Help to find this movie...

Well I saw that pare321 needed help to find a movie, well I need it too ;)

I think that it's American, more American than British

It was some kind of mystery horror/drama, and the main thing were night butterflies... I think that the Richard Gere played the main role, but whenever I search for his movies, I can't find this one, so maybe it wasn't he in the main role...
I watched it long ago, but I somehow remember the storyline:

A man drives with a woman in the car at night, and the woman see a human like butterfly, and then they fall into a car crash... Then the woman goes to hospital, and she always paint night butterflies... Her husband (Richard Gere) try to search for more information about butterflies, and then he asks one woman which said that she saw some butterfly-like creature at night with glowing red eyes on tree branch... And then Richard Gere (if it was him) meets an old man who tells him that the night butterfly represents 'a soul which lost it's way from heaven' or something like that... I can't remember anything else :|

RoseCity - Yes it is! thanks a lot :) I really want to see it again, and I have found it on wiki. My problem in searching was because I always typed 'Richard Gere night butterflies', but it was mothman ;)

The script of this film could've been better, but the atmosphere is scary. I saw it at a late showing that got out around midnight and I was afraid to walk to the car.

Yes, it was scary... and I was always afraid to look through the window because of the red Mothman glowing eyes... but it was 8 years ago... I was afraid of night butterflies, too, for a couple of weeks after seeing the movie. And I saw it just once, but I saw half of movie, maybe it was too scary for me to watch it until the end. I don't know the ending, so I want to see it again, I will probably download it. Thanks again ;)
