View Full Version : There is NO FILES COMING UP!

I have double clicked the packages and when the installer somes up there is no files. I can hit install and it says installed. But it didnt go in the game! :!: :help:

You can't install packages in this way; you'll notice that the clean installer window is empty, it should have a list of items with checkboxes beside them. When you click on the Install button, the Clean Installer will install everything with a checkmark beside it.

When you ask to install when there is nothing in the window, then you are asking the clean installer to install nothing. It is telling you that it successfully installed nothing.

What kind of packages are you trying to install?

I am having a similar problem... I have a new computer...old one crashed and burned. Installer does not open anything...does not install anything... will not view anything. SimPE has the same complaint. Any words of wisdom?

Exactly what steps are you using to open a file using these two programs?

I have a downloads file on desktop(extracted rar files and unzipped zip files).. have tried to open files two ways...click on file choose open with... clean installer... no result open the clean installer... have it open the download file...and it's empty
similarly... installed SimPe along with the dds utilities (net 1.1 is also installed on my machine)
when trying to recolor an object, I can't get the subset folders in order to actually recolor a mesh. The only function that works is recoloring the wall art templates...

Your first problem is clearly the same problem as the original poster and the answer is the same... the Clean Installer cannot be used to open packages.

Your second problem should be in its own thread, since it has nothing to do with the original problem. This is not a problem with opening a file in SimPE, but with recoloring an object. I have no experience with recoloring objects, so I can't help you further.

I would recommend that you start a new thread with a descriptive title, explaining that you are having problems recoloring using SimPE. I believe that there is a better forum for this new problem:
