Hello everybody! I have been searching for WA tips, and came across something called Travel Corruption. I have a couple questions.
1. What is it?
2. When does it happen?
3. Does it affect everybody? (becaues I am really weary of Traveling now.)
And just to clarify, I know how to fix it, (No Pescado, no awesome.)
but I like to take precautions. Thanks!

It's when a sim travels and ends up with a kid attached to their family tree. I don't remember all the details because I've always used AM and have never had it happen. I'm pretty sure Awesome Mod is the only way to prevent it from happening.

I've heard of it, but it's never happened to me, and I've gone on vacations many times and I don't use AM, which apparently squishes it. I don't know: I don't use it. It's probably just a bug that happens to some: it's a luck of the draw, really.

Simmer9761, my various Sims have taken dozens and dozens of vacations and this has only happened to me once. It was an easy thing to solve (and you said you knew what to do) but my Sim simply started cell-phoning the foreign daughter until they were friends, invited her for a visit, invited her to move in, went to edit town, moved her out and deleted her from the game. Poof! Gone from the family tree.
I was pretty surprised myself. My loner Sim was still a virgin and yet she had managed to conceive and given birth to a fully grown adult daughter all by herself!

Oh, ok. I thought it was like TS2 BV where it affected everyone. Thanks, I can travel again!

Hello everybody! I have been searching for WA tips, and came across something called Travel Corruption. I have a couple questions.
When I use the term "WA Travel Corruption" it refers to the breaking of the family tree.
In order to travel to a new town-file, the traveling sims are exported out of your town, and imported into the new one... Using the same process that is used to save a family to the Sim Bin.
During this process, only part of the family tree is exported... Meaning that when you return to your non-vacation town, that family tree must be reintegrated with the rest.
On occasion, this reintegration process will fail, leaving your sim with a broken family tree. This issue usually results in the inability to click the "Family Tree" button on the Simbology tab.
Cheers. :)

Ahh, is that why the family tree is so screwy in vacation? with Sims appearing as kids, or dead, when their not?

Yes, I would suggest not looking too closely at the family tree while on vacation, the copy you are looking at can look a little peculiar.
I would also advise against making any adjustments to that tree while on vacation, as doing so increases the complexity when importing the family back into the home-town.

And I assume that this may also be the cause for your Sims not arriving in vacation worlds at all with a blank user interface and no Sim to act with?

That is caused by a script error being fired during the export/import of your family into the vacation town.
Since EA decided not to properly trap the errors produced by that system, it proceeds to bounce the entire import process, leaving you with no family at all once the town loads.
There are a couple of known reasons for travel bounces:
1) If the sims that are traveling together don't know each other
2) If a traveling teenager does not have sufficient homework skill
3) Certain types of Opportunities held by the traveling sims
(There are more, I'm sure. These are simply the ones I have personally encountered.)
Most of the causes are extremely dumb, caused by EA reusing the Bin Export/Import system and not properly recoding it for use by the vacation system.

The one I recently encountered seemed to be caused by a buggy family or lot I had placed in the neighbourhood.
