Teach teenagers how to drive?

Does anyone know how to teach teenagers how to drive. My teenager has the wish and I have no idea how to do it.

You need a car, and then with your teen active, click on a parent/adult and you'll have the interaction to learn to drive.

I read on Twallan's forum that it may not come up if the teen does not have a high enough relationship with the parent. I need to stop reading and play more, finding lots of gameplay information that I want to experience. :)

EDIT: Also the interaction can come up with any YA and above, with the appropriate high relationship. Don't have to be a parent.

is it possible to use another car other than the blue van for teaching teens how to drive?

Yes, you can use any car you have on the lot.. if you put the car you want them to use in the teen's inventory, they should be sure to use that one.

I've had the "ask to teach to drive" interaction where the teen had a very bad relationship with the parent... the request just fails though :/ You can ask, but they don't have to agree to do it!

I usually get the teen or the parent to roll the want, and then I click on the sim teen and have them teach the sim.

I seem to get the interaction to work when they are out. I never seem to get the option when they are home!! Strange.
