View Full Version : Where can I find a mod that will change the default vampire skin?

EXCEPT for the red eyes. I want my sim to have their human skin tone, original color of lips and makeup, and no grey overlay whatsoever. But I want her red eyes to stay, because they fit her appearance best. I've considered changing her back to human and just finding some "contacts" that are red.. But that would ruin the storyline I'm plotting.

Where can I find a default replacement that only effects the skin but not the eyes? :help:

You can't. The vampire "skintone" is an overlay and any changes to the face overlay will affect the eyes. I don't know of any invisible vampire defaults that keep the Maxis eyes. Most of them either remove both the red eye and blue overlay or they totally change the colour of the overlay and sometimes give the sim eyes from a custom set. You could try requesting this from one the creators who take requests. Just contact someone who posted in this thread (http://www.modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=392615) who said that they make default skintones. They should be able to do it for you.

Untrue. You can just make the overlay over the eyes a clear alpha, resulting in the original eyes displaying. Alternatively, you can override the skin with something that ONLY has the eyes. However, there is no product I know of which performs exactly what you wish, so you will have to DIY.

I have no Sims 2 modding experience at all, otherwise I would do it myself... Or is it even possible? I'm still a bit confused because I don't know what an overlay or a clear alpha is. Is it really that complicated? I would be extremely appreciative if someone could just brew this little tweak up nice and easy if possible. Just normal skin, red eyes, and still have fangs.

Edit: Is there any way I could mod that specific sim alone to have her human skin and vampire eyes? I do have SimPE but I've never used it for anything except making a career mod. Could I edit her through that somehow?

IIRC, supernatural sims don't have different skintones and eyes than normal sims. Instead they have an overlay which adds the supernatural element - the skin and eyes - by covering the sim's original features. I.e. a werewolf overlay has fur and yellow eyes, plantsim has the green vines and green eyes, vampire has a pale overlay and red eyes.

.::TSN::. made a compeletely invisible default vampire overlay meaning that your sim will retain her original skin and eyes: http://www.modthesims.info/download.php?t=92042.

I'm pretty sure that I said that you can make a clear overlay with just the Maxis eyes on it. I may not have been 100% clear on that, but I did say that 100% clear overlays exist but that I did not know of one that was clear but had the Maxis red eye, which was why I suggested that the OP request it. Strictly speaking, any overlay will affect both the eyes and the skintone because for vampires you cannot make an eyes only default like you can for normal and alien eyes. Any "vamp eye default replacement" is actually a replacement for the whole face texture because there is no separate vamp eye like there is for the 5 normal eyes and the alien eyes, which can be swapped out at will without affecting the skintone/face.

tawney: which eyes would you like on the overlay? The Maxis red vampire or another eye, eg. a red eye from the default set you use? I can make this for you.

Really, you would? Oh my gosh thank you! :lovestruc I actually like the Maxis red vampire eyes best, since they blend in better.
