I believe it was called this...it was shown at the VGA's and it's being created by my favorite company Bethesda...it is the sequel to the award winning game of the year back in god knows when "Oblivion" It is part of the elder scrolls series for those who do not know what I am talking about, what are your thoughts?

I believe with the experience gained over the years of Bethesda with games such as Fallout 3 and Oblivion and the technology and income that these guys have, I think Skyrim will be amazing, as long as they take a few minor dissapointments out such as the level cap :/

So come on, I wanna hear your thoughts!

I've played every Elder Scrolls game and will get this one and will totally be doodling "Mrs. Skyrim" in my notebooks with a heart dotting the i.

I am kind of a lore nut and I'm confused about the whole "dragon-born" thing the trailer seems to hint at, since the dragon blood ended... well, we'll say with Martin Septim, but actually long before that if you look at the family tree... I hate lore-breaking stuff but, then, it's a Bethesda tradition to throw out the lore of the previous games and do something that relies heavily on the lore of the previous games only being sort of a basis. I know it's nitpicky and stupid to care too much about it when they're such great games, but dammit, if they're going to weave such an intense and detailed story, stick to it!

Will be attending a Bethsoft event next year in London (press trips yay! :P)

I'm really hoping we get to see some gameplay from Skyrim.

I'm also really hoping that Bethesda look to Morrowind instead of Oblivion for inspiration but on that last point I'm not too hopeful.

I have never played morrowind :/
I always heard Oblivion was the best out of the series, is this true in fact or?

I'm not overly hopeful on Skyrim displays though (the trip is in Jan so perhaps a bit early to expect gameplay demonstrations) it will most likely be focused on the new id IPs coming out like Rage.

I can't wait, i am a big oblivion fan but i never played morrowind.
Still the trailer looks awesome and the music is even more epic!!?!?!

aparently 20 people have been working on it since the launch of oblivion and since the launch of new vagas there has been another 5-10 peoples on board
I don't understand why they release a trailer 11 months before the actual opening thingy

Anywayz i will be there at mid night on 11.11.11

i think the dragon idea is a quality

i hope they keep the adoring fan ... by azura by azura it the grand champi....*arrow goes through his head*...

From what I know, they have done away with the GameBryo engine ( an unspecified company has purchased it ) and have devised a new engine to handle the graphics and run the game. My hope is that it will be more friendly to modding so that there would be less need for modding utilities to add capability like OBSE. I hope the RAND function works correctly and that gettarget can be called on the player.

Most important to me is the AI, not Radiant AI but Combat AI, tactics, and methods to control the field of combat. If you saw the trailor and loved the voice, that is Max von Sydow. You might remember him from various movies and Steven King's Needful Things.

Some would say this. I would not. In fact I consider Morrowind the series' peak and Oblivion one of its lowest points.

The team is larger than that. Trust me. :)

As for the trailer it was an announcement trailer. The official confirmation of many game's development is done in this way.

We'll be seeing more content a wee bit further down the track (hopefully in Jan for me :P - although to be honest I'd be surprised but who knows).

From what I know, they have done away with the GameBryo engine ( an unspecified company has purchased it ) and have devised a new engine to handle the graphics and run the game.

Just to clarify Gamebryo wasn't owned by Bethesda, they simply used the tech extensively. Emergent owned the engine and they are the ones that sold the rights to the tech to Gamebase which is effectively a new group headed up by ex Emergent VP. It's all a bit confusing but basically the closer of Krome Studios (an Australian software developer and major Emergent partner) earlier this year precipitated the 'restructure'.

I'm excited. Not as excited as some. My husband is building a new computer just for Skyrim. It's gonna have a 6 core processor, and 3 monitors.
