This does belong in the help forum I'm sure since it's the game showing issues.

I did the upgrade to Snow Leopard on the day it came out and i have not had any problems with it at all. You may want to try reinstalling your game and see if that works.

I also have upgraded to Snow Leopard and have no issues with the Sims 2 interface flickering.
Please post your system specs; it will help us figure out what's wrong. Particularly which video card you have, and how much video ram.

I recently upgraded to Snow Leopard as well, and am not having any problems relating to game play etc.
The one problem I seem to be having (after numerous re-installations) is that I can make my cheat box appear but I can't type anything in to it...?

My cheat box works fine.

I have the same problem and haven't been able to resolve it yet, despite reinstalls and patches. Has anyone been able to make this go away yet? I really don't want to name all future baby Sims 'Boy' and 'Girl'.

You don't use the cheat box to name a baby Sim. Your problem is more than the cheat box. Your problem is the keyboard; it's apparently not being recognized properly. Can you build anything in game? That uses the keyboard for some things, like shift-clicking to floor an entire room at once. Can you delete an object in the game using the buy menu and the delete key?

Yes, I can do all of those things. But if I have to type text (cheat box or name a baby or pet), nothing happens. The keyboard itself works (the arrow keys to navigate, etc.) and the keyboard works fine on my laptop itself. This problem started in the middle of game play, even though it had worked 20 or 30 minutes earlier in the game. I installed nothing new to the game, put nothing new in the home, or had anyone added to the house. I can't type in text boxes in any neighborhood, in any function, even after removing all CC and reinstalling (and playing the game w/o CC after reinstall).

I am so happy that someone else is having these issues. I played after installing Snow Leopard and it was fine, but like you, I found that I could not use the keyboard for anything other than 'delete', 'shift', 'enter' and the arrows. I reinstalled several times, with and without CC, and still no change. I may contact Mac or Aspyr soon, and will post the reply here.

I have no such issue. Which Mac do you have, and which keyboard? I have a newer, but not the newest, 27 inch iMac with that smaller new aluminum keyboard.

I have a 17 inch MBP. It's three years old. I still maintain the problem has nothing to do with the keyboard but is instead some other conflict within the game and the machine. I can use letter keys to zoom, pan, take pictures and video, etc.

I have the same exact issue as coldwintersun. I have a 27 inch iMac bought in late '07 I believe, with regular mouse and aluminum keyboard.

27 inch iMacs were introduced this year, in 2009. Might you have the 24 inch, which was the largest size available before then?
This sure is an odd problem! Have you notified Aspyr? This is definitely a trouble ticket. I don't see why it should work fine for me and not for you!

Ah yes, it was the 24 inch - I'm all used to using cm - sorry!
I have, I'm still waiting on a reply. If I receive anything useful I'll post it here for other Mac users who have encountered the same problem.

It would be helpful for other users experiencing this problem to also submit a trouble ticket. Aspyr will blow off 1 or 2 reports. They are big on insisting a reinstall will fix anything as their first answer, and don't even look for a solution until numerous people tell them that it isn't working after a clean reinstall.

They told me I should delete the plist in my preferences....that's pretty much what I've done every single time. Oh well. Thanks for your help though!!
