After installing Generations my game started to run very slow. I have short pauses every 5 or 6 seconds. It's really anoying. When I watched may sims memories, I saw they remember evey detail of their life! I have deleted unnecessary memories, and game started to run a bit faster. Is there any way to turn memories off? When I want them to remember something, I can store such memory myself.
EDIT:
Sorry, I didn't notice this threat:

Yep, it is here to stay. Unless someone writes a mod to control what to write as memory, what you see is what you get. The reason you are running slow is that the entire neighborhood is creating memories, not just your active household (even with story progression turned off). And the first few hours seem to be the most hectic because there is a set of "first time wow" for every sim that they go crazy on creating memories about: Go to bar, club, school, work, do something (very ordinary), etc... After they get through that phase, when nothing is worth of creating memories en mass, things will settle down and you will regain some performance.
After installation and playing Generations for 2 hours, I found out most of my non active households had created almost 2 full pages per sim. I was so annoyed that I had to manually deleted them as this would help speeding up performance as well as game saving time. However, someone did point out that sims will just create "Visit a lounge" memory soon enough no matter how often I delete it. So that memory entry is here to stay or I have to consider plucking the lounge from my neighborhood; and manual clean up of "ordinary memory entries" is just pointless.
However, here is something more useful: Non-active households create memories without screenshots (less data to save). So if save time is your concern, delete any useless memory with screenshots, and let the sims create them again when they are non active. So far this is the only thing I believe we can deal with Memories, aside from turning off notification in Options which is just an annoyance for us, but memories will get created no matter we want to know about it or not.

Well I must delete many of usless memories. Thankfully, there is a mod for killing memories. But it kills it completelly, so you can't make your own memories. I will use it anyway. My comfort in playing is the most important thing for me.
