Late Night Talk Shows - Your Opinion?

Conan O'Brien just took over The Tonight Show, replacing Jay Leno. I'm pretty excited about that! O'Brien is probably one of the funniest guys on TV and I really didn't find Leno very funny at all (although I do respect the man). Don't even get me started about Letterman...that guy is just awful.

O'Brien's late night was taken over by Jimmy Fallon. Still a rookie so I'd say "eh," but still better than Leno or Letterman. He mimics a lot of what Conan used to do.

I think Letterman is awful, too. At least Leno does a good job of delivering his lines so that it feels as if he wrote the majority of them. Letterman lacks the ability to ad-lib; I think his delivery is incredibly wooden. He's not even funny, in my opinion.

Conan is going to take some time for me to get used to. I think that he allows himself just a second too long to chuckle at his own joke before he moves on to the next, and he doesn't use a drum snare like Leno did to camouflage it. Still, he's a funny guy, and I have hope for him.

What about Jimmy Kimmel? I don't usually watch his show (too late for me), but I DVR it when he's interviewing someone I like. Sometimes it's a bit painful, but he does a very good job of putting the interviewee in an amusingly awkward place :lol:.

I'm not a fan of late night talk shows but Jimmy Kimmel is ok :)

I love Craig Ferguson (Late Late Show, on after Letterman). He does the best monologues of any of the current late shows hosts (imo). He never lets me down when I need a laugh. :)

I never watch Leno or Letterman so I can't say much. Every now and then I'd catch them and I'd always keep it on Leno. I prefer Craig Ferguson, he's hilarious.

I'd watch more Late, Late show if it wasn't so late (haha) because I'm rarely up at that time.

By the time late night television is on I'm usually watching something recorded earlier or the Tennis Channel. Nothing quite clears my mind like athletic girls in skirts grunting as they whack things. :D
