View Full Version : Toddler plays DUET using xylophone?!

My sim has an ex-roomie ghostie ladyfriend whom I moved into the house next door, then went visiting and did the try for baby bit, she has had a baby boy who is my sim's son. Boy is a normal sim. (I mention this as background in case it's relevant because of strong relationship between the boy and my sim affecting stuff later on.)

The boy is now a toddler, and last night when I was playing I take my sim to their house to visit; the boy was busy eating from the baby bottle I think, so I take out the guitar and start playing, thinking that playing guitar to a baby or toddler might be something that benefits them. Toddler finishes eating, crawls away to the xylophone, starts playing it from note one in tune with my dude's song. Very simple notes, yes, pling pling-pling, but he's hitting the notes in the right place in tune or rhythm to the guitar song. At one point the song has a faster riff sort of pace, during which the toddler sat waiting holding the xylophone thingy ready with his hand raised, the song goes back to the slower melody part and he joins in again playing simple notes in tune with the guitar melody. He's playing a duet with the guitar.

Comments? Has anyone else seen this or is this a well-known occurrence?

Never seen this personally but that sounds awesome. Going to have to try this out.

Kinda weird if they implemented this with the toddler xylophone, but not with other guitar playing Sims.

Yes it would be weird; but one implication might be that if some expert modder could find the 'duet' function, if it exists, unlock it and tie it to the guitar object, then a guitar should be able to play a duet with another guitar, maybe. Possibly the player could not do this because the pie menu doesn't have the option for duet written in, but a non-player sim could autonomously join your active sim in playing guitar.
