Hi there,

You know those towels from K&B, those on a rack that you can hang up on the wall? Well, I really wanted those separated, because I needed them separated in my game. So I tried meshing, again! And this time I succeeded, until I tested my mesh in game and saw that it was all edgy, while the original is just smooth!

Here's an example of what I'm talking about:

By the way, I used Wings 3D to do the meshing. Well, I didn't really mesh myself, but I cut away the two extra towels and moved the other towel.
So my question is now: Why does my mesh turn all edgy, while the original is just smooth? How's that possible?

I hope someone can help me, because I'm really lost at this point and I really want to make this work!

All you need to do in Wings is, select your towels and right-click ( I think it's right-click, I haven't meshed in awhile) and choose ' Smooth'.

Your towels will loose that edgy look. :)

But the polycount will increase!

Nah, doesn't work; I already tried that. When I do that the mesh sorta implodes.

Sorry for the late reply, you can try something else!

In Wings you've 4 cubes ( triangles) on the top, click on the second one from the left, select the edges of the towels and right-click...choose 'Hardness' then 'Soft'.
It will soften the edges of your towels and that's what you want.

Like I said, I haven't meshed in awhile...forgot about the imploding when you smooth. :)
