I have a YA couple who are attempting to open a night club with grant money. I am using the ticket-per-hour so their is no need to stock. YA female has the ambition to have five of these as five star. Can it be done with a bar? Have you run a bar or night club? Got any tips for success? I have the basic necessities but would enjoy seeing how others fare and maybe learn some tricks. :Pint:

You can do no nightclub. Only one store. If you wanted to do a nightclub you would need Open for business and would have to take under electronics> miscellaneous> this monetary collector, and there one would have to stand there always and this is irritatingly this say I to you :giggler: !

Having a nightclub (I have had one) also helps if you have Nightlife so you get the bars, etc. And in mine I had a pool and a pool table and a TV and three huge pianos (but that was because my family was a legacy family.)

"cdanon" What I did was to go to the downtown area ( NL ) and I turn one of those clubs into a private own for one of my sims couple, I did change a few things inside, to make it look better. I also made a copy of it in my house bin in case I wanted to place in another hood, you can always change the color of it inside and out for other hoods if you do not want it to look the same. Note I also made a copy of the original way Maxis did it before I change it my way, that is in the bin as well.

Once you own it you will have to supply the bartender, dj, etc. yourself, so it helps to have a lot of stuff that doesn't require employees. If you have a grill or those "decorative" fire jets, add a fire alarm or find a way to get a sprinkler over it. (The same goes for fireplaces.) Once it's owned, people can incinerate themselves on your lot if you leave the opportunity open.

Nightclubs can be tough because most customer loyalty changes revolve around buying stuff. Here are a few things to keep an eye on. Loyalty runs on a scale from -1000 to +1000 and new customers start at 0.
Environment: Customer loyalty is adjusted every 20 minutes on a range from -9 to +9 based on the current Environment score. Keep Environment high and it's free loyalty.
Bandatron: They get 20 points from buying a bandatron ticket and 10 more each time the bandatron charges them another fee. The longer they stay, the more loyal they are.
Socialization: 80% of short term and 140% of long term relationship changes are translated into loyalty points. That appears to be any social changes not just relationship with the owner, so as customers socialize with each other both customers will have their loyalties increase. Of course that means you need to boot the troublemakers because as they run around poking and slapping people, customer loyalty goes down. Vampires and werewolves can be especially nasty because Bleh and Grr give a 100 point loyalty drop to the victim PLUS the relationship hit.
And you might want to avoid letting people die or catch on fire. Customers tend to frown on that.

Ah-ha! I knew there was another thread with a similar question:
Night Club Business? (http://sumomo.modthesims.info/showthread.php?p=2991521)
There's a few suggestions on there as well - it died about 2 months back.

Thanks all,
Very helpful info I have gotten and I will read that old thread. There is a guide here but seems incomplete on the band-a-tron type businesses. I have checked others guides and it is mainly retail types--I guess the main meat of OFB. Is very helpful to know about loyalty-I interact a bit more and it has helped where as I was running just a dj booth and a bar and letting visitors just stand around until they accepted or declined.
With a complete set of ep's I imagine there is a lot you can do with the OFB one. Just now trying to explore what can be done with this ep.
