View Full Version : Permanent Fire Damage

I was testing out a house that I made to make sure everything was okay. At one point the house caught on fire and I extinguished the flames. Now some reason the floor has been permanently charred. There's some brown dirt substance everywhere where the flames were and I can't get rid of them.

I tried removing the tiles, but then they just appeared under the tiles. I tried placing new tiles over the spots, but the stuff would appear over the tile as well. I also tried to remove the tiles and use the terrain editor to erase the marks, but they wouldn't erase.

I tried using the sledgehammer tool on the marks, but it says, "can't delete." So the game actually recognizes it's there, because if I try to delete a random grass spot instead it doesn't even give me a message. I also tried using the "moveobjects on" to manually pick up the dirt and delete it, but it wouldn't let me select it.

I really need some help, because I wanted to submit my house to the public, but this charred ground totally ruins it.

Your sims can clean it. Just click on the floor and it will say "mop up" or "clean up" or something. Have you tried that?

Haha, I've had so many fires in my houses before and never had the ground get fried. So, it's that easy to fix it huh? Thanks. :D

After one fire I had not only the floor, but the floor of the next story turn black :)

And not only that: I spent a lot of time trying to understand what was "dirty" (sims complained) in the kitchen. It turned out that the ceiling lamp got fried and needed to be changed.

That happened to me too.
