Poor Cody has waited all his life to see a ghost and despite the fact he lives in a house that is haunted nearly every night with the ghosts of his ancestors and various pets, it has never happened. Until tonight, as he's getting off work, with a very full bladder. Which "objects.package" file should I use if I have Mansion & Garden? It works like an expansion pack. Should I use the file from the Apartment Life DVD? The only errors that happened that were not caused by custom content were the lines in the thought bubble and two texture problems with the beds, that I fixed by changing the design.

I would assume you'd only need to do the most recently released product, but I could be wrong. If "Mansion & Garden" is newer than "Apartment Life," then I'd replace the objects.package file in the "Mansion & Garden" folder in the "Program Files" folder with the objects.package from the "Mansion & Garden" disc to restore it to its original state when it was first installed.

I would ask in the TS2 Help forum (http://www.modthesims.info/forumdisplay.php?f=31), just to make sure though. It's really the better place for game help of this nature and I don't want to accidentally give out bad advise.

Yeah, it was a pretty big "WTFH?!" for me as well. Have you ever seen one of those dummies they give you to practice CPR on? Yeah, she was like a creepier version of that. However, as I said, I did exit without saving, I just wanted to see how the kids would look, but this one seemed glitched during her early years.
I aged her to toddler and got this:

She has a skintone she shouldn't (because these were Maxis sims, she should have gotten one of the default replacement skins I had--this is a custom skin, and is the non-geneticised version), and was missing the back of her head, despite getting what turned out to be a Maxis hair when it showed up in childhood!

I also had another odd incident last playthrough at the Singles house--the paperboy is abusing steroids! Seriously, look at that freaking chin! That is not the jawline of a 12-yr.-old paperboy! :wtf:

Had this one happen on an owned community-lot cemetary. There were several little-girl ghosts milling about when I had the owner of the cemetary leave. He blew the whistle, and all of the little-girl ghosts turned into fully-grown witches and walked out the front gate! :wtf:

I'm not sure what's funnier about this picture. Well, it did add new clothings and hairstyles for Young Adults, but the game never generates one from other EP or SP clothings and hairstyles! See Brooke's hairstyle? I actually changed it with OFB one because it was like the other three.

Yeah, it's nice that blue-sweater-guy found love, but where does that leave the woman who summoned him? It's not like she can really say anything either, since the sim in the swim trunks is the landlord of her apartment! (Otherwise though, it was cute as hell!)

And then there was this. Once again I used the CC crystal ball (for a different sim-lady), and Lucy ended up getting the guy in the dreads, Tucker. They were actually hitting it off rather well, but after only a moment or two, Tucker began networking, and tried to set Lucy up with someone else. I clicked OK, thinking that maybe I could get a back-up date in case this one went south. I ended up getting an elderly sim named Nat. The problem? Nat is Tucker's father. You can tell from the pic just how thrilled Lucy is with the idea of Tucker playing wingman for his geriatric father.

Rectos Dominos -I get that creepy sims-head-morphing thing on the sim's portraitures all of the time! It's easy to fix with the batbox, sure, but sometimes they just look really unnerving!

Maranath -So far it's only been that one lot where Grimmie did that (and those sims have since moved out and the lot bulldozed-after moving the urns/tombstones of course!), so I think that it might have just been a one time thing. If it ends up popping up at other lots as well though, then I'll definitely try what you suggested.

I was browsing through my screenshot folders tonight and found some funny ones. Only one actually qualifies as a blooper, but the rest definitely qualify as funny!

At first glance, this first picture may not seem all that funny or unusual. After all, it's just a toddler sitting on the floor by the foot of her parents' bed watching them sleep, and what's so funny about that? Well, how about this: Right before I took this picture, the parents had WooHooed. While they were in the middle of doing their thing, their little daughter just wandered on in, sat down by the foot of the bed, and watched (I don't remember any of their names, unfourtnately!)! I thought that was pretty funny:

The really funny thing is that I've seen a lot of my other sim toddlers do the same thing! I figure they must be annoyed that their parents are being so rude as to ignore them right then!

Funny moment number 2: My Fiona sim (whom I downloaded here on MTS!) had just finished giving birth to her triplets (which took quite awhile, as I wanted her and Shrek to have two boys and a girl just like in the movies, so I had to do the save right when the sim goes into labor and then exit without saving if the sim gives birth to the wrong gender, or gender combo in this case, routine. Poor Fiona must have given birth at least seven or eight times before I finally got the desired gender combo!) and was holding one of them. Well, look closely at he baby. Funny moment number 3: I didn't realize just how funny this situation really was until after I'd taken the picture. Thanks to a woohoo naked hack that I have installed, one of my sims was giving birth stark naked (she and her husband had woohooed, and then she went into labor immeditely after getting out of bed so didn't have time to swoosh into her clothes!)....while her husband looked mildly disgusted at the fact that his wife was naked and giving birth in front of him (really, why are sims so shocked when they see their spouse naked?!) and the family servo watched intently! Plus, check out the laboring sim's expression and pose!:

And finally, the slightly glitchy moment. Lucy Burb recently married her college sweetheart (an ex-dormie named Roger Stratton). I don't normally take many pictures at my sim's weddings, but this time decided to. So I took what I thought was a very sweet picture of Roger feeding Lucy a bite of wedding cake. And then I noticed her eyes (default replacements):

First picture happened randomly when I paused the game. I'm still not sure why she did that, or if it counts as a glitch, but it looks funny anyways.

Second picture is the penguin from seasons... on the castaway island... I don't know if he's supposed to be there, but it looks like he's having fun.

Third picture is from the normal sims 2 game. My sim woman was on vacation with her son. She's a family sim, and has a nearly permanent want of having a baby. One time, when she came back from a sight seeing tour, it looked like this. Make up your mind woman!

As far as where Eaxis gets the names goes....with names like Leelaporn, I don't think we really want to know!

Also, about the post with the sim who has both a want and a fear of having a baby: I've noticed that family sims have a tendancy to start rolling fears in addition to wants to have a baby after they've had lots of kids (as opposed to just wants). John Burb started rolling both wants and fears of having a baby after his fourth and fifth children (twin girls.....and they are actually John and Jennifer's SECOND set of twins! Naturally, they also have Lucy, their oldest child) were born. Brandi Broke also started doing that once her fourth child (a girl, as well as her first child with Darren Dreamer) aged up toddler (she's now a child). Ironically enough, Brandi was in fact pregnant while she had the want and fear to have a baby.

So when she gave birth to twins (girls), both her want and fear were fulfilled. I don't really feel sorry for her, though, because the pregnancy was the result of ACR. In otherwords, it was all her and Darren's doing, without any "help" from me. If you really don't want more kids, Brandi, either don't do the deed or use protection!

I'm not sure, but I think the fear rolling after having several kids is most likely to happen when all of those kids are fairly close in age, and one or more are toddlers. I have a hunch that having a few kids who were adults, teenagers, or a combination might make a family sim more likely to roll the "have a baby" fear as well, since they probably think at that point that they're way past diaper changes and 2 a.m. feedings!

On a similar note, I switched Herb Oldie's aspiration to Family (via the ReNuYu Senso Orb) in my game (his default aspiration is romance).....and not all that long ago, he rolled a want to have a baby. I was like, "Uh, I don't think that's going to happen, buddy!" Since his wife Coral is also an elder, the only way for him to have a baby would be to cheat on her (since, while elder female sims can't get pregnant, elder male sims CAN impregnate adult female sims)....and I'm not about to let that happen!

The simultaneous want/fear to have a baby is not only common, but reasonable, and reflects a rare moment of realistic assessment of their abilities for Family sims. I use the fear to govern when my family/family couples use birth control, and it most often rolls when older kids are toddlers, resources are low, or moods are low. Also, I note that she also has the want to Get Married; she wants to get married and have a baby, but what if she does it in the wrong order? Men often run from women with kids. Wanting and fearing something simultaneously is common in real life.

I remember seeing an interview somewhere with a member of the Sims 2 team, and she had the same last name as a frequent townie name (I want to say like Jitmakusol or something like that). My hunch is that EAxis started giving kudos to their designers etc. by naming townies after them.

ETA: Having watched some of the credits in-game... that's exactly where they got the names from: at very least the surnames. Just in the first little pile of names there was a Copur, Greaves, Jayapalan, Guevara, Kauker, Hsu, Dai, St. Julien, King, Johnston...

1. Joyce, and Joy the game decided not only to dress them exactly alike (what is the odds) but they are also impossible to tell apart. (PS the icons of the toddler want are of Joyce and Joy)

So theres a glitch in my game where this girl is FOREVER passed out in my apartment complex. I already know of a mod to fix I suppose, but I wanted to keep her there for the lulz If you haven't already, I recommend deleting her with the moveobjects on cheat (type the cheat into the cheat window, then go into Buy mode, click on her, and delete her as you would an object!). A lot of times, doing that helps fix "problem" sims like that. With any luck, when you go back to the lot (obviously make sure you turn off the cheat and save first before you exit to the neighborhood!), she should be standing by the mailbox all fixed (if she's a resident at the apartment building) or off the lot entirely (if she's a townie). :)

Nothing worse than having several sims who love nothing more than to kick over your trash can!

Anyway, I must be one of the odd ones out here, because I detest romance sims! When I first saw that "romance" was one of the aspiration choices, I was thrilled. I figured that sims with that aspiration would enjoy romantic evenings out with their spouse and be super-devoted to their spouse....and as a huge romantic, that really appealed to me. Well, imagine my shock when I discovered that a better name for the romance aspiration would be "Serial cheater" or "commitment-phobe"! I avoid romance sims like the plague now (although at some point I may play Don Lothario just for laughs!), and instead focus on playing mostly sims with the aspiration that is basically what I thought romance would be.....Family. :)

He's the first one i always play in a new pleasantview only because he's a lot more then just a serial cheater. When he starts having kids with Kaylynn, Cassandra, Dina, Nina, and Bella (if playing the megahood) he really starts coming around. Not to mention he's got nice genes to pass around. He's the only sim i ever find myself having 20* kids with (*I roll die and each couple can have up to to 4 for a total of 20 kids using don as an example) As for enemies if they start it I finish it :) Circe Beaker joy buzzed Julien Cooke and he threw water in her face and it's been going ever since.

I had the frat on pause and was scrolling toward the sim I wanted when I saw something really weird in their double-bedded room. Sorry about the walls being down - it was impossible to get any picture at all with them up. Getting a good look at it didn't help any, but when I scrolled over it I saw the names of the male cow mascot and his nemesis, one of the llama mascots. When I started movement again it turned into an ordinary fight (which I'm delighted to say the cow mascot lost).
