View Full Version : Problem with CFE (kind of solved)

I've been trying to make a fence-stair rail by running a fence along the top of a wall and then using CFE false to drop the ground so the wall goes to the angle of the stairs, and then turning CFE true and flattening the ground. I've done this before for other projects but I'm having a problem this timethat I have not had before.

When I turn CFE true and go to flatten the ground, it glows red one square wide on each side of the wall and won't flatten (of course if CFE is still false the ground will flatten but so will the wall). I have moveobjects on and I have tried it with moveobjects off also. Removing the stairs to do the flattening does not help. As long as the wall is there, the ground won't flatten. I know this is wrong: I've made no end of curved roofs using CFE before, and they would have been impossible if this had happened.

Are there any recent mods that conflict with CFE manipulations? Or any other known CFE conflicts I might have blundered into?

Update:

I found out how to make this work for the stair rails. Instead of using the terrain tools to flatten after using CFE to drop the walls, I turned CFE true again and then clicked undo, which flattened the ground and left the walls intact.

But I could have sworn that I had done something different before . . . all that really matters is I can do what I set out to do now.
