.
Woods: Ma'am, sir I was just informed on what happened. I'm sorry I couldn't get here earlier but I was dealing with the Mead catastrophe. I think it's possible to rig a probe to look for specific warp signatures which shuttle was stolen anyway.
Dammou: Sir maybe Zan and I should start with a manual headcount of the crew. So the lad can use his pent up energy for something useful.
29th Apr 2008, 11:54 PM
*OOC* Good Night
Melena: It's certainly worth a try lietenant, do it.
Hal: It was the Spock that was stolen, apparently. That would probably work, or at least I hope so. Ah Dammou, that would be a good idea although it'll be pretty tedious if the computers decided everyones accounted for. Well, you never know what lengths these people could have gone to, do you? Anyway, if you excuse me I'll need to start questioning our colleagues from the Mead.
Melena: Of course, and really I should be returning to the bridge. Can I count on you to keep the investigation going here Lt. Woods? Let me know if there are any developments.
30th Apr 2008, 12:04 AM
Woods: Did you say the Spock? That's one of the Delta flyer type shuttles. I'll modify a probe to scan for it's masked warp trail. Aye ma'am, lieutenant Kimble in your opinion how far could this shuttle have gone?
Dammou: Yes I know sir but the culprits left us little choice, if the computers don't work we'll need to do it the old fashion way with our eyes and ears. Zan assemble a team we're going hunting.
30th Apr 2008, 12:55 AM
Kimble, who had answered all the obvious questions to the first Securrity peons to visit after his call, was glad that someone had an intelligent question.
Lt. Kimble: With those engins? Their probably already a good five-hundred lightyears away. Just edging the long range sensors, I believe...
30th Apr 2008, 01:55 AM
Luv: *as sh'Raazh walks away* I'm certainly more capable than you are, pirr'nos!
Jodi turns back to her console and begins working. She wonders why it is that andorians seem completely incapable of understanding sarcasm. Given that she, as a trill, is an extremely sarcastic person, this can create problems. Well, Jodi is scarcastic at least. Norva Luv was extremely serious and studied on Vulcan, while Hamas Luve was extremely immature. She can't understand how he even made it past the Symbiosis Comission. All she knows is that it is exceedingly difficult to get used to seemingly endless multiple personality disorder caused by the parasite residing comfortably in her abomen. In her mind it was like being permanantly pregnant with a mentally ill, psychic child.
Marx: To hell with this! Why am I wasting my time talking to you? Just so you can send off your report to Starfleet Intellegence and get a pat on the back? No. F*ck you, I don't know what it is, but everyone here is wasting time.
Nexa: Calm down before I sedate you, human. What do you mean by wasting time? Is something else going to happen?
Marx: Well we might never know if your crewmates continuing fiddling around aimlessly like a bunch of first year cadets!
Marx turns away from the rodent-like woman and heads for the exit. He has no intention of sitting around and waiting to be questioned. He is going to the nearest comm panel and contacting Starfleet Command himself.
Nexa: Stop right there! You are not authorized to leave this medical bay!
Sharpp and Barclay enter the lab. The science officer walks over to a work station and peers into a microscope. He soundlessly waves the engineer over to where he is standing, and invites him to look at the specimen.
Sharpp: What do you think of this? Isn't it unusual? It is not quite Borg technology, whatever it is, but it is certainly unique. Perhaps it is derivitive of Borg nanites? You're the engineer, what do you think?
*Katian and Lennox's Quarters*
Lennox enters his quarters, which are suprisingly still. All of the felines must be asleep somewhere, they are not scurrying about his ankles for once. He walks quietly, as if attempting to maintain the tranquility. It is certainly a drastic change from sick bay, let alone the nearly crashed shuttlecraft Kafka. He sits down on the edge of a hideous purple sofa. Why was everything in their quarters beige or purple or blue?
Kish sits in the storage room of Ten Forward, gaurding a special order for a certain science crewman. She decides to contact her over the comm. But how to not be inconspicious? She couldn't just come out and say what was really on her mind. She activates her civilian communications device and tries to think of something creative to say.
Kish: Kish to Crewman Saron, I have a special order of Cranberry Gaqh waiting for you in ten forward, when will you be able to come get it?
30th Apr 2008, 02:23 AM
Barclay looked for himself, observing the microscopic robotic devices suspended in a fluid.
Barclay: *still looking through the eyepiece* M-maybe... But look at the Oneamisu receiver. It looks like a Federation standard reciever... A-and the same for the T-cell antireceptor. W-where did you get these, L-lieutenant?
30th Apr 2008, 02:31 AM
Sharpp: Oh... I scooped them out of that trill officer's neck that they took to sickbay. The one who was on the landing party. He attacked one of the away team search parties. He bit me, but the poor bastard, I was wearing my EV suit. He got a mouth full of aluminum flexi-derm!
30th Apr 2008, 02:48 AM
Barclay: He bit you? *looks worried* Um, you used proper containment f-fields for this, right?
Katian sets a tray of used dishes in a replicator shelf and recycled it. She noticed Kish talking on a personal comm.
Katian: Kish, when you're done with that call, can you go down to the mess and see if we can borrow a case of Andorian Ale?
30th Apr 2008, 03:06 AM
Kish nearly jumps out of her ears when Katian's voice comes booming in out of nowhere. She turns around, a suprised look still on her face, and stares at her boss for a moment.
Kish:*trying not to seem suspicious* Andorian Ale? ...of course! Yes! Absolutely!
Sharpp gives a worried glance back to the microscope and then turns his line of vision back to the nervous engineer.
Sharpp: *uncertainly* Of course I did! Trust me, I'm a scientist!
30th Apr 2008, 03:40 AM
Reg looked unconvinced.
Barclay: Maybe we should get someone else t-to help with these...
Katian: Thanks. *pauses* Is everything all right? You seem jumpy...
30th Apr 2008, 03:48 AM
Suddenly Sharps expression becomes a very predatory one. He stares into Barclay's eyes like some sort of detached arachnid, preparing to pounce on its prey.
Sharpp: Don't do that lieutenant. The last thing we need is a bunch of know-it-all psych officers nosing around in here. I know what I am doing. This is my life and i most certainly would not intentionally jeopardize the sanctity of my scientific privelage. So please, just work with me. Its for everyone's best interest.
Kish: Oh, I'm fine- just fine! I will go get that Tarcalian Ale now!
30th Apr 2008, 04:09 AM
Katian: That's Andorian Ale, Kish...
Barclay swallowed and backed up a step.
Barclay: O-okay... I w-won't... B-but what do you mean 'b-best interests'...? What haven't you told me?
30th Apr 2008, 04:24 AM
Sharpp: Nothing... I just don't work well with the COs breathing down my neck. Of course, this is a highly sensitive project we are working on. Especially if you are correct and this technology is partially federation based. Well, I would hate for something tragic to happen and your future offspring would be without a highly inept father. Do you know what I mean?
30th Apr 2008, 04:54 AM
Barclay: *tense* Fine. J-just leave Kezi out of this... And d-don't threaten her again, Sharpp.
30th Apr 2008, 05:06 AM
Sharpp: *smirks* I would never threaten Kezi. She is one of the few innocent people in this damned organization... I was threatening you.
30th Apr 2008, 05:39 AM
Barclay turned back to the microscope, angry but determined not to hit Sharpp like he had Dudemeister.
Barclay: quietly* ...What now...?
30th Apr 2008, 05:56 AM
Sharpp: Well, this is the point where I usually hand over the information to Lt. Cmdr. Riddle and go hide in the biology section until I am needed again... But since that isn't an option, I suppose we should try to look further into these nanites. First of all, you are an engineer, I am not. Have you seen anything like this before, anywhere? Because I have. They seem to have share some of the basic componants with early federation nanites. But, they are far more advanced. Whoever did this seemed to take the ball and run with it... Also, I know we aren't security, but why in the hell would anyone infect two starfleet command officers with these? My bets are on some sort of splinter cell group on the planet they visited, but thats just a theory.
30th Apr 2008, 06:21 AM
Barclay: ...You just answered b-both of your questions... I can tell you how the mechanics w-work, but I w-would have no idea how the biological process works... Yes, they are similar to early Federation n-nanotechnology, but there apparent purpose... Its beyond what we h-have.
30th Apr 2008, 08:45 PM
*Crew quarters lower decks*
Saron raises her eyebrow in a typical Vulcan fashion when she gets the cryptic message over the comm. finally some answers.
Saron: Ah my favorite I'll be right there.
Woods: thank you lieutenant, what's in your opinion the most likely course for the shuttle. *turns towards a security officer* Has astrometics turned up anything?
sh'Raazh: Commander *Stands up* I've been working on decrypting the Meads logs but they are in shambles. Lieutenant Luv is working on a tactical scenario just in case the Kisheyans decide to come back.
Saron briskly walks into Ten Forward it takes her a few moments to spot Kish, ever since the telepathic attack had blinded her temporarily she had residual effects, one being her perifial vision was shot to hell. She notices that the Ferengi is very nervous and jumpy.
Saron: Kish you had something for me in the storage room.
Dammou: So mister Zan how do you want to proceed with our deck to deck search?
2nd May 2008, 03:22 AM
Lt. Kimble: Depends on where they want to go... We're still pretty close to the Romulan Neutral Zone, but they have enough horsepower to get to Earth and back without stopping.
3rd May 2008, 11:30 PM
Woods: Yes I gathered that much myself, but I doubt they would go to earth.
Grax: Nothing so far sir.
Woods: Thank you crewman *taps combadge* Lt Woods to astrometics set your scanners to a frequency of 0.395 gigahertz.
Astrometics: understood sir.
Woods: Lt. Kimble can you assist me with the probe?
*Nurse Lancaster's quarters*
Hakeem is fast asleep on the sofa, his monotonic breathing is almost hypnotic. The only change is that he sometimes mumbles in his sleep. The first session between Hakeem and his new counselor was a little rocky at first but Azuma had established first contact none the less. A very tired looking Janice Lancaster tucks the boy in and turns towards Azuma.
Lancaster: You are the first counselor he responded to without hostility. Do you want something to drink.
4th May 2008, 03:37 PM
Zan: Dunno, what are we hunting for anyway? Don't tell me we're counting the entire crew!? *sigh* Well, for a start we're gonna need some sort of list and tick people off as we spot them. Then maybe we should split up and one of us starts on the bridge and makes their way down and the other starts from the bottom decks? We should meet back here or something later and compare notes. So far we have accounted for ourselves, the chief, Cmdr. Melena and Lt. Woods. This is gonna take a while but it'll take longer if we stand here fretting. First to the finish then Khaled? Lets go!
*Nurse Lancaster's Quarters*
Mizuki stood in the doorway of the living area as Janice tucked Hakeem into bed. She had inevitabley lost the game but her young client seemed happy enough. She had made little progress as far as counselling was concerned but she felt that she had gotten to know him a little. She didn't push anything as she always found it better for a clients to talk in their own time, especially if they are children. Her lilac antennae twitched weakly as she was exhausted but nevertheless, the offer of a refreshing drink sounded good.
Azuma: That would be lovely thankyou, thats if you don't mind. He seems like such a sweet child but it's obvious the pain he's in even if you'rre not a trained counsellor. Still, that was a good start although something tells me that I'll need to improve my kadis kot skills. Is he asleep?
4th May 2008, 10:58 PM
Dammou: Agreed Raian, I've already made a list of everybody who was on the away team and who was working in the docking bay. Rock, paper, scissors to decide whose team does the lower decks and whose team does the bridge?
Janice: Do you like Denobulian spice tea? Hakeem is a lovely child but his behavior is completely out of control and at times tiresome. Please don't get me wrong I love him like he's my own but it's hard. He has night terrors and mood swings and he seems to blame counselors for what happened. *begins to cry due exhaustion and stress*
5th May 2008, 01:22 AM
Lt. Kimble: Sure thing, Lieutenant. I have the individual indentification codes for every Delta Flyer on board. Where you want to begin?
6th May 2008, 12:46 AM
Lt. Luv: The good news, commander, is that we have plenty of weaponry, the bad news it that the kisheyans have superior weapons. Now, they rarely chase people down unless there is profit or technology to be gained, or a risk of losing classified information or property. But if they should come after us with one of their warships, we would be dead. Killed, snuffed out, crispy critters, kaput, sleeping with the aardvarks, bird food, sent to the grand treasury in the sky, filleted, whacked, warp drive dust, deceased, lifeless, defunct, no longer living, departed-
Luv realizes that most of her crewmates are staring at her with both amusement and hatred.
Luv: Well, you get the idea. It wouldn't be good.
Sharpp: I know I did. Isn't it great? *sarcastically* I didn't know if you would be capable of answering such a complex set of questions.
Sharpp peers back into the mircroscope, squinting to get a better view of the busy little nanites, happily at work, plotting the destruction of orgnaic life.
At the same time, a Cmdr. Marx quietly enters the lab and makes his way to the nearest comm panel. The lab was nearby, and he thought he wouldn't seem suspicious there, what with being a science officer. He wonders where the Esteemed Lt. Cmdr. Riddle is, but only sees Sharpp and Barclay at the fartherst end of the room.
He cringes at the site of the human science officer, as he realizes who it is. He turns around hoping not to be recognized.
Sharpp: So, Lieutenant, do you think that... *spots Marx, who is attempting to get the comm to work* Hey, you! That comm panel doesn't work, we've been trying to get engineering to come down here and fix it for a week now- You should know that!
Marx: *turns around* It doesn't work? I suppose I should be going then. I have a very important communicae to make-
Sharpp: Lieutenant Marx! I can't believe they let you out of that damned insane asylum. Are you still convinced you're the supreme ruler of the universe?
Marx: I never DID think that. Please, I'm not in the mood for your insane ramblings, this is very important!
6th May 2008, 05:43 AM
Reg took a step back to let the Science officers 'talk', all the while thinking about the nanites. Could a war-torn planet gather the resources to create such devices and put them to use against Starfleet? Perhaps he could take a sample to Engineering and disect it...
He mentally sighed, wishing he could be with Kezi right now still on leave instead of the Lab with Sharpp...
6th May 2008, 11:52 PM
Woods: Well let's set the damned thing to scan for the registry number among other things. Whomever stole the shuttle did their best to cover their tracks. With luck our astrometics scanners can pick up the Spock, there aren't that many Federation/Borg hybrid shuttles flying around.
8th May 2008, 08:32 PM
Sharpp: So, what, you escaped from sickbay?
Marx: Something like that.
Sharpp: I should call security-
Marx: But you aren't. Something strange happened on that planet. I have a hunch on who did it, but I need to speak with someone in command, its obvious that no one here is going to help me with that, so I need to go above your commanders heads. Is that what you're doing? Analyzing the tissue samples from the victims?
Sharpp: Yes, as a matter of fact. Listen, why don't you just-
Marx: Can I help? I was doing some research on the planets medical and technological abilities. The didn't produce very much of their own, but they managed to barder a lot. The underground resistance movement tended to steal even more...
Sharpp glares at Marx who is so humbly trying to be of assistance. He can't help but feel helpless at a time like this, his entire crew almost, was completly wiped out. But he could see that he was getting nowhere fast with the acting chief science officer. He turns to Barclay, with a pleading expression.
Marx: Are you the chief engineer? Can you verify this? Please, something terrible has happened, they've killed nearly the entire crew of my ship. Please, just let me help.
8th May 2008, 11:19 PM
Melena grimaced at the thought and then rolled her eyes to sh'Raazh as luv went off in a little tangent. She nodded and then made her way back to the captains chair.
Melena: Thankyou lietenant, I think we get the message. See what you can do with the weapon systems. It sounds as though we're going to have to try and even the odds, just in case. Helm, resume course. Until we track our missing shuttle we may as well continue along our way. We have a job to do out here people and we can't put it off after every little thing that decides to go wrong. I'm sure that we'll be kept updated on any developments regarding both our dilemmas (quietly) if there are any...
At that moment, Hal and Kira entered after locating the runaway Cmdr. Marx whom he was supposed to be interviewing. He approached the men hoping that Sharpp and Barclay had made some progress and that Marx would co-operate. Upon overhearing the latter part of the conversation, he jumped in hoping to answer his own questions.
Hal: An underground resistance movement? Sounds a little deep, no pun intended of course. Cmdr. Marx I presume? I am Lt. Cmdr. Hal, chief of security around here and I was hoping to talk to you about what happened, after of course locating you after your little escapade from sickbay. We don't need an office for that though and your aid will be invaluable here no doubt, especially seeing as sickbay gave you a clean bill of health. (to Sharpp and Barclay) Any progress then?
*Nurse Lancaster's Quarters*
Mizuki nodded but then seemed a little surprised at Janice's sudden tears but smiles and takes Janice's hand in an attempt to comfort.
Azuma: It must be very hard on you caring for a little boy who's been through so much trauma. The lack of violence this time though can only be a step in the right direction. Denobulian spice tea sounds lovely, would you like me to make us both some? You must be exhausted. Of course I could leave if you wanted me to?
Zan: Sounds fair to me, lets go. I hope I get the bridge though, I'm kinda missing Imaru, heh! Funny really, she may be beautiful but I never thought I'd go for a girl with stalks on her head! Of course, I never thought I'd have a snake in my belly either but meh. Anyway, lets stop wasting time and start the decider!
9th May 2008, 03:55 AM
Kimble shoots off a mock salute before moving to a console.
Lt. Kimble: Aye, Sir. I'll see if I can get the ball rolling down in Astro...
Barclay looks from Sharpp to Marx, unsure of what to do, when The Security Cheif and his pet came in.
Barclay: Uh... N-no, Sir... Mister S-sharpp just asked me here to help him w-with realinging this console f-for a test...
He couldn't believe he was trying to cover for this nutcase, Sharpp. But now that he was just as much in it, and wiht Kezi to think about...
...What if this 'nanovirus' became loose on the ship...? Her and their daughter could be hurt or worse...
Barclay: *glancing in Sharpp's direction* R-right, Mister Sharpp...?
9th May 2008, 04:40 AM
Sharpp: Oh! Absolutely, sir! As soon as Lt. Broccoli gets this console realigned, we are going to be running some tests on the android survivors, Lt. Stitch sent me a request for assistance- We have to use this special foil, though, to keep the spies from listening in on our thoughts.
Sharpp then procedes to grab a sheet of insulating foil from the nearest work station, and stretches it over his head.
Sharpp: I would advise you all to do the same!
Marx: *disturbed* I can't believe you let this man work on your ship, hes dangerous... But yes, Mr. Hal, I would be glad to be of assistance. I am glad to see that your staff is actually starting to be of some use. If it weren't for you, perhaps all of this could have been prevented. I knew something was happening, I was trying to prevent any more harm, but there just wasn't enough time! And then the Maverick came along....
9th May 2008, 01:41 PM
sh'Raazh stands up and takes the XO's seat next to commander Melena. Her antennas twitch a little as she shifts through the data of the Mead, she didn't even registers lieutenant Luv's comments. Most of it was pretty standard stuff, personal logs (which she skimmed over seeing they were private), duty shifts and so on. But the most recent entries of captain Saffin started to show increasing paranoia against his crew and Star Fleet in general. He also started to show an irrational hatred against artificial intelligence and lifeforms. One report mentions that he destroyed one of the holodecks for no apparent reason. Also troubling was the fact that she found several encoded messages and so far every attempt at unlocking them had as result a further degradation of the data. sh'Raazh looks up at the commander lost in thoughts.
sh'Raazh: Commander Melena, I have a partial report for you about what transpired on the Mead.
Dammou: Okay Raian keep your thoughts on your work and your hormones in check *a twinkle in his eyes betrays his amusement* Rock, paper, scissors. *Dammou takes scissors*
*Nurse Lancaster's quarters*
Lancaster: I'm so sorry. Please stay I'd get you some tea.
Woods: Thank you mister Kimble, you'll be flying the Maverick again in no time.
*Crew Quarters lower decks*
Thellin and Tahlandi are having a meal together in silence. Thellin is still a little shaken about what happened earlier and Tahlandi is feeling a little uneasy that he is snooping in his friends medical history. To add to the confusion during this last week romantic feelings have begun to develop making this moment even more awkward.
Thellin: Did you find out why I did have a telepathic seizure?
Tahlandi: Well it seems your brain is hardwired a little different than most Andorian/Anear hybrids making you at times more vulnerable for telepathic attacks and so.
Thellin: I see, so why are you on the case and not a doctor? I'm not mentally ill
Tahlandi: Nobody is saying that Sorjei
Thellin: I'm sorry Rann it's just, never mind I'm sleepy goodnight.
Tahlandi is a little flabbergasted by the sudden departure of Thellin and stares at the empty seat before him.
Archer: Lieutenant T'lei, I'm counselor Archer I'd like to speak to you about what happened earlier.
9th May 2008, 11:07 PM
Lt. Kimble: May that be true...
Kimble inputs all the information he can find on the Delta Flyer along with a request for Astrometrics to scan for its unique energy signature.
Lt. Kimble: All right, Astrometrics has the information, early reports estimate twelve minutes for the first scan to complete. If you don't mind, Lieutenant Woods, I'd to go to Astro and supervise.
9th May 2008, 11:16 PM
Woods: Of course not the probe will be ready to be launched in two minutes. Happy hunting lieutenant.
Although the chief gives of the impression that he is chipper on the inside he's not. In his mind he is ticking of engineers whom are capable of pulling of such a heist and sadly the list is long so it boils down to who has a motive to do so?
Cadet Kheyl walks into astrometics looking cross, why did he volunteer to stay on call. He takes a station and listens to CPO Indigo shooting out orders.
Indigo: Cadet I need you to reset the sensors to this frequency.
Kheyl: Aye sir.
Mogwar materalizes on the Spock. The Klingon commander manages to look even bigger and more intimidating in person than he did on the view screen. The fact that he is armed to the teeth isn't exactly the most reassuring sight to behold.
Mogwar: *booming voice* Marit that uniform doesn't suit you *turning to N'vek and Tigan* Since when are you lot spotted?
Tigan: My father was a Trill and my mother was a Romulan/Bajoran hybrid. *looks over at his nephew wondering how the boy is feeling*
Mogwar: *lets out a laugh* That explains your ugly noise.
Tigan feels himself going red with anger and embarrassment, he disliked the company but tried to hold up a certain macho attitude because showing weakness in front of a Klingon was dangerous to say the least. Lt. Roth on the other hand laughed with Mogwar and gave subtle hints he and N'vek should do the same.
Mogwar: So Marit why should I give you a cloaking device?
10th May 2008, 11:18 PM
T'lei pushes herself up on her elbows and takes a confused look around the room.
T'lei: I am sorry, mister... Archer? I am sorry, I am afraid I don't know what happened earlier. In fact, I don't know what I am even doing here. I should really get back to duty.
N'vek cowers in his seat as the Klingon appears on the ship. He was always somewhat intimidated by klingons, and the current situation wasn't currently helping. He just tries to remember his psychology lessons regarding Klingons and tries his best not to look terrified. The uncontrollable shivering doesn't help. Meanwhile, Merit releases a hearty laugh
Roth: Well, if I don't, I will have to slaughter you and your crew!
N'vek: *gulps* Um... slaughter?
11th May 2008, 11:36 PM
Archer gives Lt. T'lei a quizzical sorta of look, was the tumor was causing retrograde amnesia? Archer is surprissed by this and also the selectiveness of the amnesia was suspicious to him. He never really believed that cases of lacunar amnesia were real, the ones he had seen were all uncovered to be hoaxes so he can't help but feel a little suspicious at this moment. He decides that he should handle the situation carefully, the memory loss could be purely psychological due the stress or it could be biological, brains do have the annoying tendency to surprise you. Of course he couldn't exclude the possibility that it was both, cause and effect were seldom clear cut in cases like these.
Archer: I see, can you tell me what the last thing is you do remember before waking up in sickbay? *said in an empathic tone*
Mogwar lets out a bellowing laugh and slaps Lt. Roth on the shoulders almost toppling her over.
Mogwar: I like your guts *turns to N'vek* So little one do your spots also quiver with fear. Tell me do you have a warriors heart or do I hear the heartbeat of a coward?
Tigan notices that N'vek is uncomfortable being in the pressence of Mogwar and he can understand why the Klingon must be at least 2 meters and 75 centimeters tall and equally broad shouldered. His teeth are like sharp daggers and his laugh doesn't reach his eyes at all when he turns towards the cadet. Tigan hopes that N'vek finds a way to hide his fear and take a stand against this very intimidating Klingon man.
11th May 2008, 11:56 PM
T'lei is extremely confused by the andorians line of questioning.
T'lei: I was doing the daily security rounds, as usual. Hal and that infernal beast of his were too busy to be bothered with it.
N'vek tries his best to hide his fear and attempts to deepen his voice as he speaks.
N'vek: No... *staring at the klingon intensely as he stands* I find you about as frightening as a tribble. No, are you here for business, or to swap insults like some kind of quivering, honor-less patok?
12th May 2008, 12:08 AM
Mogwar grins, which in fact makes he look even more freighting than before but in his eyes you can see pleasure.
Mogwar: Only a brave or possible foolish man would dare to speak to my like that. And I can tell that you are no fool so you must be brave. I have the cloak but I doubt it can be integrated with this p'taq technology.
Tigan: A few minor alterations should do the trick, can I see it.
Archer: do you remember the Kisheyan Androids that came aboard.
Archer knows that this must be confusing and freighting for T'lei but he needs to uncover what she remembers and what not to get a picture on how to counsel her. Also he should do an extensive test battery with her to see the extent of her amnesia but first he wanted to prepare her for the bad news about the tumor in her brain.
14th May 2008, 09:41 AM
(OOC: I am sorry I haven't been around guys. I have been all nerves lately. Exams are in a couple of days and I have been trying my damndest to cram for them. Anyhow, it will all be over saturday and your faithful moderator/chief medical officer/chief science officer/local lunatic will be back in the game! If I'm not around, please feel free to use my characters when needed.)
15th May 2008, 10:59 AM
Melena glanced over as the acting first officer took the seat next to her and offered her report.
Melena: Alright, lets hear it.
Zan: (amused) Whatever 'sir'.(takes rock) Looks like I win but what have I won? Upper decks or down? Forget that, it would make sense if I started from the top and worked my way down wouldn't it? Meet back in the middle?
Hal rolls his eyes as Sharpp once again starts acting oddly, for lack of a better way of describing it, but decided to leave him to it although he does suspect that the two lietenants are hiding something as each had made iit obvious in their own little way. The bajoran decided that perhaps it would be a good idea to assign a security officer He turned to Marx as he replied to his outburst.
Hal: What happened on the Mead was unfortunate, to say the least, but now is not the time to play the blame game. We'll leave that to Starfleet Command and in the meantime we'll do what we can. I'll leave you to it then lietenants.
With that, he made his way back to security as he found himself with the mundane task of reviewing security logs from both the Mead and the Maverik. It was probably about time he checked up on the shuttlecraft incident to see what progress had been made there.
*Nurse Lancaster's Quarters*
Azuma: It's alright, I'm here to listen so there's no need to apoligize. Hakeem sure is a handful so it's no wonder the stress is getting to you. Don't get me wrong though, he's a lovely child! He just needs pointing in the right direction, and after what happened to his parents its hardly surprising.
15th May 2008, 10:58 PM
sh'Raazh: It's about their latest mission commander, captain Saffin mentions that he uncovered dealings in biological weaponry. Apparently some factions were developing a biological weapon but the strange thing is that he's next log doesn't mention anything about it. He talks about meeting their leaders and some local dish, the rest is well insane mumbling. But a week later he makes mention in his log that he distrust his science officers and engineers and accuses them of trying to overthrow him using holographic technology and nanites. Three days ago he enters something about his crew slowly transforming in cyberbiological beings and he ordered the deactivation of all holographic systems, he actual deleted the medical emergency program, ma'am.
Dammou: Sounds fair to me and ensign as soon one of us find whom is missing we report that directly to our chief.
*Lower decks - cadet section*
Freezal is sitting in the corner of her shared quarters with T'rei reading a book about Logarithms, a dry subject to say the least.
Freezal: So T'rei have you started studying for your exams yet? You know I wonder what PO Tigan wanted with N'vek?
Lancaster: I suppose your right, thank you Azuma. It's hard to explain what happened, he's been asking questions about why and I am at loss what to tell him. I mean how do you explain something like this to an eight year old.
Indigo: *noticing Lt. Kimble* Sir, I think we've spotted our missing shuttle; the signal is vague and we're picking up another ship it appears to be Klingon in design.
Lt. Woods launches the probe and transfers the readings directly to security, the bridge and engineering for analysis. He inspects the stability of the tractor beam which is of with a .05 procent acceptable but the chief rahter has a smaller margin of error and begins calculating to reduce the error in the beam.
Nurse: How are we feeling captain, do you need anything?
((ooc: Good luck with your examines spiderviveka, hope you don't mind that I build on your brainwave of nanites and mind alteration.))
16th May 2008, 02:22 AM
Kimble moved from the door he just entered towards Indigo.
Lt. Kimble: *looking at the results* Ah-ha... How much of a match to the Spock's ID code?
Barclay waited until Hal was gone for sure before speaking.
Barclay: T-that was... Something. Sharpp, we're g-going to be caught...
Patton: No thank you, Nurse. I feel all right... Could I speak with the Medical Officer in charge?
19th May 2008, 12:04 AM
Nurse: Yes of course captain. *leaves the captain* Doctor Nexa captain Patton wants to speak with the a senior medical officer. I assume that is you in the abstence of doctor Lennox.
Kheyl: It's a match sir but for some reason it's barely recognizable as such.
Indigo: I'll run the other ship through our database and see if we can find any information on it.
Lt. Dammou and his team begin their search on the lower decks. Dammou isn't sure if they find the culprit amongst cadets, ensigns, petty officers and crewmen. Dammou shifts true the long list and decides it's best to start with the ones who have engineering experience.
19th May 2008, 01:03 AM
Nexa looks up from her PADD and stares at the nurse with large, irradecent black eyes.
She goes to the captains side and seems calm, save a nervous twitch of her tail.
Nexa: What can I assist you with, Captain Patton?
Sharpp grins at Barclay with slightly crooked yet emaculate teeth.
Sharpp: Perhaps, but at least I have an insanity defense in case anything goes wrong.
20th May 2008, 12:09 AM
Name and Rank: captain Mogwar
A brief sentence or two describing your personality: Mogwar is a typical Klingon in the sense he values honor but at the same time he has hand in all kind of shady dealings which most Klingons would consider dishonorable. Mogwar is known to have a sense of humor.
((ooc: picture soon))
23rd May 2008, 05:48 AM
Barclay frowns and turns back to the microscope. Sharpp was right. If they were caught, he had no alibi...
Barclay: *speaks low* I... I c-can't continue this...
Lt. Kimble: Good thinking. Pull what you have so far on the shuttle... And, see if you can get a personel count. Maybe we can figure out who took it with that.
Patton takes in the appearence of the Medical Officer, realizing she does not remember ever seeing her before.
Patton: I was looking to discuss when I can be dischared, Doctor...?
25th May 2008, 11:04 PM
Indigo: The Klingon ships registration number matches the Klang, a K't'inga class ship. Sir according to our records this ship went missing 3 months ago, it's captain a Klingon named Mogwar is wanted for his involvement in a smuggling ring.
Kheyl stands aside and closely watches the chief and lieutenant Kimble's expressions. Kheyl can't think how this new information is helpful, granted there were a handful of Klingon officers aboard the Maverick but most Klingons would found stealing a shuttle a great dishonor and Mogwar has fallen from grace because of his activities so Kheyl is pretty sure that the chances that somebody of the Klingon crew is responsible for the shuttle theft is slim to none.
Kheyl: *hesitates* I don't see how this new information is helpful sir.
((ooc: a picture link of a K't'inga class ship http://www.ex-astris-scientia.org/schematics/ktinga.jpg ))
27th May 2008, 11:39 PM
Melena furrowed her brow as sh'Raazh gave her report. The situation was certainly curious, to say the least, and had had such tragic consequences. The missing shuttlecraft situation couldn't have happened at a worse time. Security was stretched tight questioning the Mead's surviviors and accounting for all crew members and she wondered how her old friend Eloran was handling everything. She had faith in the earth raised bajoran but there was a lot happening at once. She turned her attention back to the acting first officer so as to concentrate on one problem at a time.
Melena: That is strange, it sounds like someone didn't want word getting out. It sounds like these people should be reinvestigated but only after we receive a report from sickbay on what caused this to happen in the first place. It's starting to sound as though there was something added to that food that wasn't for the flavour. Good work commander. No doubt we'll receive a message from starfleet command soon, no doubt telling us that this was somehow our fault.
T'rei: Indeed I have but I have grown quite bored of it for now. If only I had inherited a little more vulcan the ability to hide my emotions every now and again. I haven't actually seen N'vek since that last meeting, I hope he isn't doing anything that I wouldn't.
Heading for the bridge, Raian and his team entered the turbo lift as the trill attempted to analyze the situation. He wondered why someone of the maverik crew would steal a shuttlecraft in the first place, never mind go to so much trouble as to cover their tracks. How they had even fooled the computerinto accounting for everyone was beyond him. He feared that by the time a manual head counted had been completed, even if they did find anyone missing it would actually be too late to do anything. Finding out who took the craft seemed pointless anyway as the priority was of course tracking it. Still, order where orders and he decided that checking engineering and helm officer would be a good start. PADD in hand, he entered the bridge to begin the tedious task.
27th May 2008, 11:42 PM
Kimble rubbed his chin thoughtfully.
Lt. Kimble: It could be... If the person or persons who stole the shuttle are working in Mogwar's smuggling business... Computer? *computer beep* Go through the current personel roster, is there anyone missing from the ship?
Computer: *beep* The Requested Action Will Take Aproxmitely Three Minutes Fourty-Nine Seconds To Complete. Please Stand By.
27th May 2008, 11:55 PM
Shrall: Sir I've just received an updated rapport about the shuttlecraft theft, it seems a Klingon criminal named Mogwar is involved.
Before Freezal could answer T'rei the doorbell went of and disembodied voice announced that it was security at the door.
Freezal: Come in, can we help you lieutenant Dammou?
Dammou: good evening cadets, there has been a shuttle theft and are questioning everybody. I see that you both worked in the shuttlebay reconfiguring the sensors from 12.56 till 13.25 hours. Did any of you two notice something strange?
Freezal: No sir I didn't, did you T'rei?
sh'Raazh: Yes I'm sure of that ma'am. Shall I prepare a preliminary report for Star Fleet command? Commander I doubt this has anything to do with the food. *notices ensign Zan and his team entering the bridge* Can we help you ensign?
Kheyl: Do you really think a star fleet officer would be involved in something like smuggling that's dishonorable.
Meela: *sarcastically* Yes all the fleet officers are honorable men and women, corruption is unheard of in Star Fleet. Sir, I doubt that the computer will find anybody missing the culprits have hoodwinked the computers. Do you really think a second search will yield results if the first one didn't.
Marrit was clicking her tongue impatiently while Tigan was running a diagnostic test on the cloack. Meanwhile Mogwar was causally checking out the shuttle. The towering Klingon turns towards N'vek with a broad grin on his face, meant as a friendly gesture but comes across as terrifying none the less.
Mogwar: What brings you on this mission young warrior friend. Did Marrit ever tell you the tale of how we met? It was in a glorious battle worhty of song. So have you fought many glorious battle young warrior?
28th May 2008, 02:48 AM
Lt. Kimble: *crosses arms over chest* You ever hotwire at computer to report you at class without actually being there in the Academy? If not you missed out, because it was fun as hell... But you also lean a few computer tricks along the way.
Computer: *computer beep* Search Complete. No Missing Personel.
Lt. Kimble: Computer... Locate command protocol Charlie-Beta-Tango-Eight, crossreferenced with Nebula Squadron Five, clearance Omega.
Computer: Processing...... *beep beep* Protocol Found.
Lt. Kimble: *grinning* That, ladies and gentlemen, was my old squad's 'Ghost,' conviently on file since its discovery.... Took weeks to get it in the Academy computers, but with it we could skip a few classes without instantly being caught. Now take the protocol, Ensign, and crossreference it with the personel logs. Look for anything similar in configuration and you might find the source of the hotwiring....
28th May 2008, 11:47 PM
Kheyl had a weird sorta smirk on his face, he felt torn between admiration and disapproval for his senior. But Richie knew his stuff within minutes Kheyl found an encrypted personal log with the code. Ensign Meela let out a a small giggle as she turned towards Lt. Kimble.
Meela: Sir we've found a very similar code on the personal workstation of Lt. Roth.
Kheyl: I've also found it on the personal LCARS of Petty officer Tigan, Sir. Shouldn't we contact security?
Indigo: Strange, if I'm not mistaken both crewmen are Romulan what would they want with Klingons?
30th May 2008, 08:22 PM
Lt. Kimble: Who knows what they want, but at least we have one culpret's name... Go ahead and get that Lieutenant Hal in here. He'll want to see this... *grins* And we all want to be upstanding, responisble officers, don't we?
3rd Jun 2008, 11:14 PM
Meela: Aye Sir, Lt. commander Hal please report to astrometics we have some findings you may find interesting.
Kheyl gives Lieutenant Kimble an apraising look what does he mean with that last comment? Kheyl has often wondered how a laidback man like Kimble climbed so high in the ranks, he doesn't exactly seems to want nor desire a senior position. He certainly lacks the uptight manners that most senior officers have.
Kheyl: What will happen now sir? Do we pursue them or deliver the Mead first?
4th Jun 2008, 01:19 AM
Lt. Kimble: That's not for me to decide... But if I were at eh helm, we'd chase the shuttletheives. No one steals one of my Delta's and gets away with it...
8th Jun 2008, 01:56 PM
After receiving the message from Meela, Hal entered astrometrics glad for a break from the tedious task of scouring the logs from the Mead. He had just passed both teams counting the crew and had both the team leaders in tow, feeling that their task was no longer neccessary and that they may benefit from whatever news they had to be given from the crewmen in astometrics.
Hal: Alright, what have we got?
9th Jun 2008, 11:27 PM
The officers assigned to astrometics begun pulling up the data they collected on the shuttle and their unexpected guest. For a moment the air was thick with anticipation and nobody seemed to answer the commanders question.
Lt. Dammou and his team joined Lt. cmdr. Hal to astrometics, along with the personal files on Petty officer Tigan. His roommates will be questioned later on, for now the personal logs get priority. Dammou wonders what possible reason a non com could have to steal a shuttle. Dammou notices that ensign Zan has also returned.
Dammou: Ensign, do you have the files of Lt. Roth? I wonder what the hell possessed those two to steal a shuttle, according to petty officer Tigan's roommates the two had barely contact before this incident.
10th Jun 2008, 04:42 PM
Kimble looked up at the Security Chief once he entered. None of the junior officers seem inclined to respond. Not tht he expected them to, he was senior right now...
Lt. Kimble: Lieutenant Hal, what do you make of this? *points to screen* Apparently Lieutenant Roth has tricked the computer. We think he's one of the ones who took the Delta Flyer...
12th Jun 2008, 05:24 PM
*OOC* I'll be away next week as from tommorow so I won't be posting. I know I haven't posted much anyway lately but hopefully that will change when I get back. Oh, and feel free to use my characters when and if they're needed. No killing or maiming though, but I don't mind minor injuries, should the need arise.
Hal peered over Kimble's shoulder in order to analyze the data before him.
Hal: So you think he took the flyer? Thats a reasonable conclusion given the circumstances. Does she have any accomplices or was she acting alone? Did anyone run a background check on Lt. Roth?
Zan: Sir, I have the files here but I haven't had chance to look through them.
Hal: Good work ensign! Do you have anything to report Lietenant (Dammou)?
12th Jun 2008, 11:06 PM
Dammou: Sir I was just saying that we have another suspect, an engineer named Jerrod Tigan, he's enlisted and holds the rank of petty officer. His specialty is bio engineering which could account for the false signals earlier, he certainly has the knowledge. Lt. Kimble has either lieutenant Roth or petty officer Tigan worked on the shuttle program?
20th Jun 2008, 05:58 AM
OOC: Okay, guess what? spidervivkea was banned. I warned her, but noooo....
So we can do one of three things: let this RP die a peaceful death, continue witout out fearless leader, or make a new thread and try to start over.
20th Jun 2008, 10:01 AM
ooc: continuing this thread with three players is possible but I'm inclined to vote for the peaceful death of this one and start a new thread if people are interested (of course I'm still interested to join).
20th Jun 2008, 07:17 PM
OOC: I'm inclined to a new RP as well. You can keep your current characters, but I'd want to start over from the launch of the ship.
20th Jun 2008, 08:52 PM
OOC: I second that all though I'd probably lose a few characters. Seeing Mikeyo is absent I think we should await her answer before starting a new thread.
20th Jun 2008, 10:25 PM
OCC: Of course. We'll wait. :)
25th Jun 2008, 02:54 PM
I'm back, sorry to keep you waiting! I agree with you guys that we would be better off starting over. We could keep some of of our charas although we'll obviously need new ones as we need a new captain (edit: no we dont, moorespino played her lol), to name but a few.
25th Jun 2008, 03:18 PM
OOC: I've already made a list of the characters I'll be bringing back. I'm going to lose all of my cadets, Hakeem Shittu, NCO Archer cpo Saron and po Tigan. So what is our next move?
characters that made the cut are:
Lt. cmdr. sh'Raazh
Lieutenants. Woods and Dammou
ensigns Tahlandi, Mirok and Thellin
25th Jun 2008, 03:25 PM
I would say that we should probably decide which charas we're keeping and what else we're changing. Are we changing the ship and its overall mission or leaving as is for example?
As far as charas go I'll be keeping the following:
Lt. Cmdr. Hal (although I'm not sure about his dog, might make him more normal this time)
I may bring more back as the story progresses and maybe change aspects of their personalities or history to make a little more sense.
25th Jun 2008, 03:30 PM
We could relaunch the Maverick and give it a fresh new start and a new coat of paint and a spanking new mission or keep it's old mission. But I think we should have some sort of brainstorm session about it.
25th Jun 2008, 03:34 PM
Agreed. I think I would prefer it if it were an exploration vessel rather than being stuck on the neutral zone as it would be less restrictive in regards to events which could possibly occur.
25th Jun 2008, 03:40 PM
I'm neutral about this issue: exploration or neutral zone both have their story possibilities and pitfalls. For e.g. exploration of the Gamma Quadrant could be interesting start but than again that could be just me.
25th Jun 2008, 05:32 PM
Hm, I'm defiently wanting to change the mission, maybe even going from a Galaxy-class to another model. Let's start with the crew manifest and work our way from there.
Character's I'm keeping:
Captain Sara Patton
Lt. Richard Kimble
Lt. Reginald Barclay
spiderviveka has also given me permission to use her characters, but I will be moving the ones in Senior Officer positions to open up more for you guys, should you wish. ;)
Captain- Captain Sara Patton
Executive Officer- Cmdr. Melena
Chief Engineer- Lt. Joshua Woods
Chief Science Officer-
Chief Security Officer- Lt. Cmdr. Hal Eloran
Chief Medical Officer-
Navigator- Lt. Commander Tara sh'Raazh, Andorian
Helm Officer- Lt. Richard Kimble, Human/Betazoid
So any takers?
25th Jun 2008, 09:41 PM
what about a sovereign class like the Enterprise E
or intrepid class ship like Voyager
I could give ensign Tahlandi a promotion to Lt.jg and make him temporary chief science officer until a more suitable candidate can be found (seeing his field lies in humanoid behavior and not so much in physics.)
26th Jun 2008, 01:08 AM
Well, if you want you can take the position on a permant basis, or even create a new character for the position. And since there are three open spaces and three of us, we could each take an extra Senior Officer (I'll be changing that rule, since we're the only ones playing ;) ).
26th Jun 2008, 11:48 AM
I'll make Tahlandi a junior lieutenant and give him the spot as chief science officer for now, maybe I'll create a more all around scientist later on.
26th Jun 2008, 07:11 PM
Seeing as my computer has died a death (i'm using my dads spare which can't run the sims), I won't be making any new charas for a while. I could bring back Azuma as ships counselor and make her a stronger character. As for the ship, I'm not that fussed but I'm more familiar personally with the intrepid as I've seen more of voyager than the most recent star trek movies. This means that I could probably picture the layout better but on the other hand, the mission may call for something a little bigger and fancier. As I said before, makes no odds to me :)
27th Jun 2008, 10:17 PM
I personally like the idea of bringing back Azuma Mikeyo :-)
So if I take the senior science officer position with Lt.jg Tahlandi Rann and Mikeyo takes the counselor position up with Azuma. It seems you'll be left with the senior medical officer position Moorespino. I hope you don't mind too terrible. ;-)
27th Jun 2008, 10:49 PM
Nope, don't mind at all. :)
Okay so that is taken care of, now we need a ship. Do we all agree on keeping the Maverick name or do we change that? And I'm all for exploration of the Gamma Quadrant as our main mission, but a Galaxy-class might be a bit large and Intrepid a bit small. Any other suggestions?
27th Jun 2008, 10:53 PM
The name Maverick is fine with me. I'm not really an expert on starship designs but star trek wiki can help us there:
Or this little site:
The galaxy class has 42 decks and a crew of 1014
The sovereign class has 29 decks and a crew of 855
The intrepid class has 15 decks and a crew of 270
I'd say we pick the sovereign it's smaller than the galaxy class but bigger than the Intrepid class. It's technology is akin to the Intrepid class which we know and love from voyager but on a larger scale. Here is a link with some information (sorry if I go information happy)
As for the mission taking place in the Gamma Quadrant I say yea :-)
(a side note the sovereign as the intrepid class don't use the navigation position anymore they fussed navigation and helm into conn and have operations instead, I'll be more than willing to change sh'Raazh position to operations)
27th Jun 2008, 11:29 PM
Looks like Miss Azuma was quite popular :). I'd be all for an exploration of the gamma quadrant as to me it seems rather interesting prospect. As for the ship, I vote for sovereign. When you put it that way moorespino, it seems like the most logical choice. The names still cool with me anyway!
Edit: My charas will be the following
Executive Officer: Cmdr. Melena (Orion/Human)
Chief of Security: Lt.Cmdr. Hal (Bajoran)
Ship's Counselor: Lt.JG. Azuma (Andorian/Human)
Security Officer: Ensign Zan (Trill)
I might even promote Azuma and Zan but we'll see.
27th Jun 2008, 11:45 PM
I heart psychologist even clinical ones:jig:. Kidding aside I think the exploration of the gamma quadrant has indeed some interesting prospects almost nothing is known about it. Only that a large part of the Gamma Quadrant is controlled by the Dominion and they prevented exploration and even started a war over it. The war between the Dominion and the Federation and its allies ended in 2375. If we set the events after Nemesis (2379) we would be around 2380. So me thinks the Federation is ready to do what it does best: "to seek out new life and new civilizations, to boldly go where no one has gone before."
28th Jun 2008, 03:09 AM
And to honor our fallen leader, we have to explore the Vorta's origins. They were spiderviveka's most favorite aliens....
So a Soverign-class, named Maverick, and all senior positions are taken. Goodie, now all that's left is to set up a new thread. I have other RL obligations this weekend (sorry, guys) but it'll be up at the latest by Tuesday.
Until then, feel free to check out the new link in my signature. Great new Sims/comic book site.
28th Jun 2008, 04:55 PM
I like that exploring the Vorta's origin.
A question do we ignore what happened here and completely start over or do we acknowledge it (or maybe parts of it)?
Also don't we need to close this thread before we can start a new one.
No biggie moorespino RL always comes first.
edit my characters will be as following:
Lt.cmdr. Tara sh'Raazh (Andorian): operations
Lt. Joshua Woods (Human): Engineering
Lt.jg. Tahlandi Rann (Cardassian): science
Lt. Khalid Dammou (human): Security and field nurse/medic
Lt.jg. Korvin Caeli (Bolian): Strategic operations
ensign Mirok Elias (Cardassian/Bajoran hybrid): conn
ensign Sorjei Thelin (Aenar/Andorian hybrid): sensor analyst/astrometics
crewman Imaru Hrisvalar (Andorian): linguist (should switch her to blue instead of gold)
29th Jun 2008, 11:34 AM
Just whenver you're ready moorespino! As motom said, rl always comes first! Anyway, I think we could keep some of what happened as what the characters did on their last assignment, but thats up to you as I assume that this will be the Maverik's maiden voyage.
15th Mar 2009, 09:47 AM
Just woundering weather this game is still going.
Just I like what i see and I have a crewman of my own.
Here he is--->NextPost
