Are you more than just a pretty face? Do you love to model and have fun? If so, this contest is for you! This contests was made after Emma SC's contest Picture Perfect. That contest was the first one I ever entered and I loved the way it was set up so I decided to make a second cycle.

Hi, lets get those applications rolling in! ^_^

I have a quick question, cuz I've never been fully sure of the answer. So is 'sim pose' the in-game poses or is it the custom pose boxes?

3hannah3
14th Jul 2009, 6:07 PM
I'm probably being really stupid but i have a few questions. Firstly you said we need to have a photo editing program and i was wondering if Photobucket would do? Also with the Ice Lagoon dresses do we need one of each dress or do we just choose 1 and finally do we need any writing with our application? What?

happyasabunny
14th Jul 2009, 6:27 PM
clw8 -Sim pose is a program that makes custom poses. It is very difficult and I feel as though it is unfair to use.

3hannah3- Your not stupid everyone has questions. Ok so photobucket is a place where post pictures. Um...for this mspaint will work, although it would be difficult. You can use free programs such as paint.net or gimp. Or there is photoshop which you must pay for.

Also you must write as if you are a model at a photoshoot and what you are experiencing. 3-4 sentences is ok. I will as this to the first post.

3hannah3
14th Jul 2009, 6:32 PM
Its just you can edit things on Photobucket but i'm not sure on the sort of thing you have to do in this contest so i don't know if i have the right stuff to do it?

happyasabunny
14th Jul 2009, 6:54 PM
Well, you have to take your sim out of one picture and put her in another. This won't be until round 2 so you have a little while.

Is the dress in the picture the one you want us to have our models wearing? Or just one of the three from the Ice Lagoon set? It wasn't clarified.

Hi, I'm Jessica Watson and I am a new and up coming model. I am picture perfect because I am not what you could consider pretty under any other circumstances.

http://i832.photobucket.com/albums/zz247/littlemissbubbles/p2.jpg
I love getting dressed up to take pictures. I felt so glamorous in this dress. The white background really shows off this dress and the dress makes my face look really pretty.

http://i832.photobucket.com/albums/zz247/littlemissbubbles/p3.jpg
I really like the old Hollywood style so, taking a picture with it in the background made me feel at home. I am such a girly girl and this picture really shows that. I love the crystals they are my favorite item out of everything at this photoshoot.

*raises hand* I'm down with SimPose!! It's really not THAT hard to learn, if you use your head, and it's so much better than seeing all those recycled pose box pictures...

<--- is planning to enter regardless, so I'm not just some lurker commenting on something I have no stake in.

Hello. My name is Freya Deardry. I'm a young woman who has just gotten into modeling as result of a new burst of confidence. I believe I'm picture perfect because I'm beautiful and for the first time in my life, I actually believe it.

http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/jj306/MadLib_2008/modeling/snapshot_576a2aa9_176a4a78.jpg

I just loved this dress. The sparkles made me feel glamorous and I love the blue color.

http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/jj306/MadLib_2008/modeling/snapshot_576a2aa9_176a5289.jpg

Before I got into modeling, I was a painter and I still do it today. My main goal is to spread to message to women and men that they are beautiful and they should embrace it.

Thank you Freelala! My game runs sooo slow, I find Simpose to be a much better option on certain photos! ;)
Anywho, onto my application. I had time tonight to do it. :)

Hello! My name is Rosalie Montebello. I've always dreamed of becoming a successful model since I was a young girl and I hope this is the perfect opportunity to make my dream come true. Growing up with seven other siblings, it was hard to pursue my dreams until I had finished college majoring in English Literature and having a minor in fashion design. While I may not be the most skilled model, I am a quick learner and I know I can achieve anything I set my mind to.

I believe I am picture perfect because I am original and determined and I have wanted to be a good role model--on the runway and off.

http://i230.photobucket.com/albums/ee75/doinker_chic/bodyshotFINAL.jpg
I felt so confident in this dress. The pretty sequins and the way it hugs my curves is enough to make any girl feel like a million simoleans!

http://i230.photobucket.com/albums/ee75/doinker_chic/freeshotappFINAL.jpg
I grew up living by the beach, so I have always had a love for the beach and swimming. Every chance I get, I go off to the beach and enjoy the rhythmic tides and beautiful view.

My name is Chirstina Richie and I am a 25 year old single mother. I have modeled on and off since I was a child, (it all started with beauty pageants), but once I had Toni things changed. I believe that I am picture perfect because even though I may have more responsibility in my life now, I still know how to commit myself and show responsible and note worthy behaviour on camera.
http://i377.photobucket.com/albums/oo218/depposbournefan/ScreenHunter_02Jul152018.jpg
I was under the impression I was to take all photos on a white background (sorry!), however if I would hadn't used white, then I would have shown myself in a magnificent library, reading. I adore getting caught up in a juicy romance novel or reading the latest kids picture book to my 4 year old son.
http://i377.photobucket.com/albums/oo218/depposbournefan/ScreenHunter_03Jul152024.jpg
This dress was quite the stunning piece. It was a little more fancy than I am used to, but I still had fun wearing it. It made me feel young and elegant instead of "just a mother who thinks she still has what it takes".

I have recently graduated from fashion school in France. I know the real beauty and power of clothes and modelling.

Headshot:

http://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h208/emilykitson/headshot.jpg
I loved taking zis head-shot, because the styling is immaculately me, Ze Great red lips and ebony hair, it reminds me of burlesque and Paris.

Bodyshot:
http://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h208/emilykitson/dress.jpg
Zis dress is just ick. Too... sparkly, but I wanted to work it and let my personality shine though - it demanded an editorial pose, and I believe I achieved that.

Freeshot:
http://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h208/emilykitson/breakfree.jpg
Zis shot from my portfolio was for Sexual Harrasment awareness, I think it is absolutely beautiful - great photographer and styling. It's very raw, and powerful.

I believe I am picture perfect because, I'm FIERCE and versatile AND I also has ze je ne cest quoi darling.

Hello, my names Emily Dawson. I'm a single mother of an eleven year-old and a model for the fashion company Maxis Style. I recently finished up a photo shoot and it was very fun... like always. The crew was great, the set was amazing and the dress was to die for.
http://i31.tinypic.com/308v1c0.png
One of my favorite headshots.. its plain and simple and my hair is going through my arm, so comfy...

The dress was part of a new line of silver and blue clothing called Ice Lagoon. I've seen the dresses that have been designed so far but this on is my favorite by far. It fits very well, tight in all the right places, and loose were it needs to be. The lights we used on the set were very fun. we had a disco ball going and we had a little disco party at wrap up. It was so funny when my daughter, Essi ran around dancing with everyone.
http://i31.tinypic.com/2ezgyzs.png
Told you the dress was to die for

This was the first time my daughter, Essi had ever been to a photo shoot. She had a great time. She helped the make-up lady with the models make-up by handing her all the brushes, and even got to be the directors assistant. She tells me she wants to be a photo shoot director when she grows up. The director said he would like to see Essi try out for one of the kids photo shoots. She couldn't be more excited.
http://i27.tinypic.com/2egea38.png
Me and my adorable daughter

I believe i'm picture perfect because i care about more than clothes. I wear the same outfit 2 days in a row if i cant wash it. I dont have any staff or anything and my daughter attends public school. Shes one of the least spoiled kids there. A lot of people think they can win anything with looks, thats just not true. Fashion doesn't make the world go round, and neither does money.

Hey there. My name is Margareth Skye and I started modelling not so long ago. What was my motivation to choose this pretty challenging carreer, you ask? Well, it was my mom. She said I was useless, so I'm here to prove her wrong.

http://i27.tinypic.com/2cp5f7c.jpg

This photoshoot was the best fun I've had in quite awhile. First I didn't feel really comfortable with all that glitter, but when the photographer complimented me on how that shade of blue matches my eyes, I got a boost of confidence and it was like child's play after that.

Happyasabunny,

Since this is all new to me (well at least animations is), I am still having issues with converting my snapshots to screen format so I can take them to photoshop and properly do them. I have already done 3 shoots...pictures are too small imo.

I am going to try and run Photoshop and Sims at the same time and if that doesn't work FRAPS and I will have to have a 'union' ;) (aka registration)!

Crossing my fingers tonight...I have already put too much work into this not to give you something :)

http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s68/freelancersims/Contests%20-%20S2C/rayahead2.jpg

I am picture perfect because I am a professional: I know my job is to sell a product, not uphold some warm and fuzzy ideal, and that's the attitude I bring to set. Whenever I'm in front of a camera, my goal is to give the photographer as many options as possible. I am constantly moving, giving them new and interesting angles every time they click the shutter, because after all, who wants to buy something you see on a boring model? This dress was nice because the reflective surface opened up so many options with light. Blue isn't really my color, but I like my job, so I keep my mouth shut and do as I'm told. They don't pay me for my opinion.

http://i288.photobucket.com/albums/ll176/HEART_shapedballoon/CoeurI-2.jpg

I'm a 22 year old model, and former Miss France. I live in my own home on the French riviera and I'm an avid musician and photographer. I began modeling a few months after I was runner up at the 2007 Miss Universe pageant, and it's quite enjoyable. However, although being a pageant queen is a big part of my life, it was a very expensive investment for myself and my mother, and at times more work than it was fun. Modeling, yes, seems no different, but unlike pageanting it becomes less stressful as soon as you get the hang of it, and skill and experience actually do pay off well in the end. Plus, being able to wear clothes and jewelry beyond your reach for a living, is pretty nice.

I'd like to be picture perfect, because it'd be a wonderful opportunity that would open so many more doors for me, which is a big leg up no model can never have enough of.

http://i288.photobucket.com/albums/ll176/HEART_shapedballoon/CoeurIII-2.jpg

Now like I mentioned in my introduction, I'm an avid musician. I play the piano, the violin, the cello, and I'm also perfecting my guitar skills thanks to my boyfriend, Leon.

Hey Happyasabunny!

I tried what you asked and it didn't work for some odd reason :( I am dissapointed but I do have some photos for you albeit they will not be as big and beautiful as the rest until I get a hang of this...FRAPS only seems to do Bitmap and my programs will not accept it...I have to register and tried that and then a whole pile of spam came on and shut down my 'puta!

If you do not like my app, that is okay...I'll understand. I am still new to all this. If anything it's a great learning experience!

Hello there!

My name is Svana Keogh. I am originally from Iceland and moved to Simville when my sister and I were only young girls. We originally moved to New York City so I could attend the National School of Ballet and now I practice as a professional Ballet dancer. My sister, Sari, is actually a model thanks to our trip to New York! She was discovered in New York by an Agency while working as a Barista at a local coffee shop. She should be in this contest but at only 16 years old, she didn't quite fit the bill.

We decided to move to Sim's because we had heard of the great atmosphere and diverse population! I am also studying botanicals and working on my Masters Degree at U of S while performing shows on weekends and several weeknights. I love dance. It is my life! It wasn't until I moved to The Sims that I discovered I had a greenthumb!

It was my sis who suggested this contest to me and said I really needed to 'come out of my shell' and show my creative essence and inner beauty. I never would consider myself as a person who is 'picture perfect', but as a whole, a picture can tell such a beautiful story with such breathtaking perspectives. It's all in the eye of the beholder and I certainly know it takes more than a person or a pretty site to make a picture 'perfect'.

Thank you for this oppurtunity. If I am chosen to be a contestant, I will work much harder at delivering more creativity and place strong attention to the detail in order to show you the side I know I can present to you.

As you requested:

Okay...now it is time for round 1. Angel of darkness or light? That is up to you to decide. You must take a picture of each one. Then write 2-3 sentences explaining how you felt as the model taking these photographs. Then choose which one you would rather be and explain why.

Round 1 is due July 27th so you have a little while.

hint:You might want to try lingerie.

Hey Happyasabunny!

Okay...Sorry I gave you too many photos. I love the ballet shot but I gave you all my shots essentially 'raw' (no editing) in order to see what would come of them (I suppose I am testing things myself as I go since this is my first time)...I do not care for the pixellation showing in the ballet shot so I will have to stick with the 'test shot' :)
I am aware that I cannot go back and fix it. It didn't appear that it was there before...I will be more careful as of now.

Thanks so much!!!

Moldova:Thank you so much for your kind comments :) Oh and not a problem with calling me MissMichelle--MM is fine as well! I have only been on one other forum before and MissMichelle was my moniker...everyone just called me MM or MissM...I am not fussy ;)

Angel of Dark
http://i377.photobucket.com/albums/oo218/depposbournefan/ScreenHunter_01Jul201806-1.jpg
Taking this picture put me out of my comfort zone at first. I'm not one to wear such dark colors and the amount of candles around me made me afraid to move - much less breathe. However, I think that the shot came out better than expected.

Angel of Light
http://i377.photobucket.com/albums/oo218/depposbournefan/ScreenHunter_02Jul201826-1.jpg
The set for this photograph was much more cheerfull and I really enjoyed it. The clothing and makeup was much more plain, which I really liked.
----
I enjoyed the posing and set for the Angel of Light the most, but I like the end results of the Angel of Dark more. So, if you ask me which is my favorite, then I'd have to say a little of both, actually.

Not to answer for Happyasabunny, but it was my impression we could use whatever background that fit the theme of our image. ;) At least that is what I am doing!
And that looks really nice Clw8. I like the candles!

Yeah Moldova is a life saver!

I have finally figured out how to use the screen capture with my Photoshop!!!!!! (..and as much as a fracking idiot I am, no, it was not figuring out where the button was)!! [email protected]! It was very simple but something I would have never known to do without this site. The Help section is incredibly amazing!

WOOOOOO-HOOOOOOOOO!!!!!

I was so worried I was going to be eliminated or have to drop out! It has been so much fun playing around with. I worked on my light angel most of last night. I am still not happy with the final shot though...It's a work in progress!

Yeah, this is so much fun! Thanks Happyasabunny for making this contest! I have learned a lot in the past week or so! :)

Glad it is working! When I did Picture Perfect Cycle 1 I learned so much within the first 1st and 2nd round. Being in this contest gives me and I am sure others to exercise our new methods of making images and help others learn new techniques. :)

I worked on my Dark Angel last night and this morning. I am doing the Angel of Light now which is acutally harder. I am used to making darker, gothic sims. I am having trouble drawing the hair to my liking.

22nd Jul 2009, 8:42 PM
Today is a day where I go to both sides of the spectrum from Nice to Evil. The first part of the photoshoot was for the "Fallen Angel". In this picture I am sitting in an alleyway with a candle that a hobo gave to me. It is late at night and I am scared and alone. I was not used to dressing up in a gothic fashion. It was weird at first but I got the hang of it and I felt beautiful even in this outfit which I never expected.

http://i832.photobucket.com/albums/zz247/littlemissbubbles/pr1.jpg

The second part of the photoshoot was about a girl that just entered into heaven. She just got her wings and is sitting next to some white candles and the sky is gold. I am normally a girly-girl so this was really normal to me. I looked at the picture and I couldn't believe how good I looked. I was amazed.

http://i832.photobucket.com/albums/zz247/littlemissbubbles/pr2.jpg

If I had to choose which one I would rather be I would be the angel of light because at least I am not afraid or alone.

Today I went to photoshoot with theme of good and evil.

http://i654.photobucket.com/albums/uu264/mitzymoo589/DarkAngel.jpg

I hated doing this shot even though I look alright in the photo, I was actually extremely embaressed and I was probably going red underneath the foundation. I hate this picture so much and I know for certain modelling underwear is definetly not for me.

http://i654.photobucket.com/albums/uu264/mitzymoo589/snapshot_37708326_d7739a85.jpg

This picture felt a lot more better. Its not in underwear and it was more relaxing because I was just walking not posing all over a bed.

Overall I prefer the second picture because I didn't feel embarresed and it was so relaxed however on the first picture I learn't that posing in underwear is not for me.

Zis shoot was absolutely AMAHZING! They put me in a harness and cable and ze breif the photographer gave me for my Angel Of Darkness was to be ferocious and to swoop like I was attacking my prey. Ze stylists, make-up artists and hairdressers should be applauded, they did such a phenomnel job of transforming me into this dark vixen. I felt tre tre sexy, almost like a super villian!

Next was the Angel of Light. Off with the dark make-up, in with a blonde wig! I looked so strange, But I kinda liked it. I was told to jump across the camera and to be innocent and fresh. It took me a few shots to get a good pose, but ze photographer said I nailed it in the end.

Ze final photograph blew my mind! And when poised with ze question if I'd rather be an Angel of Light or Darkness, I must simple remark that while I might look innocent, black is definetly more my colour ;).

Angel of Light
I enjoyed modeling as the Angel of Light but I found it to be easy. I did feel pretty and feminine posing for this photo shoot though. It was fun to appear light and angelic. The dress was fun to wear, it was so elegant!

Angel of Darkness
I liked posing as the Angel of Darkness better probably because it was different. I found this to much more difficult. I was nervous to even attempt to look furious and evil, but I think I pulled it off. I liked the make-up better in this picture. It was more dramatic and it was something I wouldn't normally wear publicly.

So, between being the sweet, heavenly Angel of Light or the evil, intimidating Angel of Darkness, I'd have to choose the Angel of Darkness. It was the more challenging photo shoot of the two.

Freelala

Angel of Light

For this picture, we were shooting for tranquility. I thought the decision to set the picture at night was an interesting one - after all, you usually associate angels of light with, well, light - but when I saw the finished product, I knew the artistic director knew what he was talking about. I loved floating in the air and having my hair so free and flowing. Some photoshoots can be so stressful, but this one was relaxing from start to finish.

http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s68/freelancersims/Contests%20-%20S2C/lightpreview-1.jpg (http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s68/freelancersims/Contests%20-%20S2C/lightangel.jpg)

Angel of Darkness

Now this was something else. From the moment I walked onto the macabre set, I knew this was going to be like no picture I'd ever taken before. I wanted to look fearsome, but also vulnerable, as if the realization of the price paid to walk the path of darkness is setting in. It looks bad now, but the angel knows the worst is still to come.

(warning: tis a bit intense)
http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s68/freelancersims/Contests%20-%20S2C/darkpreview.jpg (http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s68/freelancersims/Contests%20-%20S2C/darkangel2.jpg)

----

Without a doubt, I enjoyed the Darkness photoshoot more, and that's the one I'd prefer to be in pictures, but if we're talking about our souls here, I will walk the path of Light. It's fun to pretend, but at the end of the day, I am who I am, and I embrace it.

Ahh thanks MissM! I felt pretty confident until Freelala over here posted her entry. My confidence now? Ehh not so high. ;)

And what I did was I made a picture of the link, saying Angel of Light (and Darkness) and I then linked that title image to the actual image using this code:

The code above is the link to your entry. Directly next to this code, you'll paste your regular image code of your BUTTON image, like so:

ANGEL OF LIGHT

I loved doing the Angel of Light shoot! We drove out to this beautiful park north of the city to get this shot. I felt a little nervous at first but once I was in my dress which was a designer gown borrowed from a fashion magazine,(I felt so honoured!) and then they attached these massive white feathered wings to me, it just seemed that I fell into the part. I had no idea that they intended to edit the picture into this gorgeous 'Winter Wonderland' theme, but I adore the final cut and I can't believe that's me!

http://i632.photobucket.com/albums/uu45/MissMichelle_JoanofSpark/SVANA-ANGEL-LIGHT_1-1.jpg

ANGEL OF DARKNESS

I was very apprehensive about this entire shoot to say the least! We re-did the shoot four times in two different locations with three different looks! In the final shot, I am donning this awesome black wig and I am trying to imagine that I am a true Angel of Darkness awaiting my 'evil plan' to run its course! I was very impressed with the final result. We may not have shot it on an elaborate set like the photographer had hoped, but I think it's a great shot nonetheless and I would never dream that the woman in that photo is actually me ! I must say, they have some very talented makeup artists!

http://i632.photobucket.com/albums/uu45/MissMichelle_JoanofSpark/Svana_AngelofDark.jpg

It seems so very difficult to choose one photo of the two considering they are both on extreme ends of the same spectrum. As much as I love the Angel of Darkness, I am going to have to say I prefer the photo of myself as the Angel of Light. I can only be honest and say that the final shot reminds me of my homeland and it's just so incredibly serene. It was a really tough choice!

This photoshoot was very moving for me. I was able to show the light and dark angel within me that, I believe, dwells in everybody. When I became the dark angel, I began thinking about the person I used to be and how I didn't believe in myself. But then, when I became the light angel, I felt empowered and confident, because the dark angel is no longer who I am. I believe I am definitely the light angel, because I've been the dark angel at one point, and I have definitely persevered.

I love what you did for your Round 1! It's very cool! I was thinking of doing something similar with a mirror...Having still 2 shots but both identical except for the angel of light would be looking into the mirror and seeing the Angel of Darkness and vice versa for the other shot...I found I am not that experienced yet so I stuck with what I knew...I am learning a lot with Photoshop...

Happyasabunny I am so glad you like my Angel of Light! :) Thanks! :)

So, this time I had to pose as if in a field of beautiful flowers. Here is what happened:

http://i377.photobucket.com/albums/oo218/depposbournefan/sideflower.jpg
This picture, first off, turned out to be absolutely fabulous; I love it! The outfit was so cute and simple, and this pose was ultra easy to master. Overall I am very, very, very proud of this picture's end result.

http://i377.photobucket.com/albums/oo218/depposbournefan/topdownflower.jpg
My dear, beautiful hair was eventually sacraficed for this picture, and it was well worth it! This shot is like a saturday morning: so warm and relaxing.

As you can see, I had a blast. My favorite shot, by not much, was definately the first one, just incase you ever wonder!

Ze idea in this shoot was to pose with flowers. I was put in ze most amazing gown with a floral motif and placed in a field of beautiful red, purple and white flowers. Ze photographer told me to be a 'relaxed regal' and I really went with it. Ze shot turned out far more lovely than I could have ever imagined!

My second shot is my favourite of the two. Zere is something so liberating about being naked az ze day I was born lying in a gorgeous scented arrange of flowers. It was a challenge to get a shot that looked innocent rather zan hoochie, but in the end I am amazed at ze photograph.

Oh, I get it...I was wondering what on earth this was...why did our scores change...and then I realised...aha! The other judge! haha!

Thanks guys! :)

Good job Moldova!!

Good job everyone! I am not surprised I scored low on my application...I just learned where my 'power' button was on my computer the previous week ;)

And yes, I write a lot...2-3 sentences...that's tough! I will keep that in mind for round 2! For some reason I did not take the 'write 2-3 sentences' literally. I suppose I am used to having to write...while at school, if a prof says: 'Oh just write a few sentences to describe a motive or such', it usually means 'just don't write an essay' and a paragraph will suffice. I feel silly! lol!

Still :new: !!!!

Hi everyone,

After speaking with Happyasabunny, it is regretful that I have decided to not continue on with the competition.

I have been struggling with a lot of computer problems and I feel that although I may be capable of doing this, it's all so new to me, it takes me so much time to complete the pictures...time I am realising I do not have atm.

I wanted to let everyone know that it has been a pleasure to 'meet' you all and I will continue to view the competition if no one has any issues with that.

Once I feel I am more familiar with things...and that my computer starts to be my friend, I will be back.

Thanks everyone for your help, especially Moldova who gave me a lot of tips and hints to get me started off in the right direction (I really appreciated that so much, thank you!)...I look forward to seeing the rest of the contest and wish you all the best of luck!

You all have such unique styles!

I'll be here, watching on the sidelines...Oh, and I just learned today WTH a polygonal lasso did! Hahaha! Great for straight lines...I can see why there was a concern with using it in this project! ;)

Cheers everyone!

Sincerely,

Michelle (aka MissMichelle )

(oh and my floral projects were going to be period pieces...Here's the initial set ups of my pics...I don't know who else would be interested so I thought I'd at least show you guys :) ! )

Here's Svana in her Victorian theme 'alpha' stage..wanted to embed her in the flowers and extract some of them to actually look taller to seem she was in a bed of flowers.

http://i632.photobucket.com/albums/uu45/MissMichelle_JoanofSpark/SvanaVictcopy_02copy-2.jpg

The other one I just started on and it was Svana '60's Mod' style. I wanted to recolor wallpaper, curtains and a cushion in the pattern using different sizes of the pattern (in the same color ofcourse)...That would have taken me a month!!! haha!

I cannot locate a snapshot...I have so many pictures and didn't save it under a name because I was going to take more shots. She was wearing this Black and White Assymetrical 60's style short dress with white go-go boots and had a very sharp looking blonde bob...I usually recolor and do my own makeup and wasn't quite sure what I was going to do but I did download these awesome fashion lashes that were white and silver...massive, MASSIVE lashes from SironaSims I believe...They were spectacular!

Anyhow, thanks for listening...Good luck everyone! Hope to see you around!

Just wanted to say that this is my first time attempting at "franking" my sim. I drew the hair with a different technique too so we'll see how it pays off--or if it does at all! :p

http://i230.photobucket.com/albums/ee75/doinker_chic/Divider.png

Today I was told I would be doing a photo shoot for Victoria's Secret's new Wonder Bra and Panties. I was apprehensive, since I had never done a photos shoot for undies before but I reasoned it couldn't be much different than wearing a bathing suit. The way they styled my hair made me feel so free and sexy.

http://i230.photobucket.com/albums/ee75/doinker_chic/Click1.png (http://i230.photobucket.com/albums/ee75/doinker_chic/FlowerRoundFinal1copy.jpg)
The first image is my favorite of the two. The photographer told me to "give him sexy!" and I think I achieved that in this picture. I liked that I was able to lie back and feel the soft petals against my skin. I felt free and relaxed.

http://i230.photobucket.com/albums/ee75/doinker_chic/Click2.png (http://i230.photobucket.com/albums/ee75/doinker_chic/FlowerRoundFinal2copy.jpg)
For this picture, the photographer told me to act a little coy and flirtatious as well as feeling calm because I was surrounded by sweet-smelling flowers. He said he wanted a casual, laid-back pose and I think I did what he asked for in this picture.

Out of the two, the first one was my favorite since I got to expose my sexy and feminine side. This photo shoot was challenging since it was just me and the flowers with nothing else to work off from. But all in all, it was a great time, being one with nature.

Yes, I must agree! Beautiful pics Moldova!!!

Happyasabunny, I hope you don't mind if I still make comments and watch the competition?!

Franking I am assuming is what you were refering to as 'Frankensteining' in the application? Is that what the first link was about, where you actually take apart your sim and 'cut and paste' (so to speak) different limb orientations?

That looks like it would take a long time...but the outcome is really cool.

Moldova, in your first pic, how did you get your model to make her hand look as though she was making a partial fist or as though she could have also had the option to hold something? I have all these umbrellas and I haven't a clue?

Sorry...I will refer to tutorials again...I just have an attention problem so I often will start one thing and see something else, then forget about my intial goal...I am an official 'post-it-note-gal'..They are everywhere!

Lovely work!!!!

This time around, we decided to take our two sets, which were similar in feel, and turn them into final products that were drastically different. What started out as a great idea quickly became disastrous - turns out I was extremely allergic to the flowers! Unfortunately, backing out of the photoshoot wasn't an option. All I needed was a little Benadryl and I'd be good to go...

The first picture was the calm - or, at least, that's the feeling we were trying to convey. The truth was quite different. We were only able to get a few frames at a time before the sneezing, runny nose, and watery eyes would make their return. If ever there was a day where the makeup artist earned her keep, it was this one. Near the end, the extra dose of Benadryl started to kick in, and with enough of our ideal natural light left, we were able to get the picture you see below.

http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s68/freelancersims/Contests%20-%20S2C/f1preview.jpg (http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s68/freelancersims/Contests%20-%20S2C/flowers1full.jpg)

The second picture was the storm, and by the time we got this far, I was so doped up on antihistamines that all I wanted to do was take a nap. You'd think we could have done this picture first and then the calm one, but nooo, the lighting was all wrong earlier in the day and we had to do this one at this time or we would lose our window. The effects team came in and created a great mood with artificial wind and rain that I would have undoubtedly appreciated in any state of semi-awareness. After the first twenty frames, which I was later told consisted of me looking around in wonder and babbling incoherently in some pidgin combination of Farsi and English, the creative director handed me a big stick and said, "Raya, hold this and fall down." And... voila.

http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s68/freelancersims/Contests%20-%20S2C/f2preview.jpg (http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s68/freelancersims/Contests%20-%20S2C/flowers2.gif)

This experience was one I will never forget for the ironic fact that I can't remember half of it, thanks to the allergy medication. As for which photo I enjoyed more... well, remember how in The Naked Jungle, Charlton Heston had to pour oil on himself to repel the ants destroying his character's plantation? The "oil" was actually syrup, and it attracted every insect within miles. That was how I felt in first picture, trying to convey a portrait of serenity amongst the very thing that was causing me agony in the first place. My memory of the second picture is hazy at best, but at least my face was no longer leaking, and from what I understand, everyone got a good laugh out of it. All in a day's work.

FREELALA! WHY!? No it is I that is envious. Did you frank those pics? And her facial expression is stunning! :faceslap: I love the falling rain. I am not familiar with animations yet.

MissM - I believe for that part with her hand in the fist I made her dance Shimmying Down. Feel free to cut it out and experiment with it. I don't know if it helps but here is the image I took for that part of the hand. Like I said, do what you want with it. :)

This time the photographers decided to do a photoshoot outside on a bed of flowers. I have never done photoshoot outside so it was different experience. Luckily it was sunny and there was no wind unlike our usual weather.

http://i654.photobucket.com/albums/uu264/mitzymoo589/f1.jpg

This is probably the most enjoyable photo out of all the photoshoots I have ever done because it is so simple but that has let it down because it doesn't look so good.

http://i654.photobucket.com/albums/uu264/mitzymoo589/f2.jpg

I really like the outcome of this photo because it shows raw emotion. This one had a more complex pose but the editing was a lot more simpler. Out of the two photos the second one was the best.

Freelala
1st Aug 2009, 11:38 PM
Thanks Moldova! The animation is actually pretty simple. If you're interested in it, I wrote a tutorial on my method a few years ago that can be found here (http://freelala-sims.livejournal.com/5420.html#cutid1). :) There was a bit of franking in the pics, but it's minimal - the lower right leg in the first shot and the face in the second. I likes me some in-game, hack-free poses. :bunny: And my flickr username is spaceyphysicist, by the way. :) I barely update anymore, though. I'm long past my prime when it comes to sims creativity.

Mitzy, cool pics! I really like the second. :) The black and white is a great touch.

I'm so sorry, happyasabunny, but I'm gonna have to drop out. I got to go on a last-minute trip and I tried to do the round on the road, but it's just becoming too much of a hassle. Thank you so much to the creator and judges! Good luck, competitors! You guys are all so talented!

MadLib!!!! I am so sorry!! Hmmm, we should join forces and perhaps we will get our projects done in time...maybe your computer works better than mine? lol!

Freelala, I don't know, but I think Moldova said it already! Impeccable work!

Mitzy I love the way the 2 pictures are such a contrast from one another, what a fabulous idea!!!

Beautiful work everyone!!

Freelala, what Photoshop version are you using by the way...I checked out your link you gave out to Moldova and although I pretty much have all that on my Photoshop, it would appear that it is a more advanced program...I only have PS 6.0

Thank you so much Freelala! When I come home from mass I will dive into this "painfully easy" tutorial. ;) I skimmed through and the ogre/onion analogy made me laugh. :p

And no problem MissM. I hope the arm helps. ;)
And FYI, I checked the program that MissM and I have been using, Adobe Elements 6, and it doesn't have the animation thingy. (lol) Time to get a free trial off of Adobe! :anime:

This photoshoot wasn't really different for me because I am a girly girl by all means. Flowers though are my worst enemy. They make me get hives all over. I knew that I was going to do this photoshoot a week in advance but, the doctor couldn't get me in. When the day came I knew that I was in for an itchy mess but, I decided that I can't cancel on this photoshoot so I must go.

The first shot was taken in the morning so they could get an early glow. I told them about the problem and they said don't worry that's what makeup is for. As soon as I lied down I started itching. I didn't want to touch it but, I would move to itch it. They told me I looked like I was twitching. They told me to think about a serene place where nothing was wrong. After about 20 minutes they told me to get up because I got the shot.

http://i832.photobucket.com/albums/zz247/littlemissbubbles/f1.jpg

I loved my face in this picture I looked so happy.

This picture they made we stare off into space. The outfit was very uncomfortable as well. The outfit made me itch even more than I did before. So staring off into space is what I do best. I learned that from how I did in school. With in 10 minutes they had the shot I was so excited.

http://i832.photobucket.com/albums/zz247/littlemissbubbles/f2.jpg

I think my favorite is the first one. I really love the serene look that I have.

Good job everyone. Judges can you start judging now? I really need you to judge round 1 and round 2. Please judge them on what you judged them on before. Please make sure also you look at my previous post with scores to see if your missing judging any scores. Thanks for your help. PS please don't start judging round 2 until at least tonight at midnight GMT -4.

Round 3 has now started. This time you are a fairy that just lost her way from home and is now trying to survive. Please don't make her look as if she is perfectly clean and has only been in the wilderness for 1 hour.

Two pictures for each round.
Due august 13th so judges please be on top of things.
Contestants if you can make them asap so we can hopefully get judging done in time.

Round 3

This photoshoot was all about being a fairy lost in the wilderness. I was supposed to be lost for a week. They put dirt all over my face and put me in very skimpy clothing. The clothing made me feel very vulnerable, which was the look I was going for as well.

The first shot I was laying down trying to fall asleep on the ground. The ground was actually very squishy so I could have fallen asleep. I thought about my mom who had died a week before this photoshoot. I thought about how alone I really was without her. It took only 5 shots and they said that they had gotten the shot that they needed.

http://i832.photobucket.com/albums/zz247/littlemissbubbles/2b.jpg

The next shot was of me sitting on a flower next to a butterfly. I was also, told to feel alone and like no one wanted me in this picture. I feel as I achieved this one.

http://i832.photobucket.com/albums/zz247/littlemissbubbles/1a.jpg
If I had to choose one that I liked more I would choose the first one because I look more alone.

Round 4

This photoshoot I was doing an advertisement for a company called Beautiful Sims, BS for short. They wanted me to show off their new line of lipstick and mascara.

This first shot of me was in front of a very old Japanese picture. They had me look interested and they had me use my hand to draw attention to my face.

http://i832.photobucket.com/albums/zz247/littlemissbubbles/1.jpg

The next shot was supposed to be like a magazine spread. They had me smile and wear a blonde wig. I have never been a blonde so it felt cool to change up my look for a day.

http://i832.photobucket.com/albums/zz247/littlemissbubbles/2.jpg

If I had to choose which one I liked more I would choose the second one..I don't know why..I just like it more.

I made some small jokes in these pictures.
I wrote the writing like I did in the other rounds. If that isn't what you wanted then, I will change it.

Round 3

For this round I was to be a little lost fairy . . . oh what fun!
http://i377.photobucket.com/albums/oo218/depposbournefan/fairie1.jpg
The outfits were gorgeous and the set was drop dead beautiful. Kinda hard at first to act as a damaged fairy who was all but forgotten about. Scuffed up makeup and tangled hair went perfect for this lonsome picture.

http://i377.photobucket.com/albums/oo218/depposbournefan/fairie2.jpg
Oh wait . . . is there someone there to rescue me. . . . No. I continue my journey through the magnificent forest. Wouldn't I just love to get lost in this lushous set for a bit!

What great captures. My most favourite set yet!

----
----

Round 4

This round was all about the face.
http://i377.photobucket.com/albums/oo218/depposbournefan/ad1.jpg
Work the eyes girl, work the eyes. Going out on a limb, the photographer captured most of my face in a daring angle. Could have been nicer, but the ad was pretty - - - I'd buy it!

http://i377.photobucket.com/albums/oo218/depposbournefan/ad2.jpg
Not sure how I really feel about this one. The quality bugs me, but we were all tired from a days work, and the shot gave what it was suppose to.

Ok, so maybe Japanese ads aren't my strong points!

Okay! I have decided on 9 Colours, 1 of them is a Special one

The colours are: Fuschia, Turquoise, Tangerine, Lemon, Cherry, BlueBerry, Liquorice, ApplePie (Green and Brown) and the Special Dress is white, with a Sash saying "Winner"

Only the winner of this competition will Have this set of dresses. I'm not going to put these up anywere else for Download.

Also, the reason the Winner Dress is obviously a BodyShop Shot is because it is 1:47 am right now in Ireland and I dont wanna start up the Sims this late.

Good Luck to everyone and also, I hope that the winner will do a few shots in one of the dresses when this is over!

That's a shame Happyasabunny! I would have loved to have helped out. I may be new at Graphics anim, but I am an artist and I have a really good eye. My ex was a graphic's animator. I was accustomed to judging work because he used to always send me his work and ask for my opinion. I was blessed with a good eye. I am also really into photography...Maybe next time? If you still need an extra unbiased very objective judge, I would be more than happy to help.

Hahah! Thanks Moldova,

I was just thinking I don't know how 'fair' having only 2 judges will be. Is there any way to retrieve the old judges and give them a strict deadline and specific time that their scores be in so the contestants aren't always needing to ask when their scores will be posted?

That might work better so everyone is on the same page...Just a suggestion Happyasabunny :)

Zis waz a very dark photoshoot, a complete contrast from ze previous round. I waz to be a lost, lonely springtime fairy. It waz like a... grim fairytale. When I looked in ze mirror after styling I waz shocked! I thought it would be hard to rock zis look, but ze photographer really helped when he told me to look 'Uglypretty not pretty ugly'. In ze end I really felt like I achieved what was the expectation.

___________________________________________________________

http://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h208/emilykitson/round4.jpg

I waz very excited and humbled when I waz told I would be doing makeup adverts for a japanese company. I have been to Japan before and I absolutely love ze culture, atmosphere and unique fashion. I waz a little worried az I believe my look iz more editorial, but I waz excited to show some diversity and proceeded with a positive attitude.

http://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h208/emilykitson/lashes.jpg

Ze mascara advert waz difficult to shoot. I had zese thick black extensions and had to lie down, making sure my movements were very subtle. Ze final shot was strong, and I waz happy with ze result.

http://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h208/emilykitson/lipstick.jpg

I feel in love with ze lipstick advert! I waz inspired by ze modern purple lipstick and my beautiful Tokyo background. It waz a bit nerveracking standing in ze middle of a crowded street, but it gave me ze power to let my confidence shine through & Ze final shot was tre magnifique!

Hey Moldova!

I do things a bit differently. I am glad you approve! I just wanted everyone to know that they are all doing well. I know myself and by only seeing the points, it can be hard to tell how well you are doing or where you are at.

I just thought it might be a little more encouraging to let everyone know!

Again, if anyone has any questions, please feel free to PM me. I am very open minded. I put a lot of thought into the judging but I am always open to others' persepctives.

I am going to be judging the 3&4 (the ones that are done) this evening to keep up to speed.

Obviously the scores won't be up until after the contest. I am just happy to help :)

I tried experimenting with photo shop animations and I am pretty proud of my little clickies. Let me know if they get annoying, I can replace them with the non-moving pics. ;) I had a hard time finding the backgrounds for this round, since I wanted to show the wilderness and not just a close frame-to-frame bodyshot. But I think I found some snazzy ones in the end.

http://i230.photobucket.com/albums/ee75/doinker_chic/Divider.png
I found this photoshoot to be one of the hardest I have ever experienced. The creative director wanted me to look alone, despaired and hopeless. I had to demonstrate raw emotions and I found it difficult to put myself in that mode. The photographer told me to think of something that made me very upset, so I thought of the day my mother died of breast cancer. It was only a matter of minutes of thinking before the tears began to flow.

http://img20.imageshack.us/img20/7016/imageone.gif (http://img194.imageshack.us/img194/579/fairyfinal2copy.png)
It was thinking of my mother and all the suffering she silently went through that helped me achieve these two images. I wanted to do well in this photoshoot so I wanted my tears to be real tears, not some bottled up formula that gave the fake impression of sadness. I felt, and still do feel, that if you are tying to portray a strong emotion in a picture, it should be done realistically, and if that means changing my mood to fit into the theme, then I'll do it and I think I did in this particular photoshoot.

http://img524.imageshack.us/img524/8415/imagetwo.gif (http://img190.imageshack.us/img190/1120/fairfinal1copy.png)
This is my favorite image out of the two. I was just so overcome with emotions that I let go of all my anxiety and just worked my body without even thinking. The creative director and photographer said that a true model can let go of her nervousness and just absorb into the theme of the photoshoot. They said they were proud of the images, and I know my mother would be too.

*Round 4 to come soon*

Round 3
This was such a beautiful photo shoot! I swear this is every girl's dream. I was a fairy lost in an enchanted forest, startled by such small things like the birds chirping or some raindrops splashing in the lake.

http://i28.tinypic.com/11hz4g0.jpg (http://i32.tinypic.com/2d0cak3.jpg)

The settings and the makeup were stunning, and made me feel frail, innocent and beatiful. I didn't have to play a role at all.
I like the first photo more, in case you're interested. It's much softer and warmer.

Round 4

Now that's what I call being thrown in at the deep end! Half an hour after getting off my plane to Japan, I was already under the hands of the make-up lady. I was tired and found it hard to concentrate, but I'm still pleased with the results.

Just wanted to put this out so judges see my reasoning and such. ;) I wanted this advertisement to be different than the normal by, instead of having my model in a modern, present-day advertisement, she is modeling for a collection of classic and oriental make up. Most make ups in Japan are funky and fashionable and many of the traditional ideas are long forgotten so I wanted to bring that back. :)
Also, as you can see I did a few more animations because I was feeling creative. If some computers having trouble loading because of it, let me know I can replace them with 'un-animated' imges. ;)

http://i230.photobucket.com/albums/ee75/doinker_chic/Divider.png
This morning I was called to do a photoshoot advertising Cover's Girl's new Japanese make up brand titled "Oriental Mystique Collection." The point of this shoot was to sell the product while looking classy and traditional. The key was to avoid looking sexy and to aim for elegant and historic.

http://img26.imageshack.us/img26/6430/chineseimageone.gif (http://img269.imageshack.us/img269/1365/chineseadvertisment1.jpg)

I was to do two pictures, the first one being a lipstick ad. I loved doing this ad because I really felt powerful and soft and feminine too. The colors were beautifully designed. To stick to the oriental theme, my hair was designed to mimic those styles of the ancient Japanese woman so a Japanese hairdresser did my hair. Every strand of hair was carefully positioned and I marveled at her patience.

http://img20.imageshack.us/img20/5021/chineseimagetwo.gif (http://img30.imageshack.us/img30/9175/chineseadvertisment2.png)

The second advertisement was all about the eyes! Pale lips and pulled back traditional hair allowed the mascara to be in view of the camera. The photographer wanted little eye contact. He wanted me to convey mystery in my eyes hence the word "mystique" as the title of the collection.

I believe I did this photoshoot well. It was a thrill to do and I loved the historic theme. This was my first time doing a beauty ad/photoshoot so let's hope I did it justice!

さようなら!
(good bye!)

P.S. The words on the side that I added in both images in Japanese say "Easy Breezy Beautiful Cover Girl." :)

ROUND THREE

The fairy-themed photoshoot went over quite well, but of course, after my flower-induced allergy attack last time, I'd probably say that about anything. I loved the nitty-gritty, back-to-basics nature of these two pictures. Plant life, when it's not exhuming that menace known as pollen, is quite delightful!

This was my favorite of the two. All the elements from the setting to the makeup to the effects came together to convey the survival instinct in its purest form. Also, they let me keep the knife.

http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s68/freelancersims/Contests%20-%20S2C/fairy1preview.jpg (http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s68/freelancersims/Contests%20-%20S2C/fairy1.jpg)

This one was more tranquil in appearance, but for me, it was still powerful. I am free in nature, but also completely alone. I like to think this is what my fairy self was doing the day after fighting for her life in the previous picture.

http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s68/freelancersims/Contests%20-%20S2C/fairy2preview.jpg (http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s68/freelancersims/Contests%20-%20S2C/fairy2.jpg)

-----------------

ROUND FOUR

The makeup ads were a refreshing change for me; I usually don't do commercial. I was a little wary at first, especially because a company likes "approachability" in a model they hire for commercials, and my agent said that isn't exactly my strong suit. Honestly, one time you break a photographer's nose because he grabbed your butt, and suddenly you're considered "not approachable" for the rest of your career. :wtf:

The first one, hands-down, was my favorite. I love orange, and also, LOOK at that guy! He's totally hot! There was no faking that chemistry. And he gave me his phone number! I win at everything forever.

Oh, wait, I'm advertising. I mean, I never could have gotten the guy without my perfect lip shade! And actually, that's true, because we wouldn't have met if not for this photoshoot.

http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s68/freelancersims/Contests%20-%20S2C/makeup1preview.jpg (http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s68/freelancersims/Contests%20-%20S2C/makeup1.jpg)

The aforementioned gorgeous male model may have been absent in this picture, but he was watching from the sidelines, so that made doing the happy-and-approachable look a lot easier for me. I liked the final product. It was sweet and simple - everything I'm not! Ha!

http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s68/freelancersims/Contests%20-%20S2C/makeup2preview.jpg (http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s68/freelancersims/Contests%20-%20S2C/makeup2.jpg)

Round 3

This time I had to dress up as a beautiful fairy and pretend to be lost in a forest.

http://i654.photobucket.com/albums/uu264/mitzymoo589/snapshot_37708326_778e00ec.jpg

This image shows my needs slowly dropping and how I'm coping with it. Obviously it wasn't very well.

http://i654.photobucket.com/albums/uu264/mitzymoo589/snapshot_37708326_b78e0253.jpg

This one shows how lonely I am. Out of the two photos I prefer this one because it shows how alone I am and the fact that I'm cut off from every one.

Round 4

Yesterday I went to a photoshoot for two Japanese adverts. One was advertising lipstick and the other was mascara.

http://i654.photobucket.com/albums/uu264/mitzymoo589/MakeupAd1.png

We were originally going to put my hair in a bun for this commercial but once I saw all the other styles that I might have I chose the braid because it was elegant and went well in the picture.

http://i654.photobucket.com/albums/uu264/mitzymoo589/MakeupAd2.png

For this one I stood in front of a white screen and did lots of poses. I ended up doing 15 because the photographer couldn't decide. This didn't go down very well with me especially when they were uncomfortble but I think the outcome looks nice and the pose shows how I enjoyed wearing the mascara. I can't decide which one is my favourite since they are both nice in their own way. I enjoyed doing this photoshoot. Now I want to work for a Japanese modelling company :giggler:

The reason I gave you 9/10 in the Rules is because you recoloured the lipstick thats all. Seriously, Bravo on this! Also I love how you use that accent!

Great Work MitzyMoo! You have come a long way in such a short period of time...I wish we could award you something for that! For someone who just began doing this less than a month ago, you have learned so much...I am sure you must be very proud! I was so happy to see your rounds 3 & 4!

In 6 months, I think you'll be dropping jaws!

I am very pleased for you! :)

Everyone really did some great work for the last rounds!

Comments: Your pictures were very stunning! I am sure you are wondering why I might have taken off some marks in the 'following of rules' department for the first picture..As much as I love the picture, it does not seem to mesh with the theme of a lipstick advert nor did it seem 'Japanese' imo...Her dress appeared to be more Indian from what I know. Also, the picture reminded me more of a movie poster than a lipstick ad to be perfectly honest. The second picture worked a lot better but still be careful to remember when you are doing a picture for an ad, to make whatever you are selling the 'focal point'. Great pictures! I would just suggest researching your subject a little better beforehand. It's been a pleasure as always getting to see your work :)

Comments: I really liked these. They were really pretty ads. I liked that in your first shot, the emphasis was 'the lips'. That's a great pose! I also liked that you took a risk and made your model blond for your second shot. It's not uncommon for Japanese beauty ads to actually have their ads come directly from the United Stated (or other high fashion countries) and then to translate it in Japanese. Good work!

Miss Michelle - Thanks for the comment. I think I should have zoomed in on the fairy pictures but when I did the trees faded away which really bugged me. Now that I think about it could have took a photo of her in front of a white background and edited it but that's too late now :(

Moldova...I didn't provide any comments for rounds 3 and 4. So I hope your not to disappointed about that. My dog passed away yesterday and I just was not in the mood to make comments. So if any of you have any questions about your scores, you are more than welcome to pm me and I will get back to you as soon as I can.
