Problem with Paintings?

I checked the FAQ and Help sections, but I couldn't find anything about this...
Every time my sim paints something and I try to hang it up, it disappears as it touches the wall. Her want to decorate the house with paintings counts the missing paintings, but they're nowhere to be found.
I've hung paintings before in other households, and never had this happen. Why is this happening, and how can I fix it?

Do you have any mods? I know a mod that make the picture (or should I say image?) disappear but I've never heard of the paintig itself disappearing.
Do you have a painting mod?

Nope. The only mods I have are the faster visa mod and the Supercomputer.

This has happened to me too, but only once. I dragged the pretty painting to the wall, and when I let go it was just... gone. Not on the other side of the wall, not on another floor, just not anywhere anymore. The house already had several sim-painted paintings, and the next time I tried to hang one it worked just fine. My theory at the time was that I had accidentally slipped with the mouse and placed the painting in the house next door instead, but I wonder if that is even possible.

I don't know. But I've been playing with the Goth family, and there isn't a house next door to theirs :P

This is a glitch within the game. Same thing happens to me as well. If you frame the picture you'll see the frame but the painting is either gray or white. When I leave the house and come back it's there. Weird.
