How to play Late Night

My Sims live in Sunset Valley, and often want to go to dive bars and dance clubs. How do I get them there. I have all the expansions.

a) Make them yourself

b) add the premade ones to empty lots

I am new to Sims 3. I just started playing two weeks ago and don't know a lot about it.

There should be bars in your lot bin. Go to "Edit Town", then choose a bar and place it somewhere.

Okay then. If you want to make your own, then....
1) Click on an empty lot
2) Find where it says "residential" and click on it. You should see two options, one being community and the other residential.
3) Click on "community" and there will be a drop down menu. Click on the type of club that you want to make.
4) Build away!

Or, to add premade lots...
1) Do steps 1-3 from above
2) go to the lot bin, and in the community section you should find the clubs
3) Place the clubs

The difficulty with placing Late Night lots in Sunset Valley is that there are not very many lots big enough for the skyscrapers. You may have to use Edit World to place some larger lots, or rearrange existing lots.

Alternatively, you can move your sims to another town. If you have multiple households you want to move, you should look into Twallan's Porter mod, which enables you to retain the relationships between them. You can move them to Bridgeport, the EA world that came with Late Night, or to a player-made Late Night compatible world.
