OK, I'm sure this is a dumb question, but I've only been at this a short time.
I know how to get my Sims engaged, and I know how to send them on their honeymoons, but I'm missing one essential step---I can't figure out how to accomplish the actual WEDDING ceremony.
Can somebody please give me a clue??
Thank,
Gary---Clueless in Florida

Click on the sim you want to marry, then Propose, then Marriage. This can be done at any time after you have got engaged. No Adult/Young Adult marriages though, you have to graduate/drop out (or invite them to move in if they're college townies) first. I'm not sure about Adult/Elder matches, but my guess is they'd be ok.
You can also use the Wedding Arches (found in the party section of the buy catalogue). Click on the arch during a wedding party & click Get Married or whatever it says (Ican't remember exactly).
You get a cut scene if you use the arch, no cut scene if you just propose it.

Thankyou, so very much for your fast response--you answered my question perfectly!! My problem was exactly that--Co-eds trying to marry while still in school!
Now I know exactly how to deal with it--one of them is about to flunk out anyway!
(How in the world does anybody fail with bondage as a major? Sheesh this sim is DUMB!!) :jest:

Without a mod/hack I don't think students can get married at all (even to another student), but I could be wrong... Can anyone confirm?

I know that they can get engaged... but I have so many hacks and mods I don't know what's left of the game.

Confirmed: YAs can get engaged, but they cannot get married nor become pregnant without hacks.

I just tried hacking it with the insimenator. Marriage was lost once the students became adults, and the kid remained on the university lot bugging my whole game.
Hope that's another nail in the coffin'.

I used Inteen to get college students married to each other. The bad part is, when one ages up and goes to leave for the main neighborhood, the other one starts to cry. (Of course if you have one visit a college community lot and arrange it so one leaves while the other is at class....) At least with that, the marriage remained intact.
Another way to have married college students: Create a married couple in CAS. Put them on a lot, age both down to teen. Then send them both to college. The marriage will be intact. I know because I decided to see if it would work. The nice part is, if you don't have Inteen, you won't have to worry about the girl getting pregnant while in school. (Though you won't have an actual wedding ceremony....)

You do nt want to use a cheat to have a kid while in college. They never age, or at least with my game. XD Stuck with a baby (not toddler) till out of college. Sucks to be them. I tried marrying even with cheats didn't work.
FYI a adult can marry an elder. XD And elder males can still make babies with adult females.

That's the thing about University. In the Sims world, your Sim can screw around all they want (literally) and the worst they'll get is a slap in the face from a jealous lover...while in the real world, all sorts of unpleasant things can and do happen.

True that, my one sims keeps wanting to whoo hoo and make out with every sim in the neighborhood. In real life we would call that a word that begins with a s or a w and ends with a t or a e. Well also s and k but we all know the list goes on and they would not be called a romance sim. XD But I love how fast they go nuts when they get engaged or married.

I described the Romance aspiration to my husband and he said, "Oh, they want to be swingers." LOL
I just have my Sims put a leash on it until after graduation. Then when they get married, they can have all the fun they want.

Young adults can get married you just have to be playing a normal lot and the YA grows into an adult. Not worth it in my opinion

I tried to marry a graduated, still at University sim to her graduated, moved out fiance by inviting her to the wedding party at his residence, and couldn't get the "get married" option on the arch, so I had to abort the wedding and move her out. When you did it, RoseGirl, did you do it from a community lot?

The way I've heard it, if you have a YA townie that you wish to marry to an adult playable sim, if the playable is not a college graduate then you have to move the YA townie in with them before the wedding (so they age up to adult, and I think get the dropped out memory?) but if the playable is a college graduate then they can marry the townie on a normal lot without moving them in and the townie will be considered a uni graduate. Not sure if that's right though - I play with Inteen installed so my college sims can get married whilst they're still studying and I've been using it for so long I can't remember how it's supposed to work!
