Can I choose when certain things happen? (graduation,prom,etc..)

I'm one of those people that really micro manage my sims. I also have a certain timeline :lol:

Right now its like october in the game(im planning a halloween party) and it would be really annoying if prom came up.

Also can i choose which sims graduate or attend prom? I also put them in different grades and not all of my teens are seniors.

I think prom just randomly comes up. That's what happened with me. My Sim Reid grew up into a teenager and like 4 days later it was prom time, and I had it set on a 14 day time for teens. So.....

I've had it IMMEDIATELY after my Sim grew into a teen, and another time it didn't even happen until AFTER MY SIM'S GIRLFRIEND TURNED INTO A YOUNG ADULT! D:

For my teen, prom was maybe 5 days before she grew up into young adult. The day after her birthday party I got a notification telling me to go to the town hall for her graduation. So apparently graduation is right after you age up. Unless my game is seriously wonky.

Thats so dumb. I'm pretty sure most people would want to choose when prom or graduation happens.

Necro post by a couple of days :< I didnt want to create a new thread.

So yeah, i had my first teen in generations now and he barley transitioned before the prom invite showed up. I dont really play legacies i fail at them so my sims have a quite long life span, I like to get to know them.
So for the prom thing to appear that fast is bullshit i barley know my teen or how hes going to act, How am i going to find a girl that he likes in what? 4 days? sim days? i can barley get them to do the chores around the house in one sim day. :/

Is there a mod that fixes this? that you can choose the time because this is so dumb. Also, if i choose to not go on this prom? is that it? forever he gets no second chance?
He just turned in to a teen how is prom so soon, it doesnt even make any sense.

Been wondering the prom thing myself. As soon as my teens go to prom, they automatically have a want AGAIN to go to prom. So i'm not sure if it's a one time thing or not, but I'd like to know too. My proms usually don't happen until like the middle of the teen age group but i did have one that popped up within 4 days after I had shortened their lifespan from 14 days to 10 days.

For prom, yes, but graduation always happens the day after becoming a young adult, so that one's a set event.

edit: As for prom, there's a random chance it'll decide to have a prom every day that you have a teenager in the house. Once you've had a prom, it waits 14 days (because it assumes you're playing on normal, I guess) to start randomly deciding if there should be one again. So if you have longer lifespans, you're likely to get more than one prom. Otherwise, you'll probably get just one and there's a chance that you won't get one at all, but I've only had that happen once (and it did schedule a prom.. it just waited too long - it scheduled the prom for the day after my Sim was going to age up).

I had two teen sims who both went to prom solo, and they both found girlfriend/boyfriend's on that night, so it's not really much of a problem if you can't find a sim. I was worrying about this myself because they had both just literally aged up and the option appeared.

Personally I don't care when graduation happens, just as long as it does. I'm trying to see how many "Most Likely to Take over the World" ribbons my graduates can get.

I just found out that Twallan added a function for the prom with one of his mods. I'm not sure whether it's the Debug Enabler or Master controller, but it definitely works.
